• T (10/5): Best homestay we have ever found! - Emmanuel is a great host, always helpful but never intrusive. His home is in a lovely quiet residential area of Rotherham with easy on-street parking. The facilities are exactly as described, and always spotless and welcoming. We visit the area regularly and choose to return here each time. Nothing we didn’t like!

Emmanuel is een voortreffelijke en vriendelijke gastheer. Het voelde al na een paar dagen echt als een 'home away from home'. Absoluut niet de schuld van Rowan House maar er is weinig te doen in de directe omgeving en in het donker oversteken als voetganger is er een uitdaging.

The host was also very patient and helpful with things. I would’ve appreciated it if there was a hook in the bathroom to hang my clothes/towel up for when I took showers.

• Hil (8/5): I would definitely stay here again - I couldnt find the key lockbox on arrival but owner could not have been more welcoming . He appeared 5 mins later to help me. Bed was super comfortable (I have musculo skeletal pain issues and I need not have worried). Tea, coffee, fridge , cups, crockery and cutlery available if washed up after using. Strict no eating upstairs but all of downstairs was open to guests. It was wonderfully quiet. I wasn't disturbed by noise of other guests. All scrupulously clean and beautifully presented.. The curtains in my room let in too much light which made it hard to sleep, they need blackout fabric stitching into them. The bedside lamps had no on off switch, one of them had no bulb.

There's a shared kitchen, dining room as well as the bathroom upstairs. Parking is free on the street so you don't have to choose the more expensive room that comes with the parking. We were knocking for a while to get in when the host was behind the door chatting with other residents instead of opening the door We found random plates with cooked food inside different cupboards next to clean dishes and pots with dirty water in the oven.

Very similar to an air b&b as we had control as to if we wanted to use the kitchen, had our own fridge and dining room! Also the upstairs bathroom lights are really cool, they have like a party mode so when you take a shower you can shower in rainbow lights! It was very warm one of the nights so perhaps maybe a fan for the room, other than that it was lovely.

My daughter had been competing at an event so we had a very quiet night and were undisturbed by others. The owners answered all questions and made us feel very welcome and at home. The room was bright and clean and very comfortable. A lovely and very helpful stay.

The sheets on the bed were not good quality, pure cotton needed. The towels and sheets were over fragranced with chemicals. The wardrobe needs revising to allow for the tv to be better placed. • Mina (9/5): Lovely house! - The room was very clean and tidy. The bathroom also was very clean. Check-in and check-out were easily organized. There is a decent dinning room, and a well-equipped kitchen. The house was very clean in general, and it's a decent place to stay in Rotherham, whether for a night or more. Some minor comments: 1. Quiet time starts at 11 pm. I think residents may have liked it a bit later (like midnight). 2. No visitors allowed. I can understand that there should be no overnight visitors, but what about just bringing a friend for some tea or a board game during the day? 3. I can see that there were almost 4 guest rooms, but only one bathroom for them all. I think it would be a bit much if there wasn't another toilet/shower to use. As I said, these are all minor concerns, and haven't caused me any trouble. Overall, it was a lovely stay!

• Patrick (10/5): Would recommend to anyone - I was homeless for about 4 weeks and used my first pay to book a long weekend at the property to recover and I couldn't of picked a better place to stay the owners were I incredibly friendly and so welcoming it felt like home. When I was first shown to my room I was amazed at the layout and effort put into making my room feel like home :). The house was very clean and well organised. I would recommend this property to anyone looking anyone to come stay with them 🙂🙂 you were a blessing from God I couldn't write a bad word as there wasn't anything to say bad about

• Rosa (8/5): Very good - I have been in all the available hotels and rooms in Rotheram as I had to book while on placement and in the end Rowan House has been the room where I have been most comfortable regarding bed quality, cleanliness and quiet. I was surprised because it is in a house, not a hostel, but that does not make a difference. Coffee, tea and herbal teas in the room and the bed was really comfy. The first time I came I was not sure if I was at the right place as the house is in a corner. The name and number of the street is clearly signalled but the sign ' Rowan house' is only visible once you open the gate and go down the stairs towards the house. I called the host and he reassured me I was at the right place
