Fee (10/5): - We had the most amazing stay at Shongili. Una and Bertus are both exceptional hosts (together with their lovely dogs 😄). They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is unbelievable. We will never forget the beautiful private beach. We loved the excursion by boat to see the turtles and braai on the beach with Bertus.

Sara (10/5): Meraviglioso - La struttura si trova dall’altra parte della laguna, è un posto tranquillo dove ci siamo completamente rilassati prima di rientrare in Italia. Bertus e Una ci hanno accolti e ci hanno davvero fatto sentire in famiglia, prendendosi cura di noi in ogni momento. Anche i loro cani sono fantastici, abbiamo davvero apprezzato questa tappa in Mozambico più di tutte le altre!!! Era tutto perfetto!

Owen (10/5): This was the most welcoming place I have ever visited. The conversation between me and uncle Beth’s is something I have - I loved the location. The innovative set up. I didn’t like uncle Bertus overworking himself to make us feel at home.

Danielle (10/5): Idyllic Island style breakaway - We loved our host and hostess Bertus and Una,and the staff, Areletta, Orbadea, Alfonso and Renaldo. We loved the informal, rustic atmosphere and facilities. We also liked the Bali style furniture and island style decor furnishing. We had a most relaxing restful time. It was easy to arrange to do shopping in Bilene town, just being a 7min boat trip across the lagoon. We enjoyed the picturesque drive around the lagoon too, although there was a small section just outside town of Bilene on the way there that may have needed a 4x4. We had our bakkie so we were fine. The beach just in front of the lodge as well as a smaller lagoon and various swimming pools are ideal for couples and families. The canoes were a lot of fun, and we took them to the lagoon mouth to explore. We would highly recommend this destination for a total rest and breakaway. I would recommend staying long enough so that you lose track of time and all the world's trouble. We staying 2 weeks long and we should have stayed longer if we knew prior to the time just how wonderful it would be!

Stunning beach location, sunset views, quiet, secluded, two friendly dogs, lots of wild birds to see, and the most friendly and interesting hosts! Room was super clean, bathroom fantastic, kitchen amazing! No complaints! I wish we had stayed longer!

Van (10/5): Our stay was amazing - The lodges look great and the surroundings are amazing. The facilities and activities are also very nice. Bertus and Una are very welcoming and the same goes for the rest of the team. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back sometime.
Charmaine (1/5): Bad - I had booked for my group and Bertus spoke to me telling me that my group liked the place I must pay 15000 before he takes them to see the place. I paid and when my group got there they wanted to leave immediately. They left and he over charged me on booking.com the price was R14035 but he demanded payment of R15000 Everything
Zubeida (9/5): A host and hostess second to none! - Loved the location. Rustic and homely and the host and hostess is amazing, warm and kind! We were able to buy fresh fish of the boat and cook immediately which was an added bonus. Visiting the nearby dunes and lakes beaches including flamingo Island was special. Water is warm and your location is private and safe. It's magnificent views are so special and enjoyable. There is no food, groceries, toiletries available on the island so remember to pack that Once the resturant opens, will be easier to access food Also remember to get a local sim and load data before coming because there is no wifi
Gutting (10/5): Exceptional - This is a special place for people seeking absolut tranquillity in a beautiful tropical setting. The hosts are super welcoming and will help you with everything you need. Accessibility is by boat or by 4x4. I recommend the boat ride through the lagoon! The rooms were clean, and the bed was very comfy. Definitely a recommendation.
Patrick (10/5): A tranquil holiday on which I gained much R&R, as well as joyful scenic adventuring - I liked the hosts and their willingness to provide assistance and their hospitality - being with them was joyful and informative; I liked the serenity, except for the Friday and Saturday night music wafting from the nightlife and bars across the waters - it wasn't significant, but it does invade the peacefulness a little and, it's there to enjoy, if you like it and the hosts would provide a way to the other shore, if interested; I liked the nature being so close and the water and winds and freshness of the air; I liked the comradery of the hosts and the privacy, too; I liked the comfort of the villa and the tidiness and cleanliness; I liked that the kitchen area was fully equipped for all my cooking needs; I liked the size of the refrigerator and the stove top; I liked the variety of birds; I loved the beauty of the surroundings and I liked the maid service every day. I would give it a 4 rating, not a 3. I didn't like that the breezes could reach my gas stove and blow out my burners. I'm positive that the problem will be resolved before the next guests arrive. I only spoke about it on the last day or it would have been handled while I was there - my bad.
