• Kerry (10/5): Fabulous stay, wonderful host! - We loved everything about our stay in this lovely home in Portree! The location was absolutely perfect—-within 30 minutes drive to nearly everything we wanted to see & do (Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen, Old Man of Storr, etc.), & also an easy walk into the downtown for meals & exploring. The host was so warm, kind & welcoming. Beds were very comfortable and the place was spotless. We would 100% book here again if we are ever so lucky to return to Isle of Skye!
• Mary Jo (10/5): - Janet, our host, was so gracious with her communication before & during our stay. A cozy & very clean 2 bedroom with all the amenities you would need…a nice sitting area with a big screen tv & electric fire place that kept you toasty warm; everything you would need in a kitchen for a short stay & a lovely bathroom/shower. Plus, Janet had items for breakfast to make your stay extra special!! I would recommend this place to anyone!!

• Krisztián (10/5): Fantastic 3 nights in Portree - Janet was very kind. She welcomed and also bid farewell to us, while we haven’t seen her during our stay. She was exactly what you expect from a host. The house was spacious, located in a quiet street, just a short walk from the centre. The welcome package of sweet goods and drinks were various. We really liked everything!

Every detail had been considered by our lovely host - it was exceptionally clean and comfortable, with milk, cereal and bread for breakfast, along with a few snacks. Very warm and friendly welcome - and easy to find, was to park, check in and check out. Couldn’t be better definitely recommend as a top place to stay! Centrally located in a quiet street with private parking. The only thing I could say I didn’t like was the force of the shower. Could really do with a better shower.

• Lisa (10/5): Jan is an excellent host of this awesome property. I highly recommend and hope to return one day. - This property is in a safe quiet location with only a very short walk to the town center. A huge storm blew through the highlands while we were there but we were snuggly inside this home and slept right through it. The owner even provided us with supplies (food and candles) in case we were to be stranded there without power for a while, which didn’t happen but she prepared us. So nice!! I don’t have anything bad to say about this property. At all.

Janet was absolutely lovely and left a fabulous basket of goodies that were most appreciated. Thank here were also brochures supplied and maps to that were so helpful. Unfortunately many places do not supply this. The water pressure was a tad low.

• Tracy (9/5): - Beautiful apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent base for exploring the Isle of Skye. Janet is very kind and provided us with breakfast (bread and jam, cereal and milk, coffee and tea). She also suggested us to see the highland game, which is one of the highlight of my trip.

• Gideon (9/5): Superb stay in Portree - Absolutely fantastic stay in Janet's lovely apartment in Portree. The location is great and is within walking distance to Portree main town. It is a great base for further exploration of isle of Skye. Janet is kind and sweet and the breakfast prepared was an added bonus! Only complaint was the shower, the water pressure was abysmal and it is extremely difficult to get the right temperature, either too hot or cold with minor adjustments

The place was exceptional and the hosts could not have been more accommodating. • Belindagordo (6/5): Great location bit lacking in amenities - Location. walking distance to main town and Bars Welcome basket of breakfast treats. Communication with owners Shower!!!!! The shower went from scorching hot to freezing cold. the water pressure was barely enough to wash the soap off. Nothing to cook on. A microwave but no microwave bowls to heat up baked beans or anything in. Ridiculous rule of not bringing takeaway back to the house. if you cant cook a meal then takeaway is usually what you want next. the Kitchen/dining/lounge room is all in one and only just big enough for 4 adults to sit in This place has 2 bedrooms but really only big enough for 2 adults.

• Jan (10/5): This is a nice quiet location with a wonderful hostess. - This is such a comfortable place to stay with friends. It is spotless, too. Janet was always so responsive whenever I sent questions prior to our arrival. She had instant coffee, tea, cereals, fruit, bars, bread, milk, jams, etc. there to make sure we had something we could eat for breakfast. It’s maybe a 10- minute walk to Portree, and we used taxis, too. When we left, Janet sent us off with a delicious bag of caramel fudge that was to die for!

We arrived late and there was a fruit and cereal basket, milk in th fridge and tea and coffee. It's a quick walk into town to get supper or a pub meal and has excellent wifi. All they promised was there. We will definitely recommend this spot and will be back. Thanks Hillend House! Nothing!

One of the wardrobe sliding doors was broken and couldn't use the iron as it didn't have a cap on the water tank (great excuse not to do the ironing though :))
