• Sue (8/5): It was ok for a one night stay which was what we needed. - The views were beautiful, the hosts couldn’t do enough for us. The apartment had many personal touches and it felt very homely. The sizes of the bathroom facilities.

• Stacey (10/5): - Everything! From arriving at the property to leaving it was just perfect. The views are stunning the cottege is beautiful and has everything you need. Jude was amazing she showed us where everything was and asked if we needed anything. We went wrapping our Christmas gifts and there was so much room it was brilliant. Cannot fault the cottege at all. We actually wish we had booked more than one night. Can't wait to go back.

• Janet (7/5): Lovely outdoor space, high standard of furnishings and attention to details. - Lovely outdoor seating area and views. Well appointed sitting room and high standard furnishings. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was a fusty smell, particularly in the bedroom. There was no window so it couldn’t be ventilated. It was a little off-putting. No wash-basin in either the bathroom or shower room. The toilet could be replaced with one that has an integrated basin above the cistern to rectify this.

Struggled a little using the induction hob but figured it out after 10 minutes of playing with it 😂

So big and beautiful decorated and big comfy bed . Best night sleep I've had in a long time . We loved the big cinema screen . We just loved everything especially seeing the cows and baby calves coming to say a hello in the morning . Gorgeous grounds to sit and enjoy the scenery . Best place I've stayed in . The house is amazing, so clean, excellent facilities and comfy beds too. The tv projector is fantastic and we had a wonderful stay. Excellent shower too, really powerful. Nothing

• Jeremy (10/5): Beautiful house with lots of space to hang out with friends and family - Beautiful house, every little detail was perfect and pristine clean. The living room was very spacious. We were in Darwen to visit family, and they came over and spent the evening together catching up. The terrace was lovely, overlooking the grazing field for sheep. Jude, our host, was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely return the next time I'm back visiting my family. The shower room and toilet are a bit small, but they worked perfectly, with good water pressure, and hot water.

It really is faultless The views are spectacular/ the garden is perfect for relaxing in. The hosts are really friendly /helpful and went above and beyond for us The property is incredibly spacious and oozes quality. Real comfortable bed/ nice big kitchen The cinema screen in the lounge is fantastic! We are regular travellers and stay in lots of different places (booked via BDC) and this place is right up there with the best. I would call it a ‘little gem’ but it’s definitely not little! We will definitely be back (hopefully when we have a bit more sunshine) Nothing to dislike at all

Lovely host - answered all my specific questions very promptly and made sure we had everything we needed and knew how everything worked. Jude met us on arrival but there was a handy key safe. Bottle of Cava and milk in the fridge. The location was lovely with fantastic views during the day and great views of the stars at night. Patio doors to the garden and views over the West Pennine Moors. The bed was huge, warm and cozy. We loved the film projector for watching tv - amazing! There was even a baby grand piano. There were all the facilities you need. As someone else pointed out, there is no conventional oven but there is a gadget that pretty much does the same thing as an oven and a plug in induction hob with 2 rings. It was easy to find on a major A road but still really quiet. Good off-road parking space. Great place for a romantic getaway. It wasn’t a problem for us but it’s worth noting that you have to go down a flight of steps to get to the property so might not be suitable for anyone infirm or disabled. There was nothing we didn’t like.

The views from the lounge and garden were just lovely. It was very warm and cosy for a November stay. Highly recommend. As we like to cook, for a longer stay we would have preferred a four plate hob with a conventional oven, and a freezer compartment in the fridge would have been very useful. However, for our short two night stay we managed very well. Overall the facilities were excellent.

• Becky (10/5): Fantastic stay - We stayed at Cadshaw country views Aug 2024 as we were attending a wedding in the area. I booked 12 months in advance and Jude was really proactive and kept in touch. The property is amazing! Clean, spacious, great views and all the facilities you could need. We had a great stay and would highly recommend.

• Kat (9/5): Lovely homely apartment with comfy beds. - A lovely apartment. The full kitchen and large lounge-room made us feel like we were at home. Beds were amazingly comfortable and the hosts were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

There is no hand washing in the bathroom, but it is in the room. There is no air suction in the kitchen. (But I will not lower the rating because of the beautiful view and the fantastic outdoor seating)

Great night's sleep and lovely views in the morning - even managed breakfast outside! No oven - we didn't notice that this was not mentioned in the property information.

It exceeded our expectations. We'd definitely stay again. Highly recommend. The shower room and separate toilet room are both very small, and the washbasin, therefore, is in bedroom. The nature of the old building means these can't be changed. Having said all that there is hand sanitizer in the toilet room, and the shower is really powerful.

Projector for watching footy was an added bonus! Providing milk and bottle of welcome fizz was an unexpected lovely touch to. I don’t think there is anything that can be improved on, it’s a lovely space and great for working. The shower room is small, but it isn’t something that bothered us.

Bed was very comfortable and the host was communicative and gave options on how we wanted the sleeping arrangements set up. Parking was good. Sitting in the garden listening to all the birds was very relaxing. There's nothing to not like. However it's slate floors so I was glad I took slippers.

• Mohammad (7/5): Pleasant Stay. Might re-visit in Summers one day - Greeted by a friendly host. Bed was massive and most comfortable. Great location. The property is best enjoyed in Spring or Summers on a sunny day. The view at the back (the ones in the pictures) is quite nice and relaxing. Too bad we visited in Winter months. Also worth the money I would say. Sainsbury was 5-10 min drive. The location is slightly remote and you need a car ideally to stay there so that you can commute around to places of interest. Nothing I can think of at the moment except for this property those not having a car and traveling via taxi/train/bus may have a difficult time.

Property was amazing: extremely clean and comfortable, very spacious and well decorated and a lot of amenities. Very comfy bed! Loved the piano! Property is in an area where phone signal is not the best and some minor issues with wifi in some rooms, but the host made us aware of this.

• Anonymous (10/5): Our stay was short, but comfortable and homely :) - We loved the decor and comfort of the beds/sofas, the added details of extra blankets, the friendliness of the hosts and the cinema projector screen was a lovely surprise and a real treat! The only thing I'd say was a down side was having no sink in toilet, and no mirrors in the lounge area which doubles up as second bedroom. These were minor things though and definitely not enough to say a negative word about the place!
• Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Cadshaw Country Views, what a lovely, lovely place. The online pictures of the wonderful views really don’t do it justice, probably one of the most scenic morning coffee’s I’ve ever had. Peter and Jude were such genial hosts, so accommodating and have the loveliest apartment. On what was an extremely sad occasion (we visited Darwen for a funeral) it really lifted spirits. The walks that are within touching distance of the property are truly beautiful, we could’ve been in Montana, and the loveliest pub (the Strawberry Duck) at round it all off. Thanks so much for having us guys, don’t forget to update the listing with the cinema projection screen. That thing is awesome, I simply have to get one installed myself now 🙂
