Guest Reviews

Chambre super
- Matthew (10/5): I love Hue! - Everything was good! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Lots of good food nearby and within walking distance to almost everything! Nothing!
- Thảo (9/5): -
- Tram (9/5): Wonderful experience - The location was a quiet place in a small alley. I live in dorm with 6 beds. Large bed with light, curtain and socket. Hot water is available, you only need to turn the button on. Walking distance from the citadel (recommended if you want to take a run around the citadel). Surrounded by local people, small market and many local foods. Nice experience since this is 2nd time I booked this place. The room need to renovate. The wallpaper was damaged.
- Po-lin (8/5): Very good - The housekeeper is helpful. Not all beds have plugs.
- Khôi (8/5): Very good -
- Marc (9/5): Great Hotel in a super quiet Backstreet - I had the room with the two double beds. It has a window so you get fresh air. The room is small but very cozy. The bathroom is huge, so it was a pleasure to use it. Nice hot shower.
The best thing of the whole place is - it is quiet. No car and motorbike noise. And the lady that runs the place is very friendly and helpful. There are mosquitoes
- Stephanie (5/5): Great location, very small room. - Good location close to the imperial city. Room was quite small for two people and had no garden view.
- Ly (7/5): Good -
- Addis (7/5): Good - good location, large bed, large locker basic facilities, mosquito, thin blanket in winter, staff cant communicate with english
- Roman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Léo (6/5): Nice located and staff but do not take during wet season - The property is nice located for the price it’s a really good deal cause you are central and in the old city ! The staff is really nice ! Special thanks to the lady working doing the reception ! The rooms needs a serious fresh up refreshed, wall paper was damaged by time and humidity. I visit Hue during wet season tho, but the humidity in the rooms was really insane (smell and spots on walls curtains bathroom doesn’t dry during the day cause of it).
Note to the manager : dehumidifiers are more than required
- Yashika (8/5): Very good -
- Alice (6/5): Pleasant - Bedroom didn’t have proper doors, just sliding glass, so it was quite loud outside
- Roman (10/5): Gorgeous - Very Goood Location. Comfortable Beds!
- Niall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordi (3/5): If you don't like sleep, this is amazing - Not that much, we could leave our luggage in a spare room after checkout. And we could swim/walk to the imperial city A lot. At first we could not find the homestay because it is another location than Google Maps says. We finally found the alley leading to the homestay, but because of the rain the whole alley was flooded. There was 10 cm of dirty water we had to walk through. When we came in, no one was there and when I called the phone number she did not pick up the first 3 times. We did specify the time we would arrive. After a while she called back and said the door of the room was open. After a bit of a search we found the key.
There was no window in the room like on the pictures, there was a small window in the bathroom.
In Vietnam all the beds are hard, but this one was especially hard and uncomfortable.
And the homestay is super noisy, the walls between the common area and the room are thin like ricepaper, so when a group of other guests were having dinner at 2 in the morning we could hear it all. We could also 'enjoy' the karaoke from the neighbours and some straycats joining in.
We are glad we only stayed one night.
- Tuyet (7/5): Good - Large bed
In quiet area
Good to have a quick stop and go
Good hot shower Not nice staff, noisy at night cannot sleep
- Vũ (5/5): Passable - The owner is cute and friendly, and the communal area is designed for comfort. The discomfort came from another person (dormitory room). When I checked in, two other guests were also unwell. As someone with a sensitive nose, it was hard to stay due to the smell of sweat.
- Andrei (7/5): Small clean and noisy - The room was clean and I had a kettle The room was very tiny and it was a bit inconvenient to use a kettle: you have to boil water while keeping the kettle on your bed...
One more thing - the hotel is arranged like a patio - the kitchen is surrounded by rooms with glass walls...so if anyone cooks or drinks you 100% hear their movement being in your room. So to speak, if you look for a calm ambience - don't go here on holidays at least.
The parking lot is a narrow hall between houses: no parasols or canopies: your bike will be straight in the sun.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Nguyễn (8/5): Very good - great location and supportive host low-quality soundproofing, so I couldn't sleep properly at night when other guests checked in and kept locking and opening doors and used the bathroom.
- Bex (7/5): Good - The staff was nice and let us check-in early, and wait in the common area for our bus after our stay.
They gave us a delicious check-in drink.
