Guest Reviews
- Dougal (10/5): Perfect - Location and cleanliness only thing to fault, no washing up sponges, other than that perfect!
- Charles (8/5): -
- Ysabelle (10/5): Excellent place to stay - we would visit again! - Lovely property - comfortable, relaxing location, well equipped, and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nothing to dislike.
- Garo91 (10/5): - Incantevole, in mezzo alla natura.
Struttura bellissima
- Stephanie (6/5): It had potential.. - The location was nice, down a farm track so felt quite private and peaceful. Little noise other than the birds, the cows and the occasional tractor passing.
The main bedroom was a decent size and the kitchen area was nice and modern and had good amenities; kettle, microwave, oven, washing machine.
Additionally, when we arrived it was 30 degrees outside and even hotter inside, reaching up to 36.5 degrees inside and they were thoughtful enough to provide us with 2 fans, both of which were turned on on arrival, so we did appreciate that. Spiders ! Whilst I appreciate it was a farm and it was hot, I have never encountered so many spiders in a single place. When we arrived there were cobwebs along the ceilings and both dead and alive spiders hanging out on the walls. Arriving as 1 adult and 2 children, both of which are scared of spiders, it was a less than ideal stay. I had to catch a few which we released outside but the last night was the final straw as one crawled over my kid whilst she tried to sleep resulting in both kids getting in the double with me to try and sleep - spoiler, not much sleep was had, especially with the heat to contend with.
Additionally, the bedroom windows don't line up when you close them so I'm not surprised so many critters managed to find their way in. As well as the curtains in the living space not actually being big enough to cover the main window, although thankfully there is noone outside to peer in, it's something to consider.
As others have mentioned too, the sofa is not very comfortable and the shower tray is very slow to drain.
Finally, the porch area was scattered with more cobwebs and dead flies, now I know it wouldn't bother some people, but it just generally left us feeling a little disheartened.
I would also advise that the drive from the main road to the caravan is a very bumpy one. As it's a farm track it's understandably filled with holes and bumps so bear that in mind if you don't have a car with higher ground clearance.
- Cheesman (8/5): We had a wonderful stay - Perfect location for us, lovely and peaceful had everything we needed and more. Slow draining shower tray.
- Rebecca (5/5): Nice location, not sure about the accommodation - It was very quiet The bedrooms and beds are tiny and the walls are very thin. The twin room has only just space for two beds and it is impossible to walk around the beds. We could talk to one another through the walls. The photos of the rooms are very carefully taken and suggest they are bigger than they are in real life.
- Tracey (9/5): - Beautiful location and spotless accommodation.
- Chris (9/5): Cracking secluded spot but close to some great local attractions - Fabulous tucked away location.
Very well appointed for its size Track down is a farm track and needs negotiating carefully (not a complaint)
- David (10/5): - Lovely location, very peaceful and well situated for a short journey to the South of England Showground. Plenty of room inside and outside and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you.
- Ruth (10/5): Perfect. Just what we needed! Thank you. - Everything was perfect thank you! We loved the orchard & all the outdoor furniture. We loved the location. It was all perfect & very well equipped. We weren't expecting a washing machine & a dishwasher! So those things were added bonuses!
- Elissa (8/5): Would certainly use again - Very quiet location. Fast response to questions. Good instructions to get there More blankets
- Nicola (9/5): -
- Malcolm (8/5): Nice location, very pleasant. -
- Anthony (8/5): Good for the amount of money for one night - The fact it was on a farm They need more outside lighting as we arrived in the dark and found it difficult to navigate our way to the door
- Katharine (8/5): -
- Nicky (9/5): - The over all experience was lovely. Very peaceful. Lovely accommodation. Unfortunately the toaster didnt work, the dishwasher wasnt great at cleaning and the sofa is really uncomfortable.
- richard (10/5): perfect, just right, - everything was great, apart from the weather,
gret location, nothibg every thing was mega
- D00001 (10/5): - All of it. Fab location. Very immaculate and comfortable
- Ellen (10/5): Cosy, secluded, relaxing, peaceful. - Everything was perfect, the biscuits on arrival, the farmer who I believe was the hosts husband, the cows where very polite too.. clean, great heating, felt very safe and I’ll be returning. Nothing it was perfect ♥️
- Sean (10/5): Delightful stay and there were cows!!! - The Caravan was lovely. The little private fenced off garden was a delight as you didn't need to worry about the kids.
