• Stephen (9/5): Excellent location with modern room & great hospitality. - Excellent location, modern room with Elena host & Ms Kyriaki house keeping, couldn’t do enough to help and make our stay as perfect as possible, also breakfast hosted by the hotel El Greco opposite was excellent. 😀 Nothing.

La chambre était petite mais on pouvait circuler. Le petit déjeuner était vraiment nul, mais il dépendait d’un autre hôtel ( même chose chaque jour, aliments froids…j’en passe)

• Gonçalo (10/5): Charming Hotel - I’d really like to highlight the hotel’s location, right in the heart of Chania city center. The hotel itself is very impressive, with great attention to detail that truly gives it a boutique hotel feel. The hotel manager was fantastic and super friendly, a genuinely engaging person who recommended some great places to eat and enjoy a drink. The rooms were also very spacious and comfortable. Both Deluxe and Superior rooms As for breakfast, it’s served in another hotel just across the street. It’s simple, but has all the essentials you need to start the day. Overall, I can say it’s a very cosy and charming hotel, and we really enjoyed our stay.

• Simon (9/5): Better than staying right on the harbour - high quality in an upscale street with a local feel - Casa Modiano is a great place to stay for a few days visit to Chania. Its very close to the old harbour situated in a smart street just a few steps away from the more crowded areas. There are a few hotels, and bars and boutiques as well as local shops and the lovely Kormoranos local bakery/cafe right outside. The rooms are high quality and very comfortable, albeit compact, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast is provided across the street in the El Greco Hotel and it was very good. If you have a room at the front with a tiny balcony then there's bound to be a little noise from the street below at night, especially as local people tend to sit and chat outside the cafe below - but it wasn't all that disturbing

Elena at reception couldn’t have been more helpful. A wonderful breakfast is served in the hotel opposite (literally 10 paces away!!) with everything you could possibly want to eat, both hot and cold. A fabulous stay with nothing negative report! Thank you! There was nothing to not like.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Charged 5 euros for losing a key despite a broken chair which wasn’t replaced. 10% discount in neighbouring restaurant not given

The request was approved however not done . When l asked why l received this messsge "Good afternoon. Regarding your request, the beds could normally be separated, but at the moment there’s a top mattress (topper) on them that we can’t remove. For your comfort, we’ve prepared the bed with two individual sheets so it’s more convenient for two people. Thank you so much for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy a pleasant stay.". After l insisted that this was not acceptable Mrs. Anna was sent to rectify the situation. Not a good first impression of management.

• Stewart (8/5): An elegant hotel and excellent staff, but not ideal for a couple. - We were very well taken care of by the management, who were responsive and immediately helpful whenever we had questions or needs. The breakfast was delicious. The interior design of the building is modern and elegant, and the room had a big bed and large windows and a little balcony overlooking the charming street. The location is right in the heart of old town Chania, but avoids the crowds around the harbour. The room (deluxe double with sea view) is very pretty but rather small, and is better suited for one person, but not really adequate for two people with a moderate amount of luggage and clothing. There was limited space (and hangars) to hang shirts and pants, and that was on an exposed rake rather than a closet or armoir. Only one towel bar in the shower area to hang a bath towel, and so the other towel had to be hung in the bedroom. The sink was in the room, and again, no towel bar for the hand towel. We had to do a lot of improvising!

De ligging was ideaal, alles wat je nodig had was op wandelafstand. We kregen elke dag nieuwe flesjes water, wat heel attent was. Het ontbijt was heel erg lekker!

The stairs are very difficult with luggage.

• mimbriago (10/5): Fabuloso - La ubicación es fabulosa por la cercanía al centro y por lo bonita que es la calle. Desde allí pude ir caminando al bus station para ir a Elafonissi y a Heraklion. Caminando se recorre el centro y el puerto viejo. El desayuno en un restaurante de enfrente es muy lindo también y el hotel se ve muy agradable. La chica que lo atiende es muy amable. No hay nada que no me haya gustado. Reconozco que la habitación es pequeña para dos personas pero yo viajé sola y no fue inconveniente. Todo fabuloso!

• Nalan (8/5): - I really liked the view from the balcony and the room's decor. The staff was also very friendly! Unfortunately, my room was on the first floor, right next to the stairs, so you could clearly hear the footsteps of other guests, especially as they reached the top. Since the room is directly in front of the stairwell and the balcony faces a street with cafés and other activity, it might not be ideal if you're sensitive to noise. The sink was clogged and the coffee cups were dirty, but the staff was very friendly and quickly resolved these minor issues.

• Sinéad (10/5): - Beautiful rooms in Chania. Massive comfortable bed! Lovely Vegan Society approved toiletries, fluffy towels and reassuring communications from reservations. The breakfast was delicious and the service was impeccable. The lovely lady in the restaurant also looked after reception and provided exceptional service. Everything was perfect.

It made our stay in Chania perfect because of location, comfort and cleanliness.The staff ,especially the young smiling ,helpful receptionist stepped up-to the challenge of meeting our every need. • Jesper (10/5): Perfect stay in Chania with the best host! - Great location in the old town, within easy walking distance to everything, including the beach. The street is quiet, yet lined with charming restaurants, cafés and shops. The facilities were excellent, and Judy was an incredibly friendly and accommodating host who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was delicious, could maybe have opened a bit earlier than 8:30 to suit early tour schedules. Overall, highly recommended, we would definitely return.
