Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): A cosy place in the centre of town - The location was good for what I needed and the communication with the owner was excellent.
There was a fully equipped kitchen and various toiletries which was handy The shower wasn't great and I couldn't get the TV to work, Netflix, YouTube etc wouldn't load up or even terrestrial TV either
- Eduards (9/5): -
- Julie (8/5): - Location
- KenTaylor (10/5): I could have stayed longer. I relaxed into the place easily. - It was just a great place to relax in. Plenty of space to cook. Local amenities good. Nearby car park where I could use it for free after 3pm and before 8am. Clothes washing and drying facilities good. Washing machine vibrations when on a spin.
- jane (8/5): - Location is very convenient for my needs.
Very close to shops and takeaways
Main roads to all major places close
Communication with host is excellent I've always had quick response
- Catherine (7/5): Great location, comfortable and independent. - Location great for my needs. Liked that I could easily access the keys and come and go without disturbing anyone. Had everything I needed. Very comfortable.
- Svetoslav (8/5): -
- Deborah (7/5): - I liked the space and the amenities available and that there was a separate bedroom and separate bathroom. I liked the fact that it was easy to find. I was disappointed that there were no appropriate facilities for disabled people, and that this should have been made known. Both of the 2 rooms were located upstairs. I was also disappointed that access to the keys were located too high on the wall to access easily. The step just inside the property was a bit too high and the lock also on the front door!
- Dean (10/5): Great location lovely flat - Great place clean nice big and very comfy The only bad issue was there was only less than half a roll of toilet paper amd had to go buy more
- karen (8/5): Very pleasant , everything needed was provided. - Good location. Nice and clean , all items needed were provided . Noisy neighbours, locals drunk on main Street from pub.
Fine after about 11 pm.
Upstairs footsteps on floor could be heard .
- jane (9/5): - Pete is a excellent host
Communication is excellent too
Any problem is quickly fixed
Location is perfect for our needs
- mel (5/5): Good location but not the room we booked. - very good location The pictures of the rooms on the advert are the first floor and attic room ,we were given the ground floor room, no windows in the lounge /dinning room or bedroom (had to have lights on all the time) . The host called us the night before and said booking.com had double booked !.
- Katie (7/5): -
- Lewwanda (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - The Hideaway was bigger than I expected, which was nice. It had everything I needed to cook food, a fridge freezer, a washing machine, and a dryer, a large smart TV.
Everything I needed to have a lovely, comfortable stay. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
- Cooke (8/5): Very good - The location was center of town and very close to the local Tesco. Also if your a publican a good location as two local pubs near .. though there was a few times on our four night stay that there was a bit of loudness at closing time . This didn't last too long though so all in all a good stay at a central location in town There was a bit of loudness at pub closing time but other wise a good central and quite place
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Azidi (9/5): Superb - Great location, near to Snowdonia. Spacious and clean apartment where the host has provided all the necessary items for comfortable stay I wish it has shower instead of bathtub. But there is a shower inside the bathtub
- Annette (8/5): Very good -
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashley (5/5): Passable -
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Lovely big comfortable flat
It's ideal for my needs and I feel relaxed while staying
The flat has good heating which is easy to adjust
WiFi is very good
Pete is an excellent host
- Greta (1/5): Very uncomfortable dirty would not recommend - Location The property unhygienic ( Dirty )
- Emily (7/5): Good - Really love where the property is, very close to everything you’d need. The only thing I can really pick on is that the beds in the property are very small for two people.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (9/5): Superb - I've stayed at the flat numerous times now
It's perfect for my needs
The flat is spacious clean and comfortable
There is everything I need
The location is good for getting onto main roads to Chester, Liverpool or North Wales coast.
Plenty of shops within very short walking distance
The host is very quick to respond to any questions and very helpful.
If I travel on my own to the area I would always check availability for the flat
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - This is my 3rd stay. I find the location perfect for my needs
The flat is large and comfortable
I feel very relaxed during my stay
Pete is the perfect host and very helpful
- Olesya (9/5): Great location and good sleep - We stayed in the ground floor apartment, i believe one of the smaller ones. It was perfect for us as a couple. Cosie but not by any means small. Recently updated shower and kitchen. Bed is really comfortable and shower nice and hot with reasonable pressure.
