Guest Reviews
- Paul (1/5): Potential Scammer, held My deposit for 4 days! - When I eventually got my deposit back 4 days late! Shocking, this is only after I threatened to take action. Do not book. The host! He doesn't care and will ignore your texts. Please don't book here! I would recommend anywhere else, he is a potential scammer
- Maria (1/5): Avoid - Be aware this is a very stag do/group out kind of accommodation. The real location is a back alley, where you park at your own peril, with double yellow lines in which you risk getting a parking ticket, your car windows smashed and possibly being mugged any time. Next to this place are the gates to the buildings, you gain pedestrian only access to the gates that lead you to the apartment. The set up is through a dodgy back alley, in which there is a bit of everything going on, day and night. The apartment itself is quite knackered, has a piece of kitchen skirting board missing, for example, you can see in the photos more or less - but the main issue is the lack of cleanliness. Every surface has a layer of dust, showing that it hasnt been properly cleaned in ages. The smell is musty, unventilated, and when we got there, after the shock of the back alley scares, we were not sure if the cleaners had been, or we had come in while the previous guests stuff was still on. The bedding was old, full of baubles and very creased. To this day i am not sure if It was clean, even after giving It a good smell. The towels felt clean, but again very creased and just thrown in the bathroom, very messy, so not sure either (luckily we had our own stuff which is what we used). The lack of hygene in the place was strong. I had a look around, and found another nasty surprise: the laundry basket with the previous dirty laundry still in the same wardrobe where i am supposed to put my clothes. We found dishes drying on the counter from the previous people and the mugs in the cupboard were wet and dirty with tea stains. There was a tea towel which I didnt dare to touch. I felt i was occupying someone elses house, quite disgusting all in all.
Regarding the host, the communication started very well, replying to all the messages and being very helpful. I asked for an extended stay (hindsight is a terrible thing) which was sorted just a day before i got to Newcastle.
- John (8/5): Very good - Great location
- Martin (1/5): Total ripoff. Do not book - Nothing at all The fact that they changed my original booked date to stay without me asking for this. The fact they never responded to any contact at all
- Lena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chelsea (5/5): Awesome hosts, great place to stay if you are going to be out every evening. - The location was fantastic, Newcastle's greatest Indian restaurant is just below. The building itself is incredibly noisy. The radiator rattled against the wall whenever the entrance door to the main building was shut. The type of people who visit this block tend to be going out until 3/4am so if you are a family who go to bed at a reasonable hour, it is impossible to sleep.
The flat itself looks like it was beautiful once upon a time, but now has holes in the bathroom door, broken worktops and lights, and there are 2 large sofas but they do not have beds inside of them. We were required to pay a deposit for any damage which was surprising due to the damage that already existed inside the flat.
The television is difficult to use as you need to connect it to the internet each time you turn it on.
If you have any difficulties managing stairs, be aware you have to climb two flights to reach the entrance to the building as it is above a restaurant.
- Susanne (7/5): Good - Very good location. The flat itself was quite nice, lots of space to relax, good kitchen facilities. Fairly quiet at night, despite central location. Communication with the owner was a bit difficult, although the problem we had was sorted in the end.
- Carey (6/5): Perfect for parties but not for a quiet night’s sleep. - Perfect central location. Magnificent Indian restaurant around the corner. Walking distance to the arena. Loud all night party in the apartment next door. Strong smell of cannabis in the hallway with random visitors to the party coming and going at all hours through the night banging the doors loudly. Apartment dirty. Blood on the bathroom door. Broken furniture and broken fixtures throughout the apartment. Hole punched in the bathroom door. Exposed electrical wires. Apartment car park for full of long term abandoned smashed cars and broken glass. £13 for 24 hours in nearest car park.
- Daiva (1/5): Bad - I don't get location without deposit
Someone sent me Revolut account from WhatsApp and asked 150£ deposit
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good - Location was fantastic, within easy walking distance of st James park, metro station and very busy town centre, yet nice and quiet from any busy noise, nice and clean. Parking, had to park in an underground car park which cost around £20 for 24hrs as there was no where else to park.
- Lee (1/5): Bad -
- Guy (7/5): Good - We stayed with two kids and stayed for two nights, Friday and Saturday. The apartment had everything we needed, was good central location and close to Sports Central we needed to attend. We were disappointed with the noise from people banging the entrance door and loudly coming back after partying during the night which disrupted our sleep a lot.
- Jenni (6/5): Pleasant - Spacious and good city centre location Wasn’t the cleanest. We also had issues getting in as they sent us two different codes. Luckily the people staying in the apartment next door had the correct one
- Rebecca (5/5): Needs some work to improve facilities. - The location was fantastic for what we needed. Not sure who cleans the property but would definitely get a new cleaner. Dirty utensils in the drawers cups looked like they hadn’t been washed properly. Table in sitting room was grimy so was cooker hob. Shower was still dirty pink grime on shower mat and toilet seat had two massive screws coming through the top very dangerous if you ask me. Sofa bed in sitting room broken wouldn’t pull out. So I spent the weekend on a sofa.
