• Lynda (10/5): Peace and quiet in nature reserve - The location is isolated, inside a nature reserve. Surrounded by undisturbed landscape, with 360 degree views from the property. The room was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable bed. Excellent fresh breakfast, with selection of cold items laid out and warm items cooked to order. Nice to choose whether to dine at the property in evening. Welcoming hosts. Central living and dining area available for relaxation outside of room.

• Kerrin (9/5): Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. - Das Housekeeper Ehepaar ist super nett. Man fühlt sich sehr gut betreut und willkommen. Sehr leckeres Essen (allerdings etwas teurer, als wenn man irgendwo essen geht). Tolles Frühstück. Sehr schöne Lage, es ist sehr einsam und abgelegen. Die Aussicht und die Sonnenuntergänge sind einmalig. Wer mehr Trubel haben möchte, dem ist hier vermutlich zu wenig los. Hat uns nicht sehr gestört - aber es ist ein offenes Bad im Zimmer - also nicht so viel Privatsphäre wie vielleicht gewohnt oder gewünscht. Es gibt keinen Fernseher im Zimmer, jedoch in dem großen Wohn-/ Esszimmer.

• Thomas (8/5): - Super freundliches Personal. Ein wilkommensgetränk zur Ankunft und eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit am Nachmittag, mit getrockneten Fleisch erhalten. Sehr familiär, die Besitzer waren ebenfalls zu besuch und abends wurde afrikanisch gekocht. Die Zimmer haben alles was man braucht, Shampoo, duschdas und sehr bequeme Betten mit toller Aussicht. Alles top, doch die Zimmer sind sehr warm, da keine Klima vorhanden ist.

• Volker (10/5): Auszeit auf der Gardenroute...zu Gast bei Freunden - Das mag sich für Urlaub komisch anhören, aber für uns war es ein bisschen wie "bei Freunden übernachten ", obwohl man sich nicht kennt. Die Freundlichkeit, die Gastfreundschaft, die Aufmerksamkeit ggü. den Gästen war genau so, wie wir das mögen: authentisch, zurückhaltend und aufmerksam und man redet miteinander (wenn man als Gast das möchte). Einen unvergesslichen Abend mit Essen haben wir in großer Runde verbracht, einen Abend allein mit Diner mit Blick auf die Dünen und das Meer. Der sundown-Drive mit dem Jeep zum Meer ist super...alles andere ist wie bereits in anderen Bewertungen beschrieben Unbeschreiblich schön, wenn man Ruhe sucht und sich an der Weite nicht satt sehen kann, dennoch in kurzer Entfernung nach Stanford oder Gansbaai, um etwas zu unternehmen. Unsere Empfehlung: Auf jeden Fall in der Lodge zu Abend essen. Danke Euch Vieren. Uns fällt nichts ein, was nicht bereits angemerkt wurde und was der ein oder die andere als mehr oder weniger störend empfinden kann.
• Mirja (10/5): Eine perfekte Unterkunft mit unfassbar freundlichen Gastgebern. - Die Unterkunft liegt traumhaft, ist sehr modern und gleichzeitig gemütlich. Die Gastgeber dieser Lodge sind genauso toll wie die Eigentümer.Es hat alles gepasst,es wurde hervorragend für uns gekocht und wir hatten einfach eine sehr gute Zeit… Da gibt es Nichts
• Alexandra (10/5): Unbedingt - Was schreiben, was andere Gäste noch nicht gehuldigt haben?:) Als Österreicher haben wir uns natürlich doppelt wunderbar aufgehoben gefühlt bei Manuel und Jasmin! Aber auch Kate und Blessed tragen enorm zum Wohlfühlfaktor bei. Während unserer zweimonatigen Afrikareise haben wir uns nirgendwo so gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Denn auch das Konzept des ‚Guesthouse’ nebst den sympathischen Akteuren, fördert den perfekten Aufenthalt. Wir hatten so tolle andere Gäste, mit denen wir wirklich unterhaltsame Gespräche führen konnten und so zu neuen Kontakten kamen. Zum Haus: Wenige Zimmer, ein großes Gemeinschaftswohnzimmer mit angrenzender Küche, die man wenn man möchte nutzen darf-aber man bekommt soooo tolles Frühstück und Abendessen kredenzt, da rührt man selbst keinen Finger mehr:)) Das Haus und somit auch die Zimmer sind neu und modern, aber auch sehr geschmackvoll und individuell ausgestattet-zudem hat jedes Zimmer seine eigene Terrasse mit unglaublicher Sicht in die Weite. Der Pool ist perfekt zum Abkühlen, der Hot Tub hingegen für die frischeren Abende. Kate organisiert einem zudem auch alle möglichen Ausflüge-wir hatten einen tollen Ausritt unternommen! Wir planen bereits wieder zu kommen! Ähm was für eine Frage:))) Alles perfekt!