Right on the high street, which has everything you need, cafes, pubs, shops, lidl and Tesco round the corner.
Good routes to Chester, Liverpool, and North Wales natural beauty along north Wales express way. Highly recommend Traeth Llanddwyn (1h20 away), chester (30min).
Pete was responsive and accommodating and even responded late at night. We had lots of great suggestions from pete about local beaches and places of interest. Price is great. Could do with another pan.
- Scarlet (8/5): It was perfect for seeing family over Christmas and good value - Easy location, very comfortable and close to family, and lovely and warm It was quite dirty with dirty t towels on the draining board , stains on cupboard doors , dirty oven top, and damp towels in bathroom
- Kelsea (10/5): Our stay was very cosy and comfortable, a lovely place to get away before Christmas - Very local and cosy place to stay N/a
- White (10/5): Cosy, quiet, value for money - It was cosy and pretty quiet. The owners replied quickly to messages. It was very value for money due to time of year, the fact I have genuis level 2 and booked in the app. A convenient location in town. Generous in providing tea, coffee, shampoo and conditioner. I like the fact there was a second bed option! It was quietest to sleep in the front room! Just the lack of parking and busy roads surrounding the high street. I parked up the road, there are options l just had to find a place! It would be useful to be given a couple of road names to park in as part of an introductory email, as then they could be put into Google maps. This would be useful for someone who has not been to the town before.
- Jane (9/5): Lovely flat - The flat is comfortable with lots of space
I was able to relax in the flat
Perfect for a couple or solo occupant.
Rooms are well lit
Bed is comfortable
Close to A55 for easy travel to Chester Liverpool or Welsh coast
Pete answered any questions quickly
I would highly recommend Smoke alarm is a bit close to cooker
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -

- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): An amazing spacious flat for a breakaway together - highly recommended! - Lovely spacious flat with everything we needed - it was warm and comfortable and very nicely furnished and maintained. The perfect place for a nice break away from home. Would definitely return in the future. Nothing, we really enjoyed our stay here and Pete was super helpful and friendly
- June (7/5): Good - It was nice the location was not what we expected
- Laser (4/5): never deal with liars!!! - comfortable and clean spacy messaged host couple days before what size fridge n freezer as on picture there are 2 different apartments got reply "regular household size" im on special diet so i needed to bring all food frozen
to my shock i arrived there and freezer was one small draw in the fridge wich it didnt work as it door was broken , i messaged host never got reply! had to send all food over to friend and eat there was a big headace
- Jacky (7/5): Good - Great town centre location. Bed quite soft for us.
- Cath (8/5): It was great value for money - It was nice and spacious with everything we needed The sofas were not very comfortable
Also the mattress was just ok
- Ian (8/5): A good place to stay - Windows wouldn’t open and probably most of the time it wouldn’t matter but this week it was really hot
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Angelique (10/5): Value for money - The property was very close to pantasap It’s was comfortable and clean
- Emil (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, comfy and clean
- Angela (10/5): Excellent apartment in the heart of Holywell - Great location, excellent value for money, massive apartment, easy access, perfect tor a weekend getaway. Loved it. There was nothing we didn’t like.
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - This little gem of a place is just perfect. In the middle of Holywell, the perfect location. The bed was so comfy. Will definitely be staying again. Ideal to be central for everything
- Mrs (10/5): Quirky Home Away From Home - The location is quiet and peaceful, even for a high street. Lots of quirky little shops as well as supermarkets all within walking distance. The apartment itself is cute and literally home from home. It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay Inc things like an iron, hair dryer, condiments, tea, coffee. We all love that fresh bedding feeling. You will get that here, the bedding smelt of Freshly washed Linen. It was lovely. A lovely apartment with character.
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Lovely well equipped flat. Clean and tidy
The lounge is big with plenty of seating. Big table for family meal if required
Nice feel to flat I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay
Pete was quick to answer any questions Nothing really
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent Host, great location, good value for money - The host was amazing and replied to the enquiries efficiently, The apartment was well situated in the town and very spacious. The place was a little hard to find at first the postcode takes you around the back of the apartment.
