Golf carts showed that they prioritise customer convenience 5. Wood fire hot tub 6. The food!!! There was nothing we didn’t like however, just a few areas of improvement - please consider giving guests the equipment to start the fire for the hot tub themselves and also a placeholder for our own toiletries in the shower.

Amaral (9/5): Lovely winter stay in the bush - The staff were excellent and attentive, the layout of the rooms makes it tricky to walk around in the evening due to the risk of snakes etc. but the staff are super responsive and happy to provide golf carts for transport at a moments notice. Food was also excellent, we tried several dishes and loved them all. Very minor gripes as the stay was lovely, but bigger towels in winter in the rooms for the shower and hot tub would be nice. Also the furniture on the sky room balcony is lovely but not super comfy for lounging so perhaps some extra cushions in the room to be used outside would go a long way.

Mihir Gulabbhai (7/5): - The staff was exceptionally helpful and made you feel at a world class place. The food was amazing portions, different in a good way and exceptionally tasty. The views were incredible and the game drives were fantastic. The private hot tub was a game changer, kept warm at a call away and sungazed into the night. Definely will book the sky room again. Prices were fairly high for the place and expected more. Second room had no smart TV, had no hot water at 1 point, plug points weren't in good locations and hairdryer did not work. Food prices are fairly expensive and should have been discounted for hotel guests. Payed so much for room art but was basic rosemary petals, no further setup no champaigne like other locations, so nothing new or special.

Rob (10/5): Out of this world stay! - Wow! I have to say this is just one of the most magical properties I’ve ever stayed in. I was able to completely disconnect from a busy job and life in general and recharge my batteries. Doing a game drive at the property was wonderful. The food was amazing as was the selection of wines. But what really made it were the staff. Every single person who worked here were so friendly and made you feel so welcome almost like you were their family. I genuinely will come back here again without a shadow of doubt! There is not one thing I can say!

Newton (5/5): See above. - Staff were naively pleasant. It felt like we were dealing with trainees at check in. The restaurant is massive and the number of guests was very few. Especially at dinner, this felt uncomfortable. The "Luxury" room has no bath. We paid to upgrade to a "Luxury plus" room as it shows a bath on the Booking.com site. Reception tried to charge us double for the upgrade. The "Luxury plus" room did not have a bath as stated on Booking.com. We were upgrade again to a room with a bath. The room is in fact a wooden shed structure normally associated with garden tools. The floor creaked and moved. The access walkway to the patio area was broken and sagging. No table on the patio. There was no auditory privacy between the bathroom and the bedroom area. This was a major downside and unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. The occasional chairs were low and uncomfortable - it seemed like just a tick-box item to justify 4 stars. There is no provision for any activity - no gym, no self-guided walks in any part of the grounds. I felt captive and uncomfortable. It is possible to go outside the property onto the main road. We chose the BandB option. The first thing we were told is that we can chose one thing off the menu and only filter coffee, tea, juice was included. No Capuchino or other coffees were included. That seemed petty and inappropriate for 4star hotel. Room service was slow and the food was a quesadilla made with a very old wrap. The food in the restaurant was enjoyable........but I worried about the size of the menu, the small number of guests and the freshness of the ingredients. (we normally just go for lunch). The cost of the wines was outrageous. Having to pay extra for the museum, the game drives, the game walks etc was a shame - it felt like the management had just been on a course in up-selling. Even the pool towels were only available when paying R150.00 deposit. We will not be staying again at the Cradle Boutique Hotel. See above.

Nina (9/5): Beautiful and comfortable hotel, great food - The hotel and surroundings are beautiful. We also visited Inyala Spa which was excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dinner was exceptional. Unfortunately, we stayed over on Human Rights Day and it seemed like there was a party going on at one of the neighbouring venues. The music was extremely loud and disturbed the peace and tranquility we wanted to experience at the venue. However, we know it's not Cradle Boutique's fault.
