Guest Reviews
- Nancy (10/5): Army shepherds hut - Had a great stay here last wknd...absoloutely thought of everything you could need in the hut.
Weather was mint and there was a live singer on too
Didn't take any kids but the ones that were there seemed to have plenty to do.
Will be definitely going back and even to tent camp as all the campers were pleasant and friendly.
Brilliant place There wasn't a thing I didn't like.
- Josie (8/5): My 12 year old loved it - It was in a nice area and we enjoyed the walks around the site with the dog. The nature reserve was a treat. We showered in the camp site as the pressure was so much better than the van.

- Anth51ea (10/5): Great value well converted military van - A beautifully converted military van with everything you could need. Gabby was very friendly and helpful. Useful folder on the van with information. Great night's sleep. Full size fridge. Amazing value for money Nothing
- Daniel (6/5): Good Overall, Good Value, Secure Clean Site - Secure Electric Gate , Nice site layout, Clean Tidy No Hot water in the Military Hut and Very Low Water Pressure
- T (10/5): Excellent. Book the glamping pods!!! - The army trailer. Such a cosy place but me n my son had the best time Nothing
- Emily (7/5): Wouldn’t return. Shame as a lovely area. - Nice area. Lovely views. Not very clean, the bedding didn’t smell fresh at all. Inside the floor was very grubby (binned our socks as were filthy). Crockery all dirty so needs to wash what we needed to use prior to using it. Hairs in the shower tray. All marks on front of cupboards. Hoover rammed with dirt and hair.
Sofa bed was all stained. Had a funny odour inside the property. If our little girl wasn’t adamant on staying i would have come home.

- Katherine (9/5): Great place to use as a base to explore the area - It is such a fantastic little find. Low cost and great as a base to have days out. Big double bed is fantastic. Everything you need is there. Sofa/bed is a little narrow.
- Rita Maria (8/5): A good little stop over , some where clean , comfy and warm after a full day out. -
- Tracy (10/5): Loved it....didn't want to come home - Absolutely Everything!!!!
The Military Shepherd's Hut was quirky but had everything....the peaceful location but closed to so much to do. Staff are brilliant and happy make time to chat.
We had a brilliant time and booked to stay in the RV in July just for a change. Would definitely stay in the Shepherd's Hut again though in a heartbeat. I didn't want to come home! Loved it all but would have liked a toaster if being ultra picky

- Finlay (10/5): Something special - Every little thing had been thought off. It was very well equipped and I just loved my stay. I came to visit family and will be back. The views were amazing and the morning sunrise beautiful. Gabby was really helpful and friendly when I contacted her. You have something special here. Thank you Gabby and Johnny. I knew when I booked I may not be able to get up to the bed due the small stand to get up and happily slept like a log on the couch.
- Vernon (10/5): - Everything you need on the campsite
Family and dog friendly.
Entertainment and bar N/A

- Jordan (10/5): Great bank holiday weekend - Great hut everything we needed for our stay ! Amazing facilities ! Everything you need in the kitchen area we didn’t need to bring anything ! Amazing campsite all round! Great staff and amazing club house also there was a fun fair on for the kids which was even better !
- Laura (10/5): Compact but well equipped for our short stay. Well maintained campsite. Lovely location with several pubs within walking -

- Roger (10/5): - I had everything I needed for my nights stay. Bed was really comfortable and it was quiet. Slept really well. There was a fair on at the site when I stayed which was a bonus. There was a bar at the site and tried some local beer. Very good value for money and very clean and tidy.
- Coleen (9/5): - How it had everything you needed and was in beautiful surroundings The public toilets and showers weren't very clean however we had our own private toilet and shower but the shower was a bit too small for my husband to get in but was more than happy with everything else and to be honest didn't expect a toilet or shower to even fit in the hut but they have managed it so was much more convenient than having to walk over to the public toilets
- Shelley (10/5): -
- Kerry (10/5): Amazing - Clean tidy had everything we needed :) amazing host lovely area nothing was too much to ask, will be booking the rv soon :)

- Kellee (10/5): Lovely service from Gabby and co, lovely location and the hut was perfect for myself and 2 children quality value and fe - Everything was to expectation and a lovely little but, beds were comfortable and good shower and facilities in side Slightly poor connection to tv signal , sadly unable to connect to WiFi for medical device use I had, outside lighting couldn’t use as couldn’t find switch but we made do as we had a torch
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (10/5): Overnight Stay May 2025 - The communication was great, the directions onto the site were perfect, even for me and I'm no good without a satnav! The hut was clean, tidy and perfect for an overnight stay for myself and my teenage son. The only issue I had was a draught through the door but once I was wrapped up, it wasn't a problem.
- Katherine (10/5): Fantastic find. Perfect for an alternative to camping - Spotlessly clean, everything we needed for a one night stay Front door didn’t feel like it was locked even when it was.
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional -

- Jonny_m_1976 (8/5): Military Shepherd Hut Break - All good, clean and comfortable and enjoyed our second stay. A nice conversion. The only single fault i can find with the place (because the rest was excellent) was the main door needs work as is pretty drafty. Every else great. We would definitely stop again i reckon. Thank you. :)
- James (10/5): Fantastic and will definitely stay again - Clean and tidy and perfect spot for the Haxey Hood. Gabby and Jonny were exceptional hosts. They even provided our own transport on a tractor trailer. Awesome
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Walker (7/5): Good - Brilliant stay thoroughly enjoyed it, was a tight squeeze as we had our daughter in her travel cot! But bed was extremely comfy, spotlessly clean. Only thing would recommend would be sealing the door as it would save soo much heat. Would definitely stay again x
- Jacob (9/5): Superb - We had a lovely stay for the night had everything we needed.
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet and nice, unlike hotel rooms, that's what I expected and I like it N/a
