I’ve never seen a hotel with such thing. I was even lazy to go for dinner, because they will look you otherwise if you don’t tip. A slip with a tip option in a hotel ?

David (8/5): Relaxing stay in a stunning location - Very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Beautiful setting. Hotel has great activities such as the beach visit with a picnic. The staff are very helpful: I asked for a small canister of almond milk for the room and they brought a whole pack. The room we stayed in had carpet which smelt bad. The hotel rooms need a bit of TLC as does the spa. Was not impressed with the level of cleanliness in the rooms nor in the restaurant buffet area - everything was a little bit grimy and sticky.

I loved their main building with their various antique wooden boats, motorcycles, Persian carpets and dark wood. The bedroom was amazing!! 10/10. We absolutely loved their main building spa. The room and the spa was the highlight of our stay! The fact that a hot tub was advertised as part of the room, only to find it was not in use due to water restrictions. This was false advertising and should have been deducted from our room. The hotel restaurant was awful I’m afraid! Food was just too terrible, pizza was dry and cold and the fish very average. Not something you would expect from an establishment like Pezula. We ate in Knysna itself after our first terrible meal experience.

The hot tub was not available due to the water restrictions, which is understandable, however was not disclosed upfront. This was one of the reasons we booked the accommodation in the first place. There was also co fusion around the half board package that we had paid for upfront, which was resolved however.

Thank you to every staff member who made my birthday feel special: From the restaurant staff, to the reception, to the Spa, to the yoga instructor, every person I interacted with was nice. Nothing, the place is perfect.

The suites are spacious and designed for ultimate comfort, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The spa is highly recommended—whether you choose a pedicure, massage, or facial, every treatment is delivered with care and expertise. Due to the conflict in the Middle East, our flights home were canceled, and we unexpectedly extended our stay by seven nights. What could have been a stressful situation turned into a memorable experience thanks to this wonderfully managed hotel and its attentive team. We genuinely did not want to leave and will most certainly return.

Die Suiten sind auf mehrere Häuser am Berg aufgeteilt. Der Weg zum Haupthaus ist etwas mühsam, da die Wege sehr steil sind. Es gäbe einen auch einen Fahrdienst…. möchte man jedoch nicht immer in Anspruch nehmen

Oliver (5/5): Great room and facilities, but breakfast and tipping process disappointing. - Great big room with fire place. Great facilities including pool and gym. Reception staff very friendly. The breakfast experience was disappointing. Although breakfast was included, we were still presented with a bill at the end of each meal and encouraged to leave a tip. This process felt unusual compared with other hotels. On one occasion, the server also gave us a speech explaining the tipping process, which made the situation awkward and uncomfortable. We also noticed that on the bill the section showing the “recommended tip” had been scribbled out so that the suggested amount was not visible. This happened on more than one morning. Overall, the process felt poorly designed and did not align with the otherwise excellent service we received from the rest of the resort staff, who were fantastic. For some reason the breakfast was halal. Aside from halal slaughter practices being cruel and unethical, it also significantly reduced the range of options available. The bacon and sausages that were served were noticeably poor quality. Laundry services were also extremely expensive — a small wash cost around R1,200. Finally, housekeeping did not replace the fire starters during our stay.

Michael (10/5): immer wieder gerne - fast alles wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Jacuzzi, aber wegen Wassermangel in Südafrika konnten wir dieses nicht nutzen. Aber das ist höhere Gewalt.

Clifford (9/5): Other than the unacceptable Breafast offering, everything was superb. - BREAKFAST ( as we did not have dinner at the Hotel I cannot comment on the dinner ) The Food ( "Halal friendly" ) seemed to be targetted at guests based on Religion - I would like an explanation as to why the culinary selections of certain other Religions ( Christians for example ) were excluded, and why the hotel could not cater for everyone. This fact was not advertised clearly either. Perhaps it would be an idea to have a rate Excluding the Halal friendly Breakfast ?
