Guest Reviews
Można by zadbać bardziej o czystość.

- Johannes (10/5): - We had such a great time there, you’re living in the middle of the jungle. The food is outstanding and Jorge is the best host.
Might come back one day!
Thank you!!
- Marat Azatjan (10/5): - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (6/5 Stars) – A Sanctuary in the Jungle
Hukumeizi is not just a hotel; it’s a portal to another world. Hidden 3.5 km deep in a nature reserve, the journey itself tells you that you are about to experience something rare. I loved it so much that I decided to extend my stay and cancel other plans—this place simply doesn't let you go.
The property is a masterpiece of tranquility. My favorite ritual was the morning by the river, watching the sun’s rays pierce through the dense canopy of trees. It is a deeply spiritual place that allows for a total mental reset. You feel as comfortable as at home, but with the wild heart of the Sierra Nevada beating right outside your door.
The food here deserves its own award. Every meal is a celebration of local ingredients, served with so much heart. From vibrant ceviche to cozy candlelit dinners and the most creative breakfasts I’ve had in Colombia, the culinary experience is high-end yet soulful.
The team running the place makes you feel like family from the second you arrive. You can feel their passion in every corner, including the beautiful, bold art that decorates the space.
If you are looking for a place to reconnect with yourself and nature, this is it. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. I will definitely be back to this magical jungle home. 💚

- Natalya (9/5): -
- Tony (10/5): Tranquil river sanctuary for nature lovers and those looking to reset mind, body, and spirit. - Awesome remote location. Expect unpaved dirt roads through lush jungle forest and crossing a stream. You’ll be rewarded with a tranquil sanctuary with a sacred river. The light hits different here. Jorge is super responsive. The food is amazing — clean, fresh, creative, delicious. Great WiFi connectivity. It should be expected that you’re in nature and there will be bugs. This is not unexpected or an issue for me personally but guests should be aware. There is no A/C but sleeping with door to balcony open with the curtains drawn closed helps. You’ll be lulled to sleep by the babbling river. Hukumeizi is not super close to Minca, getting there requires a mototaxi or 4x4 (to get through forest to the main road) — again not an issue for me but consideration of future guests.
- Sandra (8/5): - Grote kamer met geweldig uitzicht over jungle!
- Neta (10/5): Amazing - Such a special stay in Minca 🌿
thank you to Jorge for such an amazing stay .
Your hospitality made the experience so special. The food was incredible, the rooms were beautiful and calm, and the whole place was perfect for disconnecting and being in nature.
Couldn’t have asked for a better host! thank you for everything! Nothing
- Anna (10/5): How I wish I was there now... - It was a special experience, Jorge you are the best :) it was a pleasure to be there, spend time with people, river, silence, palm trees, waterfall, long walks, and I must mention - the food that was brilliant. If you read it now wondering to go or not to go - GO :)
- Martyna.o (10/5): We would come back anytime - Hukumeizi is like a fairytale :) perfect for doing absolutely nothing. Rooms are spacious and keep pleasant temperature, you can fall asleep with the sound of the river & jungle.
Food is amazing (which is super important if you plan not to move from the property), one of the best we had in our lives.
Make sure you book a minimum of 2 nights to fully experience it.
Jorge can arrange almost everything what's needed <3 We liked absulrely everything, simply writing the below for others to know what to expect, so the place will not get any bad reviews from surprised travellers :)
- getting there is by 4x4 or motorbike, you can walk as well as long as someone leaves you in a correct spot (walking from Minca takes around 2h, motorbike 20min).
- if you book a food there - there is no point to move :) simply swim in a river, do short walks, play with the dogs, take a nap etc.
- be aware of bugs, mosquitos etc.
- bathroom has no door

- Zac DOLLING (10/5): - Amazing place. Highly recommend coming to stay here Nothing. It's perfect
- Philip (9/5): -
- katiana (10/5): -
- Whatelsedoyouwanttoknow (10/5): Home is where your heart is, and so is Hukumeizi. - I like EVERYTHING. Hukumeizi is magical. Sleeping to the sound of the jungle, the river... extremely relaxing. Slowing down like there's no life outside of Hukumeizi, that's just what we needed.
Jorge was an amazing host, always so extra special with us. And Luisa and Emilse, those cooks! I think they've taken Jorge's vision of amazing food to a whole new level.
I love Hukumeizi. Missing it already. It feels like one of those places that changed you, touched you forever, you know? Can't wait to get back.
I will go back to Hukumeizi for a longer stay. I have to.
Having the worst hangover of my life since I left Hukumeizi, and I didn't even drink a single drop of alcohol.
PS: Emilio is a great artist. Nothing.

