Guest Reviews
- Lita (3/5): The locals partied U tol 4 with the loud music couldn't sleep. Not happy - The locals partied until 4 am we couldn't sleep so we left and drove home didn't sleep at all. The music was SO loud . It was very disrespectful. Not happy at all The loud music. No cups to have a coffee
And the bed had bed bugs
- Ralf (7/5): - Das historische Gebäude war sehr ansprechend, wenn auch in die Jahre gekommen. Schade war, dass sowohl die Zapfanlage im Restaurant defekt und Ananas "leider aus" war.

- Carlos (10/5): Very pleasant and comfortable - Historical authenticity

- Steve (3/5): Very disturbingly loud and definitely stick your day job singers! - The property is where I need to be. Good location. My room was backing on the rear yard where they had Karaoke on to about 11pm! Really, really loud but worst of all….they were all ridiculously terrible singers. All of them!
Also, there was no body wash in the showers and there was no milk to have a cuppa or some breakfast with the next morning.
- David (8/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed the atmosphere -
- Marie (4/5): We found the accommodation expensive for what it was. - Evening meal was good wholesome pub grub. There were only two toilets and two showers for 16 rooms. No hand basins in the toilets. Breakfast choices were very limited cereals only and no fruit or yoghurt and there was no bread for toast. Instant coffee powder only slightly resembled coffee!
No fruit juices and the drinking water dispenser was empty.
- Temple (4/5): reasonable accommodation but for the price the amenities were not worth it. - We had a main meal at the Hotel which was more than adequate. large serving and very good selection. The beer was cold and the locals were friendly (although a little loud in the early morning) The communication for booking and general enquiries was virtually non existent and became very annoying even though everything turned out okay. it was a bit of a trial to get some things organised (we travelled in a group of 19)
- Harriet (1/5): Don't expect a good night's sleep! - Pingelly is a nice little town with lovely old buildings. The Exchange Hotel was once a very grand building and remnants of its former glory persist. The bar downstairs was filled with incredibly noisy people. It was a Saturday evening, so some noise was expected, but this was not 'normal' levels of noise - there were people yelling well past 1am, after which time they moved outside and continued screaming ang yelling up and down the street. It's great that the owners have attempted to renovate this old pub, but if offering accommodation to tourists, there should be some consideration given to guests who are trying to sleep.
The bed was very comfortable, but broken and boarded up windows, stained carpets, and the lack of a 'Reception' gave a poor impression.
- Magdalene (1/5): - nothing bedsheets had stains carpets were dirty l didn't feel safe someone broke into my car at night even though l had valuable in the car nothing was stolen however the person malicious damage my car by cutting the upholstery in the car

- Steve (7/5): Was ok. - The property was close to where I needed to be the next morning. The place was quiet and the staff were helpful. There was minimal breakfast variety. There was no bread for toast, and cereals and milk were low.
- Stuart (7/5): -
- Diane (7/5): Comfortable bed on old-world country pub. Friendly staff. - Old world charm of the pub. It needs a bit of work.
- Widmer (10/5): An historic pub in a fascinating part of Australia. Don't forget that this a country pub for locals - This is a 125-year-old country pub from a time when travelers took steam trains! The fascinating location and the effort to maintain this historic building is admirable. I will certainly stay here again when I am travelling in this amazing part of Australia. It is worth noting that travelers have been passing these ways for 1,000s of years!
- Garry (1/5): - Don't stay here. Rooms basic with squeaky floor. Shared bathroom had no clean linen. Kitchen full of dirty dishes and hardly anything available for supposed complimentary breakfast.
- Leonie (10/5): Great stay at the Exchange hotel - Great, friendly pub and they really look after you.
- Hendry (5/5): -
- LINDA (6/5): For a budget hotel it was ok, it was warm and dry which was what we were looking for at the time. - The room was clean. There was a large guest lounge room, a kitchen and a dining room. Which we had not expected. There were also some cereals and bread available for toasting, which was unexpected. But the lack of milk made the cereals redundant. The bed was very soft, which was a bit disappointing. It was shared bathrooms, which we knew about but one of the bathrooms was muddy and looked like it had not been cleaned for the entire weekend. We were asked to use bath mats in the show, but there were none left in the basket. We could not turn the air conditioner off.

- Andrea (10/5): -
- Kateřina (6/5): Pleasant - Nice old rustical building
Complimentary breakfast Rooms and facilities needs good clean, we found rubbish under our bed. But overall this place has a spirit
- Alek (7/5): Good -
- Maui (8/5): Friendly, helpful, food was excellent, relaxing and most of all affordable. - The Staff member at the bar was very friendly and helpful.
Our room was in a good location, near the kitchen, lounge and bathroom.
Good view of the garden bar
Sitting outside on the balcony was lovely
We liked the old style look of the place
The locals were very friendly
The location was excellent. Close to the main center.
Park across the road was lovely to walk around and do some exercise.
Caravan park at the back was good. Meet a few lovely people from there. The floors in our room were very very noisy
We chose a room with 2 single beds and mine was very hard and uncomfortable but my partners was ok.
Apart from the squeaky floor our room was good.
With renovations going on it didn't affect our stay at the property.
- Marisa (8/5): Very good -
- Manjunatha (7/5): Good - Check-in process was a breeze, having a place to drink below is nice :). Breakfast was ok, some toasts and cereals but bed was comfortable. There are only 2 shared bathrooms for 10+ rooms on the floor, luckily there was no other rooms occupied during our stay.
- Thomas (4/5): A little below standard for the price. - Smart tvs and aircon, good meals from the pub downstairs. Shared bathrooms. Tired building, sheets not particularly clean.
- Patrick (5/5): Passable -
- Percy (5/5): Passable - The rooms were tidy but the dust did cause a problem for my wife and 3 yr old daughter We strongly feel the bar staff rigged the raffle at the pub and we felt very segregated while we ate there and when we spend over $500 all up for our 1 night stay and dinner. There was no bread for the breakfast which was meant to be provided.
The matteress's were not comfortable
- Michael (8/5): Classic country hotel withj great staff - Breakfast was free. Simple, and serve yourself, but more than okay. Also, some of the larger common areas upstairs gave you another place to sit and read etc.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maggie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the friendly staff, and the lovely old building. Lovely comfortable beds, meal was great value for money. Just a real homely feeling about this place. Not enough plug outlets in room ( 16 yr old daughter 's opinion)
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - We felt so at home, all the staff were welcoming and happy to make sure we were happy…the food was great…a lovely old pub that is not perfect in some ways but perfect in what counts…happy staff and therefore happy clients..they just went out of their way to make sure we knew what we needed to know and make sure we had everything we needed.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Frank (1/5): Bad - The rooms were not as advertised to us when booking (eg 12 bedrooms sharing 2 bathrooms). The owner moved us to another motel that she owned, and insisted that we pay in full for the new rooms (at higher cost) at that motel, on the understanding that she would refund the booking.com payment. She then refused to provide the refund, even after follow-up by booking.com staff.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Carisma1234 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Arthur (8/5): Very good -
- Dean (8/5): friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. great food - Basic Breakfast supplied, rooms were clean. Friendly staff. Food was great had lunch and Dinner at the Bar and enjoyed both. Good spot to watch the footy Grand Final. Accommodating with the storage of our bikes (rode mountain bike to get there)
