• Gerald (6/5): - We did not have dinner in the hotel but did have breakfast which was excellent and the serving staff were very pleasant. The room was smaller than expected and located beside the laundry room which led to unwelcome noise at times.
• Susan (9/5): Tolles Hotel - sehr empfehlenswert für die Gegend - Das Hotel liegt traumhaft am Meer. Die Zimmer waren mit Meerblick. Somit hatten wir eine tolle Aussicht. Es gibt zwei Restaurants. Beide kann ich empfehlen. Jeden Morgen kam man frühstücken.

For anyone using a mobility aid please note you have to walk down 8-10 steps to access rooms. A ramp should be installed near stairs at reception for people using mobility aids. Rooms should be accessible for all!

• marion (9/5): I would give it five star if the other things were in the bedrooms. - Good views, lots of different spaces in hotel to chill or socialise. Breakfast area and food lovely. No air con in bedrooms and bathroom no air very hot. No mini fridge in bedrooms. No safe in bedrooms to keep passports etc.

• Kate (2/5): After numerous amount of stays unfortunately won’t be back - Have been multiples times and usually better Wait in bar was too long for food, had to ask for menus, ask for order to be taken and if they had forgotten our order (which happened before on a separate occasion so wasn’t meant ina bad way) got a rude response off male waiter after asking how long a desert would take he asked “why? are u in a rush or something?” No not in a rush but had just waited 40+ mins for a disappointing main meal. Got a conjoining room with absolutely no sound proofing, could hear the family talking and snoring etc in room beside us.

The room unfortunately was not too clean. I might have been unlucky because the pictures on the website looked much better. The hotel has seen better days but it is still a good choice. A little expensive for what it is

Thare was a gent at the front of house at reception not only was he rude to people trying to check in and also to other members of his own team. • Janice (8/5): - The view from our bedroom was amazing....lovely to look out at Galway bay and the Clare coastline. The staff were also so nice and when we asked for bananas for our toddler at breakfast they went into the kitchen and got some for us. Dinner in the bar was also very nice for me and my husband. The swimming pool was also great for our toddler as they have a kid's pool beside the adult pool. We would stay again. The menu for the kids in the bar is quite limited and probably needs a bit more added to it. We weren't able to get much to suit our toddler.

• Melanie (10/5): Beautiful hotel with an excellent view! - The property has been renovated beautifully. The lobby was gorgeous and the view was excellent as well! The town over has some nice restaurants and a grocery store. Our room could’ve been a bit cleaner but was still nice. Just minor things, the shower had a bit of grime and the windows were dirty with bird poop. That said we would absolutely stay here again!

• John D'A (8/5): Lovely but dated needing a little maintenance - Stunning location and lovely stay, staff were friendly and helpful and the bar onsite had great food. Breakfast very good and we enjoyed our stay and would return. Only feedback would be we had a junior suite and one of the window glazings had moisture spoiling the view and the sun blasted in the afternoon making the room extremely hot with no air conditioning.

• Ariana (4/5): My first disappointed review due to staff and management 😕 - There were a few positives: ○Amazing pool facilities. ○Great location, 20 mins on bus to city centre and close to many attractions in Connemara. ○Food was good. ○Great views. I didn't want to write a review due to the disappointing experience, but one staff member chased us down the hallway with a review card and her name on it, so I feel it's a sign. ○Hotel room wasn't ready for check in time of 4 p.m. Was "ready" at 4,30 and room didn't have enough towels, no tea Bags, blankets weren't tucked in and visible cobwebs and dust. ○There was a wedding on, and children from it were roaming freely and being disruptive at leisure facilities, throwing toys and pool Noodles at people. ○The staff in restaurant were very full of themselves. ○When went to the bar, we sat at table (reception said no reservations needed for bar), ordered drinks. Another staff member came and made us go into side pub as "table was reserved". Music playing in that pub wasn't great. Also, drinks were disappointing, couldn't finish them. As we went back out, "reserved table" was still empty and food was no longer being served. ○First morning breakfast was fine but last morning we were approached by a very chatty staff member who was telling us about her weekend. We left to check out and she chased us down the hallway with a card and her name on it. Wanting a review. She done absolutely nothing to get reviewed. I think that's tacky, if a guest asks for your name, that's fair. Otherwise it looks desperate. ○Bad WiFi connection and mobile data not working. ○Renovations highly needed. ○AS a firmer hotel worker myself, a hotel is only as good as its general managers. If staff is confused on policies, not friendly, overbearing, it's on management to fix. Take this review as constructive criticism. It was okay to stay once but not good enough to return.

• Geoff (8/5): Pleasant stay and ideal position for Galway and the wild Atlantic way. - Very comfortable and very pleasant staff . We have stayed here numerous times over the last twenty years. Restaurant has gone back compared to previous visits. Service was poor and food served cold, lukewarm at best. Breakfast is now self service and not as good quality. There are several restaurants locally that are very good so easy to eat elsewhere.

We only got coffee for breakfast we had paid for as we didn’t have time to wait after ringing to ask reception if it was ready.
