- Charlotte (8/5): - La chambre est petite mais très fonctionnelle et propre. La salle de bain commune est un peu vétuste mais fonctionne bien et n’est pas salle. Pour le prix c’est très rentable.
- Cristina (5/5): - Confortable bed I had difficulty even finding this place, as there is no clear sign outside. It seems to be a mix between a tourist information desk and a small bar, and that’s where I first met the staff.
The room itself is located just a couple of meters behind the restaurant counter, which is very different from what is shown or described online. There is no inner patio as advertised, and the overall setup feels quite misleading.
It’s also quite noisy, as the windows are very close to the main road, and the door does not close properly, which affects both privacy and comfort.
Breakfast was another issue: I was told it would be available from 8am, but there was no one there until around 9am. When it was served, it was very basic and with no gluten-free options.
Overall, the experience did not match the description and expectations
- Janet (7/5): Great value for an AC room but lady looking after the place unhelpful. - Very good value if you want somewhere cheap. Its air-conditioned too. Handy location. Yappy dog next door and the lady in cafe looking after the place not very helpful when I was sick and needed coconuts bringing. She said not available. Also the A/C gadget got stuck and for whole day and night so I couldn't change the temperature. She said i should speak to her boss but I had no idea how to contact her boss. The next day she put me on to the phone to her boss then gave me one from another room. A day too late. Its ok for a short stay especially for your own AC room for that price, but dont ask for anything and you won't be disappointed.
- Yilmaz (7/5): - Comfortable bed, good ac Minimal breakfast after 9am, traffic noise, toilet door noisy to close

- Akhirul (10/5): - Cleanest linnen ,smell good, the room small but cozy ,staff is so helpfull good breakfast worthit with the prize,my favorite one in amed ,thank you

- Seamus (10/5): - The location was perfect, right next to an atm, laundry, convenience store. It is your own private room with AC for the same price you would pay for a dorm bed. Also breakfast is included!! I extended my stay cause I loved the place and the owner is so friendly. Only negative thing I can say is that there’s no grab in Amed but you don’t need it cause everything is in walking distance.
- Nhu (10/5): Great for the price. - The staff is very friendly and helped us book further travel! Be sure to bring your own toiletries (soaps). Good WiFi. I was able to upload videos. Hot water worked in the left bathroom to your left. I couldn’t get the water in the bathroom to the right to work.
- Olve Gjevik (1/5): Unique Experience. - Good location, private room. First of all the sheets were extremely dirty, on top of that the whole bed was covered in hair. Athough the room was claned 5m prior. Somehow even after trying to get rid of the hair for 20min i kept finding more 2 nights later. After the first night Ants was comming from the ceiling and walls behind the bed, and there was a cockroach nest under the bed with plenty of dead ones. Also woke up to one crawling around. I do think i got unlucky and got the smallest room. After 2 nights with all this i asked for a room change but wasent possible. Left early, no partial refund.

- Daniel (9/5): Very happy and good value for money. Would stay agan. - Rooms are good. Location is great. Staff are great. The shared bathroom facilities could be maintained a bit better and cleaned more.

- Vigne (8/5): - Pour la rapport qualité prix je trouve qu’il n’y a rien à dire pour 7 e la nuit La femme du propriétaire est adorable par contre son mari on repassera, pas du tout agréable.
- Cristina (5/5): Correcte per estada curta - L'habitació i el llit estan be. L'amabilitat del personal i el menjar correcte. L'habitació està a prop de la carretera i se senten les motos i els cotxes. Per una nit està be.
- Jordan (9/5): - Dewi the hostess is wonderful. The place is cheap and sufficient for 1 or 2 backpackers. Private room at a hostel dorm price. Cafe is great.
- oceane (10/5): Very good place, cozy and friendly staff - Cute room Nothing
- Jordan (9/5): For the price, it doesn't get any better than this. Wonderful hostesses and a comfortable simple rm - Dewi, the hostess, is wonderful. The room is simple and sufficient. The shared bathroom is nothing fancy, but it has what you need. You're here because it's cheap, not for luxury. The AC works well in your room. The cafe (my home office) is steps away — with great, cheap homemade food.
Wifi works excellent. Everyone who works here is a sweetheart. For the price, what more can you ask for ? They truly make me feel at home.
Thank you Dewi and the rest of the Backpackers Home / Moon Cafe staff. Suksema mewali. You make me feel at home. Because of proximity to the road, there is some noise at times. But it's not near the dogs that bark all night, just a block or two away near Poke Bowl Amed. I put on a little music and sleep just fine — and I'm an insomniac !
- Matias (8/5): I really liked this place. I stayed in a private room and shared the bathroom, which was very spacious and had a good sh -
- Jordan (9/5): The best budget short-term stay I have found in Amed, after staying in four places and visiting 15+ - Dewi, the hostess, is wonderful. She is always smiling and welcoming, gracious, kind, and helpful. She and her small team of staff were all lovely.
