• Amy (4/5): Disappointing experience - Initial friendly welcome, big space, clear entry instructions and fresh feeling bedding. Commotion in the night from 1-3am, man shouting and smoking in the hallway, no response to message sent to host at that time even though they were aware of what was going on. Still no response to message of concern, did not see host in the morning either. Asked to remove shoes but after walking around in socks they were dirty and caked in hair. Wouldn't stay again.

I don’t think that 1 shower and bathroom is adequate for the amount of rooms that are there and that the existing bathroom is not fit for purpose.

• Faye (7/5): Fantastic value and a wonderful host. - Debbie the host was lovely. Friendly and very helpful, made us feel right at home. Great value for money. Comfortable bed and everything was clean and tidy. Free clothes and book bins a great idea. The steps without a rail were a bit difficult.
• Elena (4/5): Freundlich aber leider recht schmuddelig - Freundliche Dame die die Zimmer vermietet, gut ausgestattete Küche Leider war es nicht besonders sauber, teils dreckig. Wir waren froh, nur eine Nacht gebucht zu haben und das passiert uns selten. Zudem gab es nur eine Toilette und eine Dusche für alle Parteien und es liegt sehr weit vom Zentrum entfernt.

• Mike (7/5): The name of the property sums up the stay - lovely host in an old Villa. - Close to the Cemetery Circuit, Debbie is a lovely welcoming host. Was one of the only places available during the Cemetery Circuit racing day. Access/checkin and communication with the host was excellent. Only minor complaints - Bedroom was very small (only just fitted the double and single bed), Noise from other occupants was carried into the room in the evening.

• Alexander (10/5): Amazing and so special! - The old villa has a very special charm. I felt right at home. The kitchen was so well-equipped, which was wonderful. The shower was fantastic, and the bed was so comfortable! But what really made me special was our host, Debby. She's such a wonderful person. We had some deep conversations, and she even got up extra early one Sunday morning to drive me to the bus stop. Thank you for everything, Debby. I'll never forget my stay with you.

• Jaime (8/5): Nice stay in Whanganui, with a very nice host - The host is very nice, and the room is clean and spacious. Unfortunately we were quite tired, so we went pretty much straight to bed. Nothing in particular.

I've stayed at quite a few homestays and I have never felt more comfortable and welcomed. As a solo female traveler, I also felt safe. Would definitely stay again. Nothing.

House exterior looks a bit run down but owner in process of renovating. Needed a separate hand basin for the toilet - couldn't wash our hands when someone else was using the bathroom.

• Heather (6/5): I'd like to think I'd be back in the future .....? - I felt safe parking my car on the property and knowing that it wouldn't be broken into at night!! The road around the property appeared nice and safe and trouble-free which is good and pleasing.....esp. since it was my first time booking and as such I booked 'unseen' by the Internet. Sorry I booked late and didn't say about my 'bed' requirements which I realised recently are 'Medium' and I think you said the one I had was 'Soft' so unfortunately I did have trouble sleeping - but we talked about it in the morning and I appreciated what you suggested for "next time?"
