- Ghadeer (6/5): Secluded - The views from the room Location is far from everything
We had to wait almost an hour for the boat to take us to the island when we arrived and The boat was not available for us to leave the island when we wanted. Nothing to do on the island except relax

- Philipp (10/5): - What a beautiful guesthouse. Overlooking the lake is a terrace for breakfast and dinner and to relax after excursions to Aswan or Philae Temple. We enjoyed the boat rides to and from the island and they organised a trip with the boat to Philae for us. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean and the staff is extremely helpful. A really peaceful place.
- Abdelrahman (10/5): - Everything was amazing, the rooms, the stay, the food, the people. Everything was wonderful. They organized a Nubian party for like 30 minutes. It was great but for someone who saw Nubian parties before, there could be a lot better options for this part.
- Sherine (10/5): - Staying at Ayujidda was a beautiful transportation of the senses. The most serene view, delicious food, very comfortable room with a lot of soul. The people are all wonderful and staying here was really relaxing. Highly recommended! Thank you to our super hosts! We all loved the property and didn’t want to leave :)
- Bushra (10/5): Our stay was a whole different story of beauty and comfort. Mr. Mohammed Khairy, Reem, and Shaimaa were incredibly kind -

- Ahmed (10/5): Best Camp in Heissa - place, staff, hospitality and every single details. one of the heaven places in Heissa, after 10 years of Heissa ❤️ and for sure I will not forget the Flexibility of Tamer, the gteat welcoming of Khairy and the lovely smile of Reem and Shaimaa😍 Simply Nothing.
- Yasser Ibrahim (10/5): - amazing stay over nile , room was clean stuff is friendly 👌
- Ahdab (10/5): Fantastic stay at Ayujidda, Heissa is a gorgeous island with wonderful families, very safe and clean with delicious food - The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and generous. The place is very well kept and clean, over looking the nile, and set up to meet all your needs Everything was great

- Sheira (10/5): Our stay here was absolutely perfect! The place offers a peaceful escape from the busy commercial areas of Aswan, yet -
- Badran (10/5): Comfy and Relaxing - The room is clean, fully equipped and very comfortable. Additionally, its location is so serene and calm. None
On apprécie l'eau chaude.
- Ali (10/5): It’s the best trip for very long time - Location Staff
- Naila (8/5): I enjoyed my stay, host was always able to answer any questions and make arrangements when I needed - Breakfast and dinner was delicious and fresh always. If there was ever anything particular we wanted to eat, the hosts were happy to make it. The owner was always able to help and answer any questions and make arrangements for trips. Room was nice and comfortable, views were beautiful. Location everything was far so I couldn’t venture out but I knew this before going. One evening the dinner was served cold which was deflating as we had a long day. But other than that everything was great.
- Marianne (5/5): Scary - The " hotel" should have been listed as on an island with no dock. The only access was thru a motorboat with no lights in the middle of the night. They should make clear this hotel is not accessible by boat. No WiFi. No AC.
- Bilal (9/5): Superb - A very nice location and view very nice and friendly staff Nothing amazing stay just that it was a hard to walk around
- Mohammed (9/5): If you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy genuine hospitality in a breathtaking setting, Ayujidda is the perfect retrea - Our stay at Ayujidda on Heisa Island, Aswan was simply magical. This boutique lodge, with just five cozy rooms, felt like home—but in paradise! The breathtaking panoramic views of the Nile, the peaceful remoteness, and the warm hospitality made it an unforgettable experience.
Everything was perfectly arranged, from airport pickup to seamless logistics. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained with daily housekeeping. A boat was always available upon request, and kayaking on the Nile was an absolute highlight.
A special thanks to Reem and her team, who were always at our disposal, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their warmth and attentiveness made the stay even more special.
The food was delicious, especially dinner, and the atmosphere was simple yet incredibly cozy and authentic. The kids had a blast, and all ages truly enjoyed the experience.
