Guest Reviews
- Susannah (9/5): Service excellent and a beautiful spot to rest in Musanze. - The staff were wonderful!
- kees (9/5): - The location and the staff
- Pacifique (9/5): - Good Environment
- Anastasiia (10/5): Attentive staff made the stay exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay as the staff made us feels like we are in upper-class accommodation with their attention to details and kindness. I celebrated my birthday there, and they congratulated me with the beautiful cake before the start of gorilla trekking. Excellent service and attitude.
- Richard (7/5): A pleasant but fairly basic accommodation while visiting Volcanoes National Park. - The staff was super friendly and helpful. Shower water was hot and the towels were large. A mosquito net was provided. The posted welcome message for me was personal and charming. Breakfast was sufficient and included eggs. Welcome smoothie and breakfast smoothies were appreciated. Parking was easy. Room was spacious with a small couch. Light from outside is not totally blocked at night. Restaurant had limited ice cubes. Access to the property is down a short, bumpy dirt lane. There are no screens on windows.

- shahab (10/5): - The location is great. The staff is very helpful & polite; they would go extra miles to assist you. Even the owner created a personal touch she arranged for us outdoor bonfire under the stars & forest surrounding that all of us throughly enjoyed. Also we had good breakfast in open area of the restaurant while enjoying the nature too. Nothing as such
- Gerard (7/5): Handy hotel - new owners work in progress - predict continued improvement. - Good location ( but difficult to find if travelling without tour guide) and great link with gorilla tour people. Really friendly, pleasant staff. Hotel rooms are roomy but need a bit of an overhaul. Lighting in particular needs improved.
Hot water was a bit hit and miss.
English ( like most of Rwanda - limited)
- Jeff (9/5): Very convenient to Volcanoes National Park - Outstanding customer service & very good breakfast A little cold at night
- Noémi (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great time at Karisimbi Cave Resort, the staff is exceptionally kind and professional. I really recommend to stay here!
- Kimberley (10/5): Stayed for one night ahead of gorilla trekking - Really peaceful and are environment. The hotel also recommended a super company for the gorilla trekking experience and pick up from Kigali.
- Jacqui (10/5): Wish I could have stayed longer. Loved everything ❤️ - I absolutely loved everything about this property. Everyone is super friendly. Even got a little gift which I have been wearing every day since. The food was delicious - big portions. There was hot water and the shower was great. I can honestly not fault a single thing. It is a really peaceful environment.
- Xia (10/5): It’s a cozy and beautiful resort, close to volcanoes park. The room is spacious and clean. Breakfast is very good. Will - Very convenient for gorilla trekking. The garden is beautiful and quiet.
- Lucy (10/5): a relaxing, luxurious retreat with exceptional staff - The staff was outstanding. They were attentive at all times of the day. We spent the last day gorilla trekking and they provided us with early breakfast, packed lunches, and late-checkout. The breakfast was excellent. The room is huge, luxurious, and nicely decorated. This resort is a great place to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. We particularly enjoyed spending a cozy afternoon there reading by the fireplace and drinking tea while it was raining outside. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner. But overall this place is still 10/10
- Andrew (9/5): A comfortable, clean and affordable place to stay while exploring the area. - The staff were very welcoming and friendly and were always on hand to assist with a smile. The little lounge area with a fireplace is really a cozy place to rest and relax after a long day out exploring.
- Jann (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is exceptionally helpful and nice! Received a small welcome gift and juices. Offered table tennis, volleyball and football to use for free. It's a nice place to stay at. The recommended guide for hikes is not necessary and not professional. You pay USD 100 for get picked up and that he buys the entrance ticket for national park for you, nothing else included. You can only pay him in USD and don't get a receipt.
- Nicole (9/5): Probably the only mid-range place in Musanze where you actually get what you pay for - If you travel just as a normal person, not a tourist willing to pay thousands of dollars a night for (still only average) accommodation, it’s quite difficult to find some sort of value for money in Rwanda. It usually all looks okay in the pictures and then you arrive and nothing is as it should be for that price. Here the room was spacious, not too clean, but clean enough. You had some privacy and the noise of the town was also bearable. The staff was very friendly and the food okay (actually the whole grilled chicken was very, very good). We received a beautiful little gift at check-in and a constant follow up on our satisfaction by the lodge staff, which I highly appreciated. As other reviews have stated already, the whole challenge about hot water and water pressure, etc. can be a bit of a downside, but we could shower and wash ourselves at all times (which is already something, compared to other accommodation in that price range).
