• Jerome (9/5): Quiet, comfortable and modern property nestled in the Kilkenny countryside - Located a mere 20 minutes away from Kilkenny, Kilfane Country Lodge was the ideal property for my children and me. We were greeted by our host Brian, who was very friendly and helpful. The property was very easy to find, spacious and modern, equipped with a breakfast bar, a toaster and a smart oven. The surroundings are very peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended!

• Hank (4/5): - The host provided breakfast, such as bread, yogurt, cheese, instant coffee. It's a misnomer calling this place a country lodge. It's an airb&b, and I wouldn't have booked it if I knew it's really an airb&b. The cleanness of the facility is questionable. The beddings had stains on them. The swing in the front yard is broken. The bathroom in suite 1 in particular is a bad setup. We were told it was for accessibility, but we didn't need accessibility accommodations, and the problem with it is that there is no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, not even a curtain, so once someone took a shower, the rest of the bathroom is completely wet and inaccessible unless you want to tread water to even just wash hand. I am not sure what the owner is thinking to leave the bathroom this way without making a bit of effort to at least keep the rest of the bathroom separate from the aftermath of a shower.

• Jeffrey (6/5): Short stay convenience with continental breakfast - Convenient to Thomastown, and Salmon Pool pub which had traditional Irish music every Friday night. Also within reasonable driving distance of Kilkenny, and reasonably priced accomodation. Host was welcoming and helpful. Property did not have a dining area, and the bedroom facilities were average. To be fair, continental breakfast was available from a table and fridge in the foyer, which we took back to our room, where we had a small table at which we could eat. Did not feel like a “Country Lodge”, more like a staff house.

• Ashley (10/5): A wonderfully easy, straightforward and very comfortable stay at the lodge, would recommend - Brian had everything we might need in the morning at the lobby , cereals milk etc and the room was so well equipped. Brian couldn't have been more helpful and we would love to come and stay again. We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids and they loved their bunks ! Thanks Brian we had a great experience.
• Vanessa (10/5): Home away from home. - Brian, the host was absolutely amazing with our situation very accommodating, I can’t recommend staying at Kilfane country lodge enough! It’s clean, spacious , perfect for family stays. It’s located in the perfect area to access all of what the localities have to offer. Brian went above and beyond for our stay and made us feel right at home.
• Aisling (10/5): Enjoyed a very comfortable overnight stay in a clean hotel with friendly, welcoming staff - It was so clean. So helpful organising travel cot for our small fella. Thank you. (Just an FYI I don’t think those cot sheets will fit the size of that particular cot) but I put down a duvet inside the cot & he was cosy out. Thank you

One had to go out to a hall and bring in the food to your room to eat it. We had assumed we would to have a normal breakfast experience i.e the host would cook a breakfast for us in a dining room, not that we had to get our own in a hall way. Maybe it should be maketed as an air bnb, as this was more like the experience we had

Ended up going into to pub/restaurant where Joanne/Josie welcomed us and got the key. Then we proceeded to enjoy the pub once checked in and enjoyed many lovely connections via conversation!

• Maksymilian (10/5): Would stay there again, great place! - I loved it. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Room was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The bathroom was great and well maintained (it is usually the weakest link of all the different places, but here it was spotless). The host was great, willing to help and assist with whatever the guests might require. I loved my stay there. Little tip having a hair dryer in a room would be great as I tend to travel light and do not bring such things with me.

• Fiona (9/5): Modern stay, plenty of parking and a Smart tv to go off sleep to! - It is a new place, so you can see the renovations still held in the place and the area. We had a triple room, and I was impressed with the new amenties and rooms, the heating is great inside the rooms and the bathroom as it is adjustable. We had a triple room, but I suspect it is also an accessible room. One of the unexpected bonuses was the Smart T.V which we enjoyed using before going to bed. Brian the host was hospitable, and showed us how to lock the property when leaving and coming back. The towels, bedding and toilet were very clean, and we had a comfortable sleep. The Tea making facilities were a nice touch and came with biscuits, Bonus! I would go back, as the room was very comfortable, cozy and Brian was lovely! One of the guests in my group couldnt access hot water, however when I went in, there was hot water. There seems to be breakfast facilities and a general area that is not yet open, so we didn't have the option of a breakfast while making this booking online. However the rate was expensive without breakfast, so I would recommend having a reduced rate while doing the renos and back to standard when all is complete. There is no hairdryer in the bedroom, but I did not ask. A Body wash would be great, and a tray in the shower to hold personal things.

• Aphrodite (10/5): Great spot just outside of Kilkenny - Brian was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was large, clean, and modern. Brian offered to drive us to Kilkenny in the evening so we wouldn't have any issues with intoxicated driving. The facility is currently under renovations so no bar or breakfast is available. Not a deal breaker for us. This place will be even better once the renovations are completed.