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - Location and flat in general was excellent Shower could do with changing to a more powerful one
- Natasha (6/5): Not the best experience - The apartment was nice, the bed comfortable. The location fairly easy to get to I found the plates and dishes were not cleaned properly but were put away and had to clean them myself before using them. The windows were awful. I just about managed to open the bedroom window but when I tried to shut it. It was jammed shut. The shower could’ve been more powerful. The heating was not that hot. Barely warm. The area outside the bedroom was very noisy. I was woken up early every day. The one thing that annoyed me the most was I originally booked for different dates and they got cancelled by the property and they offered a discount on future dates. I then go to book and the rates I got given were a lot and I mean a LOT higher than were being advertised on booking.com. I mentioned this and got no response. I even offered to just pay the going rate that was being charged for the dates which I did and asked if I could just check out later instead of the discount which is well not the best deal for me but still got ignored. I found this to be extremely rude. I’d even booked longer than I had originally booked and ended up checking out early due to the other issues with the apartment. Oh and I checked in (got told the apartment was ready early so could check in early) I checked in on time. Only to find that the toilet hadn’t been cleaned or even flushed!! Rather disgusting that was. Overall not the best place I’ve stayed in. Had to figure out what lockbox was mine as I was only given the code and there was 2.. so many problems it got quite annoying.
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little apartment. Great facilities in a lovely little village with all local amenities available.
Comfortable bed, decent shower. A lovely place to stay, and in ideal location for visiting North Wales. Local parking meters don't accept money overnight, which is a pain when you're working nights.
- Steven (8/5): Very good - Lovely apartment, don't expect 5* , bit this little place has everything you need. Work is being carried out to improve the entrance and stairwell , but once you enter the apartment it is lovely. The area is a bit noisey with the pubs ,no parking place allocated so a bit of messing about.
- Tracy (10/5): Idyllic little place - Perfect little place. Central to Where I needed to be. The bed was so comfortable Nothing
- Kerry (9/5): Absolutely brilliant, such a comfy and cosy place to stay, would stay again! - Absolutely brilliant, such a comfy and cosy place to stay, it really felt like it was truly our home for the week. Great value for money! Super comfy bed and sofa, kitchen and bathroom was stocked with cleaning and cooking facilities which was brilliant. Really nice quiet location to spend a cosy week away! Would definitely stay there again! Unfortunately the fridge temperature had been turned right up so it needed defrosting and kept freezing our items! But it wasn't an issue as we lowered the dial once we realised what had happened.
- Becky (8/5): Perfect for what we needed - Really spacious apartment in a great location, right on the high street. The owner was really lovely, accommodating, and caring. Parking was free round the back. There was shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and bath bubbles available which was a lovely touch, as well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate available. The apartment could have been cleaner, there was tooth paste on the mirror in the bathroom when we arrived for example. It's worth to note it's quite an old building so it was quite loud in the storm with vents flapping and windows creaking. The fridge was too cold & needs defrosting. It froze my milk.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - A large, clean, one bedroom apartment on the high street of a pleasant little town. Close to shops, bars, and restaurants. There is plenty of parking close by. Close to A55, making it an excellent base for exploring the North Wales coast and Chester.
- Jaimie (8/5): Nice little get away - Lovely little flat. Good lay out.
Very grateful for the requesting being fulfilled 😊😊
Towels provided and bedding, toiletries were also in the bathroom.
Cleaning supplies in the kitchen.
Tea coffee and sugar were also there.
Bedroom bigger than expected. Hairdryer was a bonus! Not the fault of the renter... Noise outside on the street. Kids being kids, wasn't too bad.
Bed a little hard for me.
- Antony (9/5): Superb -
- Jathusha (6/5): Comfortable stay but needs some upgrading - The bed provided a soft and cozy sleep experience, complemented by effective heating. The accommodation offered convenient cooking facilities and ample towels. The host's communication was excellent throughout our stay, ensuring a smooth check-in process. The location was ideal, with Tesco, Lidl, and Iceland conveniently nearby. The shower could benefit from an upgrade as it lacks sufficient power. The TV appears small from the sofa; ideally, a 40-inch TV would enhance the viewing experience. Additionally, the pots, pans, and mugs were not properly cleaned; we took care of that ourselves. Some extra care is needed for the glasses. Coasters need upgrading and cushions on the dining table chairs would be ideal.
