Guest Reviews
- colin woolven (10/5): Ideal indeed!! - Lovely quiet location, convenient for the pub our wedding event was at, just a 20 min walk. Amanda is a very welcoming host, and the place is tastefully decoated, very homely, ..tea, coffee milk and tasty shortbreads also supplied!!! Only small issue is that there was no full length mirror but a smaller one was available in dressing room
- Myfanwy (10/5): A totally relaxing stay. - Very well appointed in peaceful spot with a charming host.
- Dean (10/5): Wonderful place with a wonderful host. - What a lovely place to stay. Stopped here on the second night of a three day South Downs Way cycle ride and we were not disappointed.
Spotlessly clean with everything you need for a short break included.
Unfortunately weather wasn't overly nice, so didn't get to enjoy the outside seating area in the lovely peaceful surroundings.
As for the host Amanda, she couldn't do enough for us. A genuinely lovely, kindhearted lady.
Thanks a million Amanda, if we're ever down your way again we will definitely stay for a second stint.
Dean and Alistair.
- Stella (9/5): Lovely stopover on our way north - Very clean, very quiet, very idyllic appartment – lovely furnished with an eye for detail. The garden is beautiful, with very convenient parking directly in front of the loft. NOT a criticism, simply a heads-up for lower cars: the driveway is a rather bumpy track and our body scraped the gravel a few times before we got the hang of it.
- Smith (10/5): - Lovely location, just off the South Downs Way! There were so many thoughtful touches which made the stay so enjoyable- plenty of tea, coffee, milk and everything you'd want there if you were cooking. And shortbread biscuits! The beds were very comfortable and excellent shower etc. Theres a table outside to sit at which was perfect for our visit as it was beautiful weather. The pub down the road is excellent as well - its great not having to get back in the car. So would thoroughly recommend this place! Nothing
- David (9/5): - We loved staying at this property. All the little details were superb. The nicest rental we have stayed in. The drive into the property was not good.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Mathew (10/5): -

The heating was on, so nice and warm upon arrival. There was nothing we didn’t like, for us it was quite perfect.

- Melissa (10/5): - The apartment was lovely. It was very well equipped and had everything we needed.
The wifi didn’t work upon arrival but Amanda and her son were amazing and put in a new router.
Amanda made us a reservation of the Jolly Sportsman where the food was amazing.
Overall we had a lovely stay. The apartment was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom amenities were perfect. The location is quite rural and the roads leading down aren’t the best. This didn’t bother us too much but just to bear in mind.
- Caroline (10/5): Beautiful tranquil stay defo stay again - Just beautiful,,, clean and had everything u needed x
- Martin (10/5): - This is a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, meticulously presented with additional items provided such as milk and biscuits. The lounge area and the bed was comfortable. Amanda was quick to respond to my messages and greeted us by offering support if we need it.
A place i will return to withput a second thought. Thank you amanda. This really is a wonderful place, service and location. Worth every penny.
- G (9/5): Fantastic property in the heart of rural Sussex. - This is a beautiful appointed property in the heart of rural Sussex. No noise, no light pollution.
The apartment is impeccable, clean, has loads of facilities and most important is comfortable and homely.
Amanda is a wonderful host and we will certainly return when we can.
- Katherine (10/5): Cosy home away from home - Our second time visiting for a trip to Glyndebourne and as before - beautifully presented, super clean and Amanda was a lovely host.
We hope to come back next year and keep this as our little spot for when we visit. Thank you Amanda!
- Hayley (10/5): The location here is perfect for a stroll down the lane past the church to The Jolly Sportsman for an exceptional dinner - The property is located in beautiful grounds. Both mornings we sat under the 200year old English Plain and had our breakfast (will attach a photo) Our accommodation was without doubt 5 star plus. Every detail has been considered, from the coffee machine to cottonwool pads. The bed and linen was as good good as you’d find in a top class hotel. Really couldn’t fault anything.
- ANGELA (10/5): - All clean and new Track needed maintenance
- George (10/5): Relaxing stay - All boxes were ticked and Amanda was a pleasure to deal with. Excellent all round. It was all very nice