- Steven (6/5): If ferry logistics are perfected then I would stay again. - Room was very comfortable. Outcropping of island boulders is stunning. The logistics of the ferry service to and from hotel is impractical. Was not easy setting up back and forth between taxis and ferry from town. Too far from Aswan City.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good - Very peaceful location. Lovely food. Boat to mainland and arranging for taxis worked very well. Very helpful hosts
- Shan (4/5): Disappointing - Very clean I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and my son in October and overall we will not stay here again. The room was very clean and that was the highlight. The people were nice but no one spoke English so we felt very very helpless at times when we really needed something. There was one girl who knew very little English and we mostly interacted with her. There are no shops on the island if you wish to buy food or medicine or anything else. We opted to have dinner here on our first night and there was no menu or option given to us, we told them we are vegetarian and they served us a couple of dishes and Nubian bread and rice and salad. They could not explain what dish we were eating and we just ate salad and rice as we did not like the taste of the dish they served. Which we found out on the day of check out that it was EGP 600 for that dinner !! We had nowhere to go to eat anything so for the next 2 nights we bought bread and peanut butter and ate that in our room. The next night the girl did try to ask us what we want to eat but we did not know the names of any Nubian dishes and she couldn’t understand anything we said. She was nice but we were very frustrated because no one could understand us. The owner had already informed us before we reached that he will be off the grid when we are staying there. On the morning we were leaving, we needed a boat which they arrange for you at 5 am as we had a 7 am flight to catch to Turkey. At 5 am there was no boat and the whole family who was managing the place was asleep. We knocked several time and no one opened, we then knocked and banged all their doors and windows from all directions and finally one of them woke up and called the English speaking lady. She then called the boat guy and informed us that it will come in 10 minutes. And while we waited on the bank of the river, she went back in. We were alone in the dark hoping a boat will appear. She just left us alone there and went back to sleep.
- Jodie (7/5): We loved the warm welcome, comfortable room, and peaceful views. - The location was peaceful and we found Ayujidda to be a beautiful escape from the crowds and sight seeing. We were able to coordinate with Tamer to arrange all of the outings that we wanted to achieve. The staff were welcoming and we greatly appreciated their generosity and kindness. The room was very comfortable with lovely river views. Although we enjoyed the quieter location, it's worth noting that it does require boat trips and taxis for outings and this means coordination with a range of people and the physical ability to climb into boats or walk planks for boat access. However, we found this to be part of the adventure.
At the time of our visit, the wifi connection was limited and the card machine was not working. Consequently, we purchased a local sim card and had to make a series of cash withdrawals at ATMs (with accompanying charges) to pay for all transactions with cash.
- Gergely (3/5): Very isolated home in the middle of a lake. - The rooms were modern and well equipped. The house is located on a remote island just behind a dam. While the room was good, the journey between the shore and the island was quite challenging. The boat is operated by a teenager, and it often runs late. The house is essentially a family's home. They do not speak any English, so communication with the owner is only possible through WhatsApp. I would advise avoiding this property unless you are seeking a very disconnected and isolated experience. It is not suitable for those who wish to explore the city or nearby attractions.
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chrysi (8/5): The perfect place for a relaxing time, but not great if you want to visit the town a lot - If you are looking for a relaxing place to spend a few days away from the city and people, it is perfect. You can do yoga on the veranda or just chill at the covered common sitting area. Also, the breakfast was great. This place is located in a small island in Nile, with no car access. They send you a boat to take you from and to the mainland whenever you want, and the city is about 15-20 minutes drive away. The location is so peaceful and quiet, but a bit difficult to access and there are not much things you can do on the island. Not ideal if you want to visit the city more than once a day. Also, although after booking the communication through booking was in English, when we got there we found out that the staff do not talk much English, so we had to use google translate to communicate.
- Maurizio (10/5): Highly recommended! Our fav hotel on the trip - Beautiful hotel with great views of the Nile. It’s small and cozy yet with so much style. We wished we had stayed longer! The bed was SO comfortable, the food was delicious. We were very well received by the owner and team. Positive all around!
- John (9/5): Excellent! - Looking for a unique place to rest on the Nile close to Aswan? We are vegan and eco conscious and the Ayujidda Nubian House may be ideal for you. Quietly tucked away on Philae Island and accessible only by boat, the facility is family run and we really enjoyed the stay. Tamer Darwish is the host and fortunately speaks very good English as our Nubian/Arabic is less than adequate. Tamer was always available to assist by phone or text.
The mother/daughter team that tends to the daily operations do not speak very much English but with the use of google translator, we managed to fill in the gaps. The room was clean and comfortable, the food was so very good and plentiful…I have no idea what most of it was, but it was delicious!
Plan ahead to ensure the boat is available, and they can arrange cars or whatever you may need. We typically arranged the boat for an early morning departure and then returned for a fantastic meal in the quaint, pillow-laden open-air dining area as we reflected on the day and watched the Nile go by.
As we were there during Ramadan just a few weeks ago, one evening as the entire family gathered to break fast, we were graciously invited to join. We enjoyed a great meal and wonderful conversation with a few that spoke English…it felt like we were part of the family. Kind, gentle & giving people, will always remain in our memory. If the absolute opposite of a Hyatt or Holiday Inn is your thing as it is ours, try it.
