Guest Reviews
- Ellen (9/5): - The house was very well equipped, comfortable and clean. The view was fantastic. Nothing
- Regina (10/5): Perfekt!
- Josephine (8/5): Quiet residential apartment with lovely views - Quiet, water front, great views, spacious property.
Equipped kitchen. Lots of natural light in main room and main bedroom. It was comfortable but not high end. Residential neighborhood albeit nice, did not have a secluded feeling. Kitchen and dining areas quite dark.
- Jacques (9/5): -
- Sophie (9/5): Wonderful view and welcoming host! - Great location, Lydia was super welcoming! It was great for our short stay
- Michael-James (1/5): This is NOT a private "entire villa"; this is a below ground basement suite in a residential home - This accommodation was advertised as a private "entire villa". I discovered prior to check-in that this is actually a single story residential property and the so-called villa is actually a below ground basement suite. I had booked what I thought was a private detached "entire villa" and what was provided was in fact someone's basement in a residential family home. My trip required privacy and discretion and this is not what was actually provided and I ended up making other arrangements. I contacted the accommodation provider to try to cancel the reservation and they refused. I contacted Booking.com support to explain the situation of the accommodation misrepresentation, and while they were sympathetic over the phone, they ultimately did nothing to resolve. I later saw messages exchanged between the accommodation provider and Booking.com support and observed rude and belligerent language from the accommodation provider with respect to their characterization of me. I was forced to dispute the transaction on my credit card and the Merchant's bank eventually sided with my 25 page submission inclusive of 10 exhibits of evidence that the property was in fact misrepresented on this website. In summary, the accommodation provider misrepresented the property on this website, they did nothing to try to resolve, and Booking.com was toothless in enforcing any sort of proper advertising policies, or adjudicating the dispute.
- Juan (8/5): Una linda escapada familiar - La vista al mar y lo equipado de la cocina El ruido de arriba y la luz por las mañanas
- Dharma (6/5): - Location is truly amazing, so close to the ocean and in a beautiful and safe neighborhood.
Beds were plentiful and comfortable, extra pillow were appreciated.
Owner is quick to respond, pleasant and accommodating. The suite is outdated and is lacking board games, extra blankets were not found. We did not use the kitchen, not sure how well equipped it is.
You can hear the owners upstairs quite well but we were there very little.
The most upsetting part was truly how unclean the bathroom was and how much it stunk like mildew, very unpleasant. There was a musk smell all thorough out the unit.
- Floradel (10/5): - We the space and the view.
- Uwe (10/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): Great location great view good value -
- Daniel (10/5): einer der besten Aufenthalt in Canada - Die Ausstattung und die ruhige Lage Das wir nur eine Nacht dort waren
- Jenny (10/5): - Really comfy, warm, welcoming and cozy place
- Volodymyr (10/5): -
- Jane (9/5): - More saucepans for cooking and measuring cups and wine glasses
- Caryn (8/5): This would be suitable for a bigger family. - Location suited our needs. The kitchen layout was awkward.
- Ralf (9/5): -
- Cynthia (10/5): -
- Courtney (10/5): -
- shirley (5/5): Disappointing, the photos expected more - It was clean The photos did not give the impression that it would be in the basement.
- Jason (10/5): You'd love to stay here - One of the best places we've stayed in. Spacious well presented appartment, very well stocked kitchen, perfect veranda and gorgeous views over the George strait watching bald eagles fly around. Quiet neighbourhood, handy for Nanaimo.
- Yosef (9/5): Superb - Awsome view, clean and spacious. My kids loved the cat. Nothing.
- Walter (1/5): Bad -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Stunning view of the ocean from the accommodation and patio.
- Hanson (10/5): Exceptional - The peacefulness.
Beautiful view
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Very nice place, quiet location, host responded promptly to any problems.
Only downside is:
Access to unit is not recommended for seniors with balance or mobility issues.
- Noel (5/5): Passable -
- Larry (9/5): Very nice. - Large rooms, ocean view, comfortable living room. Large beds. I would have liked a desk and chair to work at. The trip for the family was a pleasure trip, but I had to work during the day on my computer. It would have been nice to have a dedicated workspace.
Oh, the kitchen needs a couple of rubber spatulas.
- Rick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Satveer (10/5): Exceptional -
- 100aa (7/5): Good - Very Spacious. Clean. Some nice views in the distance from the one bedroom. Unfortunately lounge has an overhanging deck. In a quiet neighbourhood. Very overpriced for 2. Odd entrance from the side of building, straight into one of the bedrooms which felt like a walk through bedroom. We didn't like the temporary curtain solution, nor the fact that we have to step right into a carpeted area with wet umbrellas and bags. Not practical in rain. No protection from rain on the outside of the entry door either.
Very huge area but kitchen/ dining area especially, and the back bedroom feel as if in a basement. It is a walkout developed basement afterall. A hallowed cavernous feel to the accommodation. Garden very neglected.
