- Hilary (9/5): Lovely comfortable and spacious cottage in great location. - Great location - even though on a busy road, it was quiet inside.
Lovely bathrooms, and felt spacious everywhere.
Nice to have the patio which caught the sun in the morning and the evening.
Nice to have the fire (which is electric, not multifuel) in the chilly evening. Not really a dislike, but some instructions regarding microwave and oven use may have been helpful as we are not that tech savvy!!
- Melanie (10/5): Weekend in bury. - We found the cottage very comfortable and clean we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable it was lovely to receive a welcome pack we really enjoyed our stay . Nothing to not like it was a lovely place.
- Mary (10/5): Would definitely stay again if available! - Very comfortable cottage with character in a perfect location.
- Jenna (10/5): We came to Bury St Edmund’s as a group of 4 (2 married couple) for a leisurely weekend away and had the best stay at Abb - The location, the decor, it is as very cosy and the beds were very comfortable. Not problems with road noise considering it’s on a main road The only thing i would say is that the back patio area was too dark, there’s not a light outside
- Sarah (10/5): - Really well equipped cottage, comfy beds, great showers Nothing
- Graham (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): Warm, comfortable and spacious. - A beautiful cottage! It’s easy to locate and there’s parking nearby.
It’s very spacious, and surprisingly warm considering the age of the property.
I loved the exposed beams. The bed was so comfortable and big.
I adored the roll top bath- I’m a sucker for a nice bath.
The pictures on the walls were really nice as well, it created a more homely effect.
It’s such a lovely house to stay in and I’m really glad I booked it for my visit.
The Abbey gardens were right behind the cottage near enough, which was great because I wanted to walk around them. Nothing
- Lisa (9/5): Excellent stay at Graeme's Property - Graeme's property is next to the Abbey ruins and gardens and very close to the centre of town. There a number of good restaurants a few minutes walk away. The property is very well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Graeme was great at communicating and made our stay very easy. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

- Caroline (10/5): A gem - A conveniently located cottage backing onto the Abbey Gardens and a five minute walk to the centre of Bury St Edmunds. The courtyard garden is a real sun trap, but there was always a shady spot as well. Well equipped kitchen and lovely to have a delicious bottle of local apple juice on arrival. Two good-sized, very comfortable double bedrooms and two decent sized bathrooms. Easy to operate, powerful showers. It was a lovely place to stay, and we will definitely book again when visiting the area. Host was great at keeping in touch. I have stayed in many hotels and self-catering properties, but I have never given a 10 in the UK before. A lovely place to stay. Nothing, it was all good.
- Karen (8/5): Great Location for Weekend Getaway - Great location, comfy beds, great shower - really hot and powerful. Good quality fittings, crockery, and cooking items.
The owner was very helpful and allowed us access to the cottage before 3.00 pm. Double glazed, so traffic noise was not a problem. It was very difficult to pull pull up outside the cottage to drop off luggage as it's a very busy road.
Could have been cleaner. The main areas were clean, but areas like skirting boards, recycling bin lids, outdoor furniture, etc. could have been cleaner.
- Clare (10/5): - This cottage is modern and cosy and a very short walk from the centre of this beautiful city. The accommodation is very well appointed and has a lovely homely feel to it. We have stayed at this property twice and will return again.

- Tony (10/5): If staying in bury st Edmund’s I would highly recommend - The property was well located and very well presented throughout. The hosts were on point whenever needed and nothing was a problem. Graeme is very guest focussed, therefore I can’t fault the customer service or the facilities, and some nice touches with items left to settle in.
Well kitted out in kitchen, was like a home from home Being on a main road can be a little noisy in the morning, but nothing dramatic.
- James (9/5): Superb - Location very good, comfortable, clean. Excellent shower No parking at the property which was more irritating than expected - we arrived after 11pm and the app wouldn't let us pay until the car park opened the next morning. More a criticism of the car park than the property, but wouldn't have been an issue if there was parking at the property.
I would also bring a decent fan if you happen to stay during a heatwave. Fortunately we brought ours, so it wasn't an issue (other than carrying from the car park), but the rooms get very warm.
- Barry (10/5): Enjoyable & relaxing. - The location was perfect. Comfy, warm & exceptionally well equipped. Especially enjoyed the pre set morning heating. Nothing
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable and clean cottage, and very close to the centre of Bury St Edmunds.
