Guest Reviews
Wasserloch! Wow!
Viele Gnus, Zebras, Springböcke…
Nashörner sind auf dem Gelände! !!!!
Haben sechs verschiedene Nashörner, vier große/ Erwachsene und zwei Jungtiere an drei Tagen gesehen!!! - Preislich schon in der obersten namibischen Liga - 50.400 N$ - was knapp 900€/ Nacht entspricht
- Steph (10/5): It was amazing - Every thing
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Monika (9/5): Tolle Lage - Sehr nettes Personal.
- Sara (10/5): A wonderful stay surrounded by nature, perfect for relaxing and experiencing the true spirit of Etosha. - The location is absolutely amazing, right next to Etosha National Park. The lodge is beautifully set in nature, very peaceful, with stunning views and a true safari atmosphere. Everything is exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The chalets are spotless, and housekeeping takes care of them twice a day. The staff go above and beyond to make sure guests are happy, always attentive and helpful. The food was delicious, and the overall standard of comfort is extremely high – truly a dream place to stay. Honestly, there was nothing significant we didn’t like. Everything met our expectations and the stay was very comfortable. If anything, we would have loved to stay longer.
- Lukas (10/5): Beautiful stay with animals and within nature - Excellent stay with amazing food. Resort has their own 8 rhinos, wildebeest, zebras and springbok antelopes. You can see them daily while chilling by the pool or eating during the day Wifi needs improvement its worst than wifi in the desert

- C.H. (10/5): Fantastisch, we komen terug!
- Thomas (10/5): Eine besten Lodges in Nsmibia🔝🔝 -
- Stephan (1/5): Not to be recommended and completely overpriced for the league it wants to play - 5 rhinos are not enough - The room was nicely designed. But the overall facilities below par. Constant noise of frogs, moths everywhere, food ok, service people nice rest difficult. Had addressed what I needed for payment and it was completely ignored.
What the hotel offers does not remotely justify the price.
The other hotels of the group especially the hohenstein lodge were great that’s why we came but were completely disappointed Completely Overpriced for what it offered, no comparison to the Hohenstein lodge we stayed before
- Birgit (10/5): Genial - Außergewöhnlich- traumhaft -
- Mark (9/5): Mostly very good - Good location, good food and staff The chalet was incredibly hot when we arrived; it needed to have the curtains drawn and the air con on all day. The air con itself was not really up to the job, it needs to have 2 units, one for each area. Didn’t like the “captive” rhinos
- Ina (8/5): -
- Kaitlin (10/5): - The property is amazing. Rhinos freely dine with you at breakfast and a friendly turtle will lead you to your room. The staff is i credibly friendly and attentive. Also my evening game drive was magical. Thanks to my driver, I was able to see lions, giraffes, elephants, and all sorts of other wild animals. Not a negative, but be forewarned you are very much in the game reserve area and intimately close to wildlife. You will hear it throughout the night.
- Ruth (10/5): - The staff were friendly & welcoming. Rooms were lovely & bar restaurant & pool area great. Loved swimming with rhino feeding at the waterhole nearby! Nothing
- Florence (10/5): -
- Nathal (10/5): Fantastische plek nabij Etosha. Alles klopt hier! - De ambiance: alles klopt. Van locatie, inrichting, huisje, eten & drinken. Niets
- nicolas (10/5): Genuine welcome, stunning location & super friendly staff - The concept of hospitality : stunning locations & design, very spacious rooms, quality & tasty food (chef Rasmus!) and staff that makes you feel 1) at home, 2) a valued customer without being pushy. I can only recommend it. n/a
- David (10/5): -
- Melvyn Boiskin (9/5): Excellent stay but needs to be perfect at these prices - Almost everything! For an establishment charging premium prices the breakfast offering needs to be more expansive and allow individual choice, particularly with regard to the cooked options
Also...we had guests being collected at 04:45 in the unit next to us and were outside talking loudly and dragging suitcases over the paving... being woken at that time is unacceptable
- Rachel (10/5): Simply magical. A very special experience in a gorgeous space in a stunning environment. - This is a very special place. The accommodations were exceptional. All of the details and decor in the room (and lodge) were clearly thought out. The bathroom was beautiful, the linens were hand-stitched, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. They have excellent park access, and they have a fantastic watering hole onsite with tons of animals in a gorgeous common area. I saw more animals here than I did in the park! The food was outstanding. I loved that drinks were included, but you could upgrade if you wanted to. Their staff was helpful and the guides were knowledgeable. I had Bono! I highly recommend staying here. That I wasn't there longer!
