• Linsey (9/5): Lovely stay in Siargao - There is a vegan restaurant attached The property is clean and spacious There is a cat ! Quiet and lowkey When I checked in to an empty room I was allocated a top bunk and when I asked to move it seemed to be an issue (the room was empty all night) the next three people who checked in on subsequent nights were all given top bunks leaving the bottom bunks free. This makes no sense to me. I haven’t seen anything like this before.

Man kann sich nur wohl fühlen & das dazugehörige Café ist das beste Vegane Café der Insel für Frühstück und lunch!! Ich werde immer wieder kommen, danke vedya <3

Lekker restaurantje naast de deur. Je krijgt ook een ‘bon’ voor 1 gratis ontbijt bij het restaurant. Weg uit de drukte maar toch heel erg dichtbij het centrum. Heel erg proper en supermooi! Aanrader!

• Mirte (8/5): - Heerlijk bed, mooi inrichting en goede douche. Fijn dat je een gratis ontbijtje krijgt voor het restaurant! Trage wifi, beschimmeld slaapkussen (waarschijnlijk door de vochtigheid, maar zou hem vervangen…) en gemiste uitleg hoe deur op slot moest. Wasbak is ook wat beschimmeld en verouderd. Misschien een extra prullenbak in de kamer zou fijn zijn!
• Elaina (9/5): I would stay again due to the common space and value - Great kitchen, places to sit and read and relax. Very homely a very nice space to be in. I enjoyed doing yoga /lounging in the common area it was very spacious and comfortable. I was extremely hot in bed as the AC was far from my bed and people in the room would set the temperature to suit them. It would be better if it was locked like other hostels so people don’t argue over room temperature. Also, some little kids who were very cute but not guests came numerous occasions and played /jumped on me as I sat. It would be nice if they didn’t disturb guests I know they’re young but if they’re not staying at the hostel I’m not sure why parents allowed them to run around it.

• Budge (10/5): - The property is gorgeous and so well kept. Bea is so attentive and helped us get scooters and has even made a Canva with her recommendations for food, activities and general advice for the island. We were in a room of 6 beds and each bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was well kept. The social areas were good and met some really lovely people here - but it’s not by any means a party hostel! Vedya plant based cafe is next door and the food is unbelievable! Coffee is also great (probably one of the best flat whites we’ve had in the Philippines so far!) Also the kitchen is really well equipped is you are looking to save money on food. It was fully booked ao we couldn’t stay longer!

• Elizabeth (8/5): Would recommend! - This was a great place to stay - lovely comfy bed in private room and shower - really nice calming aesthetic throughout. Staff super friendly and offered scooter rental. Was amazing having the coffee shop out front to wake up to every morning! I would recommend this place to my friends and would stay again ✨ No hairdryer. Would be nice to offer complimentary umbrellas - even if it’s the case to put down a deposit for one.
• Joanna (9/5): - Sehr schön gestaltetes Hostel in ruhiger Lage. Die Dorms sind okay, man hat ein Bett mit Gardine für Privatsphäre, aber etwas eng und es bräuchte mehr Stauraum. Sehr ruhig und zieht eher älteres Publikum 25, 30+ an (definitiv kein Partyhostel, es gibt wenig Social Vibe/Aktivitäten, aber eine Whatsapp Gruppe). Es gibt eine Küche zum Kochen. Das Hostel hat Starlink Internet und einen Genetator für Stromausfälle. Das angeschlossene Café ist vegan und hat guten Kaffee, leckeres Essen und ein tolles Lunchangebot zu okayen Preisen. Sehr nettes Personal sowohl im Hostel als auch im Café. Wenig Platz in den Bunkbeds und Dorms für die eigenen Sachen - etwas mehr Stauraum. Kein bis kaum Internetempfang im Zimmer/Bett. Insgesamt wären die Dorms besser, wenn mehr kleine Reparaturen durchgeführt würden z.B. kaputte Schrankschlösser, Gardinenstangen die ständig aus der Wand fallen, Löcher in der Bettwand etc. Evtl. 2-3 soziale Aktivitäten pro Woche, um einander besser kennenzulernen. Wasserspender war oft leer. Teilweise wurde nachts die Fernbedienung der Klimaanlage mitgenommen, sodass es sehr kalt oder sehr heiß im Zimmer war, es aber keine Möglichkeit zur Anpassung gab.
• Florence (10/5): Home far from Home - It simply is the best place I’ve stayed in Siargao and I’ve been on the island for a while now and stayed in many different places. It just feels like home. The people working there are the nicest and very helpful, the ladies who clean the rooms are the kindest human beings and the people staying more long terms are nice too. Really hardly recommande Vedya. It’s clean pretty and chill. If you feel a bit mellow all the animals there will cheer you up too.