However, the best part was when the cows grazed on the land next to the caravan, because you feel like you're in some sort of observation pod Nothing it was a delight.
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Lesley (8/5): Not so stunning - Clean and well appointed Hardly stunning. Container cabin in a field, on a pot holed muddy road that would put most people off. Very draughty through the windows.
- Katharine (7/5): Perfect for what we needed - Peaceful location which suited our needs. A signpost for the house from the farm track would have been helpful as the porch is round the back.
- Andrew (9/5): Short stay - There was plenty of private parking and a large private garden with apple trees. We enjoyed hearing the whistle from the nearby Bluebell Railway. We would have liked black-out linings on the blinds/curtains in the bedrooms.
- YUXING (10/5): - Great house with a beautiful farm around.
- Grit (10/5): Es war eine große Überraschung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und waren beeindruckt von diesem ästhetisch-funktionalen -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): - Everything from the moment we arrived we sadly left There wasn't anything we didn't like
- Jane (8/5): Perfect place to babysit our young grandchild with easy access to a local wedding venue and National Trust properties - It was nicely situated in pleasant countryside with lots of space around the property.. Rebecca was keen to make us comfortable and provided a fan in a very hot period. Drive to the property was bumpy but appreciate this as it was a working farm. Sofa has seen better days.
- Aidan (9/5): Pleasant stay and we would like to come back. - Peacefull and secluded. Nicely laid out with tea, coffee and milk. Nice shower gels, shampoo, etc. Was a hot day, maybe needed a fan.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good - Space for the children to run. Nice and private. Signage for farm
- Bethany (10/5): Cute, cosy and exactly what we needed for our stay. - Lovely little caravan - comfy and cosy. Nice and clean. We attended a wedding around the corner and had to drive four hours to it so it was lovely to get in and have SUCH comfortable beds to roll into after travelling and then again the next night after partying! Easy self check in to make things simple! Also the basics and necessities were provided - we forgot to bring milk and were absolutely overjoyed when we opened the fridge to a new pint of milk sat there and were able to have a cuppa. Such a lovely and peaceful place. Was a little hard to locate due to the small roads/farm and sat nav not taking you directly to the caravan - however hosts let you know this information beforehand and give you further directions so you are aware and can prepare for this. Maybe a sign when to turn into the field where the caravan is might help a little - but as I said, hosts were great at communicating this beforehand ☺️
- Helen (10/5): The host could not have been nicer and more accommodating. - It was clean and rural location
- Joannes (8/5): Relaxed quiet stay - quiet location off the beaten track on a working farm. Excellent WiFi. Welcomed with pint of milk in fridge and a packet of biscuits. The kitchen area is spacious and well equipped. Access is via very uneven track. The bedroom with 2 single beds is very small and the beds themselves are extremely narrow.. ..but then, it's a mobile home.
- Holly (8/5): Very good - It is so peaceful and a really well laid out property. We felt like our toddler was safe to run around and the garden was great (the only let down for that was the weather!). Well kitted out with cutlery and plates etc for our toddler. Really powerful shower which was a lovely surprise ☺️
Great to have a dishwasher too Next time we will bring something to cover the second bedroom window as it gets so bright so early that our toddler woke up at 4/5 every morning. Not the fault of the host as I'm sure an older child would be able to get back to sleep.
- Mark (8/5): Would definitely go again - Nice and quiet location and lots of space outside Sofa was very uncomfortable and track to place very bumpy and no signs anywhere so very hard to find the place
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Location Entrance to site
- Mohamad (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice location,very quite
We enjoyed the place
- Tari (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (10/5): Very peaceful on a fantastic location - Really enjoyed my stay, very peaceful in a fantastic location, really nice area for mountain bike riding on the forest trails
- Fleur (9/5): Lovely, quiet place to stay with welcoming hosts. - Fantastic set up, everything we needed. Quiet and great wildlife viewing. Friendly, helpful hosts. The only criticism we have (and it’s personal preference) but the beds are very firm.
- Gwyneth (8/5): Great place to stay - warm & comfortable! -
- Sara (10/5): Amazing weekend !!!!! - I spent the best weekend ever,I enjoyed the nature and the peace at Mayes Farm, the property was clean and comfy everything is available, Rebecca was very nice and supportive, we get everything we expected, highly recommended and definitely I will be back again 😊😊

- Awheel (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Wonderful - We liked everything. The property was stunning and really well presented. It has everything you need for a lovely break away.
