• Claudia (1/5): The only positive parts of my stay were the exceptional service at Francesco’s Italian Restaurant by Orlando, the excell - The only positive experiences I had at the property were at Francesco’s Italian Restaurant and the spa, along with the assistance from management. At Francesco’s Italian Restaurant, Orlando truly made the experience exceptional from start to finish. The service was outstanding, and I really enjoyed my meal, especially the salmon and Mediterranean salad. What made the experience even more special is that Orlando brought out a birthday cake for me and my friend and sang to us in both English and Spanish. That level of hospitality made the evening memorable and was one of the only highlights of the entire stay. I also had a wonderful massage provided by Ericka at the spa. She was highly skilled, professional, and provided one of the best massage experiences I have had. I was very pleased with her service and attention to detail. In addition, I want to acknowledge the Guest Service Manager, Óscar, who made a genuine effort to address and resolve the multiple issues I experienced throughout my stay. While there were many problems during the trip, he consistently attempted to help and improve the situation in a professional manner. I would rate all three individuals, Orlando, Ericka, and Óscar, a 10 out of 10 for their service. They stood out as the only positive aspects of the experience and should be recognized for their professionalism and customer care, and ideally considered for some type of incentive or recognition for their excellent service. From May 14 through May 18, I stayed at GR Solaris Lighthouse Los Cabos All Inclusive, and this was honestly one of the worst resort experiences I have ever had. I booked this trip through Booking.com and paid full price, totaling $1,183.83. Upon arrival, I genuinely felt misled because the photos advertised online look nothing like the actual resort. The images on Booking.com present a four-star luxury experience, but in reality the property fell far below expectations in service, food quality, cleanliness, maintenance, and overall hospitality. This resort is located in San José del Cabo, approximately 30 to 40 minutes from Cabo San Lucas. If you plan to travel between the two areas, Uber rides were consistently around $40 to $50 each way during our stay. Taxi fares can be higher, but we only used Uber. Transportation costs add up quickly and should be planned for in advance. The issues started immediately at check-in. After receiving our bracelets, I went to concierge for help arranging airport transportation. The employee initially appeared friendly, but the moment I said I was not interested in a timeshare or Vacation Club presentation, his attitude changed completely. He even stated he expected guests to attend so he could get paid. After I declined, he became dismissive, disrespectful, and refused to assist with arranging airport transportation. That request was completely ignored. I then went to the front desk, where I was redirected back to concierge even though they already knew I had been refused assistance. Because of this, we ultimately had to arrange our own Uber for airport transportation. One clear issue throughout the stay was the difference in treatment between full-paying guests and timeshare promotional guests. Paying guests should never feel ignored or penalized for declining sales presentations. We were later upgraded to a different room, which they referred to as a “penthouse beach view.” The room number was 3592.

• Peterson (7/5): Very nice but maybe avoid the seafood - This is a recently renovated hotel and you can tell. Everything was clean and beautiful. The drinks were excellent and the food was pretty good. My favorite part, of course, was the staff. They were friendly and accommodating and had no problems helping us out. I had never been to Mexico before and so I needed help with arranging airport transportation and they did that for us at a far price. There were 2 restaurants that we booked reservations for. We made one for the Italian one on Monday and had great service. The food was great, but I had the seafood risotto and I had GI issues for about 2 and 1/2 days. It kinda ruined the all inclusive-ness of all the trip, because I was constantly running to the bathroom, had no appetite, and only wanted to drink water and sprite instead of the pinas coladas I had been craving for weeks.

El restaurante italiano fue nuestro favorito y nos encanto la sesion de fotos con Max en la piscina. Lo mejor de todo fue el increíble staff, siempre amable y atento. Queremos destacar a Mariana en recepción, Diana en el buffet, Jesus en el restaurante, Fernando en animación y Arturo que se encargo de nuestro equipaje, quienes hicieron nuestra experiencia aún más especial. Tambien queremos destacar que elegimos la excursión de snorkel y quedamos encantadas con la tripulación del barco, nos trataron genial y comimos super bien. Sin duda, recomendamos este hotel al 100% y volveríamos encantadas. La comida es un aspecto a mejorar. Nos hubiera gustado más variedad y más opciones para veganos/vegetarianos. Recomendaríamos que lavaran los vasos de plástico de las bebidas en el lavavajillas.