We only stayed 1 night so it was fine for what we needed for a night. the "garden view" was 1 small plant behind a small glass door- that's fine but just didn't match our expectations of a room with a garden view. Maybe it varies per room.
the rooms all face towards the center and it felt a bit odd
- Bon (9/5): Superb -
- Marco (8/5): Very good -
- Quang (6/5): Suitable for short stay - Clean, cozy, nice staff Small room, narrow alley can be flooded when it's heavy rain, poor soundproofing ( I can hear voices and other sounds from the next room and the neighborhood AT NIGHT)
- Perrault (9/5): Quite and comfortable place in the heart of the Hué Citadelle - It’s quite for a place in the heart of Hué, very clean and comfortable.
You can rent bikes and scooters, have free water I would be easier if the staff speak English, but it isn’t a real issue with the translator now
- Ciaran (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (9/5): Superb - Helpful staff in a comfortable 4 bed dorm. No complaints.
- Ksenia (10/5): Exceptional - A bit cramped but overall it's lovely and very clean.
- Ngoc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marlene (9/5): Superb - A very sweet little Homestay
Close to the city centre and everything you need in walking district. Bike and scooter hirer possible. The English of the staff wasn't the best but it wasn't a problem. Google translator is our best friend in Vietnam. Free water provided, cattle, cutlery and cups. Happy
- Jj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lola (8/5): Very good - Very nice stay, thanks you !
- Tan (9/5): Far - The price is cheap, location is… not bad, but need to take motorbike if wanna explore area The staff forget the change the blank sheet, always remember to check if it clean!!!!
- Olivier (7/5): Good -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (9/5): Awesome stay near the Imperial City - The location was brilliant if you want to be close to the Imperical city. I also loved being at the end of a small alley as ut gave you a small insight as to how the people live in the city. The owner is lovely and offers motorbike and bicycle. She can also help you organise transfers if needed. It was a perfect spot to unwind in Hue 😊
- Ryan (9/5): Cheap but nice - The room and bathroom were modern, elegant and clean. The A/C was much appreciated as well. The homestay's location was perfect for us, as we wanted to stay in the old city and explore the citadel. The staff were kind and helpful despite having little English. Very reasonably priced so great value for money. The bathroom walls seemed to sweat a lot and one of the bedroom walls had moisture coming from it, probably as it has another room's bathroom on the other side. This wasn't a big problem for us, but it is something that will lead to future issues.
- Rosie (10/5): Exceptional - I really enjoyed my stay here! Great location, friendly owner, comfy bed. The bunk beds have curtains. 4 to a room also feels like luxury!
- Delia (7/5): Okay for the money - Great location and friendly staff. People were smoking in the common area/ kitchen just outside the bedrooms which you could smell in the rooms. The shower was quite cold. The bed sheets were not fresh and had stains but were changed upon request.
- Florian (7/5): Good - Host was nice. Only cold water, AC didn't work and it was a bit dirty
- Di (10/5): Perfect - Large room and large bed. Only four guests in a room. Everything is clean and nice. Good location and kind host. The best hostel I've lived.
- Juni (9/5): Superb -
- Pawel (10/5): Exceptional - The best place! Very clean, nice service and helpful owners. Great location - close to the Imperial Citadel. Nice building and lots of space. I would highly recommend!:)
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional - There was no toilet paper in the bathroom
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Camila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liwia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harriet (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Loveliest staff at this cute home stay. - Our favourite part of this property was the sweet lady who worked there. She didn’t speak much English but was very keen to communicate with us using Google translate and we had good laughs when the app translated things very wrong. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable there. The place is also really cute and nicely decorated. Down a little alley it is very quiet and peaceful, whilst still being so close to the imperial palace which we came to see. A few ants in the room. But this was probably our fault because we brought a sugary snack into the room from the train, oops.
- Lucia (6/5): No homestay and no hotel either - Bathroom was spacious and clean. Common area looked nice, lots of plants and lovely decor. This was not a homestay, there was no “home” feeling or welcome. Once we arrived we were immediately asked for payment without showing us the room, they didn’t even offer us water first, which was normal in all the other homestays we had been before. We had contacted them on booking a few days in advance asking for some recommendations on drivers/guides that could show us around in Hue, but we have never received a reply. No one spoke English at the premise, so maybe that was the reason. Most of the time no one was there either, so we couldn’t even asked simple questions that we could have managed with Google translate.
The appliances mentioned in the room description on Booking (tv, minibar, fridge, etc.) are not in the room, but in the small common area. Only a kettle is provided in the room, but you still have to use it in the common area as the chord is too short to plug it in the room.
