• Lisa (8/5): Süße Unterkunft direkt am Strand - Sehr schöne, saubere und neue Unterkunft direkt am Strand. Wir hatten das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss. Dieses ist ziemlich klein und hat keine Ablageflächen für Kleidung und Ähnliches. Und hat es nicht wirklich gestört, da wir nur 3 Tage dort waren.
• catabui (10/5): Excellent - Staff are very accommodating and provide all things we need and requested. Met the owners and they are pretty good to talk with. If we come back to Hiriketiya, we will book the same rooms 👍
• Tessa (9/5): Perfect location for some beach time - Clean and comfortable. Location was just across the road from the beach, at the quiet end for swimming. Limited parking (maybe best to call ahead to arrange) and a very narrow road along the beach. Worth it once you get there!

Le placement de cet endroit est exceptionnel. Nous pouvons le dire c’était le paradis !! La plage, surf, coconut à 5metres de la chambre.

• miriam (10/5): A gem in Hiri - Fantastic location, right on the beach front with parking in front. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Rooms were spacious, modern and spotless. Upstairs is a balcony area where we enjoyed a drink overlooking a view of the bay lit up at night. Shops, ATM and restaurants of the bay were all within walking distance. This place is an absolute gem, I will be recommending to my friends and family.
• Hana (8/5): - The accommodation was right on the beach and was in a great location. The staff were also really friendly and responsive, overall a great place to stay! The air conditioner is very loud. I’m not sure whether it was the A/C, or via the penetration in the wall as it sounded like the wind. The door was also hard to open/close when unlocked/locked.

• Sarah (5/5): Just okay - Great location right on the beach however we learnt that Hiriketiya is very small beach so you can stay anywhere! They called themselves “surf villa” however no spot for your surf boards? Or advice on surfing at all Staff were okay, however they would leave the door wide open at night felt very unsafe and dogs will wonder in that were dirty The facilities isn’t great for what they charge per night Very slack with providing water Not horrible but I wouldn’t stay here again.

• annemieke (10/5): Een 10 met potentie! - Een 10 met potentie om het nog beter te doen! De kamers zijn ruim, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Er is een föhn, koelkast, flesjes water, koffie en thee en handdoeken voor zowel de douch als het strand. De badkamers zijn “open” en dit geeft een grappig effect. Uiteraard wel alle privacy! De airco (met nachtstand) zorgt dat je ‘s nachts goed kunt slapen in de heerlijke bedden. De ligging aan het strand (vanuit de voortuin steek je de weg over van 2 meter breed) is perfect. Of je wilt surfen of wilt liggen op het strand, het an allemaal. De weg is overigens heel rustig. In de omgeving van het hotel zijn leuke restaurantjes, barretjes en als je van yoga houdt kun je om de hoek terecht. Kortom een perfect verblijf (we boekt een nacht extra) in Hiriketiya! Enige kleine minpuntje ia dat het hotel nog niet helemaal af is. Hier zit dus de potentie. Wij komen graag terug over een jaartje om te zien hoe het is geworden. Het hotel wordt gerund door een oudere dame.

• Caitlin (5/5): Good location but not good value for money - Amazing location, pretty clean at beginning. It seemed like another place trying to take advantage of tourism as much as possible with lower than expected value for money. Make sure to bring enough rupees to pay whole stay (does not mention this before booking and they do not accept card or USD). Started construction/hammering on ground floor at 9 am when all guests were still in room. Not sure why this couldn’t have waited til midday or afternoon if guests are checked in. Left feeling exhausted from both outside noise (loud music starting at 7 am from nearby cafes) and inside hammering. We had leaking water near our shower even before we took a shower. Continued to leak whole time, leaving pool of water in bathroom. They do not clean rooms during stay which can be rough when going to the beach daily. Did not provide water except at beginning of stay. Do not have 24/7 support but are nice about answering questions if they’re not otherwise busy.

