Bryon (8/5): A great get away. Awesome restaurant and overall good experience. I would not want to spend a week here though. - Fun design and a very comfortable bed Price was a little high for level of finishes, for example a ceramic tile bathroom.

Brady (10/5): Stylish & Fun Hotel in a Very Convenient Location - Location was extremely central and convenient for what we needed. Property is very attractive and not the typical, mundane sort of hotel. Fun lounge for a nightcap after we returned from dinner. Room was stylish and fun. Absolutely fantastic mattress and pillows! Thermostat functionality was annoying but HVAC worked very well once we figured it out.

Zoe (8/5): Loved it and will be back! - Love the location, I’ve stayed a few times and really enjoy the neighborhood. Amazing hotel with great decor and attention to detail. Only thing I’ll point out is try to avoid the rooms on the ground floor with exterior entrances. The weather proofing on the doors just isn’t up to par and could definitely use some work on that.
Julie (9/5): All in all a wonderful stay but slippers would've made me rate this place a 10. - The bed was amazing and I loved the design of the bathroom. The property grounds was very nice and welcoming; I loved all the landscaping. The restaurant was delicious. The minibar selections were great as well. The dimmers were a thoughtful touch, but they didn't have dimmable lightbulbs in the socket so the lights were either on or off. There weren't any slippers provided and the bathroom floors are marble so it's a bit chilly on the feet when getting out of the shower.

Mario (9/5): A true urban oasis - Design and decor, by far. Location too. Montrose needs good hotels. Landscaping is amazing. Our room had only a small table and chair to sit on. No counter space in the main area and a small counter in the bathroom.

Mark (5/5): Luxury hotel that can't provide basic comforts - The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is friendly. The restaurant and bar's food and decor are both elevated and well worth a visit. The St. Augustine - a luxury hotel at luxury hotel prices failed to provide me with the most basic hotel services. They didn't clean my room, even though I placed the door tag out in the morning. They did not fix the cold shower that I asked about twice and I couldn't shower for a meeting. Finally they did not deliver my breakfast room service on one of my two days. A real bummer. Finally, they do not provide in-room basic coffee and tea and fresh water.

Carole (8/5): Hôtel agréable - La décoration, l'architecture de l'hôtel et les chambres avec terrasse ou balcon sont agréables. Le quartier est calme et le personnel sympa. Il manque une machine à café dans les chambres et le ménage peut être amélioré.
martina (10/5): Wonderful stay!! - This place is just worth it for its architecture!! And Everything else is perfect: the food is top quality, the service, the staff is very kind. Rooms are very comfortable, with everything you need. The bed was awesome, with nice linen and 3 cushion each. The bathroom soap and shampoo was also top quality! Location is perfect for visit the Menil Collection, and the neighborhood seems nice and safe. They have a ballroom and host events sometimes, but the music stopped really early in the evening and we could sleep very good.

Bailey (10/5): Such a neat hotel - This hotel was very non-traditional, but in the best way. It has an indistrial aesthetic with lots of dark wood and metal elements; however, it also feels very tranquil with all of the different greenery between the buildings. Would definitely recommend this place to others looking for something cool and different!
Jason (10/5): - Firstly, the staff was fantastic! Starting with the valet Jessie, the front desk staff, Sarah the bartender and Andrew the maitre d, all were extremely friendly and enthusiastic! The property was beautiful and comfortable and would highly recommend to anyone. Can’t wait to go back!

Dave (10/5): A wonderful unique boutique-feeling hotel - Everything about this hotel is superb - starting with a shoutout to the entire staff for treating us as friends and dealing with everything with a smile. Eric and Jamar were standout friendly faces. The rooms are very comfortable, the vibe is chill, the bar is great. Street parking is easy and the location is great for taking strolls through the Menil Collection and around the neighborhood.

About as safe as you get in Houston Could do with a guest laundry for long term guests. Small complaint

Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful, but noisy - The hotel is beautiful, impeccably clean, and the beds exceptionally comfortable. Houston is a very disjointed city, and not very pedestrian friendly, so I honestly couldn't say much about the location itself, but it felt safe to me. My only complaints would be 1) the noise in the evenings - if you have a room that opens up to the central courtyard, the noise will flood your room, and it's almost like the folks lounging there are planted right outside your door, and 2) the fact that housekeeping came knocking on the door repeatedly at 0910 on the day of check-out, which made me feel like I had to rush out of the room.
Stephen (6/5): - This hotel has great potential--comfortable room, responsive staff, exceptional restaurant--but had some flaws unacceptable at this price point. The phone didn't work, there were no instructions for a complex thermostat, the "hot" water in the shower was lukewarm, and there was no shelf in the shower for shampoo/soap so the bottles were just left on the floor. Also a design problem--the rooms are only accessible from the lobby via a large open courtyard which was really inconvenient in the rain.
