• John Button (9/5): - Unique location across the street from a hilltop castle. The hotel is styled as a castle as well. They offer a secure garage for my motorcycle. Interesting stay. Limited staff so sometimes it took a while to get service. Very helpful when available.

• Fleur (8/5): - Mooi hotel, mooie plek, eerste plaatsje uit de Sierra Nevada, kasteel op de heuvel ligt er prachtig. Restaurant erbij is fijn, goede en vriendelijke service. Water viel 2x uit, Wifi-bereik op de kamer werkt nauwelijks, daarvoor moet je eigenlijk naar beneden.

• Angel Pedro (9/5): Cómodo y agradable. - Hotel cómodo y a un precio razonable. Baño y camas bien. La temperatura cuesta algo regularla pero una vez funcionando un rato te quita el frío que hacía en la Calahorra. Restaurante y bar adecuados. Ya he estado algunas veces mas aquí. Volveré. Quizás algo mas de calor en la zona de cafetería vendría bien. Y algo mas de atención en la recepción.

Nos tocó llegar muy tarde a hacer el check-in y no nos pusieron ningún problema En la habitación en la que estuvimos habían debido rociar algún ambientador o insecticida que aún olía bastante fuerte. Fue cuestión de abrir la ventana y ventilar un poco, lo único que nos tocó hacerlo de noche

• Heard (4/5): It's no 4 star - The staff were excellent. The food was good. The location was great for walking and exploring the area. Upon arrival, the room was very cold, and the heating was difficult to work. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, no bottles of water. The beds were very uncomfortable, as was the one pillow. The matress protector was of a waterproof material, which made the sheets feel damp and wrinkled. Guests arriving in the night were very noisy with their suitcases, loud talking and slamming of doors. Making for an overall sleepless night! I would not rate it a 4 star.

• Kristamariep (8/5): Nice place to stay to explore Guadix from - Very clean room with a great view of the castle. The staff member that checked us in was very nice as well. Comfortable beds and a spacious walk-in shower with toiletries included in the room price. We could also connect to Netflix on the TV which was a bonus. The heating had been put on in the room in advance but the room was still quite cool (we visited in early December). Some parts of the room had been updated but others needed a modern overhaul. There was a very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom that was very off putting though. We also had to wait 15 minutes for someone to arrive at the reception desk and ended up phoning the hotel to get someone's attention.

• Berg (9/5): Surprisingly good hotel that was more used to wedding venues than tourists passing by. - On the main road but so well insulated that we didn't hear any traffic. Big room. Fine garden, good food and excellent wine recommended by the waiter. It's in a very rural setting so the surroundings are not super-attractive. But it was a great experience due to the good service and food!

• David (9/5): Splendid building and lovely interior - I was in a panic having cycled over the pass from Tabernas without anywhere to stay as I wasn't sure how far I'd be able to go. Once I paused and booked this on line all was well. That was well and truly confirmed when I arrived. Impressive building, a friendly welcome and sumptuous furnishings. Utterly excellent Nothing springs to mind; lack of other residents gave it a slightly forlorn air - hopefully it's often busier.