- Bartlomiej (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place with superb service. Great food. Good location. Problems with hot water.
- Ilka (9/5): It was a very pleasant and comfortable i in big pavillions and a superb Garden. Next Time we will try to stay again in - The big rooms and bathrooms, the view on the vocanos, the excellent breakfast, the superbe garden, the nice waiters, the places to sit in the garden, the closeness to the volcano Park, We missed a person from the management to welcome us and be available for explanations about the lodge and its history.
- Norman (9/5): Aline and her team are extremely helpful people. They prepared lunch packages for our Sabyinyo hike. Very affordable rat - huge room, comfortable bed, quiet place
- Markus (9/5): Superb - Very nice garden and the staff is super friendly!
- Tan (8/5): Very good -
- Jorge (8/5): Very good -
- Chi-jen (10/5): Close to Volcanoes National Park, super friendly staffs, helping women employment - The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. They always try their best to make us feel comfortable and help to answer all of our questions. The management team is very responsive. They even helped to recommend tour agencies and drivers when we were planning our itineraries. The resort is helping women to get quality job. The resort is very close to the headquarter of Volcanoes National Park, just a 20 minutes drive, so we get to prepare our activities in the Park with ease. The kitchen of the hotel is pretty nice too, as a vegan, they provide me a lot of options. Nothing really. We had a great time there.
- Mcfaddin (10/5): Wonderful stay at an awesome eco resort with great service and lovely rooms. - I loved that it was a women owned eco resort. No plastic water bottles. The staff was wonderful. Helped me beyond belief getting the tour I really wanted with a great guide. Good food and even an espresso machine!!! Signage is a little hard to see and road is a little bumpy.
- Andrew (8/5): A quiet and relaxing place to stay with a warm welcome - Our room was enormous, with loads of light. It wasn't perhaps the cosiest room we've stayed in though, with lots of tiles and hard surfaces, but the bed was comfy, with a wrap round mosquito net. The staff were always friendly and pleased to help. We felt very welcome. We had really nice dinners in the evening (including the best pizza I had in Rwanda) and we really enjoyed the breakfasts. One night a large fire was burning next to the dining room when it was a bit chilly outside. There was no problem in having a breakfast at 6am on the day we went Gorilla Trekking. As always in Rwanda it is best to order your food several hours in advance. The drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters is about 15 mins. The whole site is spread over a large garden area which is nicely maintained, and there were beautiful flowers in our room and on the table at breakfast and dinner. It is now possible to pay by card. You have to drive down a short (100 metre) rough road to get to the gates. This isn't unusual in Rwanda. The water for the shower is solar heated, so isn't guaranteed to be piping hot.
- Emmanouil (7/5): Good -
- Beat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Braeckmans (9/5): Superb -
- Marjolijn (9/5): Superb - It’s a really great location, the park entrance for gorilla trekking is about 20 minutes away. You’re in the town but you don’t feel that when you stay here because it’s a really quiet place in nature.
Breakfast is really nice, the rooms are clean and spacious, the beds comfortable. Dinner was really nice as well, sitting either in the garden or at the fire place.
- Julia (8/5): Beautiful and convenient location with amazingly welcoming staff! - Location was fabulous! Beautiful property. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was well prepared and prompt. Our dinner meal, not so much.
- Charles (9/5): Superb -
- Carolin (9/5): Great place to stay in Musanze! Only a 20 min drive to the starting point of the gorilla tours. - The staff is incredibly helpful and quick to suggest advice or connect guests to local guides. Fruits and water was available in the room and fill-ups were included. The restaurant has a very good coffee machine and offers breakfast at 5.30am to ensure that guest can eat before leaving for the gorilla tour. Lunch boxes are also available. The compound is very big, quite, and calm. The wifi was weak in the rooms.
- Lycie (10/5): Exceptional - Was really nice to be there with my boyfriend,Sandra the reception was friendly and customers care is their priorities
We went for hiking in volcanoes national Park but when we came back even if we were checking out they was still taking care of us
We will come back
Was magical to stay to your resort
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were so hospitable and welcoming. Food was delicious. Would recommend as a good place for being close to the volcanoes and getting to lake Kivu.