- Petrus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristian (10/5): design - - luxury stay
- location near park gate
- style
- food
- Michelle (10/5): Truly unique hotel with all sorts of animals on the premises. - Truly unique hotel with all sorts of animals on the premises. The food and staff were also outstanding.
- Hilary (9/5): Superb -
- Jose (8/5): Very good -
- Martin (9/5): Perfect lodge Food good safaris excellent - Excellent lodge for safari eyc Nothing
- Magdel (9/5): Excellent facilities and friendly staff, will go there again. - Very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the best I had in a long time at a lodge. Very close to the Etosha National Park. Wifi could be better, basically no wifi in the rooms. A proper chair to work at the table in the room.
- Emil (10/5): A beautiful and luxurious lodge just outside Etosha! - We recently spent one night at this stunning lodge, and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!
The “rooms” are actually individual buildings, providing a wonderful sense of privacy and space. Our room was incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and very clean. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into every detail, making it feel both luxurious and comfortable.
The property itself is in a really beautiful location just outside Etosha. The entire experience was elevated by the friendly and welcoming staff, who went out of their way to make us feel at home. The food was another highlight—absolutely delicious, with the meat being some of the best we had during our entire trip.
However, the most unforgettable part of our stay was the opportunity to watch white rhinos from the main building. They come incredibly close, sometimes within touching distance depending on where you’re sitting. It was mesmerizing to watch these magnificent animals up close while enjoying a drink or a meal. This experience alone made our stay truly special and is something we’ll never forget.
The lodge definitely feels like a luxurious retreat, and we regret that we only stayed for one night. We would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in Namibia.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay so memorable!
- Anthony (9/5): Superb -

- John (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Fantastic. Again. - The hotel thought of everything to make your stay pleasurable
- Ian (10/5): Luxury - Service and staff were impeccable
- Dennis (9/5): Superb - Great lodge, wonderful staff (especially our guide Alloys)
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Marcin (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was good. Lots of animals on the property Far walk between last hut and the main building
- Dalia (10/5): Magical - The Lodge is a magical place. With water hole in front of the dinning area, beautiful rooms, friendly staff and breath taking sun rises and sun sets that one can enjoy from their own varanda. N/A
- Andrea (9/5): Luxurious hotel close to Etosha’s Anderson Gate - It‘s a very luxurious hotel aprox. 15 minutes from Etosha’s Anderson Gate. The rooms/tents are very nice and spacious. The dinner menu was great! The game drive was also really nice. There wasn’t a specific thing that we didn’t like, but taking the price into account, there are just some details that should be improved. For instance, there were many instances when the staff was just chatting and we would have to go ask them, if we could order something from the bar.
Also, the rooms get really hot despite the air conditioning, so you have to close the curtains all day and can’t enjoy the nice terrace.
- Johannes (6/5): Great concept, needs work on detail _ Overprices for what you get. - Location great
Service average.
Food good Overpriced.
Staff friendly, mostly but need 5 star training.
Rooms excessively hot - No blockout during 11:00 t0 16:00. AC does not really help.
Game drive, at least one should be included.
Need a sunset drive on property.
- Anthea (10/5): Exceptional - Very posh Interieur and they even had gluten-free food
- David (9/5): Superb - The location is really nice, you can see the animals come around the lodge at all time.
The deco of the rooms and the main lodge are really well thought
The walk in the bush.
The food was fantastic. The best in Namibia.
The bush walk with the Guide was very interesting and educational, we spent over 2hours in the bush. The guide who is from the North of Namibia also shared the history of Namibia and the different culture that makes this beautiful country. A smart young man with a good general knowledge. The Air conditioning runs only while your in the room since it needs your room key to activate.
You would need to ask for a spare key to keep it running because it gets very warm and the AC itself is not the best I have experienced. However the night cools the room nicely.
We did a game drive and had a lady guide for the day. I can't say she was very concern by the customer satisfaction, her knowledge was poor or she just did not show any interest. Drove fast and if you could ask once or twice to stop to enjoy the moment, her body language was all negative. No thank you and good bye despite the usual for tip at the end of the day.