The room is sufficient and comfortable, though small. For the price of a shared dormitory, it's a huge bargain. I only checked out because it was full. I'll stay one night elsewhere, pay more for a less clean place without a cafe or friendly hosts, and return as soon as it's available again. The garden is getting a little overgrown, so cut back the ones that block the path to the rooms, please — one in particular has thorns that caught on me.
- Alex (8/5): Great value for money - Pretty sweet accomodation for the price. Great location, friendly staff and basic free breakfast. Definitely can't complain for the price. I would come back again for sure! Like I said, value for money was great. Parking was slightly tight for scooters. Good luck if you have a car 🙃. Oh, the bathroom latch and lock for the streetside bathroom was a little tight.
- Hongdou (7/5): Good - the location is very good, the owner is very warm, the room is clean and has AC. The bathroom needs to be cleaned
- Nina (8/5): Very good -
- Schaefer (5/5): Passable - Host was nice. Ants or something like that in bed. Shower broken. No towels until late on second day. No breakfast on second day. Host didn’t show up before we left at 9;15. Loud traffic noise.
- Julia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Astrid (9/5): Amazing!:) - The host Dewi is such a lovely person! And you get the most amazing pancakes for breakfast 😍 the hosts can also give good tips for Amed, and you get a good location and comfortable room!! Highly recommended
- Novia (9/5): Superb -
- Marta (7/5): Good - Great position and very nice and clean room, with comfortable and clean beds and ac
the lady working there was always nice and available The male owner did not treat us nicely and was not honest with us, he make us pay a day of scooter rent even if we didn’t use the scooter and was not friendly when discussing this inconvenience
- Oceane (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place, nice people Nothing I like all
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chevolero (10/5): Exceptional -
- Till (7/5): Decent place for a good price - Decent place. Your own room, which is very small, for a very good price and a nice menu for breakfast and not only pancake. The faucet on the only sink is in a very bad condition. Hardly any water coming out.
- Pranjali (10/5): Exceptional - Great place
- Tomi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (8/5): Really cheap to have your own room ! Everything was nice, but expect noise from the street as it is close by. -
- Soufiane (1/5): Bad - Location was not bad Stains all over the bed sheet, with the door barely holding.
- Gregor (7/5): Good -
- Kimberly (9/5): I recommend this stay for solo traveller or couple - The bedroom was clean with aircon it’s perfect because in Bali it’s hot during the night !
The people were very kind and helpful !! Thank you :)
The breakfast every morning was very nice Maybe the noise during the night because it’s close to the road but it’s Bali so you need to get air plug to sleep.
Maybe put one hang out for clothes in the bedroom
- María (9/5): I recommend this place 100% - The room was perfect! The location is very nice. The stuff is amazing, very friendly!
- Alexia (9/5): Superb - Room was clean and very comfortable bed. AC worked well. Staff really friendly. There is a restaurant in front of the hotel, that is really good. I notice that it's a quite common thing in Indonesia, rooms clean, but toilets really dirty. They just clean with water and there are stains in the toilet, that makes it smelly. Missing a hanger in the room for the towels.
- Gunawan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leeba (7/5): Friendly staff, good value, simple w/shared bathroom. - Simple but effective accommodation. Shared bathroom, which is cleaned daily. Very helpful and nice staff. Good value. AC was sooo worthwhile. The lighting in the rooms was a little abrasive and the small lamp in ours was broken but those are small complaints. Although close to the beach there isn’t direct access.
- Stefan (8/5): Very good - Nice people, comfortable bed, the room is nice. The only sink is very minimal, I found it hard to clean my teeth. Drinking water would be nice, too :)
- Loren (8/5): Very good -
- Davina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Slavik (7/5): Good - Really small room but it's cheap Shared bathroom
- Slavik (7/5): Good - Its the cheapest option with shared bathroom. Small place to sleep with air-conditioning Room is too small. Shover not so comfortable and no hot water
- Woodrow (8/5): Very good -
- Shira (7/5): Good - Good location
Friendly Very small room
A bit noise from the street
- Purnama (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Best value for money probably in whole Amed! The place was so nice I ended up staying longer. The room was really clean, private and spacious for one person. Never had to wait my turn to the toilet or shower. Staff friendly and super helpful. They helped me arrange a ride to the next place even though there were no shuttle buses going there the next morning. Food was also really good for the price! Would recommend! Can be really loud if you like to go to bed early
- Malik (4/5): Disappointing - The staff at the hostel were lovely and helpful The owner was very rude to a change in circumstances - we had a family emergency and had to cut our stay short and he became one of the top 3 most disrespectful people I had met in 3months of travel... thats really saying something
- Tadeja (7/5): Good - Price Very dirty toillet, very small room
- Douglas (8/5): Very good -
- Léo (10/5): Exceptional - To have a double room with breakfast for this price, this is just amazing. Hosts really nice !
