Guest Reviews
- o0okaskao0o (9/5): Beautiful, peaceful stay with great amenities! - We had a wonderful stay at the shepherd's hut. The location is fantastic - surrounded by lots of greenery and peaceful. We happened to visit during a very hot spell, so having access to the park's swimming pool was the perfect way to cool down! Inside, the hut was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed. It’s a great, clever use of a smaller space and very comfortable. A couple of things could be improved: the Wi-Fi signal was quite weak and unreliable, and the setup is only semi-private (it could really do with a thicker boundary fence and some privacy screening between the individual huts). Also, the BBQ was dirty when we arrived.
- Dan (9/5): Decent stay, would come back - Location was easy to find, well lit at night time so easy to see the entrance. Key code to open barriers easy to operate. Check in was easy, key safe containing keys upon arrival, caravan park had swimming pool, playground, table tennis etc. Shared facilities throughout the park. Shop onsite opens from 9am- 5pm contains very basic items but useful items you may have forgotten. The accommodation contains most of the basic amenities you can need during your stay, towels and linen provided were clean. Small container of washing up liquid provided and tea towel. BBQ provided (uses gas) easy to pull out the bed and put it away. Hot shower and flushing toilet. Ceiling window to look into the night sky. Chairs and furniture provided outside. Barriers offer somewhat privacy to the rest of the site but not the other shepherds hut. A little bit dusty inside although clean enough. Could do with hand wash, we bought toiletries but no hand wash which we had to use shower gel until buying some at the shops. Could do with another barrier towards the back where the fire place is, sitting there the other shepherds can see everything. A lot of litter around the edges of the shrubs ( I guess previous guests at fault) also we noticed a lot of dried up dog poop laying around ( also previous guests at fault)
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect get away! - We loved it and can’t wait to return, clean and tidy, good attention to detail, and great value!! Perfect location not far from many attractions! We will be back Nothing we loved it all should have stayed longer
- Siobhan (10/5): - Absolutely loved the hut. Very comfortable. Immaculate condition too. Just perfect. ( wobbly wifi was actually a good thing!)
- hunt (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay, Lovely place and the shepherd hut was great, had everything you needed,
- Lin (9/5): Unique and lovely stay - Unique, cosy well built and decorated shepherds hut. The outside area is private and great that there’s outdoor seating and bbq. Well equipped kitchen although no bottle opener. Bed is comfy. Toilet is clean. And lovely fluffy towels. Checking in was easy and seamless. The internal doors creak loudly and also the bed when you pull it down.
- Rowena (10/5): A peaceful Christmas - We stayed over Christmas and it was wonderful. When we arrived it was lovely and warm and had our own part- private garden. We were the only ones staying in the cabins so it was very peaceful The hut had mostly everything you could need which was brilliant but the plates/ glasses were a bit dusty/ dirty.
- Emma (10/5): -
- daisy (9/5): Beautiful little place would recommend will be back - The fire and star gazing on the roof The beds a bit hard
- Gary (7/5): Not bad but wouldn’t say again - Overall quite nice and clean and tidy Bed very uncomfortable, some amenities missing including some token kindling for log burner and promised toiletries. No staff available to speak to. Don’t let out properties if you haven’t staff to help with any queries just because it’s out of season or it’s the weekend. Very poor service
Not private
- Botan Meat (10/5): -
- Nicola (8/5): - Great attention to detail and space well thought out. Plenty of plugs and USB charging points. Personally I found the bed, and table in particular, very heavy to manoeuvre into position each night.
- Anne (10/5): It was wonderful in every way!! Beautiful site, great location, great value - we will definitely return. - Everything - the shepherd's hut was beautifully crafted and the attention to detail and quality of the accommodation was superb. It was very well thought out and had very practical, clever little touches - everything you would need for your stay. The bed was lovely and comfortable too. I would just like to constructively point out 2 improvements to be made.
1) The plugs in the cupboard were too close to the shelf. I wanted to plug in my hairdryer there but it was too tight.
2) I would put a simple black metal toilet roll holder on the left side of the wooden sink unit (as you look at it) as it was awkward trying to reach the loo roll.
Other than that it was absolutely perfect!!
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Fabulous - Everything Nothing
