• SYLVIA (9/5): I had a wonderful excellent experience in this home. - I was in an awe how clean and bright is the home. Love the atmosphere and I had a wonderful sleep in all my days of stay. Miss the owner's dog Bella and Bruce. Love the neighbourhood, easy access to eatery and public transportation. The owner is always reachable and fun to communicate with. One of my best stay during my travel. Felt so safe and peaceful. Nothing except cant boil my eggs coz stove is not allowed...hahahaha

• Lowther (5/5): If your accommodation is not available, the alternative should be the same standard. - The location was convenient, within easy walking distance of Toronto downtown, however we didn't stay where we booked because of a maintenance issue at the property, and we were put into an apartment complex. The apartment room was very basic, there were no amenities, no way to make coffee / tea etc, no utensils like cups, mugs, plates, no chairs, we had to bring the outdoor furniture inside. After meeting us the first day there was no further communication from the host, to see if we needed anything.

Near to the bustle of Bloor St, but quiet, quiet neighborhood with a real sense of what an old Toronto neighborhood feels like. People out about walking with kids or dogs or just by themselves. Wouldn't have minded a coffee and chat in the morning. I could have used a fan in the room since I'm not used to the humidity.

• Jonas (4/5): Unsatisfactory stay, with less equipment than we expected and a host where the only friendly things are the platitudes o - The accommodation was definitely very clean with a modern interior. The bathroom is nice and our room was okay size wise, but nothing special. Felipe seemed polite in the beginning. The description of the accommodation on Booking is by far not complete. The kitchen exists but it’s basically not usable as a kitchen as the host doesn’t want people to cook in there. That should be clearly stated. For us the kitchen was the main reason to book that accommodation. We thought we can cook there, also because the accommodation shows pictures of the kitchen on the booking page. Telling people on arrival that they can not use the kitchen to me feels like fraud. To be fair: you can cook water and use the microwave. But this is not equivalent to a kitchen. So maybe only show pictures of the water cooker and the microwave instead of the whole kitchen and STATE CLEARLY that the kitchen is not a full kitchen for guests. We had to trash food and also spend more money for taking food from outside which made the stay 20% more expensive. We got a sheet with the house rules on arrival where it wasn’t stated that we’re not allowed to cook either. Felipe was convinced that this is stated on Booking. When asking him where exactly, he wasn’t able to show. Also the description on booking says “no pets allowed” and the host has two dogs constantly running around in the kitchen. I don’t have a problem with the dogs being there, they are actually adorable, but the host again didn’t state that on Booking. For people with a phobia or allergies that could be a very bad surprise. Also in our opinion it’s not clear what kind of accommodation this is. We only found out that it’s kind of the home of the host on arrival. Something I would also state more clearly! To us it seemed like Felipe is not really made for living with guests that he invites to his place. He’s not unfriendly but also not really friendly. Definitely and sadly one of our worst stays in an accommodation, that is by itself pretty nice…

• Rodrigo (4/5): I don't recommend it, unless you're on a budget - The apartment was very clean and the room we rented too. The neighborhood is very calm and there are a couple of nice houses to please your eyes. The check-in procedure was simple. I felt very uncomfortable with two cameras installed in the apartment: one filming the staircase to the rooms and the living room and another in the kitchen. If you want to chill out of your room, you'll be filmed. According to booking.com, there should be a water kettle in every room, which isn't true. I contacted the host and he took more than 24h to answer, and only because I insisted in my question. Two dogs live in the kitchen, which can be a bit strange, if the kitchen can be used by the guests to prepare food. The host was very impersonal, giving recommendations like "don't wear underwear out of your room" or "take off your shoes" but didn't care to explain to us what could be of use in the common areas. There is a step between the staircase and the room 1 that could be signalised in order to avoid accidents. A bit far from the metro and from downtown.

There is a lot of construction happening and work starts before 7am so it got loud. Not the fault of Felipe and it's not permanent

Also the area feels nice and safe, even in the evening. The walls are a bit thin, but everybody was considerate (no parties, no loud music), so that was not really an issue.

The room I booked was really comfy, I slept like a stone 😌 It takes some time to get there from Toronto central, but it's a nice neighbourhood and easy to reach by metro + bus/foot. His house is really nice as well as the bathroom available for guests. I would have liked to have some control over the air conditioning in the room as I don’t usually like airconditioning while sleeping, however, perhaps if I had asked Felipe he would have helped, so that’s on me.
