Guest Reviews
- edwina (10/5): Family history tour with sisters and nieces. - Beautiful house with all we needed. Comfy beds lots towels. And kitchen well equipped. Lots history and things to do. All good
- Michele (9/5): - The house is spacious and comfortable. Great location for visiting many sites in the west.
- Moran (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing, cozy retreat. - It's a beautiful mix of modern amenities in a historic, peaceful home. It felt like a vacation just being the home.
The kitchen and bedrooms were fully stocked with anything you might need. It's easy to find and only a few minutes drive from town.
We had a minor housekeeping issue upon check-in that was handled with multiple personal followups from the owner to ensure we were happy, and we were.
- jacinta (10/5): Highly recommend, could not fault it - Large rooms, comfortable beds. We stayed in October and it was warm - radiators in every room and two wood stoves. Beautiful historic house. Walking distance to Corofin We liked everything. There was no air fryer, however the oil fired range was ideal for cooking
- Shane (10/5): Superbly renovated home with loads of history! - Beautifully presented clean home in a quiet location. We loved the history and location. There were plenty of rooms to suit our party of 7 and the three bathrooms were beautiful. The kitchen was gorgeous and well equipped as was the laundry! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn’t stay for long enough! Oh well, next time we will book for longer 🙂
- Paul (10/5): - Top class house, in exc condition
- MANUEL (9/5): -
- Brian (9/5): Excellent stay with friends and family - Space, warm , comfortable Nothing
- MACKEN (10/5): A great find in East Co Clare - What a great find. Really well appointed large rental home. Large outdoor area, great kitchen and five generous bedrooms.
We loved the rural location
- Susan (10/5): 5* Exceptional - Group of 6 friends arrived on individual motorcycles, huge parking area.
The house itself was very large, everything you would want it to have, it did, all had separate bedrooms, (5) one of which had en-suite, and two other full bathrooms, all of the rooms were exceptionally clean and very spacious, couldn’t fault anything
at all. Plenty of contact from the owner. A real pleasurable experience, would highly recommend without hesitation. Thank You. N/A
- HILARY (10/5): Super spacious house, beautifully maintained, well equipped a short drive from Corrofin - All very comfortable, clean & well equipped. Lots to see & do within easy reach by car including walking The Burren & wonderful coastline Nothing not to like
- Nicholle (10/5): Exceptional - Great house, spacious and comfortable. Accommodated our group of 9 well, had everything we could need. Kitchen facilities well exceeded expectations. Great to have a laundry with washer and dryer. It was also lovely to have some outside seating as the weather was spectacular.
Lovely location, lots to see in the area. Great parking.
- James (10/5): Excellent property would stay again - elots of hot water, extra large rooms, beautiful views. heat controls did not seem to work as advertised but weather was such it did not cause any problems
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roger (10/5): Beautiful property in a great location - A beautiful house in a lovely location. We stayed here as a family (6 adults) , as we were attending a family wedding in Dromoland Inn . It was perfect for us , roomy , comfortable and well equipped. We all said that we wished we could have stayed longer . It is a perfect location, as Ennis , Shannon, Dromoland , the Burren , Lahinch , Lisdoonvarna are all close by. Doonbeg is also only 45 minutes away . Paul was a brilliant host and responded very quickly to queries. All in all a perfect stay , I have stayed in many places using Booking.Com and this is one of the best.
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - The location was perfect for us, the local village had great pubs and facilities and only 3 min drive away. The house itself is set out really well with great facilities, and perfect for a large family or multiple groups, with amble room. Nothing to add
- Nick (10/5): We had a fantastic stay and the owner was veey helpful. We are very grateful - History of this house is amazing- and its ambience attests to that. Thoroughly recommended for groups or family stay. Nothing to not like!
- Nathan (10/5): A beautiful house and perfect rural retreat in the most beautiful part of Clare -
- Cosmo (10/5): We loved every minute of our stay here. - The home is superb in every way, and the owner is terrific. We had high expectations before arriving and were not disappointed at all. We loved staying here. My only complaint is that our stay was far too short, all my fault. There is nothing I did not like. Unbelievable, I know.
- Kirstin (9/5): Lovely, spacious, well equipped house in a great location for exploring - Very spacious house- all rooms were large, including all 4 double bedrooms.
Having a separate utility room was a bonus with rainy weather during our stay.
Dining room worked well as a board games room as there was a huge kitchen table to dine at.
Plenty of seating in lounge and access to Sky and Netflix.
Only 35 minutes to the Cliffs of Moher and Aran ferry at Doolin, a few hours to Connemara (Diamond Hill walks and Kylemore Abbey). Google maps didn’t recognise the address so it took a bit of finding. A What3Words reference would have been good.
- Bart (10/5): We enjoyed our 11 days here and hope to return next year, if possible - Beautiful home lovingly restored and maintained.
Very comfortable and authentic. We loved the history of the property captured by stunning pictures. Superbly presented. We were looked after in every way. Arguably the best house we stayed in Clare over the past 25 years! Nothing.
- Geraldine (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this luxurious, spacious and historic country house :) - The property is full of character and history and it has been very tastefully renovated. There was lots of space for our family of 4. Beds were very comfortable and lots of clean fluffy towels. Everything was in the house that was needed for self catering and there were lots of options for eating out in the area. Corofin is a lovely village and a great base for exploring Co. Clare. The house is located close to a bend on a country road with no paths. Although nearby, walking into the village could be challenging, particularly with kids.
- Mohammad (9/5): Superb - Location is great for exploring Co. Clare and Galway. Specious house and great communication with the host.
- Brendan (10/5): A perfect base for touring Clare and the Burren. - Paul's house is exceptional and makes an excellent base for touring Clare, with easy access to the Burren. The very spacious rooms are all tastefully decorated, with the facilities and large parking/patio area all contributing to a very comfortable stay. We were visiting family in Corrofin and they were all hugely impressed with the house when they visited. The information on the spectacular history of the house was particularly interesting. All round it was a great experience. It's hard to think of anything - maybe a mirror opposite the gate would be helpful when turning out of the driveway.