The couple who own the property are truly wonderful and kind. They helped us greatly when our car decided to break down nearby. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
- Steven (9/5): Lovely stay, clean and peaceful -
- Victoria (8/5): Perfect farm getaway! You must say hi to the cows! - Such a cute little caravan tucked away in the farm. Got to see the cows and the baby calfs being fed! Well not that we didn’t like it but it’s on a working farm with cows so there’s the smell. It might bother some people… on the plus side we got to see the cows and the babies!
- Andreas (10/5): Excellent place to stay! Hopefully we will be back :-) - Excellent views. Quiet location. Into the nature. Directions for the venue could have been better. A google map link to the exact location would have been helpful
- Sophie (10/5): Amazing! X - We had a amazing stay was very clean and coasy, the lovely landlord rabecca left us some Maltesers as a welcome what were super yummy thank you , the retreat was very quiet and relaxing. Will definitely be returning!
- Chris (8/5): Quiet out of the way and comfortable - It was quiet and close to where we wanted to be A guide to how to use the dishwasher, hob, central heating etc would have been very useful as we struggled with all of them
- Elena (8/5): Very good - Clean, cosy, super close to 3 national trusts, woods, and fields
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed for a nearby wedding and the location was great. Really nice farm and my kids enjoyed waking up to deer and pheasants outside. The accommodation itself is very nice, very clean and had everything we needed
The host was amazing, helping us out with directions, a later check-in and also let us check-out late which was very helpful.
- Libby (10/5): Exceptional - The layout was perfect and great size! Perfect for our night away with friends! Not something I necessarily disliked but the track to walk down to the property was very muddy.
- Vicky (6/5): Close to my family but the 3 rd person with us had an uncomfortable stay - Good kitchen, farm setting Second bedroom only for small children
Sofa uncomfortable road access almost unusable no signage to property
- Joanne (10/5): A great little find - The lovely little extra touches that the property had . It was also very comfy and warm . Rebecca was also very helpful
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Peaceful, great location Clean, great communication
- Millie (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved my stay on the 20/9. I stayed with me niece and nephew and they were over the moon with the change of scene we needed. A bonus we got to see deer running around it the morning. Rebecca was really helpful with any questions I had and easy to talk to. Only down side was having to leave, should definitely had booked an extra night!
- Bogdan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elena (6/5): Not happy about not changing dates option - The orchard and the view No choices of coffees or tea or any welcome treat for the birthday occasion
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little farm lodge. Very clean and had everything we needed.
Loved the games and puzzles for the kids, beautiful view, saw a family of deer from the window. Was expecting some farm noise but very peaceful and kids excited to see the cows and tractors.
Had a great night sleep and appreciated the tea, coffee, milk etc. Towels were provided. Thank you!
- Kayleigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicky (10/5): The perfect place to de-stress and re-connect to yourself. - Beautifully decorated, fully equipped functional kitchen. Modern bathroom with power shower and plenty of sockets for phone charging & electronics. Outdoor seating and surrounded by nature. Nothing not to like!
- Joshua (10/5): Outstanding one of the best locations and facilities we’ve booked in years! - We booked this amazing property for a few days away to relax and we were not disappointed! If you want complete relaxation, peace and quiet this is the place for you. The photographs do not do it justice! The property itself is spotlessly clean and up to date with everything you need including a fantastic large kitchen. The beds and linens were of very good quality, an amazing nights sleep! Brilliant shower! You get your own private enclosed orchard which was great to watch the sunset across the open fields. Rebecca was able to answer all of our questions and was a great host available to message any time. I regret writing this as I don’t want the secret of this truly wonderful booking to get out but alas others need to enjoy it. Everything you wish for in a rural retreat, utter bliss and perfection glad we discovered this property and we will be returning. Nothing
- Heidi (10/5): A blissful farm retreat - What a perfect little retreat lodge. Rebecca the host went above and beyond. The organic milk left in the fridge was a nice touch as was the tea and coffee, tea towel and washing up sponge. The beds were comfortable with plenty of bedding. Comfortable enough to sleep 4 adults. Missed the turning to the farm but Rebecca was ready on the phone to direct. Lovely farm shop a few minutes drive and a nice pub for food and drink less than 5 minutes drive (The Fox Freehouse) food was delightful. Great stay would stay again.
- Christina (10/5): Beautiful place will definitely stay again - Beautiful get away , clean , quiet , everything you needed and Rebecca was brilliant always on the over end of the phone if you needed her , Absolutely noting