- Dalia (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (7/5): Cheap - no thrills - The room was clean, good air con , bed was nice and comfortable - despite the negatives I would stay here again as the price is very cheap. The bathrooms weren’t the cleanest, both toilet seats were broken && this has been brought up on previous reviews months ago and has still not been fixed. One shower had okay water pressure the other was terrible. The girls running it weren’t about much, and one of evenings when we got back late they informed us they wouldn’t be there for breakfast so gave us a cold toasty to eat in the morning. ( we ate it that evening because who wants cold toast made the evening before for breakfast?) && tbh the breakfast was okay but certainly the smallest free breakfast I’ve experience on our trip so far.
- Claudia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cz (8/5): Very good -
- Joanna (7/5): Good - Clean and comfy bed, AC, clean showers, nice staff and small breakfast indluded Location just next to main road so it's a bit loud. There is only door with glass in front of everybody so when you keep curtains closed it's a bit claustrophobic because there are no other windowds
- Ronja (10/5): Exceptional - the staff was very friendly! the room and bathroom were clean. very good for the price and we would definitely come back (:
- Anis (8/5): Very good -
- Abi (9/5): Get more than what you pay for - Very affordable and wonderful hospitality..
Neat room, exceeded my expectations of what 90k per night gets you.
Definitely recommended to anyone traveling under a strict budget. Water pressure was a tad bit low but enough to have a proper shower.
- Eduard (9/5): stayed only one night, friendly staff, very good price for no thrills private room - price some stains on bed sheets, small lamp not working
- Matthew (10/5): Five Stars - I loved this place! I stayed longer then I planned because I liked it so much, would definitely stay there again if I went back. The sisters that run the place are so nice and everything they cook is amazing! There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like about the property
- Sydney (8/5): Very good -
- Lennert (9/5): Superb - Simple, and perfect. The food was great, staff super friendly. /
- Eric (10/5): Amazing value and service with clean big room! - Such a clean room, washroom, came with everything I needed and more! Awesome breakfast presentstion all for such a good value! Honestly, perfect stay!
- Agnieszka (8/5): Very good - Helpful lovely hosts, good location, comfortable bed, small but really tasty breakfast.
Really good value for money. Rooms are very small and don't have windows, which feels a bit claustrophobic. And on the night I was the only guest it didn't feel particularly safe (the rooms and bathrooms are accessible from open area, almost straight from the street, just hidden behind the restaurant)
- Cedric (8/5): Very good - Nice fishing tour provided by the guest, provide valuable advice! Room a little bit small, but still ok
- Nick (7/5): Good -
- Aleah (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing. They were so attentive and friendly. I miss them!
- Karis (10/5): Lovely, warm family and clean cozy rooms! - The family of Backpackers Home Amed is just amazing. They are the sweetest, most welcoming people!
The location is wonderful, you are right at the beach and in the middle of the centre of Amed filled with bars, restaurants, diving spots…
The room is very clean, and there is a little spot with beanbags in front of your room, fun to hang out!
Great WiFi ! As seen in previous reviews, the water pressure of the shared bathroom indeed isn’t amazing. But with a bit a patience it is possible to even wash your hair ;-) So it’s really not a big deal.
- Jacqueline (7/5): Good -
- Fernanda (7/5): Great room behind a little restaurant on the main street. Simple but perfect for a few nights - Very good price for a comfortable bed, lots of restaurants around. Lots of noise coming from the street, not the best shower pressure but still good for the price we paid
- Bert (9/5): Superb -
- Kaushal (9/5): Great value for money! Highly recommended - Great location, close to my dive shop. Good warung right in front of my room - called Moonshine cafe. The owners were great and very warm. My room size was slightly small compared to the other rooms. But for IDR 90,000 it was amazing
- Typhaine (9/5): this was great the food at the restaurant perfect and the room too - the host was so nice ! thank to them for scooter and kindness nothing ! Maybe the shower pressure could be best
- Britt (9/5): very comfortable and very cheap - very clean and very cheap. breakfast was included. nice big bed and airconditioning. Shower had no pressure, washing my hair was impossible. The portions of the restaurant/breakfast were too small and the quality was ‘okay’. no free drinking water available.
- Aislin (10/5): A wonderful stay in central Amed! Highly recommend! - What a wonderful place! We absolutely loved our stay here. It's not a traditional hostel because there are no dorms. Instead, there are a few private rooms with large, comfy beds and a lockable wardrobe. The room was very clean and very comfortable. AC worked great. Tasty breakfast. You can't beat the location either. The family that owns Backpackers are amazing, friendly, and kind people. We greatly enjoyed chatting with them! The owner's daughters play guitar and sing beautifully, and we loved singing along in the evening. Nothing!
- Amelie (10/5): Exceptional - Good location, next to the beach. Very friendly staff. Host organize transports. Room small but enough to sleep. Very good food at their restaurant. Water pressure in the shower was really weak.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Fantastic warm friendly family run buisness in the centre of the diving and snorkeling capital Amed. Great food served at the restaurant and breakfast available too for staying guests
- Lyekit (7/5): Good - It's ok to stay here. None
- Natalie (8/5): Great location for Amed area. - Great hosts, clean room and very nice veg omelette for breakfast. I guess it can not be helped but the chickens next door are very noisy all through the night which is not ideal if you want some rest before an early start in morning.
- Netta (8/5): Very good -
