• Yogana (8/5): Peaceful and beautiful views - Beautiful view. The place was really relaxing and peaceful. Loved the hot tub and the host had the water heated and ready for us. Nothing much, just was a little dusty.

Bedside lights, lights at mirrors, peaceful sleep, fans etc. Tap in the bath at an uncomfortable place, bumped elbows but that was the only thing that bothered me, therefore not really a problem

• Linde (10/5): Everything was exceptional, cabin, views, gardens, felt well cared for. - Where do I begin? It was really beautiful, the cabin, the gardens, the views, the sweet, sweet dogs that visited us every day. Minette left us ice in the freezer and a bag of wood. As we arrived a bit late, the jacuzzi was hot and waiting. The cabin was very well equipped, and we felt really safe on the premises. Minette contacted us a few times during the weekend to ask if everything is okay. We will book there again in a few months' time as there is a beautiful fireplace indoor. It is close to great eateries and sight-seeing places. That we have to leave on Sunday. Would have been great if we could have stayed another night, just sitting outside and reading.

• Eloise (8/5): Breathtaking and peaceful - The view was breathtaking and the hot tub was one of our favourite place to sit and watch the view! It really was a lovely stay. The staff responded really quickly when we needed something and even turned the hot tub on for us every day when they saw we forgot. The property has 5 houses on it and one big lapa and pool. Really quiet and peaceful. The road is definitely accessible with a car. It was a bit dusty and few areas were not as cleaned like the rest of the house. Especially the kettle Had lots of mosquitoes but they did provide peace for sleep so that was great. Would not recommend for people who don’t like bugs, spiders and loads of other small animals but I mean it’s normal when staying in a grass roof place. We definitely didn’t mind the little visitors.

• Fay (10/5): The perfect getaway - The view is absolutely incredible! The place is so beautiful and quaint. The cottage is well equipped and quite spacious, it’s even better than the pictures. The water pressure was surprisingly very very good. The service was welcoming and warm. Did I mention the view? There’s really nothing to complain about

• Susan (4/5): What an expensive yet disappointing stay at a Lodge that I knew and loved ! - As we have been to Benlise many years ago I knew the views were exceptional and it was! The rest...NOT SO MUCH. Oh what a disappointment! The chalet was dirty ( etc - walls, curtains, cabinet) & while searching for a battery I had to move the couch......and what a shock! And if you wanted someone to service the chalet daily you had to pay a fee of a R100.00 a day ??? As I told the Manager / Owner please clean AND do the maintenance! We took a guest from the USA with us and I was so embarrassed !!

Also we have been travelling around SA and this is the first place to not provide a hair dryer which caught us off guard. Besides these two minor things it is a beautiful place. Highly recommended!

• David (9/5): We would like to come back again as it is a great retreat, perfect for our needs. - Stunning views, beautiful sunsets and bird life to watch. Excellent facilities to relax and escape stress Johannesburg. Not too far to restaurants, shopping facilities. The couch in the lounge was not comfortable as it was so close to the floor and kept sliding on the floor. Everything else was great and we enjoyed.

• Dimakatso (10/5): Beautiful hideaway - The location is just perfect. Away from the city bustle and noise. The beautiful views of the dam and the unit we stayed in was just wonderful. Firewood was stacked for us, the kitchen had everything we needed. There are backup lights in case of loadshedding. We did not even notice the absence of electricity as we were enjoying the outside jacuzzi and beautiful moon. We loved everything about the place. There is nothing to not like.
