Unclean rooms, smelly washroom, private room is in the reception lobby and the night receptionist was creating an absolute ruckus. We had to wake up thrice at night to ask them to keep it quiet. This is the worst hotel stay experience.

• Christiane (8/5): Schönes Premiumzimmer. Zahlung online über einen Link. - Sehr freundliche Leute. Uns wurde entgegengekommenderweise geholfen in bar zu bezahlen, denn eine Zahlung per Kreditkarte ist nicht möglich. Wir haben dafür dann auch die Bankgebühren übernommen. Wir wollten das Zimmer wirklich sehr gerne haben. Das Hotel hatte nach der Buchungsbestätigung, mit meiner hinterlegter Kreditkarte, allerdings einen Link geschickt worüber man bezahlen soll. Nach meiner ersten bestätigten Buchung, hat das Hotel storniert da ich die Zahlung über den Link nicht geleistet hatte. Den Link zur Zahlung konnte ich aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht benutzen, zumal dann möglicherweise meine Deutsche Bank meine Kreditkarte sperrt. Ich habe am Tag der Anreise also nochmals neu gebucht für einen höheren Preis. Das Zimmer war aber wirklich gut, abgesehen von der Klimaanlage die nach wenigen Minuten zu kalt wurde, und auch nur über einen Wandschalter an und ausgeschaltet werden kann. Über Nacht konnten wir sie vor lauter Kälte gar nicht anlassen, obwohl Maximaltemperatur 30 Grad eingestellt waren. Gute Möblierung und ein schöner Balkon mit Blick ins Grüne. Mittels unserer Wäscheleine könnten wir hierauf auch unsere Wäsche trocknen. Ein Laundryservice wird vom Hotel nicht angeboten. Im Hotel waren alle nett. Auch wenn es darum ging das online auszusuchende Frühstück beim Mitarbeiter persönlich zu bestellen und in bar zu bezahlen. Die Dusche, auch mit warmem Wasser, abends und morgens, war übrigens perfekt. Kreditkarten werden nicht akzeptiert. Die Zahlung kann normalerweise nur über einen Online-Link erfolgen, auch wenn man bei booking.com eine gültige Kreditkarte hinterlegt hat. Die Möglichkeit in bar, bei Ankunft im Hotel zu bezahlen, war nur dem sehr freundlichen Entgegenkommen des Hotelmanagers zu verdanken. Wir hatten also Glück.

Perhaps, due to a dysfunctional exhaust fan. Staff were great, except one receptionist who got irritated when he had to repeat taxi phone no to me.

• Zach (5/5): Passable stay but cleanliness should be improved - Great restaurant staff, nice to have water dispensers on every floor and close to the beach. Cleanliness was an issue, we discovered mould on our pillows (which the staff did replace although did so very unapologetically). Hot water for shower barely worked. Reception staff unwilling to help you with much with a bad vibe. Lift is so old it kept breaking down and making a lot of noise.

• Nikhil (3/5): - Stayed here in December during my cross-country solo motorcycle trip. This stay taught me a lot — both as a traveler and as someone who deeply values how experiences are designed and delivered. What worked well: The pricing is relatively economical compared to nearby hotels, which initially made this an easy choice. Ample parking for cars and motorcycles was genuinely reassuring after long riding days. Beds are wide and lockers are reasonably sized — workable for most backpackers. Fellow guests were mostly young travelers and workcation folks; thankfully, my roommates were courteous. The staff deserves appreciation — they were friendly, empathetic, and tried their best to help even when issues were outside their control. Where the experience struggled: Hot water was unavailable during my stay. While I was verbally informed at check-in, the official app notification came much later. Hot water isn’t a luxury — it’s a basic comfort, especially for tired travelers. The digital journey felt unnecessarily complex. Booking happens on one platform, while in-stay services run on another. The UI felt cluttered, and simple actions took more effort than they should. Interestingly, the human service often worked faster than the digital one. My bed was on the top bunk directly under the only room light. Every time someone entered, the light switched on right above my head — not ideal when rest is the priority. Tin roofing made the room extremely hot during the day, forcing constant AC and fan usage. Limited space or facilities to dry clothes after washing. Quiet hours (10 PM) weren’t consistently enforced, especially since my floor was close to a common hangout area. The property is quite remote; without a vehicle, accessing food or essentials can feel inconvenient. Having a motorcycle helped — otherwise this would have been challenging. Overall reflection: This stay felt more tiring than it needed to be. I wasn’t expecting luxury — just a few non-negotiable basics and better spatial thinking. While it works for backpackers seeking social energy and budget stays, it’s not ideal for travelers carrying gear, recovering from long journeys, or needing quality rest. It was an important learning for me — enough that I chose to cancel future Hosteller bookings and switch to Airbnbs and hotels instead. Rating: 3/5 Clean and functional, but emotionally and ergonomically mismatched with what the listing promises.
• Vinod (8/5): Overall a very pleasant stay with extremely helpful and cordial staff. - Breakfast was quite good. The portion size however was a bit big so for 2 of us we ended up only having one breakfast. The location was good as far as the beach access is concerned. Only problem is that it is a bit far away from the places of interest and we have to depend on Hired Taxis There was nothing in particular that we did not like. The bed however could be made a little harder becuase it was too soft which may not be good for people with back issues. There was no flowing hot water although the staff did provide us with a bucket and an immersion heater

Il n’y avait même pas d’eau chaude disponible et on nous a précisé en arrivant qu’il faudrait monter l’eau chaude dans des « baskets » établissement très isolé, aucune vue sur la mer.