Owner aloof, didn't greet us when coming home at similar time and even noticed us from a short distance away. Unfortunately the neighbour from next doors made a nasty comment to us next day, without any provocation on our part or wanting to interact with him. He knew fully well we were the guests, as if unhappy he has bnb next doors. A weird experience with no warmth of a b&b which it tries to market and sell itself as. Size of accommodation is not what makes for a pleasant stay and hospitality lacks here. Felt as if it's all about $, and not being really guest friendly place, nor very helpful either.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, peaceful location. Our host was thoughtful and provided helpful information well before our arrival. Everything we needed was provided and there was loads of space.
- Gale (8/5): Great - Fantastic view I’m disabled and it’s not that disabled friendly
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Blaine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bri (4/5): Wouldn’t go back or recommend - The entrance way was unclear, junk outside the door, but the view was ok, there were plastic pails and a messy unkept yard with old junk laying around took away from it We also found an empty pop bottle by the beside table up arriving. The owner came down and aggressively banged on the door at 9pm, and we’re told to be quiet, our family friends had to leave with their children on NYE while playing a monopoly game - no music was being played and we were not overly loud. They said the property wasn’t built well for sounds.. and the children were laughing to loud :(
They also said it was a villa- which should be detached.. it was not. Add was misleading, saying we had the entire home, when they lived upstairs
- Valerie (8/5): Once in the space was great. Would be lovely in summer. - View and space Said there was a fireplace but it looked like it had never been used. Should not advertise and then tell everyone to not use it. Hard to get into the space with uneven ground and steep steps to get your luggage into the place. Owner was there luckily and he took my stuff in. I have had an injury and they should let people know. Entry steep steps in with no bars to pull up. I had to crawl in and pull myself up on a couch.
- Sarthak (9/5): Superb -
- Larry (10/5): We will look to book again. 👍🏻 - Spacious, clean, and well located. Great views. Access path to entrance/steps was not very well lit at night. There are motion sensors but they are not far reaching or quick enough to activate
- Irene (10/5): Great for girlfriends getaway - Good communication
Very clean & spacious & comfortable
Lovely view, well equipped Nothing
- Kevan (10/5): Thanks very much - Clean, comfortable and quiet. Outside stairs might are a little difficult for older folks to navigate.
- M (9/5): Quiet location, great hosts. Would recommend - Good location and beautiful view. Very comfortable bed and hosts were very nice to deal with.
We had a beautiful kitty come for a quick visit in the morning as we were relaxing having our morning coffee🥰 see pictures Note-Stairs down to the basement suite had good lighting but the stepping stones are uneven so might be challenging to carry luggage for some people with mobility or balance issues
- Jaime (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (5/5): Nice quiet neighborhood AirBnb-type stay. Expensive cleaning fee. - Door code for key lock was helpful. The location was beautiful with big windows overlooking the back yard and water. Full kitchen with all appliances. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. This is more AirBnB and staying in someone's guest basement/house. Main house activity can be heard and wasn't sure if we could use the backyard or a patio as that was part of their house.
A cat roams freely around the back yard. There is a strong cat urine odor in the apartment.
The lighting is a bit strange; in the whole living room there was only one main, very bright, overhead light.
Extremely high cleaning fee but still asked to clean dishes before leaving.
- Sheila (9/5): Clean, comfortable and a breathtaking view. - The view is spectacular. The beds are very comfortable. There is an enormous amount of space, and it is incredibly clean. The kitchen is very well stocked. Nothing.
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynley (10/5): Fantastic stay! Easy to book, great commutation with the host who was super accommodating - Spacious, comfortable, homey, great view! Huge trees
- Colin (9/5): Very comfortable 4 night stay, beds very good. - Views out of the living room windows
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philomena (8/5): Very good - Huge place The dark path to the door.
- Wai (10/5): An excellent place for vacation - The property is located right next to the sea shore and has a wonderful view. It’s only 5 mins drive from a major shopping plaza.
It is clean, very well equipped, and has all the basic stuff for cooking and house keeping.
- Melissa (9/5): Wonderful -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious rooms with everything that you needed for a relaxing stay. Lovely comfortable huge beds.
- Rockwood (9/5): Superb - Very clean, quiet suburban neighborhood with fantastic views. Very private and well equipped. Very helpful owner. A funny mixture of styles and odd position of light switches but really we have to work hard to criticize anything.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally well equipped. Fantastic view of the ocean from the living room and the patio. Comfy beds!
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating. The waterfront view is beautiful, you can see the ocean view from two bedrooms and the living room. There are two bathrooms which is good for large groups of people
Rooms were clean and organized. Kitchen has basic spices and pots/pans which was very convenient as we made our own dinner.
Convenient location. About 5 mins drive away from restaurants and shops, 15 mins drive away from Nanoose Bay shellfishing area and 15 mins drive the other way from ferry terminals
Would definitely stay here again when visiting Nanaimo area!
- Trista (10/5): Exceptional - The view was beautiful with eagles flying through the trees. Perfect location as it is 2 min to shopping mall, groceries restaurants ect. Lots of room to move around with a full kitchen. Will definitely stay again! Lydia was super sweet and available for all of our needs. Private entrance and lots of parking on the street.
