Guest Reviews
- Camelia (10/5): We loved supporting this local women owned and operated business. The owners are truly wonderful people who are passiona - The views and the people Nothing
- Christopher (9/5): Beautiful views. Caring staff and good comfort - Nellie was outstanding in communication with us. We were very appreciative of all she did. We stayed two nights (intending 3) and came for the Gorilla trek at Buhoma. Due to illness we were unable to visit the gorillas, but did visit the Pangolin Rescue Centre which we enjoyed. The staff at Bwindi Neckview Lodge were very kind. The meals were delicious and nutritious! The bed was comfortable. It is a good hour to the Buhoma Gate and the treks start early so be prepared for an early start if that is what you came for. The road to the accommodation is slow going, so allow time. All in all, though disappointed not to see the gorillas, we were happy with our visit here. The views from the deck are gorgeous! Nil

- Guy (8/5): - Le service
- Larry (8/5): -
- Ramana (10/5): Very happy to stay with them. - The view is amazing. The lodge is set in a beautiful mountain top and has cozy rooms as well as common area. Restaurang and drinks for reasonable price. Staff was SO nice and helpful and very organized Nothing o say 😁
Tolle Aussicht in ruhiger Lage.

- Ireneusz (6/5): - Nice big room, clean with comfortable bed. Beautiful view from the terrace. Not any storage for luggage. Lack of privacy- no sound insulation from neighbours behind the wall. Large meal portions, but overpriced. No hot water in the bathroom.
- Ariella (10/5): Amazing staff with unbeatable views - Views were amazing, staff was lovely and courteous, and facilities were very clean. It was a little further away from the ranger station for gorilla trekking than we realized, but that was on me for not checking.
- Charlotte (9/5): An wonderful few nights in the rainforest - The lodge is in a great location for birding, set on the ‘neck’ of Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest. Stunning views of the rainforest and particularly spectacular sunrises. Lots of Sunbirds and BeeEaters visiting the property daily.
The food was fantastic, very fresh and lovingly prepared. The staff really made the trip - there to help at every turn and make our experience a memorable one. No electric for charging in the room, only lights. But charging can be done in the main lodge bar area.
- Monteiro (10/5): Amazing stay in an amazing place - The amazing view and the staff / owner who were very friendly and helpful! We loved everything but note that the road to access to lodge is rough. You must have a 4x4
- Angelika (10/5): We keep excellent memories of the Neckview lodge. - The location is great, the rain forest is right in front of you. The whole property looks very cultivated. We have been there for three nights.
The breakfast with fresh fruits was a good start in the morning. All stuff members are very, very friendly, helpful - like good friends. We had applied for Gorilla tracking month before and everything was done just fine. Nelly, the manager does a great job. Also the transfer from Bwindi to Entebbe was managed. The Batwa people (pygmy's) live close by, it is worth to visit them.
Thanks to Dennis - we had a great time with the Batwa, it was even very emotional.
Thanks to all stuff members, especially to Nelly. She is a great manager. The roads there are in breakneck conditions but that is the Governments responsibility.
- Ellie (10/5): - Absolutely magical place. We felt like family and loved every second. Perfect place. Highly highly recommend Nothing
- Joanna (3/5): We were sorry for booking this lodge - The views are spectacular. And that's about the only thing. We booked a double room and got a triple adjacent to another room, we were told no other room was available. We could hear everything going on in the other room, including the toilet sounds of our neighbours. Also, a rat running at night either in our room or below the floor - we slept with lights on and checked out in the morning. Dinner was not eatable and insufficient. The staff was not welcoming and unprofessional. We could only charge one thing at a time as there was a burning smell from a socket when more items were plugged in.
- Katharina (10/5): Great stay in a great lodge with a breathtaking view and lovely people. - The view & the people <3
We had a great time with Nelly and the team. They were all so welcoming and helpful. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Nelly is just lovely. She opened up a new hobby for us - which is “Birding” and showed us how its done. Good talks, good times. Thanks for everything! Some cold beer would be nice but this is just typical austrian wishful thinking, not a necessity.
- Janis (9/5): Superb - Neckview:
We had an amazing stay with a lovely view over the Rain forest, delicious food and very friendly and helpful hosts and service. Thank you to everyone who made our stay special at Neckview Lodge We would recommend a 4x4 car to get access to the lodge because the access is very steep and can be slippery while raining
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is so very friendly, they gave us such a warm welcome.
The food is great and ohhhhh, the location is one you can only dream of!!
I will miss this place 💚
- Katharina (7/5): very friendly staff, beautifully located -
- Aaron (9/5): Amazing view in a serene place with a great host. - The staff at the lodge were great and insightful on the region and history. The mission of the lodge to help the community was a breath of fresh air. The views of the neck of Bwindi are amazing and worth the jarring car journey. It's a peaceful place that I would recommend to others. There was an issue with the water while there that likely needs some attention but nothing that couldn't be overcome.
- Jonas (10/5): Great lodge with an amazing view of the forest - Great lodge with the most amazing view of the forest! It’s located in a very quiet and peaceful area but it is easy to get there from Buhoma and Ruhija. Nelly and her staff are amazing and you always feel like home. I look forward to coming back. I liked everything.
- Lenka (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place suitable for relaxation. The most beautiful views in all of Uganda. Very friendly staff. very good communication and the lodge also arranged permits for gorillas and chimpanzees. They took very good care of us. the food was also excellent. A bit inconvenient was that the shower had very little water. Also charging bateries was not possible in the room. But the care we received made up for it all.
- Stephan (10/5): Fantastic rooms and a stunning view - We can highly recommend the Neckview Lodge - the location including the view is a dream, it is very cosily furnished, totally clean, spacious, the staff is super nice, helpful and attentive and we were also delighted with the food. We felt completely at home & would have loved to stay longer in this great place ... definitely one of the best accommodations on our trip! We were really well looked after, taken on several nature and community walks through the area and accompanied on our gorilla trekking (to make sure everything went well). Thanks to the whole team and especially to Nelly & Ella - we would love to come back one day.
- Susanne (9/5): Superb - The team was super kind and helpful, the manager even drove with us to the park entrance for the gorilla trekking and waited for us there until we came back. We also enjoyed the food, which was a lot! They could be a bit clearer in their communication sometimes. If you wanted to shower, you had to let them know and they would come to your room and ensure you got hot water, but this took quite some time without us knowing what exactly we were waiting for.
- Clay (8/5): A challenging road leads to a jungle paradise that is well worth the journey - This property is perched on a steep ridge overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Accessing it is not for the weak of heart, especially in the mud, but a solid 4x4 will get you there no prob. Once you arrive it’s like you have ascended Mt. Olympus and are relaxing with the gods in a jungle heaven! The views are mind blowing, the service top shelf, and the rooms are modern and comfortable.
- Ella (9/5): Excellent - The breakfast was excellent. The slope to the cottages
- Nelly (10/5): Exceptional - This is truly one of the best places to stay, right in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The forest views are breathtaking and you feel completely immersed in nature. The staff went above and beyond and it was the best service we received on our 5 week trip. The food was delicious! There is also plenty to do in the area - gorilla trekking (a must!), nature walks, community walks, and visiting a local school in Buhoma which I highly recommend.
Thank you Bwindi Neckview Lodge, we’ll definitely be back.