• Valentina (7/5): Decent hostel experience, could have been friendlier - Good value for money, clean. No hot water (we were given a heater and a bucket for the shower). Location is a bit far away from the main road and road condition is not the best. They don’t allow outside food but the choice in the cafeteria is not so great so we just booked an auto and went to the beach for dinner.

IMPORTANT - STAFF gave us a very old no brakes scooty in very bad condition, we somehow couldn't manage and the moment we moved out of the property, we slipped in a life threatening situation, could have fallen in the valley, but this HOST (thin guy 5'5 ft, Long hair- name something like prajesh) extremely RUDE person -instead of atleast asking if we are okay (our knees elbows were BLEEDING insanely) called the vendor told that we fell from the scooty, scooty vendor started asking for Rs 3200 (the real expense as per showroom price was of Rs 300 and we checked online) and we were getting very later for our departure but they didn't let us go out of the property (literal local gundagiri), some how we convinced the vendor so they let us out of the property , we were one hour late, even if we didn't harm their scooty we still paid rs 1000, but these people had internal commissions hence they tracked us to the railway station (2 hrs away from the property), surrounded us at the station platform, abused and harrassed us badly. The same HOST told them our details of departure that's why they could follow us the whole time and host knew our details bcs we trusted him and checked on how to travel locally to reach the station. He straight up said - ' I DONT CARE, DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO' AS girls it was a VERY TRAUMATIC & HORRIFYING Experience! We also almost missed our train. Thankfully police came on time and we could settle by paying whatever they asked. Locals told us that this guy (Vendor) do it regularly with TOURISTS like this that's why nobody helped us there. Even local rickshaw guy told us HOSTELLER guy and VENDOR hand over the BAD CONDITION scooty to people and then harras like this. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS NOT WORTH neither Rs 3200 WE PAID after all the harrasment, not the Rs 8400 we paid for staying 2 days.

• Yogi (9/5): Worth The Price!! - It's very near to the Kudle Beach, everything was neat and clean including bathroom, beds etc., They do have a Swimming pool, Android TV, wifi, Toiletries, Towels, Cupboards, Power sockets and Night Lamps near all the beds, kettle along with coffee, tea sachets, Large wall size window which opens up to the Balcony, dining area in the balcony. One of the best options for group of friends, definitely value for money. Unusual power cuts-however they lasted for a few seconds. A/C-which wasn't too powerful to cover the entire room.

• Eli (9/5): Nice place, would stay again. - This place is very clean, has great comfy beds, you get a curtain and storage, the comfort is really there. Clean bathroom, nice balcony, short distance to the beach. The pool is treated too much with chemicals, which you can feel on your skin and the smell is very strong. It shouldn’t be this way. Also, you have 4 beautiful dogs. Give them water and take care of them, and if you don’t have them castrated, in half year you will have 20 dogs. You guys are a big hotel, I’m sure you can handle that. Kindness is the key.

Wifi availability makes workation viable. Common room amenities seems to be gimmick, and overall not much space, foods are unreasonably costly.

• Tania (8/5): Noisy but overall good - Staff really nice and available. The dormitories are good. The localisation is great : 5-10’ walking from the beach. Easily accessible from the city with a rickshaw. It was really noisy until midnight and started being noisy again really early in the morning. We wouldn’t recommend to take the breakfast included with your reservation. They gave us only 2 choices and it was not beneficial nor in time nor in money. They have a pretty good menu with a lot of different choices for breakfast so we would recommend to just choose from their menu once you’re there !

The room facilities were super clean and upto the mark. The swimming pool and common area with lots of games make your stay more enjoyable. Food is good with plenty of options for everyone. Overall loved the stay! Worth the visit! Nothing much!

• Adnan (10/5): Great location, easy to stay a few days - The reception was a dude called kamlesh, I might be misspelling his name but was super helpful with all things to see, do and eat. He even organised a tuk tuk for me to the bus stop. Kamlesh noticed another guest was going to the bus stop at the same time and asked us to combine to save money. The restaurant manager I didn't get his name didn't speak much English but he tried his best to make me feel welcome and recommended things I must try in the state. This is a one of the few hostels with a bug zapper on each floor and rooftop, so I didn't get bit by bugs I loved this., all hostels need this. The location is abit far way, to go the beach is great but anything else needs an tuk tuk.
• Rutuja (4/5): Disappointing experience - Nothing I booked this accomodation considering the Hosteller brand, however I was extremely disappointed. For the price they are charging, the room was in a terrible condition; the sliding doors to balcony refused to close, paint was peeling off the walls, bathroom door latch was not working, shower knob had falled off. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about this property.