- Harry (10/5): Perfect - Location, size, bath, heating, kitchen. It was perfect for our needs. Will definitely return again. Being next to weatherspoons was wonderful for an affordable breakfast every morning. Wouldn't really want to fault it.
- Keith (9/5): Superb - Lovely flat Nothing it was perfect very happy
- Fernando (10/5): I totally recommend it - Nice an renovated flat, is close to supermarkets, there parking close. There’s an amazing kitchen if you like to cook, the owner was helpful in all the ways. The laundry machine shake it to much
- Christos (9/5): Great value for money and enjoyable stay. - Clean, comfortable flat with all the amenities I needed. Tasteful furniture, cozy and in a good location. Pete was very helpful and accommodating.
- Roz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (10/5): Wonderful hideaway - Everything. The locality, right in the centre of town but really quiet. The design and decor, full of interesting quirky touches like the jungle shower curtain and the dolphin sink plug. The facilities- full kitchen, great shower and bath, fantastic bed, efficient heating, fast WiFi. The people were great, always on hand and helpful.
And extremely affordable! We will definitely be back, Holywell is a great place, lots of interesting sites and walks, close to the wonderful Talacre Beach and gorgeous Mold Market. Nothing
- Adrian (10/5): As the name suggests, the perfect 'Hideaway'. Highly recommended. - Exceeded my expectations. Cleanliness and home comforts were outstanding, as were the hosts in all my communications with them. Probably the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a long time other than my own at home. I have already been in touch with Pete to go back regularly when I'm in the area. Fab little property Pete, thank you. The Rain !!
- Hayley (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (7/5): Good - Very nice apartment, im from a very busy area, (city) so the high street didn't bother us, if it got a bit much. - Few pubs around. "So to be expected at times. . Pete kept us updated, and I'm sure if we needed anything he would have sorted it.
Let ourselves in with key box, same when we left(perfect) . Cleaner on time: We were still out the front, had left on time, key already in box. She seem friendly "Overall no problems, We had a lovely stay., home from home.
- Tim (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): What a Gem - This extremely well presented flat was exceptional because of the caring nature of the landlord.
We were greeted by a family member and shown to the property.
The property is exceptionally well equipped with Tea, Coffee and sugar to greet us There was nothing not to like apart from the stairs, which I was aware of, being disabled this was a bit difficult for me, particularly with heavy shopping from Tesco
- Jonathan (10/5): Had a great stay. - Perfect for what I needed, a little hideaway for getting some work done. Cafe next door, supermarket 5 minute walk away. Parking very close (£1.50 per day!).
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura-leigh (9/5): Superb - Lovely apartment and lovely location. Had everything we needed. Can't complain about anything!
- Ann (6/5): We enjoyed our stay and are pleased that the flat is available again. - Pleasantly surprised to see the hairdryer. There were no instructions for the television. We have a smart television, Virgin box and my son subscribes to a number of streaming services- we have three remote controls. Even so it took us ages, and my brother helped, to access terrestrial television to watch live news and television. Also I was very surprised that both a mop and bucket and a vacuum cleaner were left in the living room and the ironing board in the bedroom. There was plenty of room on the landing outside the flat to store these.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Good value for money, good location to go off and visit places
- Wei (9/5): Superb - The location and the facilities and the layout of the flat itself is wonderful. But most importantly is Pete, the host. He is so friendly, quick in response to any queries and helpful.
- Derek (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Zoe (9/5): Would highly recommend - Very clean and spacious property.. couldn’t find any faults other than there was no bowls with the dining set, but this didn’t really effect our stay. Very good and helpful communication with the property before hand. Nothing
- Jamie (6/5): A nice flat in a scruffy location - A nice flat. Comfy bed, good sized lounge area. Table for eating. The location. The flat is in the High Street of a tired town. There are several pubs and take aways nearby. Late afternoon into the evening lots of noise, people shouting at each other, drunks arguing etc. I don't mind high spirits but this was every day, multiple times. They should change the name to 'Shoutwell'. It was even an issue one morning as we left at 0400.
