Guest Reviews
- Lynne (10/5): Perfect - Fantastic place to stay, really comfortable even in a heatwave! Lots of points from previous reviews have been addressed: there's now a welcome book and a freestanding freezer. The parking is a little tight but once you've got your head round it it's fine and really handy to be able to load the car via the back door.
- Ivana (7/5): - It’s was clean and well presented and perfect for the two of us for a few days. Bed very comfortable and great bathroom extras and lovely towels. Lack of kitchenware. Plates chipped, No big pots for pasta, no salad/mixing bowl, colander.
- Sue (10/5): A lovely cottage in a quiet location. Very clean with nice furnishings and comfortable beds. Suited our needs perfectly! - The cottage was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.
The host was very responsive. Nothing
- Mike (8/5): Lovely quite stay - The cottage was warm and cosy, it had everything we needed for a short break Nothing that we didn’t like excepts we kept bumping our heads on the lampshade in the living room
- Mo (9/5): -
- Phillip (10/5): - We went to visit friends and it was the only place in Rolleston on dove but it was very comfortable and we enjoyed the short walk to there house.

Neighbours lovely (&helpfull) * Front bedroom had no plug socket near the mirror. Long distance hair drying a bit of a challenge 😅
* Patio door was problematic unlocking from inside (could have been user error!).
* rear parking tight for larger vehicles.

- Debbie (8/5): Great value for money - Ideal location and size for our trip Nothing
- Pamela (10/5): Pleasant in a pleasant area - A pleasant well appointed place
Great having milk and coffee Beds were soft but linen lovely
- Kate (9/5): Superb - The cottage is a good size with plenty of areas to relax. Everything is immaculate: clean, tidy and comfortable. The host is responsive to messages.
For dog owners, there are two lovely local dog-friendly pubs within walking distance, and the Jinny Trail is a really nice and interesting dog-friendly walk 😊🐾 Not criticisms and didn't affect my review but:
1. It would probably be helpful to dog owners to know in advance that the garden is communal and not enclosed. There is access to a road from the garden, so I kept my dog on a lead when in the garden.
2. A pack or a page with go-to tips/useful information would be really handy - such as WiFi code, what to with rubbish/towels/bedding when checking out etc.
3. The parking at the back/in the garden is accessed through a very tight entrance (especially if your car isn't small) so knowing if it's OK to park on the street outside would be helpful.
- Paul (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a pretty village with 2 great pubs a short walk away. - Really comfortable, spacious and well equipped cottage, beautifully decorated and furnished. The parking round the back via a shared access track was a bonus, as was the very long garden, with the picnic table and chairs offering some welcome shade duringa heatwave. Neighbours very friendly and welcoming too. Didn't have any need to contact the owners after arrival, but pre arrival queries were answered very promptly. Plenty of kitchen utensils and equipment to allow for self catering if desired. Spacious bathroom, good quality toiletries, thick towels. This is one of the best properties we have stayed in, and we would be very happy to return. Nothing to dislike. I would agree with some other reviews that a welcome sheet with some info on appliances, WiFi password etc would be helpful. We worked everything out though and had a lovely stay.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dean (7/5): Overall ok... - Very roomy and spacious. Glad it had 2 double beds as we was 2 couples as some houses that have 2 bedrooms have a double and twin, so we'll done there. The back bedroom especially has white curtains that let in the light at 4am, would recommend blackout curtains, the fact only 1 bathroom for such a big house, could do with a downstairs toilet on its own too. And no freezer only fridge, so couldn't have any ice cubes for drinks or frozen foods to cook. Thinner duvets in summer too in front bedroom was like very very thick.
- David (8/5): An excellent base in a lovely area. - Spacious and well equipped in a lovely village. Plenty of tea and coffee with the all important pint of milk. Ideal location for us as we were visiting family who live nearby. We would certainly stay again. We were unable to find an information folder. As described, access to the parking space is tight. We used the rear bedroom and the combination of a nearby security light and the lightweight curtains disturbed us at night.
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Gang (8/5): MY STAY IS PLEASANT. - VERY GOOD SERVICE, CONVENEINT PLACE, NOISE INSULATION CAN BE IMPROVED (BEDROOMS & BATHROOM, AS WELL AS FROM NEIGHBOURS)
- Carol (3/5): not happy i don't expect to be very cold or have plates with chips on struggle with door - nice place i was very cold no heating sent email to host about how to put heating on got no answer cooker had no numbers on oven dials game of guess hoover was flat no broom or dust pan back door was hard to shut
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Whole house was spotless and the bedding was very comfy.