- Lisa (8/5): Nice spacious apartment with all convenient appliances. Clean and tidy, and good location for the city. - Convenient for the city centre
- Richardson (1/5): Don’t stay - Location Filthy and smell was awful
TV not working
Sofas have bad stains you would not want to sit on. Kitchen units broken and unsafe- headboard on bed was filthy - insufficient heating. Bathroom not properly cleaned- wardrobes all broken - totally unacceptable
- Michelle (1/5): I couldn’t stay there it was that bad I left - I didn’t stay it was that bad I tried to contact host and got ignored it was dirty and the to didn’t work the sofas was falling apart the bed had stains all over the in matching beeding Everything
- Graeme (10/5): Loved it, we will be back. - Great location, we were there in 10 minutes from the train station on foot it's in the city centre and a supermarket was 2 minutes away.
Loved the retro arcade machine.
There was everything you'd need if you wanted to eat in, oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. We had no problems at all.
- Matt (8/5): Very good - Perfect location very central to town. Brilliant that it allowed dogs, it was nice and clean. We managed to get the free parking outside which was brilliant too. The flat itself could use a bit of updating, but we weren't too bothered about that as it was dog friendly and in a brilliant location.
- Katarzyna (10/5): Exceptional - Good communication with host. Nice and clean place to stay :) highly recommend;)
- Ian (4/5): Disappointing - Sofa bed was not useable due to cleanliness and falling apart. The apartment upstairs were banging and crashing around between 12-7am. No plates available to eat off.
- Devashish (7/5): Good -
- Ritika (10/5): Charming, cozy, and spacious apartment perfect for a visit to Newcastle. - Great apartment, the host had sent clear and concise instructions about how to reach and enter the apartment which was very helpful. It is at the perfect location, with shops and restaurants close by, and an incredibly comfortable and charming flat for a great price and at a great location.
A fair warning to future guests, the heater in the room was turned off all day and the room still felt warm, despite the January chill. Might be smart to turn the heater on for only a few minutes.
- Jennifer (9/5): Very attentive host - Location
- Catherine (2/5): Mouldy bathroom, broken bed but handy location - City centre location was very handy as a base for exploring the city The bathroom was mouldy and the towel radiator was leaking water onto the shower mat.
There were holes in the bathroom door that looked like someone had punched it through or fallen hard into it.
The pull out sofa-bed was broken and stained and couldn't be used for sleeping.
- Natalie (10/5): Fantastic.ill be telling my friends and family - The location was excellent.the apartment was really lovely bright and clean .id definitely be booking in a week or so to go end january.the whole stay was fantastic.concidering we stayed new year eve for two days it wasn't loud at all Salt on steps in winter for ice
- Lorraine (8/5): This flat had everything you need but needs a better clean. Bathroom shower has bad mould and even just tha slip mat was - perfect location.
plenty storage space..
everything there that was needed. This was my second visit and still can't get TV on as no internet connection but not even any basic channels.
- Josephine (3/5): The only good thing about it is that it was central. - Very central We booked the apartment for 4 adults but the sofa couldnt open in a sofabed. We tried to contact the host but no one answered.
- Michael (4/5): Dirty, and no parking. No milk or sugar supplied for tea making. - Great location, reasonable price. Nice Indian Street Food restaurant right next door. I wanted a car parking space, but parking is on some adjacent almost wasteland which is a free for all. Some have a second banger car to reserve their parking spot!
Lots of stairs up and down. Ended up getting my car trapped in by someone else, but after a 45 min wait managed to catch someone else leaving so could get the car out. Parked in a local carpark a short walk away which wasn’t cheap but at least somewhat safer.
Shower dirty, especially bad was the shower head.
- Anthony (7/5): Cheap and cheerful. Great location. - Great location. Easy to access.
- Caroline (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (4/5): Disappointing - Right in the center of the city. It was dirty, and very worn, the only saving grace were the location and the cheap price
- Jessica (6/5): Pleasant -
- Caleb (9/5): Great apartment just a shame about parking - Great location, great price, comfy Trying to find the location was a bit confusing and parking was a nightmare
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Great Apartment - great location, helpful staff. needs a bit of work done, holes in doors etc.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (7/5): Good -
- M (9/5): Amazing stay - The location N/a
- Lee (8/5): Town Flat - Great little flat right in the middle of town, everything you need - washing machine, fridge, oven, hob and very comfortable too Slightly grubby and has clearly had loads of visitors, some of whom haven't been too careful sadly
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - Great little apartment in city centre. We only needed for 1 night but could see was fully kitted out self catering apartment. Bed very comfy. Unable to park in nearby parking which would be free but never free spaces. Had to pay for nearby parking £17.50.
- Jingyun (2/5): Nightmare! - Location It really old and dirty, you can’t find anyone to help you about your booking immediately, no car park space guarantee. Etc..
- Ethan (10/5): Cheap and right in the middle of town - Exactly what you need, wicked apartment for the money and a nice stay for me and my girlfriend
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