- Suzanne (9/5): Excellent property - Fantastic little cottage. Truly home from home with everything you might need. Great location, 5 mins easy walk into town. Easy key access. Would definitely stay again. Minor, but not keen on pillows and top bedroom was very hot so maybe a fan would be helpful (it was hottest 1st May in record though)
Parking is 200m away.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location, really helpful owner, and just a lovely house. Everything was high quality and easy to use.
- Melanie (9/5): Very comfortable stay in Ann attractive and well located property . -
- Heulwen (10/5): We will be back - Great location, service and facilities. Stay was not long enough
- Arjuna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Fabulous property for a weekend break with friends. - The cottage has been tastefully decorated & furnished. It has a Modern fitted kitchen with all amenities, cosy living area with retro furnishings. 2 Cosy, comfortable bedrooms & 2 excellent showers/bathrooms. Perfect location for exploring Bury St Edmunds - highly recommend. Nothing
- Shelley (10/5): Fantastic property in the heart of Bury St Edmunds - Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and so close to the town centre, a wonderful place to stay. Maybe a curtain for the double doors in the living area as we felt the chill coming through on the winter evenings, but the fire was very welcome and kept us old(er) ladies warm 😀
- Buckley (9/5): Lovely but expensive - Excellent location and lovely period features whilst still being modern
2 bathrooms, excellent! A little expensive compared to other similar places we stayed here for £350, we usually pay around £300. Booking for March but has now gone up over £400, so unfortunately probably won't be staying again.
- Sonia (8/5): Very good -
- Julian (10/5): Beautiful house, great location, highly recommended. - Great location and a very comfortable stay at the Abbey Gardens Cottage. Our host was very responsive to our questions and queries. We are looking forward to visiting again next time we are in Bury St. Edmunds. Highly recommended. That we couldn’t stay longer!
- Charles (9/5): excellent stay and great host - clean, stylish and with lots of unexpected extras such as tea/ coffee pods/ dishwasher tablets that make everything easier. close to nice restaurants and beautiful park. host made themselves known and you felt you could contact them if anything had gone awry there was two double beds so with children sharing would have worked better for us with a twin but we knew that before we went
- Matthew (10/5): We came to Bury for our 20th wedding anniversary the cottage and the hosts helped make it perfect. - I liked the helpfulness of the hosts who went up and beyond to make our stay perfect.
Communication was excellent .
The location was great. And the cottage immaculate. It fulfilled our expectations and more. I can’t find a single thing I didn’t like. There was no parking at the property but a huge long stay car park was just a couple of minutes away and was easy to access. That’s it.
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful with a vibe - Really happy I found this gem. Bury is a beautiful town. Many good bars on the street or in the centre three minutes to walk. The apartment is comfortable for an even longer stay, fully equipped, and has a vibe of place. Great internet connection, smart TV. Thank you.
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Great location, spotless and comfortable. Graeme, the owner, was welcoming. Would recommend.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect. Just next door to the priory gardens and only a few minutes walk to the centre.
House is very clean and nicely decorated with attention to detail.
Bedrooms are a great size.
Kitchen had everything we needed.
- Samantha (10/5): Beautiful cottage - The cottage was so beautiful and cosy! So much light and the decor is gorgeous! Everything was to a high standard, loved the bathrooms and the outside area. It's so close to the centre and the Abbey Gardens! Graeme was lovely, especially when I had an issue with some post that a friend posted the day before our stay. He made sure that it was there safe and sound for when we arrived. The place was very clean, and comfy beds. Highly recommend this lovely cottage & host. Thank you xx
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional - We had a very comfortable stay, in this lovely house, with everything we needed. The location is excellent. The car park is a 5 minute walk away and easily accessed. We stayed for 2 nights so we paid £9 for a week's parking, instead of the daily rates. The apple juice provided by the host was delicious and a nice touch. Nothing.
- Olivia (9/5): Loved our stay! It was a great place to stay in bury that is easy walking distance to the center of town. - Location was perfect for walking into town, 2 minute walk. The facilities were spacious and clean. We loved all the natural light in the house and the back patio. No top sheet on bed and no shampoo/conditioner in shower.
- Frances (8/5): So well sited for visiting historical centre & v beautiful property with own bathroom for each room & nice socia - Furniture, decor, equipment
Very attentive owner Graeme - thank you so very much No parking & difficult to unload/reload car on busy road
Courtyard unusable due to pigeons!