Flowers, grass, palm trees were beautiful. -Very quiet, relaxing atmosphere. -Pool activities and night shows. -Lounge area near the bar, very nice view. -Staff was kind, but one person servicing a long line of customers made us wait up to 15 minutes for our drinks... Please improve the bar part (including pool), especially during peak hours. -Salespeople trying to sell the membership, they are a little too pushy. We just wanted to relax not hear a salespitch on our honeymoon. -There was only one elevator and it looked like it needed urgent maintenance. We even got stuck for a few seconds one day.

• Brian (4/5): Overall disappointed in the experience, this is a hotel for members. Wish we would have known that going in. - Location was great. Walkable to town, on the beach. Wonderful sunrise! You had to get up before sunrise to reserve a spot at the pool or you would not get one. If you’re a member, you get access to other areas that aren’t so crowded. Lots of reserved areas & seating for members, tough if you’re not a member. Food was just ok. Breakfast was good, lunch buffet was ok, dinner buffet was not great and the one restaurant we tried the food was not worth it, and if you’re not a member you get a different menu. We’re foodies, and were pretty disappointed. We ended up going to dinners in town. Overall, the staff was not very welcoming. Our expectations of general hospitality at an all-inclusive resort were not met. It seemed the first response to any of our questions was “no”. For example, we asked if we can bring our plates to the pool, the answer was “no”, yet other people were bringing their plates to the pool. So I guess you’re just supposed to do what you want and not ask, which doesn’t feel great.

• Marisa (6/5): Lovely if you're looking for a beachside base, with chill vibes but plan to eat off-resort - The pools are beautiful, and loved all the flowers and plants around the grounds. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was great, lots of fresh fruit, crepes and delicious chilaquiles. Nice and chill, not a party resort but lots of fun. Aside from breakfast, the rest of the food throughout the resort was very mediocre. We stayed three nights and were only permitted one restaurant reservation, which was disappointing.

Outside of the specialty restaurants and the Friday night party, the food was very mediocre. It’s a pretty tired resort, and needs some freshening up. The air conditioner in our room was super loud. The towels are very old.

• Michael (6/5): Pleasant enough to make up for the deficiencies that we have noted. - The room was very spacious and well-lighted, as was the bathroom. Nice balcony. The large pool was magnificent. The grounds were well kept and well lighted. Located close enough to town to walk there. Worst coffee we've ever tasted. Coffee was available at breakfast but not at lunch or dinner, something we've never encountered before in comparable lodging. Buffet food and drink were, as advertised, unlimited--quantity over quality. The cuisine at the Mexican and Italian dining halls was undistinguished. A strange experience once afternoon: A group of obese, inebriated guests in the pool by the bar, demanded that the D.J. play only what they kept shouting as "white music," i.e. Country-Western, to which they swayed in the water and sung along. The building we were in had two elevators. One was out of order the whole week we were there. The other broke down for a day, requiring guests to use the dimly lighted stairwell. One guest on our floor was in a wheelchair. There were wear-and-teat issues and a paucity of toiletries. Our impression is that the resort has some nice attractions but is under-capitalized. • Vivian (5/5): I’ve stayed at this resort before and everything was fine. Feels like it’s gone downhill - they definitely need to impro - Property was clean and well Maintained. They also had a String duo called Mire Strings one night and they were amazing. We loved going up into the sky Bar after dinner. We also like the Mexican Restaurant. The food was terrible at the buffets and you couldn’t get a reservation online. Someone told me that they had to go to the front desk to get a reservation. We only got into the Mexican Restaurant. Also, some restaurants aren’t open everyday which also makes it hard to get a reservation because the hotel was packed. They also allow people to place towels on the pool lounges to reserve them. Every morning all the Lounges were taken and they wouldn’t show up till the afternoon.

• Sarah (5/5): Oh, Barcelo Gran Faro R.I.P. ! GR Lighthouse Solaris is a poor substitute. - The staff is almost uniformly cheerful, helpful, and friendly, especially the servers. Our maid, Carmen, was wonderful and quickly responded to our request for another blanket and more water. She is a gem. We loved seeing our dear friend, the pool/beach server, Luis, from years past. In the dining room Carlos and Martha were especially nice and attentive. Oh, Lord, where to start? We had stayed at this facility for many years when it was still a Barcelo hotel. We were hopeful that the new ownership/renovation by Solaris would be a nice refresh for a place we loved. It was quite the opposite. Basic things, like 4 out of 7 elevators not working (and not a repairman in sight for an entire week!) My brother-in-law had stayed here back in June and said it was the same then. The jacuzzi had only 1 feeble working jet and was lukewarm. Broken lounge chairs, a bathroom door that didn't latch, a broken refrigerator in my sister's room, burnt out light bulbs, tattered, crumbly yoga mats and broken equipment in the gym, slow WiFi, and crumbling infrastructure like peeling paint, holes in the roof, rusty pipes, etc. just added to the feeling that any renovation was limited to new furniture and cosmetic changes. In fairness, the place is very clean, the pools are lovely, and it is a decent location, especially for walking into town to take advantage of restaurants and stores there. Perhaps one of the worst thing is the lengthy, unnecessarily complicated check-in process, when one is already tired and need of a rest. The emphasis is definitely on "excursions" and signing up to hear about time shares (Solaris's main priority, don't think otherwise!)

