• Catrin (10/5): Fantastic stay - Very friendly, lovely room, clean and comfortable bed and bedding. Shower was fab too with plenty of shower gel, shampoo etc and coffee and tea. Fab touches with sweets and cookies in room. Complimentry continental breakfast in the morning. Not far from the beach. I ran the Porthcawl Park run which was only round the corner. Will definitely be back. No parking but we found somewhere on the street outside the guesthouse which wasnt a problem.

The room had an ample supply of beverages (something not so common these days), so that was nice too. There was even a supply of toffees and sweets. We've stayed in many places in Porthcawl. This was the best.

• Hilary (10/5): - The hostess, Ellie-May, was very friendly and welcoming. Butterfly Guest House is spotlessly clean! Has a very home from home feel. The room we had was very spacious and it even had a fridge. Beds were very comfy. Property is very close to the sea front. Not applicable!

Loved the little touches like the 24/7 help yourself breakfast, and little treats in the room, bed was super comfy, location was great! You could hear guests very clearly in next rooms and throughout the house, take ear plugs if your a light sleeper, also the plumbing made noise too.

• FIONA (10/5): An enjoyable stay with attention to detail, an excellent host, would recommend highly. - Even though Ellie had received excellent reviews, so the bar was set high, she didn't disappoint at all. Ellie upgraded our room. which was a real bonus, and the room itself was very well set out and beautifully decorated. As had been reviewed the breakfast was good. with a real coffee machine, and I appreciated being left to have breakfast in peace. We could also have taken it up to our room. The breakfast room was well laid out and everything was very clear. Communication with Ellie was excellent. Although the room was well organised and well set out despite the restrictions of the space available, with useful hooks etc. I felt that the bathroom could have benefitted from a shelf to put my lotions and potions on. That's all!

• Andrew (10/5): Very comfortable guest house in a perfect location in Porthcawl. - We had an extremely comfortable stay at the Butterfly Guest House. It was beautifully clean and tidy, the room had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Communication with the owner was spot on and it was a couple of minutes' walk to all of the amenities in Porthcawl. For what we paid for the room we really couldn't have asked for more. If we visit again we will definitely stay here again. Nothing to add here. The place was excellent!

Location is perfect. Very close to the town, bars restaurants and the beach. The host Ellie was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommend. Thankyou Ellie for a lovely stay. There wasn't anything not to like.

• Peter (10/5): Wonderful stay at the Butterfly House. - The Butterfly house was lovely & Ellie May made our stay very enjoyable nothing was too much trouble. The location was excellent and the room and facilities were excellent. Everything was perfect. Just a small thing the traffic in the morning probably would have been a nuisance but as we were keen to get up and moving it wasn't a factor for us.

I was kindly upgraded to a larger room (free) which was helpful as I had all my golf clubs with me.

Nothing was too much trouble, the hosts were very friendly and informative. The only little negative was about the parking. Depending on what time you arrived there was very little parking space outside the B&B, however there is a Pay & Display opposite.