• Kressner (10/5): In the middle of nowhere, Gastfreundschaft auf höchsten Niveau - Alles, wunderschöne Unterkunft in the middle of nowhere. Die unglaubliche Gastfreundschaft und Grosszügigkeit und die unglaublich tollen Menschen, Kate die uns unglaublich verwöhnt, Blesset der Kobrajäger, Manuel der perfekte Entertainer und Jasmin die den Überblick behält. Alles gefüllt mit sehr viel Herzblut und Herzlichkeit und Menschen die unsere Reise unvergesslichbmachen werden. Danke Euch allen. Gibt nix aber auch gar nix was uns nicht gefallen hat, ausser abreisen zu müssen

• Dirk (10/5): Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit! - Nicht nur die außergewöhnliche Lage der Walker Bay Dunes Lodge, sondern insbesondere die Herzlichkeit von Kate und Blessed haben unseren Aufenthalt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. Wir haben die Zeit total genossen und werden sicher wieder kommen.

• Sonja (7/5): Sehr angenehme Unterkunft - Es war sehr sauber und das Personal mega nett! Schon morgens zum leckeren Frühstück wird man freundlichst empfangen. Coole Lage mitten in der Natur, die 4x4 Fahrt zum menschenleeren Strand war auch genial! Nach der Kelders zu den Restaurants ist es trotz der Abgeschiedenheit eine kurze Fahrt! Auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert! Mir fehlte ein Föhn und nachts bzw abends fand ich’s zu dunkel auf der ungesicherten Terrasse als das ich dort mich gerne aufhielt.

• Anita (10/5): - Where dreams come true: We were spoiled for comfort, attention, care in these magnificent surroundings! The building is intriguingly designed, one feels like on a ship in the dunes. In the evening, spectacular sunset views await. At night, it's a perfect location for star gazing. With any weather, the views on the sea and mountains are spectacular! The central fire place makes the mornings and evenings comfy and cozy. The food is all freshly prepared with fresh ingredients and very tasty. The host family are the warmest and gentlest we've ever met. "Be at home", they said. We were.

• Paul (9/5): Fabulous hospitality, in an amazing position - We were spoilt beautifully by the wonderful hosts, Kate and Blessed. We were brought wine and nibbles when we arrived, hot water bottles in bed, beautiful breakfast, so friendly and helpful. The sunset was breathtaking; the views generally otherworldly and amazing. It was jolly cold, but a gas heater kept us warm at breakfast, and a log burning stove is promised.

We felt at home in the modern yet homely property. Our room and amenities were carefully designed. Thanks again for an excellent stay.

We also had guests come for dinner who were welcomed and treated well. Really felt like family. The communal table was both a positive and negative. Although we had beach towels in the room there were no bathroom towels.

The rooms fall a bit short on the comfort level. Beds and pillows are hard with only one size pillow. The rooms are cold with no heater/air conditioning. The building is modern but when the wind blows it really rattles.

• Alison (10/5): New listing in the fynbos a wonderful surprise - Everything was perfect, from the hospitality to the cleanliness to the decor. It's a new listing and I was more than pleasantly surprised. It needs to be better signposted from the main tar road. Otherwise there's nothing to complain about at all. Nice surprise find that we'll definitely go back to.
• Mcleod (9/5): Wonderfully relaxing setting and experience. We would love to return to this lodge. - Unique and beautiful views and location. The design of the lodge is very sympathetic to the surroundings. Massive sliding doors and deck allow sunset and sunrise viewes. The coffee and tea options are extensive and excellent. Our room did not have a desk. One of the five rooms does have a desk with space for 2 people though. The bed was comfortable, but not quite up to the same standard as the rest of the lodge.

• Anne (10/5): A piece of heaven. - The setting was absolutely superb. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Our hosts were charming and eager to please. The accommodation was very comfortable and tasteful. The wild flowers were spectacular. Nothing.
• Alison (10/5): Superb and unexpectedly good value for money when one considers other places in the area that are no - The breakfast was fit for royalty. The plinge pool was a godsend - it was 35 degrees that day! The decor and layout are tasteful, modern, original and spacious, and the feeling of being away from it all out there in the beautiful reserve and all the fynbos is indescribable. Our hosts, Kate and Placid, were fantastic, friendly and more than accommodating. We will certainly return for more than just one night next time! Nothing. If forced, I would say a braai area would be nice, but they are apparently about to install one, so all good!
• Alison (7/5): Good on the whole - We were only there for one night but the hosts were very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. The setting is in the heart of nature and would be spectacular in good weather but unfortunately the weather was cold, wet and windy when we were there so we didn’t see much of it. The property is a long way from the main road along a VERY rough dirt track. The lodge is newly built and has not got a proper heating system yet. No kettle in the room but you can use the shared main kitchen to make hot drinks
• Liezl (8/5): Gorgeous and tasteful - Beautiful setting, tasteful accommodation. Building not completed yet, with bricks standing in piles in the veldt but was still lovely.
• Andrew (10/5): A great weekend break from the city. Nearby Stanford is a gem, the beach at Walker Bay stunning, and - Breakfast was great and our hosts were super friendly, gracious and efficient. We left an item behind in the room when we left and I was messaged shortly after, to inform me of this. Rooms are very neat and clean, as is the entire establishment. Nothing worth mentioning
