- Robyn (9/5): Wedding weekend - Great location, very clean. Everything you needed was there Was all pretty good
- Sarah (9/5): -
- Harper (8/5): Short break in Dunkeld - Interesting cottage in great spot just out of the town. Walkable to everything.
Appreciated the supplies as we were on the road each few days cycling.
If you've not been before the bakery ( now in main street) is exceptional. The fancy pants pub doesn't get all stuffy if you just want a drink. We had eaten there before and it was very good $$. Bit of a fiddle to get in if you are a Luddite but then fine.
Michelle was on it.
- Cassandra (10/5): We had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay. - Lovely little cottage with comfortable beds.
- Dale (10/5): Comfortable stay on a work trip that had everything I needed - Clean tidy and well appointed Nothing
- Paulka Wade (7/5): It was a lovely cottage well equipped and comfortable but taps in vanity unit need updating - Bathroom was not great. Could do with a new vanity unit taps were not easy to open and close cold tap kept dripping

- Denice (8/5): Great quirky little cottage, very relaxing. - Beautiful garden surrounds and so lots of birds. Very generous pantry and supplies and personal effects left for use. Plenty of wood for fire in case turned cool … which it did. Appeared to be single level but turned out to be on several levels with 2steps down from lounge and one down to bathroom. Am currently “stair challenged” so had to be really careful.
- Michal (10/5): Charming, cosey place. - The location is perfect. The house is charming, cosey, very well equipt and well arranged. The house was very clean and lights were turned on for us which was very welcoming.
Shame we couldn't enjoy the lovely garden due to bad weather.

- Patricia (8/5): A cosy cottage - The Secret Garden was warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the garden and particularly appreciated Michelle's help with accessing the property and allowing us to stay on a bit longer on Sunday. The pantry was very well stocked and food preparation equipment was generally very adequate (a potato masher would have been helpful). Location was excellent. We walked everywhere. We had to be mindful of the different levels and steps within the house, and found the kitchen a bit cramped. A dish washing machine would have been nice.
- Nikk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malcolm (7/5): Good - Charming comfortable cottage in a location that suited us It should have been swept before we arrived, some debris on the floor.
More provisions for breakfast would have helped.
The owner had been called away and we were warned it was not fully prepped but there should have been a back up plan.
It is a garden cottage but the garden was showing the signs of the dry year and looked sad and a bit run down.
- Chapagain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derinmai (10/5): The best cute house - Unbelievable top notch house. From the beginning to the end all just perfectionist. Owner is amazing kind on everything.
We enter the house and in same moment 5 kangaroos at the garden. Lots of birds, always some kangaroo, beautiful garden, walking in the garden and around house is so nice.
In the house every detail is so nice. All equipment in the kitchen for make food and coffee. There was olive oil, salt and pepper, some spices, even pasta, tea, jams, sauces lots of food in the cellar.
So clean and comfortable beds.
So cute house in and outside.
If the weather is not allowing you go out, lots of games.
I can write a lot of more details but all you need to know if you are looking to this house and if it is available on your time, don't miss it. Absolutely nothing.

