Guest Reviews
- Roy (9/5): Great location and excellent facilities. - Quite rural location. Lots of footpaths to explore. Heating controller was complicated. Instructions could have been in the welcome info folder.
- Lindsey (7/5): Cosy cottage in quiet road, part of charming village. Ideal stop over for pilgrims. - Lovely village, quiet road, enclosed garden for dogs. House warm and cosy. We had no introduction to the cottage and no instructions on how to get in (key safe etc) and use the heating. It was sorted out with a phone call and text but I checked my emails + spam - nothing from the owner. It would have been more welcoming to have wood available to use for the fire (we had walked there from Canterbury) and soap + shampoo in the shower. I don’t think people had been in the cottage for a while - the outside furniture was soaking from rain and growing mould.
- Christian (9/5): Superb - Beautiful cottage, just a shame we didn’t stay longer.
- Anne (6/5): Short stay - Quiet location House felt very much like someone’s home and not a holiday home, unfortunately the house wasn’t as clean as it should have been, carpets very dusty especially bedroom one’s, had they been hoovered the dirty socks would have been found behind the mirror in master bedroom, lots of cobwebs which is understandable for an old home but sofa is very worn.
Pillows not the best, very hard!
Smell on arrival wasn’t cery pleasant and unfortunately didn’t leave the downstairs bedroom so we didn’t use it.
- Gideon (9/5): Quiet, out of the way gem - Quaint cottage in a quiet location
Lovely garden views. Beds comfortable and a decent shared bathroom.
Abundant Birdlife. Steep narrow staircase was an interesting challange and tall people needed to avoid hitting overhead beams.
- Steph (5/5): Passable - Quick response to a problem when we locked ourselves out (although this could have been avoided if the key to both doors was in the key box or its location was flagged in the welcome info) Not the cleanest of places, shocked at the state of the downstairs mattress cover when stripping the bed on departure. Having booked for 5 guests, disappointed to find only 4 dining chairs.
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful garden
- Gregg (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (7/5): A lovely characterful cottage that felt very homely although it could have been a little cleaner. - House was ideal in many ways and had everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Really characterful cottage and the inglenook fireplace is really lovely. The house was not very clean. The carpets, kitchen and bathroom floors were dirty around the edges and under tables, the microwave was really quite dirty inside and out, the table had ketchup on it and the toaster had dog hairs stuck on it.
Many of the doors are very low and very narrow so not ideal for larger people. I’m only 5,9 and still banged my head a few times!
We arrived in the dark and completely missed the first gate near the carpark so the instructions to the lock box made no sense. May be helpful to specify the gate to the back garden as we were looking by both gates in the front garden(near the Daffodil Cottage sign).
- Carolyn (8/5): It was enjoyable and we would book it again - It was easy to find and very good for the purpose we wanted it for. It was close to amenities. The house was comfortable and met our needs. The garden was great as it was secure for the dog, which has been a problem with other properties. It could have been a little cleaner. A manual for appliances maybe helpful although owners were helpful when we contacted them
- Carsten (9/5): Beautiful, rustic and cozy large house - rustic and cozy large house, comfortable
- Katherine (10/5): Welcoming, Comfortable, Homely. - Delightful quintessential period cottage, three bedrooms perfect for us (3 friends over 60 down for a wedding). Kitchen well equipped, pretty enclosed garden, Sky telly a bonus, great dining area, nice warm shower. Parking fine. I’d stay there again. Zero. 😊.
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional - Quaint cottage in quiet village
- Julie (7/5): Good - Location. Was attending a family event in Aylesham, so ideal for that. Needed 3 separate bedrooms, so again this property provided that.
Everything you could need was there, ie fridge, microwave, range cooker etc.
Enclosed rear garden - ideal for anyone with pets or young children. There was also some garden furniture but we didn't use it as was only there overnight. Property smelt fusty and damp. I appreciate it's an old building but smelt like it hadn't been aired in a while. Although it looked tidy on arrival as the stay progressed you began to notice that the whole place would benefit from a good hoover. The settee was in need of replacement as it looked like it had been used as a scratching post by cats. One of the party slept on top of the bed as the sheets didn't look very clean - the other two beds were okay apart from the pillow I had felt more like a chair cushion, hard and very thick/deep..
- Meghan (10/5): Super great - thank you! Lots of amenities and very cosy -
- Estelle (9/5): Superb - The historic and quaint nature of the property
- Rosanne (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely charming cottage with lovely garden front and back. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, would have loved to stay for a proper holiday! The beds were cozy with plenty of pillows and the shower was great. For tall Dutch people the doors were quite low, but that only adds to the charm , just watch your head!
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Matt (9/5): Lovely quaint cottage. - Quiet location,
Very pretty
Really handy for getting to Dover port the next day. It took a long time to get used to the low doors and beams. I banged my head a few times. But it gave the house a quaint feel..
- Katharine (9/5): Superb - Lovely little cottage. Very close to the port of Dover so perfect to stay before travelling abroad. Lots of toys for the kids, cute and unique inside.
Quiet area, beautiful area but close enough to Dover for justeat to deliver to lol. Couldn't work out where to put the bins (recycling, food waste?) so some direction on that would be the only feedback I have.
Also if you're tall watch out for the doorframe upstairs!
- Tjerk (7/5): a very pleasant stop over on our journey home - the character of the house
- Gail (10/5): Excellent cottage and great garden - Beautiful cottage in a quiet location near to everything we needed Nothing as it was perfect for our stay
- Mark (5/5): Nice location.. Need to fix the lack of hot water in the morning.. - Nice quiet location
Easy to get to Deal & Sandwich plus other interesting places for the day out
Beds were clean & towels smelt nice & fresh No hot water in the morning so had a cold/tepid shower
it wasn't the cleanest with crumbs under the microwave and the carpets could have done with a more thorough vacuum, Fridge had a nasty smell
Pillows were not the most comfortable so didn't get the greatest nights sleep
- Darcie (10/5): Excellent place to stay! Would definitely recommend to others and stay again! - Excellent location - quiet area but easy to get to and from! Everything you could possibly need was available for you. Enclosed garden - good for the dog (with a poo bin just at the corner of the house!). On site parking was also a massive bonus! No hot water from the shower.