• Stefano (2/5): “Boutique” - This place is a perfect example of how aesthetics are used to mask deeper, structural problems. I stayed here for 7 nights and what I experienced goes well beyond a “minor inconvenience”. For several days I calmly and politely reported a persistent cockroach issue. Each time, the response was the same: apologies and ineffective surface spraying that solved absolutely nothing. The situation escalated when I found a cockroach in my bed. At that point, I explicitly asked for proper treatment of the room, not cosmetic cleaning. I was moved to an adjacent room, only to continue finding cockroaches in the bathroom every single night thereafter. Let me be clear: this is not a cleanliness problem, it is a lack of pest management and preventive treatment. Calling a property a “Boutique Hotel” implies attention to detail, care and responsibility not just curated design and good lighting for social media. I want to be fair and precise: the cleaning staff was always kind, respectful and hard-working. The issue clearly does not lie with them. Without proper products, tools and professional treatment, no cleaning team can resolve a structural pest problem. This is a management failure, not an operational one. The property enforces a policy of no shoes or slippers inside common areas and rooms. I personally appreciate this concept if the standards of the facility make it realistic. However, this is not Japan, and I have no intention of stepping barefoot on cockroaches while half asleep. Such rules require a level of hygiene and pest control that, unfortunately, is not present here. “Eco” does not justify neglect, and it certainly does not excuse a constant presence of cockroaches. Under no accommodation standard is this acceptable. What ultimately confirmed the deeper issues was the attitude at a management level. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the manager, Isa, never once came to speak with me directly.

• Laila (8/5): Best cozy space and breakfast in Siargao - I really loved the space, the amazing cafè-restaurant and the amazing breakfasts. I also loved the space inside, so cozy. The atmosphere is very open and there is a community where sometimes organizes cinema nights I would have liked that the bathroom was cleaned daily.
• Ginger (10/5): - Away from the busy part of the island, so perfect for a restful stay. Rooms are cleaned every day, beds are comfy and staff is friendly. You also have a restaurant on site! Wifi can be spotty inside the room.
• Amanda (5/5): Beautiful place but falling apart from water damage and poor facilities - Really nice staff and easy affordable scooter rental. Good recommendations for around the town like places to eat and do laundry and yoga etc. beautifully decorated aesthetically. Good location in the town proper so easy to go anywhere on a scooter within a few minutes. The building, like many in siargao, is very water damaged and smells very damp, even the open air reception/common area. The air con is free for anyone to set so people in the room often change it or turn it off or to an uncomfortably hot temperature for other guests. It would be better if it was set at a reasonable temperature by staff and the remote taken away, this works well in other shared hostels I’ve been to. There’s only one bathroom per dorm so you can wait quite a long time for it and there aren’t any more in the common areas.

Everything is very clean and also all the staff is very friendly. Specially Mimi looked after us a lot and gave us a warm welcome. If we come back we will stay here again!! Everything was perfect

The hostel is a bit further (5 minutes on scooter) from the busy street, but there are a few nice cafes in less than a minute walk which was also lovely. Overall we loved our stay at Vedya!

• Christoph (3/5): - Das Essen im Restaurant war gut und die Unterkunft an sich ist schön und gepflegt. Das Personal kümmert sich kaum um die Gäste, insbesondere die junge Frau an der Rezeption. Sie grüßt nicht einmal zurück, wenn man „Hallo“ sagt, und wirkt deutlich genervt, sobald man eine Frage hat oder etwas benötigt. Man fühlt sich nicht willkommen und eher als Störfaktor. Zusätzlich haben wir zwei Tage vor Ankunft ein Shuttle vom Flughafen bestellt, da dieser Service angeboten wird. Erst eine halbe Stunde nach unserer Ankunft an der Unterkunft haben wir eine Rückmeldung bekommen, dass der Fahrer angeblich auf uns wartet und fragt, wo wir sind. Die Kommunikation war hier praktisch gleich null. Außerdem haben wir nur ein einziges Handtuch erhalten. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns gesagt, dass keine weiteren verfügbar seien – bei diesem Preis sollte das eigentlich selbstverständlich inklusive sein. Ich schreibe normalerweise keine Bewertungen, aber diese Unterkunft hat leider eine verdient. Für den verlangten Preis ist der Service absolut nicht angemessen. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft ihr Geld nicht wert.