- Mona (10/5): Most magical stay in Colombia - Hotel Hukumeizi is a very special and magical place!!! In the nowhere ... very calm and quiet. Lovely people on site. We stayed longer than planned as we felt so comfortable and on ease and did not want to leave. Highly highly recommended. The road to get there was stressful but it was worth it. Don't go there by low car.
- Virginie (10/5): ZALIGE PAAR DAGEN IN DE NATUUR - We hadden prachtige dagenin Hukameizi.

- William (10/5): A beautiful mix of delicious and surreal, just the way I imagine paradise to be. - The food and the staff were exceptional. The rooms were very nice and the access to the river is a big plus. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- Katie (10/5): Serene paradise in the jungle - Beautiful property in the middle of serene, secluded nature, but just a quick moto ride away you can explore the town of Minca; lovely to connect with the other guests and hotel staff (as well as the adorable dogs living on property) over absolutely stunning dinners; everything about the space was intentional and designed with love! Everything was perfect - but do be aware it’s down a long dirt road with some river crossings and is quite secluded, as well as integrated with nature - absolutely beautiful for me, but perhaps not for the guest who prefers something a bit more urban/commercialized
- Juan (10/5): My heart is full! 🤍✨ - The staff was super friendly, the food was beyond delicious! Getting to interact with the indigenous communities in such an intimate way was very special! And going to sleep with the sound of the river every day was super magical! Will definitely come back to Hukumeizi Minca. N/A
- Tim (10/5): A rare kind of magic that stays with you. - A truly extraordinary experience. Writing a glowing review feels almost like betraying a secret. Part of this place’s magic lies in its quiet, under-the-radar charm. But some experiences are too special not to share.
It’s no small feat getting here. Halfway along the dusty back road that leads in, you either have to cross a river by 4x4 or venture on foot across a rickety wooden bridge. Not quite as prepared as we should have been, we enlisted the help of some friendly locals to reach the final stretch. The crossing felt like a quiet test, almost a spiritual gateway, as if the river were deciding whether you were worthy of entering the magical realm beyond. It felt like something out of Lord of the Rings. On the way back, crossing that same river felt like the end of a great adventure and a reluctant return to reality. Bittersweet.
We swam in the river, unplugged from the noise of modern life, and rediscovered the joy of life's bare essentials — things we’ve largely forgotten in an age of constant distraction. My partner had the chance to share a meaningful moment with members of the Indigenous community, which added a profound layer to her experience, as a Colombiana.
For me, the highlight was the intimate dinners: shared meals in a communal space with fascinating people from around the world. Jorge, the host, is nothing short of exceptional. The dishes he and his small team prepared, using inventive techniques and local ingredients, weren’t just among the best I’ve had in Colombia but among the best I’ve had anywhere. If Jorge ever set his sights on opening a restaurant in the UK, I’ve no doubt it would be a huge success. But selfishly, I hope he doesn’t, because what he’s created here is something far rarer and far more magical. N/A
- Darraghd (10/5): Bliss - Had the most fantastic stay at Hotel Hukumeizi. From the amazing food (most of which they grow themselves or source nearby, and you can tell), to the location, surrounded by nature, waterfalls and swimming spots at your doorstep, our stay here was absolute respite! Jorge & Co are building something special here, and we’re grateful we had the chance to experience it. Only that we couldn’t stay longer!
- Annabel (10/5): Exceptional - This place massively surpassed our expectations! Jorge and the team were incredible, the food was unreal and the experience was so relaxing and peaceful. They really have something special here and I can see it only getting better. We feel honored to have spent time here. The natural waterfall, swimming spots, locals and views were such a treat, we even saw Monkeys! (Additionally they sorted all our transfers which was super helpful)
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bashir (9/5): Superb - Abundant nature, in the middle of the forest in Minca.Large comfortable rooms.
Great Value. The road to get there was rough, but I enjoyed riding it on the motorcycle.
That's the main thing to consider here you need an off-road vehicle to get there. Management can arrange it for you.