GR Solaris Lighthouse did not refund our booking for Oct 20-29, as we had requested. Very unhappy with non refund, even though we had rebooked for Nov 27-Dec 4, 2025.
• Latesha (10/5): Great place, great location! - The staff here were sooo friendly! Everyone was very helpful. The resort is well maintained, very clean and overall it was a wonderful stay. We stayed 5 nights. Would absolutely stay again! Oh, and shoutout to Fernanda (Fer) she was amazing! We love you Fer!! An extra light in the common area of the rooms, and a little update as the rooms are becoming outdated.

• Rocio (10/5): Muy relajante para visitar. - Me encantó el servicio en recepción, en especial la señorita Mayerli de front. El detalle en mi habitación por mi cumpleaños, la cena en el Tavo delicioso ♥️. El servicio de meseros en la alberca un poco rudo, y el servicio de Guest Service entró a mi habitación cuando yo estaba ahí, me la topé cuando abrió la puerta.

• Marco (9/5): Great but it could have been better - The location, the beach is just there, beautiful. The room very spacious and clean Small things, like the jacuzzi was not working, we went to play a ping pong game and they didn’t have any balls, one of the pool table was unplayable. Small things, but for a 5 stars complex not good enough.

• Amy (8/5): It was wonderful! - The beach at the property is beautiful! The staff is really attentive and helpful. The food was also very good. The property has not kept up on small maintenance details. It is really in need of some TLC.
• Henry (8/5): Our stay exceeded expectations; we enjoyed it very much, especially the all-inclusive part! - Breakfast and the pools were fantastic. Entertainment was fun for what we chose to join, but did not strongly impact our opinion of the stay one way or another. The dancers' "Gatsby" show was really great. Sunrises were wonderful from our ocean-facing room. The cleaning staff was always on time and very thorough. The room amenities like included water bottles and other soft drinks was a nice touch. The all inclusive plan was well executed. The rooms feel a bit old, in particular the bathrooms. Our toilet made a loud sound at the end of the filling cycle. We want to emphasize this had nothing to do with the cleaning staff - they were great.
• Cristine (9/5): - The property has recently been starting renovations. I was fortunate that my room faced the ocean, was quiet, very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. The location and mature landscape will make this a stunning resort when renovations are complete.
• Gary (7/5): Great Staff / Nice Facility / Below Average Culinary - Property was clean and comfortable and in a great location- rooms were really nice size with a table and a nice deck with a decent view. Water pressure in the shower was OK and never a problem with hot water. Pools were clean and the adult hot tub was a but could’ve been a little bit warmer. $4 Uber ride to San Jose Del Cabo - staff were all wonderful / polite and did all they could to please. La Froshetta Restaurant a 6 min walk was an excellent off grounds dining experience! Drink quality unfortunately was very very poor - Pool Bar almost impossible to get a drink in under 10 min - bartenders don’t even attempt to make eye contact - tried 5 times to get a Salted Margarita - went 0 for 5 , they just don’t seem to care! Food was a 5 out of 10 - omelette station at breakfast was the best feature.

• Lucero Vargas (9/5): Buen lugar pero preferiblemente asistir en temporada baja - El personal fue muy amable, las instalaciones son buenas en relación calidad - precio, la comida es buena y cada día anexan variedades exceptuando el área de las piscinas donde son únicamente snacks y la variedad es la misma, el uso de servicios de comida a la habitación también es muy buena, las habitaciones no son tan modernas pero son cómodas por lo que puede hacer áreas de oportunidad para mejorar pero cumple para permitir descansar. La realidad es que vale la pena hacer la compra del todo incluído. Hay un aroma en el bar de la piscina que es fuerte aparentemente emitido de alcantarilla por lo que sería importante arreglarlo, la persona que atiende en Starbucks lo hace de mala gana y de forma grosera. La señal de internet es pésima es de las pocas cosas que definitivamente no me agradó. Y de igual modo, los restaurantes a reservación son buenos, en mi caso y el de mi acompañante fuimos al italiano y la comida vale la pena, sin embargo el servicios entre cada platillo es demasiado tardado (20-30 min) lo que le quita puntos a la experiencia.