- Lewis (10/5): A lovely and interesting house and garden -
- Nick (8/5): Beautiful setting , lovely to wake up to bird song and and kangaroos. - Lovely authentic cottage and a beautiful garden. Loved the heritage features, would like to know more about its history.
Very well set up pantry. The electronic lock was temperamental, not user friendly. Glad to have a spare key available. Limited TV/streaming.
- Judy (8/5): Clean, neat cottage with fireplace. Close to restaurants, town area and walks. - Clean, cosy cottage. Well equipped and close to everything we needed.
Host was very obliging. Pillows on the bed were uncomfortable.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Danni (8/5): Lovely location house full equipped whatever you need. - We bought our breakfast Different levels of the house, although the head rails you had to be careful
- Julie (9/5): Lovely cottage in garden surrounds - Walking distance to Dunkeld township. Lovely cottage and well appointed in beautiful garden surrounds. Comfy beds. Enjoyed the wildlife surrounding the cottage and township. No biggies really. The dining room wall heater although appeared on, was not working. Only 4 cups, one of which was chipped. Some serving platters would be nice.
- Neville (7/5): Southern Grampians base. - Charming cottage with extensive grounds. Garden would be nice in Spring. Wallabies in garden. Nice paths for walking from cottage into Dunkeld. Great location for exploring Grampians. Washing machine and dryer provided. Problem with initial access due to not receiving instructions. Foraged for wood scraps for fire until advice provided about collecting bags of wood from a nearby property. Suggest replacing chipped mugs.
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susanne (10/5): Very pleasant stay, so would recommend. - Cottage shows its history in a good way. It was cold at night and the heating was definitely adequate. We chose not to light a fire but nice to have that option. It was also nice to see local kangaroos (perhaps some wallabies too) and cockatoos. We catered for ourselves mostly and kitchen had all we needed. Great too, to have a washing machine and dryer.
- Leo (9/5): Superb -
- Shanthi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (10/5): A relaxing break in a lovely location - Quiet location in a lovely cottage with beautiful expansive gardens provided by a thoughtful host.
- George (9/5): An enjoyable two days - It was quaint and quiet Door lock could be tricky
- Peta (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (9/5): Pretty, quiet, cosy and relaxing little cottage. - Really pretty location, easily accessing town and wonderful walking tracks in and around town. Fantastic garden both productive and attractive, with a lovely deck out into the garden. We loved that it felt like a home and not a hotel room. nothing much - just a little ajustment required on the sensor light for the internal steps - it needs to turn on before the first step so you can see it on approach.
- Keren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Perfect base for a weekend away to explore the town and region. - Beautiful garden, cosy and lots of character, homely feel.
- Damien (9/5): Superb - Clean, warm, comfortable and lots of little extras. Beautiful decor and gardens. Nothing!!! It was really nice.
- Alison (8/5): we had a great time. - It has a lovely vibe and I loved the garden and setting. Cooking facilities were easy to use. My elderly parents struggled a little with the different levels of floor within the house. Thank you for the night light by the step.
- Anonymous (10/5): beautiful unique cottage, relaxing atmosphere - clean, unique cottage stay. comfortable and beautiful property & garden
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennie (9/5): very sweet cottage for a comfotable 2 night stay and good value for money. - quiet location ,easy walk to the main st. Great to have a wood burning fire for the chilly nights and the other heating works well and quickly to take the early morning chill away. Very comfy bed and a nice touch to have hot water bottles .
Kangaroos outside the window a highlight in the evening and I saw 2 in the back garden . Very well equipped kitchen . Quick and easy communication with host, Michelle when the code didnt work and to sort out another small issue. We had organised an earlier check in but the cleaners were not aware of that and were there when we arrived .
there is a step down from the living room to kitchen which may be an issue if you have mobility issues. I think this should be pointed out altho you can see it in the photo
The towels are getting a bit thin.
More wood and some kindling to start the fire would have been appreciated
The pantry carpet is in need of replacing and the pantry a bit smelly. I think maybe the onions and garlic hanging in the doorway
- Sandra (7/5): Cute cottage but needs a deep clean & a bit of TLC. - The backyard was gorgeous with all the kangaroos.
The cottage was spacious for the 3 of us.
The Internet was great.
The communication from Michelle was awesome, and she was really friendly. There was a musty smell throughout, dead (and living) flies & live cockroaches everywhere (lots of flyspray had to be used), floor was dirty, dust everywhere, no blinds in bathroom (anyone could see in), no blinds in the main bedroom (only sheer curtains so no privacy and very bright in the morning).
The house is super cute but REALLY needs a bit of TLC.
- Michelle (7/5): Lovely place, except for the mice and a little rundown - Location was great. Most furnishings were beautiful The pantry carpet. Mice- we did not use the pantry bc of the mice. See through blinds on main bedroom & bathroom where you undress. Unable to use hair-dryer in front of bathroom mirror. Unable to use main bedroom door to outside.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, spacious, well stocked and furnished. The garden was an added bonus. It was perfect for our needs. Access not always possible by the keypad, so it was useful to know where the spare key was