• ivan kenley obelidor (8/5): Love to book again if given chance to go to IAO - The Host/Receptionist, Bea, is very kind and very extra concern to us (we've stayed on the place during Typhoon Tino). She made us feel safe and also, offers extra hands to neighbors(as transient). The sense of charity was felt. The accommodation is resilient as we have generator in place. However, we understand sustainability though, the electricity has issue even after the flood (takes another day to resolve) thus have the electricity and internet on scheduled. But overall, it was a good experience on there place.

• Paul (8/5): Pretty Boutique Hostel for an appropriate price. - Nice & comfy Bed. Loft like Open Space and clean kitchen. We also got a free breakfast voucher. Rooms are a bit too far from soundproof.
• Fordie Body (10/5): For a SOLO traveller, this is a must place - I had such a great experience at Vedya Hostel. The place is well-ventilated, very spacious, clean and filled with natural light, which makes it really aesthetic. The people are super friendly and accommodating, and that makes the vibe even better. The vegan food at the front is honestly one of the best I’ve had in Siargao. Their latte and matcha are also really good. Overall, this hostel feels like a home away from home. It’s warm, cozy, and the perfect place to stay if you want comfort and good vibes. Definitely a place I can highly recommend. The only downside is that the WiFi doesn’t really reach inside the rooms, but everything else makes up for it. Also, the CATS were missing when I left the place, I missed cuddling with them.
• Alicia (7/5): Bonito y acogedor - El sitio es monísimo, como una casita que sirve como hostel compartido (abajo), y con habitaciones privadas en la planta de arriba, con zonas comunes muy cómodas para poder tumbarte. El estilismo del hostel es muy bonito, acogedor y tiene mucho “rollo” isleño. Tal cual como parece en las fotos. Las habitaciones eran grandes, bonitas y las camas y sábanas súper cómodas y gustosas. La cafetería del propio alojamiento es súper buena (vegana) y ofrecen desayunos / comidas geniales (por la tarde ya cierran). En el baño faltaba una limpieza más profunda. Además, nosotros en particular, tuvimos un pequeño problema que fue que desde el segundo día (estuvimos 6) no salía agua del grifo del lavamanos. Lo dijimos a varias personas del hostel y en repetidas ocasiones, incluido al que parecía el encargado, durante días, y no lo solucionaron hasta el día antes de irnos (y porque abordábamos al personal cada vez que les veíamos, que no están mucho). Tuvimos cucarachas en el baño 3 días (no sé si debía ser por el problema del agua). Las habitaciones tienen rejillas arriba de las puertas bastante grandes, por lo que la luz entra mucho y también el ruido, y al ser un hostel con habitaciones y zona común compartidas, a veces era un poquito más difícil descansar.

They reacted very fast to whatsapp messages and solved problems that had occured in my room. Good location, close to the center and yet quiet. The private room is extremely overprized considering how the room is equipped. Nothing to hang up your clothes or put your luggage on. Water pressure in the shower is very weak. The room and public areas in general could use some renovations.

Nice location in a not too noisy area, with a lovely café on site. Shout-out to Bea for being so helpful :))) The bathrooms could use a little updating. And a better towel system so they don't get mixed up in the dorms. Sometimes no drinking water, but it was replaced within a couple hours. Very minor!

• Aj (9/5): Superb - Nice social atmosphere. Private bed pods were nice. Common area with kitchen was one of the best I've seen for a hostel. The hostel was full of girls, when I arrived they were shocked there was a male. The first straight male they had seen there in a month apparently. I was immediately objectified and it was very funny. Only one bathroom/toilet for each dorm which wasan ensuite. Would be nice to have a toilet outside of the area everyone is sleeping.
