• Josef (9/5): Best guest house in Puttalam, highly recommended - Perfect location, 5 minutes walking to the bus station, good supermarket round the corner, clean well furnished and equipped room, powerful AC and ceiling fans to keep guests cool, even the window panes blackened to prevent too much sunshine, nice and quiet restaurant downstairs, very friendly and hospitable reception staff.

Location: in the town center, along the main street, 400 metres from the bus station, good supermarket next door, other shops around. 2. Room: spacious, ceiling fans and AC, window panes blackened to prevent too much daylight, good curtains, small fridge, wireless kettle, complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, creamer, comfy shower, flat iron and desk, lots of space for your stuff, restaurant available on site, clean and surprisingly quiet despite a busy street outside; if you are travelling with kids ask for a room on the ground floor - plenty of Teddy bears to play with 😁. Staff: 24/7, very efficient and polite. Too soft bed mattresses, at least with us.

• Doreen (10/5): Budget accommodation in Puttalam - Channa, the owner, is a lovely man. We had a last minute check in with him, and he arranged a spacious, comfortable budget room for the 3 of us. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the food was very good. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the hotel was very clean. Highly recommended. All was good

• Erna (9/5): Guesthouse with excellent attention for its clients. - The owner and his son were extremely helpful in every regard. They made special Sri Lankan breakfast for me, treated me with an excellent dinner of crabs and transported me to the railway station. The only disadvantage is that the guesthouse is close to the Kurunegala-Puttalam highway, which is quite noisy. It did not really bother me and I slept well.