Stedet er også nært de fleste restauranter, butikker osv. Familien som er der er kjempesnille og hjelpsomme, og tilbydde oss klesvask til en kjempebillig pris. I tillegg til at det ble raskt ferdig. Anbefaler på det sterkeste, du får en kjempebra plass for en kjempebra pris!! Alt var bra!! Siden de ikke har kjøleskap på rommet så hadde de et stort ute i «gangen» vi kunne ha vann osv i, helt fantastisk🤩

The rooms were very generous in size and so impeccably clean. It had everything you could need and more. Ac , indoor out door bathroom, a balcony that you can watch all the monkeys playing in the tree , tea and coffee and also the beaches Brighton your front door step. Our stay here was so lovely and we loved that it was a local family owned hotel and our host Sudhee was the most kind, helpful and amazing host. Nothing was a bother to her and she took care of something we accidentally left behind until we could get our friends to go and pick it up for us. We would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again. Thankyou ✨🫶🐢 Everything was great.

• Roland (10/5): Perfection - What can I say that’s negative about Surf Villa? Honestly—nothing! I was lucky enough to try two of their newest rooms. The first was a huge, spacious room on the first floor overlooking the rainforest. It was incredible watching monkeys swing through the trees while listening to the waves crashing both day and night. Despite being so close to the beach bars and restaurants, the room still felt quiet, peaceful, and secluded. The lovely Sri Lankan family who run the place have clearly put enormous thought into the colour scheme and décor of these beautiful new rooms. Guest experience is obviously their top priority—they will quite literally bend over backwards to help with anything you might need during your stay. Now let’s talk about the new first-floor oceanfront room… wow! You simply could not get any closer to the beach without actually being on it. It has a wonderful balcony that’s perfect for enjoying an evening drink after a surf while watching surfers hang ten on stunning Hiriketiya Beach. The room also features a bathtub with incredible beach views, double wash basins, new air-conditioning, and a fridge. This place is a real find. • Laura (10/5): Amazing location and lovely staff, clean room - Excellent location. Open door basically onto the beach. Very newly done and the owners are always around and very keen to help in person or via WhatsApp. They were very accommodating and let us in our room early and allowed us a late checkout and bags to be stored. On our checkout day after late checkout time I stood on a sea urchin and went back to the accomodation for help. Even though we were well past our stay time they immediately got someone with great English on the phone who advised me to go to a hospital and they then arranged a tuktuk driver to take me there and wait the whole time. We are very grateful for their help. We actually asked to stay longer but sadly they were fully booked. Only suggested addition would be a safe but it wasn't listed in the description so wasn't expecting one.

The room is to the side of the host family's house and they're always around to help out with advice and arranging activities. We booked one night here as we were unsure of our plans. We decided to stay another night in Hiriketiya and we certainly would've stayed an extra night if the room was available.

Only 2 rooms. - You cannot beat the location. 📍⛱️ The owner was the sweetest older lady and I ended up spending a whole week with her. We would often just sit quietly together on the veranda. People watching. She has a washing machine and if you have a couple of days with her and you ask nicely, she'll let you wash some things. The rooms are very budget friendly and they do actually have AIRCON even though it says they don't. I'm going to show her how to change it on booking.com because I think that's why they're quiet. The rooms are very basic. You're paying for the location. But still, for the price, the rooms are good enough. This is an absolute bargain in my opinion. Leaving! 😭 Sometimes, on a morning, I was woken up by the noises on the road and surrounding areas. They're sandwiched between restaurants. So don't expect a sleep in most mornings. If you're happy to be awake at 7.30 then all is 👍🏻👍🏻

The fan was broken when we arrived, and the replacement didnt work. under the bed the floor was dirty. there was basically no space to put bags as bed took up 90% of the room. there were cockroaches that we had to keep removing from the room.

• Severine (2/5): No sleep, too loud, no space - the older couple renting it were very nice everything else.. the bed was so big, it took up almost the entire room. There was barely any room to walk around, let alone open my suitcase. The bathroom was almost as big as the room though. The window was not really sealed, so you could hear the poke place next door and their ultra loud music until after midnight. Then they started some sort of construction work. And the noise started again at 7am, together with the music. My stay here was absolutely horrible. The only good thing about the property is, it is close to the beach. But you wouldn't know because you have zero view.