The next day, we did the bush walk with another guide who s originally from the north of Namibia. This was a very interesting walk, very educational. (see the like comment)
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in 6 different locations in Namibia and this was definitely one of the best. It has everything on your doorstep - the wildlife, location, staff, architecture and design, comfort, friendly staff. Highly recommend!! Wifi isn't great
- Anita (10/5): Nashörner am Wasserloch - Wonderful spacious bungalow. Delicious food. Very friendly employees. -
- Leni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): The best short stay I have ever had. - Absolutely fantastic in every way. Wonderful lodge with incredible staff who could not do enough to help. We had a problem in the park with our car and 2 staff devoted 5 hours of their rest time to help us. I rarely go back to the same place but I will return as soon as possible to this lodge. I can not find a single fault.
- Siggi (7/5): this could be the best lodge near Etosha - stunning product, great location, good food, very nice Chalet, close to Etosha no internet, staff at reception come across that you are lucky to stay there, claimed internet was down due to rain, still down days after only sun shine, petrol station next to lodge super wifi ????????
- Jonas (9/5): A very unique and unforgettable start to our Namibian journey - very close to Anderson gate - great location
beautiful scenery with two waterholes, lots of animals
very friendly staff and amazing rooms AC was not the best and did not cool down the room properly during the day
- Elias (10/5): Great stay -
- Oliver (10/5): Friendly staff and amazing, sizeable room - We visited during off-season so hotel was very quiet. However staff were extremely accommodating throughout our stay and the food each evening was fantastic...normally five courses. Room far exceeded expectations; it was huge with a very comfortable bed and outside seating (chairs and loungers). We opted for a guided safari drive on our last day which was great. Even better the hotel let us keep the room for the remainder of the day until we were ready to leave. We stayed in other hotels in Namibia that made us check out ahead of any morning tour meaning we couldn't have shower etc whewn we got back. It's a small thing but it really made a difference to us after a long and very early start!
- Jeannine (10/5): beautiful lodge with stunning bar and beautiful rooms - such a beautiful lodge stunning views with waterhole and rhinos visiting, 4 course dinner was such great quality, game drive with Anna was one of the best she has such incredible knowledge. rooms huge and stunning beautifully decorated and comfy bed with aircon. highly recommend this place didn’t like is too strong! but golf buggies would be useful to get to the farthest rooms as in this heat was quite tiring. wine in the mini bar would be great! these are only suggestions.
- Candy (10/5): definitely will return the team was fantastic and the resort is very beautiful and extremely organized and very private - excellent customer service WiFi could be better in rooms
- Thibaut (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was incredible! From the warm welcome of the security guard until every detail of the room and the main building. Only wanted to stay longer ! We stayed only one night to go to the East part of Etosha park the day after and we definitely should have stayed two nights to enjoy the area and a day gale drive in Etosha that was amazing.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Kristjan (10/5): Premium high-quality lodge with plenty of privacy, great food and service. 6 resident Southern White-Rhinos just outside - Recently built, high quality finishings, great interior design, premium look and feel.
Spacious lodges with lots of privacy. Wi-Fi, as it was satellite based, really didn’t work over the 3 days of our stay.
Purchasing a local Sim-card recommended.
- Armand (10/5): A paradise place - The rhinos and the pool were amazing. All the lobby, lounge, sunset areas are wonderful. the tents are fabulous To pay for a cappuccino during breakfast is not fair in my opinion. In this level of hotel, with this price, it has to be included for breakfast.
- Thomas (10/5): Private, luxurious and spacious accommodation. Convenient for Etosha. - We had a premium family chalet which was large, private and luxurious. The air conditioning was effective and the beds comfortable. The room was cleaned in the morning and the beds turned down in the evening. The bathroom area was large with an excellent shower and an outside shower which was completely open with a great view of the bush. The terrace was large, comfortable and completely private with extensive views over the bush and no other buildings or walkways in view. Perfect privacy was ensured by the fact that guests are not allowed to stray from marked areas.
The common areas were spacious and luxurious and included three sets of sundowner seats where guests have a great view of the waterhole which was visited by several rhino, springbok and other animals each evening. The food was of a high standard and staff were pleasant and helpful..
The Anderson Gate of Etosha National Park is only a 15 minute drive away. The wifi was unreliable (several devices were tried).
Dinner starts at a set time and each course served to guests simultaneously, meaning that we were unable to eat at a time and pace that suited us.
- Ghislain (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful lodge. Very peaceful.
The staff is very professional
The food is good
This place is very well managed and I highly recommend this lodge.
