• Peter Schrammen (3/5): Didn't stay the full length to save our sleep and comfort - Location is the only positive ting that comes to mind. - Lighting in the bedroom: there is a very bright emergency light and a fire alarm indicator light that cannot be turned off, as well as a light in the door area that stays on permanently. Together they make the bedroom uncomfortably bright at night, making it very hard to sleep. - Smell: there is a strong artificial room fragrance throughout the apartment which we find unpleasant, and unfortunately there is also an odor of urine in the bathroom. - The futon mattresses are extremely thin and uncomfortable — we genuinely felt like we were sleeping directly on the floor. While futons are mentioned in the listing, we did not expect them to be this minimal. - The apartment receives very little natural daylight, making it dark and difficult to spend time in during the day — we had to keep artificial lights on at all times. - There was significant noise from the neighborhood one night, with people partying nearby, which further disrupted our sleep.

• Aura (10/5): Estupendo apartamento muy bien ubicado - Muy amplio, cómodo y limpio. Súper acogedor en una localización perfecta para visitar Gion y los alrededores a pie. Un poco frío por la noche al estar en un bajo (pero tiene calefacción)

• Krystle (7/5): - Excellent location I was under the impression that there were beds in the apartment because the photos showed beds and I didn’t expect to be sleeping on thin futons on the ground for a week, which was very uncomfortable. The futons had marks/stains on them. No special Japanese toilet.

• DAN (5/5): - 地理位置很不错，出门就是公交车站，京都公交比较方便。 到八坂神社-5分钟 到二年坂、三年坂、清水寺，慢慢走20-30分钟 到鸭川20分钟 到购物商圈建议坐公交去，然后走回来 到银阁寺也是，坐公交去，沿路走回来 附近饭馆比较多，想吃就提前在google上预定即可 1、希望枕头、被褥的套用质量好一点的，并且能够干净一点 2、希望可以提供晾衣服的架子（因为我们住了8天时间比较久，需要洗衣服并且有地方可以晾衣服） 3、希望可以提供自行车，有的时候不想走路 4、马桶希望清洁的更干净些 5、希望能够提供洗衣机清洗液，或者提前帮忙清洗一下洗衣机

Shops very close by too. The only thing that could be done better is hanging space for washed clothes - a couple of rods in bathroom or in main area would help travellers.

• Kelly (9/5): Great spacious accommodation perfect location - Wonderful accommodation! My family of 3 had a great stay here in Kyoto. 10/10 location for Gion walking. Quick walk to the train station, river and markets. The room was massive! We were very impressed with the size. The only thing that let us down was the heating was quite inadequate for the size of the space. There was one air-conditioning unit that just didn't heat up the whole place. We still very much enjoyed our stay but it would have been nice to come back to accommodation where we could have been in just a tshirt.

• Christopher (8/5): Wonderful place, and better directions for entry are needed. - The place was spacious, clean, and simple. The manual on how to use the systems in the place, like heat, TV, etc, were clear and well done. Having a kitchen to use was a real plus. And the location was great for the places we wanted to see, most of which were on the east side of Kyoto. I would recommend this place. I was told by booking.com that I would receive an email from the owner giving me directions and instructions for gaining access. I did not receive any email. The address alone was not sufficient to find the place. We spent an hour and a half, with three different very helpful Japanese people, each one trying in succession, to help us find the door to the place. We repeatedly texted the owner for help, who was slow to respond. More clear instructions as to how to find the place are needed before someone arrives.
• Matthew (9/5): Great stay, and amazing location! - I loved the location of the property as it was a few minutes from Gion corner, a few minutes from Yasaka temple, 2 minutes to the nearest bus stop and then 7 minutes from the Gion station. • Jenn (1/5): Do not recommend - The location was right in gion There were no beds! The photos advertised beds, a couch and an apartment with rooms. This was just a converted office space, zero rooms, no beds! We slept on the floor on barely padded sheets, and when I called the property about it they said the room with beds were occupied. Absolutely absurdly priced for what it was. There were not even futons, it was just a tiny, cushion less pads
• Karin (6/5): A lovely and compact apartment on the ground floor, in case windows are not important. - A compact apartment with a lovely interior that has everything one needs for shorter or longer stays. The instructions for using appliances were clear and useful, everything worked. Location is close to main shopping, food and sightseeing areas, easy to reach. The tatami floor was nice. I stayed for 2 weeks in June-July, when it rained quite a lot, and the apartment became damp, clothes did not dry and everything had a specific smell. There was a cockroach in the room. The apartment was on the first floor and had no windows that could be opened. Furthermore, the only window it had was facing the small side street and had thus painted glass (could not see through). Thus it was damp and dark, had to use lights in daytime. I put some furniture on the tatami floor, and was charged exorbitant price since the owner claimed the tatami had to be fixed. I paid. But I wished there were a warning about this, as it was my first stay in tatami-floor house, and I did not know about it.
• Niccolo (10/5): Lovely neighborhood. Easy access elsewhere. Comfortable and well-kept apartment. - It was wonderful to have immediate access to Gion and Maruyama Park. We appreciated the comfort of the apartment, how well-equipped it is, the quiet neighborhood, and the free bike access. Nishiki was easy to get to by walk. Arashiyama and Inari were easy to access with public transport. The host was also very responsive. It was a wonderful stay. We got scared about a missing bike light that the host said we would need to replace. We used the bikes during the day and did not pay attention to the lights. The light turned out to be in the bike basket and there was a screw needed to mount it and the screw was on the ground which took some finding. The host asks you take photos after you use the bike. My advice: take photos before you use the bike as well to avoid the implication of any damage or losses. Even so, we think the host was only being diligent and we appreciated their responsiveness and helpfulness.
• Markus (10/5): Staying in the Heart of Kyōto - The Appartment is very spacious,clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful week in Kyoto. The Gion area and the Yasaka shrine as well as a busstop to the main lines is just around the corner. There are plenty of great Restaurants nearby. Highly recommended for a complete reasonable Price.

• Tim (8/5): Great location. - Location was amazing and easy to find with the directions we were given. It's right near Yasaka Shrine and an easy walk to Gion, Kiyomizu-Dera and Yishiki markets. Bus stop to the station etc only a minute's walk away. Apartment felt massive after staying in Tokyo and having a washing machine and drying rack was also really handy. The apartment was quite cold when we arrived, but the aircon/heater warmed it up quite quickly. The host sent multiple messages ensuring we had the code, were happy with our stay and confirming check-out time, but it felt a bit impersonal compared to staying in a hotel.