- Kent (9/5): We truly enjoyed our peaceful stay complete with yoga and writing sessions on our private terrace! - A beautiful , authentic place to stay with elegant, boho boutique style rooms that are perfectly designed to blend in with nature, offer you a private retreat and provide all the amenities you need for comfort. The food is homemade and delicious! Feels like you’re in your own little world on the island. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
- Antoine (8/5): Amazing location in a peaceful place, away from trafic and noises from the town. The terrace view is absolutely magnific -
- Naixin (1/5): 很糟糕 - On February 18th, 2024, I stayed at Ayujidda Nubian House Hotel in Aswan. When I took the boat provided by the hotel, I twist my feet and broke the bones because of slippery ground. I spent about 4000 EGP on treatment in the local hospital. The hotel only eliminate the expenses of meal and arrival about 1600 EGP, and refused to show up and answer the phone when checking out. After returning to China, continued treatment have already cost about 1,000 RMB, and I can not go to work for a month. The cost of missing work was relatively high. After contacting the booking, the hotel still refused to compensate any part of medical expenses and lost wages. If the hotel can not give a satisfying reply, I will continue to take legal action to defend rights.
- Mariam (9/5): Peace and quiet in a beautiful location - Beautiful location, very cosy room with balcony and nice bathroom.
Staff was very kind and helpful.
- Angela (9/5): Perfect experience of rural life - Ayujidda House is set on a quiet island overlooking the dam. It is peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Reim, our host and cook was very good at trying to speak English. We ate both Breakfast and Dinner at the house and it was delicious. Mustaf our boat driver was excellent, always on time and was always willing to help. If you are wanting to experience traditional Nubian life this is definitely the place to book. Be aware that Tamir - the man who organises all the tours and communicates on Booking.com is based in Cairo. There is very little English spoken at the house, we used Google Translate a lot. Everything is arranged via Tamir. The wifi isn't good at the house. We bought Voda sim cards at the airport but these didn't work on the island (although they worked everywhere else). I would like to suggest that once returning from excursions - drinks are offered and snacks available to buy. I think that this BnB has great potential.
- Jeanne (9/5): A memorable stay with unique cultural immersion - Staying at Ayujidda Nubian House with my family was an absolute delight! The owner was responsive and courteous in all communication. The location of the house is perfect for getting a glimpse of traditional Nubian life. The boat ride to the island was one of the highlights, offering beautiful and tranquil scenery. The Nubian architecture is stylish and charming, and the decor elegantly blends tradition and modernity. The bed was very comfortable, and all amenities worked well. The team prepared a delicious dinner soon after we arrived, and the housekeeper even made breakfast ready in the room for our very early flight the next day. The owner also offered the best deal for the tour to Abu Simbel. Our trip was neatly arranged and we didn't need to worry about anything. Everything went smoothly including pickup from our cruise ship, completing the day tour, drop-off at the boat dock for the island visit, and the boat ride and car drop-off at the airport the next day. We wish we had stayed longer!
- Kamel (8/5): Very good -
- Amr (9/5): Superb -
- Francesco (9/5): Superb - Temer was great! He organized for us an authentic experience of eating and dancing with locals. The location is not the easiest to reach but it’s great to relax
- Ismail (8/5): Peaceful relaxing trip - Relaxing, friendly staff, beautiful location. Food not as expected and very limited choices.

- Mashnul (9/5): Delicious food and amazing views! - The staff were very hospitable, the food was delicious and views were amazing! The breakfast was probably the best I've had during my stay in Egypt The location is a bit tricky to get to logistically but the staff were very helpful in arranging boat/car transfers
- David (9/5): I will come back again! It was a great place to experience Nubia.. - Food was always fresh and delicious, location on the water was breathtaking. Location was peaceful.
- Sauri (8/5): Peaceful and away from the bustle - I booked a one night stay at Ayujidda Nubian. The owner needed to shift my room to the nearby Miskaa Nubian which was equally good if not better. We had dinner at the Ayujidda Nubian house - was surreal as it was a candle light affair next to the water under the moonlight.
Getting there involves taking a car to the Heissa boat launch and a boat from there - and needs some pre-work to set it all up. But Temer, who runs the establishment, was very quick and responsive to all my messaages and made sure it was done smoothly. A few mosquitos - need to take bug spray or they will provide you some.
- Azusa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Unforgettable experience and fantastic stay - Literally everything. It offers a wonderful combination of authenticity, hospitality and comfort. The view over the Nile was stunning. Amazing home-made food was sampled, great people were met and lifelong memories were made. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Everything was perfect for the purpose of my trip.
- Diana (10/5): Our best days in Egypt were at Ayujidda! - EVERYTHING was simply perfect! The food was the BEST we had in Egypt. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, clean, and eco friendly which we love! The service and hospitality far surpasses any 5 star hotel. Tamir proactively arranged our airport transfer, a romantic sunset dinner along the Nile, and even accommodated an extended stay for us all before we even left the USA. We would have stayed longer if our trip allowed, we loved Ayujidda so much. This must not be missed! If we stayed longer!