Lots of scruffy teenagers loitering as well, going to the car was an uncomfortable experience.
So to parking, or the lack thereof. If lucky there is a space in the High Street for overnight, but often these were taken before we arrived back. There is a small lane at the side of the flat with a couple of spaces, but very tight space, dark at night and hit and miss as to whether there is a space available.
The flat is nice enough. The stairs up are quite steep, and there seems to be ongoing work in the stairwell. The flat windows do not have safety locks, I would not want a small child in there. Granted this is a 1 bed but some will look at this accommodation for a small child or two, I would definitely not feel safe on this front
The kitchen lacks utensils etc. For example no bowls, so eating cereal was a challenge. Lacking in knives and other things for cooking.
I could not get to grips with the TV. It does not have the usual terrestrial channels, instead mostly rubbish American sit coms. No instructions on use.
Taps in bathroom very loose and in need of attention. I raised this with owner on day 1 but although he came in with various bits of furniture during our stay, for example changing the settee, this issue was not addressed.
No recycling available.
- John (9/5): Very enjoyable stay here - Clean and spacious apartment, great communication from the host
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Fiona (3/5): Poor - When we arrived at the apartment we found it had not been cleaned after the previous customers.
The whole apartment was dirty, there was an unpleasant smell and lots of flies. The bed and sofa bed had dirty linen and dirty towels on them, the toilet, bathroom, kitchen and dining area were dirty.
I telephoned the owner and sent photos and videos. He apologised, saying there had been a miscommunication, he offered us a part refund, which we accepted. He asked us to leave the apartment for 90 minutes while the cleaning lady came.
We returned later to find the beds made, folded towels and some surfaces wiped. Bed linen and towels were extremely heavily febreezed. Unfortunately the very smelly bath matt remained. After further communication this was replaced the next day with a brand new one.
The owner also said that a further 2 hour clean would be done, but this did not happen.
The fridge and freezer still contained opened foods and milks, which we disposed of.
The condition of the apartment overall was not good. Some furniture was broken/damaged, the old enamel hob was badly chipped, skirtings, headboard, walls were dirty. Windows were very old and draughty.
Had there been another option to move to, we would have.
- Tony (10/5): Excellent stay! Fabulous host, very helpful. -
- Phoebe (8/5): Overall good stay - The property was spacious and had everything we needed. We were able to travel to lots of great places on the coast, with relative ease, as we were fairly close to the A55. The shower worked well. There wasn’t much to do in Holywell itself. We had trouble using the oven.
- Michael (9/5): Excellent value for money.Would thoroughly recommend - Self catering so had breakfast out Just the windows gave trouble and couldn't work the heating g that's my fault rather than the hosts
- Whitworth (10/5): This place is great for a getaway, met all expectations and more. I’d definitely recommend and come back in the future. - The apartment was clean, open plan and stylish. Comfortable furnishings and a very practical layout. We could chill out in the evening and watch Netflix which is free to use.
I was surprised the owner even left milk, butter and a sandwich in the fridge which was very kind! Nice touch. Only a minor niggle like the over sensitive smoke alarm going off when using the toaster.
- Shepheard (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was clean and very spacious, and I would recommend this apartment for anyone the stay, either a couple or 4 people.
Location was central to where we wanted to visit and the price was affordable.
I will be booking again later in the year.
- Samirah (10/5): Very cosy location with high street right outside, very warm and accessible - the property was spotless with lots of furniture and duvets. The tv was working fine as well as network connection. Beautifully spaced property There was nothing not to like.
- Claire (10/5): Helpful hosts. Lovely, comfortable property. Local walks and amenities close by. - Friendly, accommodating hosts. Great value for money. On the high street but quiet and great base to explore North Wales. We’ll definitely be back.
- Terence (9/5): Superb - Two silly little things missing, can opener and fish slice to fry eggs but still great
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, it was warm, cosy and clean.