- Alex (10/5): A great place to stay in Bury St Edmunds. - Perfect for two couples, very comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, nice courtyard garden. The location is perfect, less than five minute walk to the square and backing on to the Abbey gardens. Bars and restaurants all in short walking distance. No parking, However, just five minutes walk to large public car park, bargain £9 weekly parking ticket. Nothing to not like
- David (9/5): An lovely alternative to a hotel in Bury St. Edmunds - Really enjoyable stay, the property was clean, modern and centrally located. Graeme our host made everything very easy for us and pre-empted any queries we had about collecting keys, which are simply in a safe outside the property, and accessed via a code Graeme provided. We were staying over for work and this made a great alternative to the hotels in town. Loved the little courtyard garden, will hope to return in summer for optimal weather!
- Keith (10/5): Great property in an excellent location. Very clean and comfortable and would highly recommend - Great host, mad the property available a little earlier for us as we arrived early. Great location and very clean with all the facilities needed for a lovely weekend. Would highly recommend No issues at all
- Michelle (10/5): Just fantastic… location fantastic, rooms fantastic - Excellent communication from host . Excellent location, comfy beds, had a great nights sleep, property had everything we required plus lots of little extras, Loved the rooms on separate floors, will stay again There was nothing not to like from our opinion, the property covered everything we required for our stay
- Shannon (10/5): Absolutely perfect home base for a family trip in Bury St Edmunds! - Super lovely cottage in the perfect location! We walked all over town, and enjoyed coming back to such a well appointed and comfortable home. The host was very kind as well.

- Tamsin (9/5): Superb - Cottage was perfect, it had everything we could have wanted during our stay. It was clean, tidy and comfortable and we really enjoyed our visit. Graeme was also an excellent host and so helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area! Being on the main road, the upstairs room was a little noisy with the window open but this really didn’t bother us much.
- Teresa (10/5): A stylish and comfortable bolt hole in the centre of Bury St Edmunds. -
- Bridget (10/5): A wonderful short stay, everything you need inthe cottage and on the doorstep. - Lots of restaurants on the door step, beautiful location and so clean
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally lovely property, everything you could need, wonderful and thoughtful welcome hamper too..just perfect thank you.
Great location.
Beds very comfortable too! Having to leave....
- Anna (10/5): Comfortable, spacious cottage in a central location. - So roomy. Tastefully decorated. Wonderful bathroom facilities. Clean. Excellent location. Shame there was no handsoap in the bathrooms. The cottage smelt very strongly of air freshener sticks. This really isn’t necessary and was rather unpleasant.
- Jake (10/5): Great stay in a lovely town - The cottage was lovely and cosy but felt very spacious over 3 floors.
The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were to a high quality.
The cottage is in a very central location to the town, as well as Abbey Gardens which is lovely to have a stroll around.
The welcome pack of muffins, juice, tea and coffee was a nice touch.
Would definitely recommend and return in the future. Nothing about the property as its is near on perfect but it is is located on a main road so can be noisy due to traffic outside (I'm a light sleeper so wearing ear plugs would have stopped this!)
- Anna (10/5): This was the perfect, cosy, comfortable retreat. It is beautifully designed and so spacious. - This was the perfect, cosy, comfortable retreat. It is beautifully designed and so spacious. The bathroom was an extra luxury and what with being able to enjoy a deep, hot bath and a powerful cold shower in the same room, it was an excellent alternative to the spa hotel we had considered to stay at! 😊
It was lovely to be able to enjoy the little backyard with its comfortable garden furniture.
Great coffee making facilities.
The owner was very friendly and responded very quickly in all communications and he kindly agreed to us extending our stay and to a late check out.
The location couldn’t be better what with Abbey Gardens and the lovely river walk minutes from the front door. There was an over powering, artificial smell of an air freshener in the house. We found the source and had to put the scented sticks in the back yard. The house is very clean and these were unnecessary and rather oppressive extras.
Also, there was no hand soap in either of the bathrooms which was very inconvenient. This is a highly priced property and the least you expect is to be able to wash your hands on arrival.
Be aware that the property is on a main road so you can hear the sound of traffic from
inside.
The provision of crockery is very minimal.
- Kate (10/5): Awesome stay, can't wait to be back. - What a superb find, the cottage is in a perfect location, close to restaurants and cafes right in the centre of town. As we had sunny weather we really enjoyed sitting in the courtyard garden and going into Abbey Gardens which is right behind the cottage. We loved the decor of the cottage which has been done to a high spec, really comfy beds and the en suite bathroom an added luxury. We were left a lovely welcome basket with tea, coffee for the coffee machine, biscuits and local apple juice which was a lovely touch. Look forward to returning next time we are in Bury.
- Pam (10/5): Perfect weekend retreat - Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, great location, two bedrooms and two bathrooms spread over three floors, and a comfy sofa