Surfs Villa is a little house by the beach, with only 2 rooms, so its quiet and secluded. The room is small but has all u need (the AC is great). And its the best location, in the end of the beautiful Hiriketiya beach Ants in the bathroom

• Alice (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the villa is incredible, you step outside the property and you're on the beach! The family are very lovely and friendly and the room had everything we needed and was lovely and clean. We loved Hiriketiya and wished we stayed longer.

• Elinor (10/5): would stay again as the location and the price is worth it!! - location is absolutely fantastic!! across the road from the main beach. staff very friendly and welcoming room was smaller than others i have stayed in but this is reflected in the price and was completely fine as a solo traveller. the location and price is worth it! some mornings i could hear workers in the cafe talking next door but there is a frosted window and a curtain so didn’t really bother me.

• Cassie (10/5): Exceptional - The location was amazing, right on one of sri lankas most beautiful bay beaches, beach was literally just outside the door, the aircon was really good, big comfy bed, great shower with warm water and the cutest dog and cat lived there, the owners were beautiful friendly people, we highly recommend great value for money , they organised transport for us to our next town at a very affordable price, we had a great experience

• Mark (9/5): Delicious food, hospitality, massage and fun surf in Hiriketiya. - The owners Lila and Piyaratna were so kind and helpful. Great ambassadors for Sri Lanka. We originally booked 5 nights but stayed a extra night it was so relaxing with a nice surf beach only metres from the front gate. Perfect for beginners. They cooked us a delicious SriLankan Curry on last night 🙏 Our room was quite small and also only metres from a Cafe. It's not the Hilton but you cannot beat the position and hospitality so that trumps any of the negatives 👌
• Mary (9/5): Step away from beautiful hiriketiya beach - Right on the beach road just steps away from the beach. Can't beat this location. Easy to walk everywhere. Room was very clean. Ac worked well. Just turn it on before you head out for dinner and it's perfect by the time you get back. Lovely host, sweet and friendly. Dining options right in front of you on the beach. The nice large bed made the room feel small. So this lack of space will make it challenging for Longer stays. Short stays would be fine
• Andrew (4/5): Disappointing - It is immediately opposite the beach. Owners are an elderly couple who are very nice and welcoming. Room is tiny. Just enough space to squeeze around one side to the bathroom. Two sides are against walls. Mosquito infested. Room and bathroom are shabby. Peeling paint, dim, tired. No privacy as the one window has a see through curtain.
• Angelar12 (6/5): Very basic and not so comfy, but great location and lovely family! - The location was excellent for people wanting to spend a lot of time on Hiriketiya Beach. The family was SO lovely and kind. They even have a really sweet dog there. I really enjoyed them and their kindness. Unfortunately, my room was filled with mosquitos. There was a perfectly see-through curtain (I tested... at night you can see directly and clearly into the room). There's no space to put your things or change, and there's no privacy because of the lace curtain. You can't change in the bathroom after a shower because the floor is wet, so the kind woman gave me a blanket to hang in the window so that I wasn't on display. The bed took up the whole room, and it wasn't very comfy. There's no plug next to the bed for your phone, and no light or lightswitch near the bed, so if you want to use the mosquito net (you DO), you have to fumble your way through the dark with no phone to get back into it. It was just not relaxing or comfy.
• Hannah (10/5): Booked for 1 night, stayed for 3! - The room is small, but you just can’t beat the location of this place, 50m from the beach. The hosts were absolutely delightful and we felt so comfortable here. We loved it so much that we ended up staying for 2 extra nights and would have stayed even longer if it wasn’t already booked! We miss this place already! Thank you so much. Not the property’s fault, but next door start playing loud music at 7am every morning. This seems totally unnecessary for a small coffee shop!
• Alexander (9/5): Superb - Perfect location, just cross the road and you reach the beach. Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Actually nothing to complain except that the dog starts barking in the middle of the night which cost me some sleep.
• Katherine (9/5): Great location with very welcoming hosts - Location is amazing, right opposite the beach. Very sweet friendly couple who own the villa. Aircon, hot shower, electric kettle in the room. Room is quite small, but has a terrace so you can sit outside. The size wasn’t a problem for us.

• Bettina (10/5): Cozy place right at the beach - This was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka. When we entered there was a great smell of freshly cleaned. For me it had one of the best showers here with great water pressure. The location was amazing right at the beach and the host couple was extremely nice.