Amanda was a lovelly host who answered my few questions extremely promptly. Thank you 😊 N/A
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Dan (9/5): Highly enjoyable accommodation. - The cleanliness, high standard of facilities and decoration, the secluded rural location with beautiful grounds. The sloping roofs inherent to a loft were not easy to negotiate for a relatively tall person (I am 6’2”).
- Naomi (10/5): - Lovely, well furnished and equipped venue
- Anthony (10/5): Highly recommended for a quiet break in a stunning location. - Beautiful quiet location just below the Downs. Stylishly appointed. Great base for exploring the delights of Sussex. Being tall, the sloping ceilings looked good but were a problem at times.
- Geoff (10/5): Beautiful location, lovely accommodation for 1 or 2 , immaculately presented and nicely equipped - Beautifully clean and nicely equipped.
Super comfortable bed.
As per the description, a really idyllic location. Nothing - all good
- John (10/5): The perfect break - Beautiful peaceful location. Spotlessly clean, so well equipped and the little extra touches like towelling robes made it even more special. Falling asleep to the sound of owls in the trees and waking to birdsong was so perfect. Nothing!
- Adam (10/5): Amanda and her friendly dogs have us the warmest welcome! - Charming well appointed and incredibly well detailed with generous facilities, good coffee biscuits. The space was very well designed and in great condition. The kitchen and bathroom were spotless on our arrival. It felt calm and peaceful. Nothing was negative
- James (10/5): Perfect quiet getaway - A beautiful quiet location, ideal for a getaway from a busy life. Amanda was extremely welcoming and quick to respond to any questions that we had.
On the doorstep of the property were some great walks and an even better local pub. We highly recommend the accommodation. Nothing.
- Johanna (10/5): - Everything was just lovely, perfect stop before getting the ferry to France. Really liked the dairy free milk option in the fridge, we had breakfast outside under the most wonderful tree. If we are ever in the area again we will be back! The gardens are beautiful. There wasn't anything we didn't like!
- Dave (10/5): Extremely luxurious rural retreat. - The property is gorgeous! Small and quirky but beautifully designed. Extremely well equipped and very generous extras. Everything has been designed with care. Had a really luxurious feel. Nothing apart from repeatedly hitting my head on the sloping ceiling,( my fault).
- Debbie (10/5): Fabulous property! Would recommend and return! - We had a wonderful two night stay here. The loft is beautifully and tastefully furnished and well equipped, with good quality products and lovely fresh bed linen and towels. Everything was spotlessly clean. The photos give an accurate representation but it’s actually even nicer in reality. Amanda was a great host and we will definitely return if visiting the area again in future. Not a dislike, but just an observation that tall people may struggle with the low slanted ceilings
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful. We had a lovely stay and one of the best nights sleep in along while. Everywhere was lovely and clean, fresh and stylish. Also we couldn’t have wished for a better host. Amanda was so welcoming and helpful, from start to finish, in our stay. We will definitely return 😊
- Hazel (10/5): Calm, unflustered, a complete break. - A fantastic place to chill - completely off the beaten track. So quiet and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The large selection of teas and real coffee maker were most welcome. So thoughtful to add oat milk too, in the fridge, with semi-skimmed. The remoteness meant a long drive to get to Lewes, but once we'd done it a few times it became familiar.
- Meg (10/5): Lovely stay! - Beautiful location, super clean apartment with all the amenities! Amanda & Graham were so kind and gave us a lift to a wedding venue nearby. 10/10!
- Matthew (10/5): It was amazing.the host was very friendly and helpful the property was exceptionally good value and I would not hesitat - Everything it was perfect for what wanted. I liked everything about the property
- Vanessa (10/5): English countryside charm. - Perfectly suits the idyllic title. Welcoming hosts and charming area. Nil

- John (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Amanda was so lovely and the stay was beyond expectations - It was luxury, private and had everything you need for an amazing stay. There is nothing to dislike if you book this property you will not be disappointed
- Penelope (10/5): idyllic. - The property was ideal for us. Amanda came to meet and welcome us and checked we had all we needed. She had left us milk, coffee, tea and biscuits. She provided maps and interesting books to read. Wi-fi connection was excellent. The property was very clean. The shower had good water pressure and there was plenty of hot water and lots of towels. The windows were Velux into the roof and out of these we could see greenery which was very pleasant. The settling was Arcadian. We ate breakfast in the garden sitting under an ancient plane tree. I would advise arriving before dark as the property is down a dark, bumpy lane.
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teartse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Nice and quiet.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Lucy (10/5): Fantastic short stay! - The property was beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Perfect for what we wanted. Host was friendly and helpful.
- Paige (10/5): Clean, good facilities and good location if you drive - Everything was immaculate, clean and spacious.
The decoration and style perfectly matched the location, nice and quiet and not too far from main roads and other locations. Lovely gesture providing a small milk and alternative milk on arrival, a selection of teas and coffee, biscuits. The bed was very comfortable with luxurious bedding.
Hosts were lovely and friendly. Would recommend to anybody staying or visiting this area. N/A
- Eleanor (10/5): An amazing stay! - We had a lovely stay, there were so many lovely extras that Amanda had thought of such as milk in the fridge for our arrival. There was even a coffee machine with an array of teabags on offer too. It was so clean and the decor is beautiful. Amanda was very understanding when we were stuck in traffic and set the place up ready for us such as leaving the lights on and setting up the pull out bed. Also very responsive to messages. I left my charger and Amanda messaged straight away to let me know. Thank you so much!

Perfect quiet and rural location but still close to towns and the surrounding area.
Spotlessly clean and laid out, the annexe is a great place if you want somewhere to relax and chill.
We stayed here as part of a visit to Glyndebourne and it was easy to reach from here.
The gardens and house itself are incredibly beautiful and we also loved the fact we could walk to the local pub - The Jolly Sportsman. Great food and service too!