- Clara (10/5): It is such a great place to stay - The location near from the center, the quality of the dormitory (clean, spacious), beds were very comfortable. We were able to rent a motorbike for only 100K vnd. The woman who welcomed us was so kind.
- Semir (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (7/5): Away from the tourist hub, in the citadel and within walking distance of the imperial palace - Good location if you want to be in the citadel, away from the tourist hub and close to the imperial palace (walking distance). Some amenities in the communal area would’ve been nice, there was a kettle but no tea or coffee
- Hữu (10/5): Friendly staff, beautiful room and a pleasant stay. - Great location! It’s right next to the Imperial Palace. The blanket in my room was very thin, like a bed sheet. I wouldn’t call it a blanket.
- Macy (5/5): Passable - Really clean, comfy bed and great facilities overall. Staff are also lovely. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t stay again as we were kept awake into the early hours of the morning by adults and children screaming and shouting, continuously slamming doors (not sure if they were guests of the homestay either). This happened both nights that we stayed here. Such a shame as the property is otherwise really nice but wouldn’t recommend to anyone who values a good nights sleep.
- Connor (7/5): Good -
- Shutaro (8/5): Very good -
- Sinjoon (8/5): A Gem in an Alley - Water was provided at the common area where the lady boiled water daily. You can also boil the water yourself if you want to make a hot drink. Air-conditioning was not cold for the upper bunk bed.
- Mirela (9/5): Superb - The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was extremely hot outside during my stay and I can say that the air conditioning worked the best during all my trip in Vietnam. The location was easy for me to find, it is a side street with local houses and in a neighborhood for local people. The place it is just a house that has been remodeled to have a few private rooms and a dorm, so the common area it is just a small space. There is no reception, only a local lady that takes care of the place, cleaning and check in people, but she doesn't speak English at all (she is around during the day, so just make sure if you arrive very early or very late, you let them know). If you need to communicate something, it is better to contact the owner on the whats app number.
- Riccardo (8/5): Very good -
- Guillaume (9/5): Superb -
- Khắc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hartmann (8/5): Very clean dorms and comfort but still lacking in the welcoming feeling of a homestay. - I liked that the place was very clean, both the dorm room and the bathroom. The hosts offer slippers, so that the floors stay this clean. Also, I was able to go directly in to the room when I arrived in the morning. You can tell that the place is extremely new. I loved that the rooms have lockers with keys, so you don't need to bring your own. It was also very cute that the host put little candies in the common area. It's very nicely located I think. I was missing the welcoming homestay vibes. I felt the hosts to be very straight forward and not as familiar as I experienced it in other homestays. I missed the common area for guests to sit in. I didn't like that the host was sitting the whole time in the common area watching videos without headphones.
- Elke (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is beyond sweet and try to help you as much as she can!
The bed is very comfortable and spacious and the room is super clean.
It's a bit tricky to find the place at the beginning, since it's in a small ally but don't hesitate to ask the security guard at the aim street,i felt like he was used to it to give the direction and was super friendly.
Highly recommend to stay here.
- Evamarie (10/5): perfect - everything was good, matress large and comfortable and the bedsheets very qualitatives. best Homestay so far Lala is amazing
very clean aswell nothing
- Vera (10/5): Great - Great location. Small but very clean and comfortable room.
Plenty of local eateries around.
The rental bike was in good condition (which is not that common, actually, lots of places rent out very beaten-up bikes). No a/c on the lobby/common area, so if you need to hang around and wait, it's really hot
- Matthew (10/5): An excellent place to stay in Hue! - Excellent location with lots of good food stalls nearby. Located within the citadel and all the attractions are nearby. Rooms were very clean and very comfortable. The staffs were also all very friendly and helpful. It was also every affordable! I would definitely stay here again! Nothing
- Oline (10/5): I stayed in the dorm room. - The bed was very spacious. The bathroom was really nice, clean and modern. Different family members helped me and chatted with me, eventhough some of them did not speak any English. The homestay could not be seen from the street as it was behind the other buildings. Therefor, it was very calm when it was located away from the street. It was a bit difficult to find, but then I welcomed by the family. They were also ready to help me with recommended food and places.
- Chi (10/5): Highly recommended. - Biggest bed ever for dorm.
Nice building.
Wonderful staff. She cares about you.
Location near the secondhand clothes market. Nothing.
- Orsolya (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place, new and clean, the owner and the housekeeper lady are super nice. Highly recommend it if you want to stay in the old town. They also have a property in the new part of town.