We found quiet at the front of the hotel, but toddlers can’t swim in those pools and we have one. The noise from room to room travels a lot

Poor connection and very slow. The worse internet that I ever had experience. The buffet needs more options and not enough options to attract the people. The signature restaurant need to make appointment but the app doesn’t work.

• Donna (8/5): Excellent Christmas vacation. The staff were absolutely delightful. - The location, the staff, especially the staff, the food on the buffet was fresh and varied. Our rooms were not together until I paid for an upgrade. There were only two restaurants outside of the buffet to choose from, and we could only get in once as they were booked. The app to reserve did not work.

• Valerie (8/5): Very good overall! - It was clean, quiet, easy to get a pool chair. Food was good 👍 Didn’t like how the bartenders washed the cups at the pool bar, they should be sanitized better than that. Didn’t like that there was not ice available in any ice machines and at one point no ice available at the pool bar. We often went to the lobby bar for our drinks. Didn’t like the rotating lights earlier in the evening up at the rooftop bar, would be nice to enjoy a drink there and the views without those lights…. Save the lights for after dinner hours… party time.

• LILIANA (8/5): - El hotel tiene excelente ubicación, nuestra habitación estuvo perfecta, tiene las amenidades necesarias. Las albercas muy padres! Los alimentos excelentes. EL evento en la noche, en el sky bar, muy padre! Los meseros en los restaurantes, super amables! En el bar de la alberca, eran las 10 am y no había hielo.. y nadie sabía a que hora estaria disponible. El personal de esa área no era del todo amable. La cerveza, más bien malita. Solo servía un elevador.
• Jaime-lynn (10/5): Would - The room was incredible with an amazing view. There was a bottle of champagne in the room when we arrive which was lovely. The staff were absolutely incredible right from the lovely concierge, right to the restaurant and bar staff and all in between. The pools were lovely and clean. They had pools that were adult only for those of us looking for a break from children. The drinks were lovely and the servers were always there when we needed them. The resort was clean and well kept. The food was really nice. Great options for any breakfast you would like. The lunch buffet was lovely and also so many options. As well as the snack bar which they always kept topped up and fresh. The entertainers were great at bringing the pool aerobics together with high energy. We really enjoyed everything about this resort. Nothing. The whole place was wonderful. I would only recommend a bit more options and entertainment during the day (maybe some challenges and competitions) and the night shows to keep the night life a bit more active. Although we were there during a low season and there were not very many guests. So that was probably a factor.

• Scott (10/5): This place is well run and the staff are very friendly and very helpful. - The hotel is currently undergoing a number of minor renovations. Solaris bought it only1 year ago. These renovations will undoubtedly be ongoing for the next year but because they are not structural, they will not affect your stay in any way. The good thing is that (because of the renovations) it is currently an exceptional value for your money.

Lobby bar could be better used or organized. People talked about how confusing the setup was. Sports & shows for seating . Needs defined areas and more seating

Food quality was okay, not amazing. The beer and alcohol was poor quality and no better options were available for purchase (no bottles or cans). The draft taps were not well cleaned. The music was way too loud from the lobby bar late at night for no reason.

• Stig (5/5): dålig service, dålig frukost, dåligt med info om vad som gällde och vilka restauranger och barer som - Varnt och skönt, synd att det inte gick att bada i havet (dock inte hotellets fel) Poolerna är helt ok, dock lite ont om solstolar. många som "paxar" stolar Hissar var trasiga, ismaskinerna var trasiga, Lång väntetid för att få något från baren vid poolen, enligt appen så ingick baren nere vid beachen i al inclusive, men det var vi väldigt väl informerad av personalen, det var typ "försvinn denna gäller bara för vip och medlemmar", när jag frågade i receptionen så ljög han mig rakt i ansiktet att beach baren var inte den baren (trots att det stod det på skylten vid baren) utan det var en bar som sattes upp sporadiskt ibland.... Ovänlig personal (dock inte alla) men många var inte trevliga

• Elizabeth (7/5): - Location next to the beach and close enough to walk to the artisan center, about a 15 minute walk. Liked the all inclusive drinks. Elevator that didn't work. Reception when we arrived, trying to sell us on a membership tour before showing us to our room! Not all restaurants open on same days, and reservations were full as a result.