Close enough to burton on Trent centre that all the delivery apps are in range. And only a 10 min drive from JCB
- Alexandra (7/5): Very pleasant stay in a good quality rental - The cottage was well equipped and generally very clean. Off road parking was good but tricky with a large 4x4 to get into the lane. The area and house felt safe and comfortable. We found the bed a little uncomfortable. The walls are quite thin so could hear the neighbours, although the neighbours seem to be generally quite quiet people. The oven had no markings on it and I couldn’t find any instructions for it so had to guess.
- White (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage with everything you might need for a cozy weekend away. Good communication from host prior to stay.
- Morag (9/5): Lovely cottage and ideal location for us. We will definitely visit again. -
- Lorraine (9/5): Lovely cosy cottage which is decorated to a high standard - The cottage is beautifully decorated and everything was spotless. The owner had put up Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree which was lovely. A few minutes walk away from the Spread Eagle pub which does lovely food . This is not a complaint - just suggestions as we really like the cottage and would stay again. We would have loved. Fee more things to make our stay perfect - a cafetière, a basin in the sink and some information on shops and other amenities . Also information on appliances and what to do when leaving would have been helpful.
- Emma (9/5): Superb - The cottage is beautifully clean and comfortable. We felt very at home here for the weekend. The owner is very helpful and friendly too. Nothing to dislike really. Parking isn't the easiest but there are spaces around the back which can be accessed with a bit of skill!
- Jemma (10/5): Great stay stunning property - stunning property pictures do not do it justice. Will stay here again nothing
- Colin (10/5): Lovely cosy cottage - Lovely property with everything you could need.
Cosy with very comfortable beds. It was spotlessly clean.
- Pat (9/5): Little Gem - Very comfortable with everything we needed.
- Terry (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable property especially the beds. Well equipped with everything I needed. Quiet location very relaxing. Would return to this property There were no instructions or pack of information , this would have been useful for teh TV, wifi etc. There was a parking area at the back of the property but I did not find how to access this.
- Kathy (10/5): Enchanted cottage - Everything was lovely and clean. The host was very helpful letting us where to eat, good places to walk the dogs. Neighbours were very lovely and friendly 😊 Not applicable
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (9/5): Fabulous cottage- perfect for a short break in a great location. - Lovely cottage in excellent location. Very well equipped with convenient parking. Nothing
- Emma (9/5): Comfortable and clean - Really comfortable Small thing .. curtains were very light in bedroom and it was a particularly sunny weekend so we were woken at sunrise
- Andrew (10/5): Great accommodation - Very neat, clean and tidy. Just what we needed and fantastic value for money.
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Beautiful village location not far from Burton Under Needwood where my friend lives.
The cottage was just perfect, spotless & cosy with everything you need.
The pictures do not it justice.
Parking at the rear of property was ideal. Lovely quiet location. Loved waking up to the sound of the wood pigeons.
We would definitely return. This is not a dislike but more of a suggestion. The back door lock was a bit challenging! An additional security key located at the rear of the property.
Hair dryer, please 😊
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graham (9/5): A good base to explore the nearby cities and attractions. - It was comfortable and big enough for us. The access to parking is tight. The local area a bit boring.
- Lesley (10/5): Lovely stay. - Very clean, cosy, spacious and tastefully decorated. I feel that although it is a lovely place to stay, the price is a bit on the high side. I looked it up with a view to going back with my daughter and two grandchildren and was shocked to see that the price goes even higher with four occupants. That makes it more unaffordable for me.
- Helen (10/5): Great cottage in a great location. - Cottage was fabulous! Nothing. It was fabulous.
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bal (10/5): Great break away - Beautiful, peaceful, home from home. Nothing I can think of.
- Paul (10/5): Perfect accommodation and location - only downside (which shows how much we enjoyed it as is the only slight fault) was -
- Haydon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Excellent place to stay and good value for money - Lovely cottage. Very comfortable and clean No freezer compartment in fridge. Not a problem personally, but might be an issue for others.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marjorie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): We really felt relaxed and at home in The Enchanted Cottage and would highly recommend it. - Lovely, stylish decor. Very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Nice fluffy towels with good quality toiletries. Private parking a big plus. Nothing to dislike!
- Bennett (10/5): Exceptional - Location fantastic, lovely clean cottage No bottle opener bought wine and cider, would been nice to have bottle opener in propertie
