Guest Reviews
- Paul (10/5): - Getting into the unit was really easy. The location was amazing, and we loved the hot tub!
- Lily (3/5): Disappointing. We left at midnight and drove home. - Lovely view. Close to town. 2 person Hot tub motor just outside bedroom door was noisy and ran all night.
Door to hot tub deck does not have a window cover.
Skylights have blinds but we had to climb on a chair to shut them.
Pillows were too firm.
There were black ants crawling around.
Key for door did not work.
- Patricia (10/5): - Loved the view of Georgian Bay and how private the unit was. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus.
- Taylor (10/5): - My wife and I booked the King suite with hot tub. The host sent a perfectly written email about where to go when you arrive and how the check in and check out works. There's also a guest book inside that gives you many of things to do once you've arrived. The view is absolutely amazing, it was very quiet and peaceful. Privacy was respected and we felt like we were the only ones around! There's a diner down the street that has amazing food. We came back after dinner and enjoyed the hot tub for a couple of hours, it was very clean and well maintained. The bed was so comfortable, we had an amazing sleep. Check out was a breeze and we will most certainly be coming back again soon!
- Suzanne (3/5): -
- Gregory (6/5): Close to our event - Comfortable bed Space is very tired and needs work. Bathroom faucet leaks.
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Kinjal (9/5): -
- Larraine (10/5): Would recommend to friends. - This is not a bed and breakfast any more. The location was great to hiking trails and downtown. Such a small thing but I thought there would be ice available for mixed drinks.
- Deepti (8/5): - View was wonderful Bed is little uncomfortable
- Korri (10/5): Cute spot for a quiet getaway. - Very cute and nice view. Very quiet and relaxing. No drinking water available.
- Jim (9/5): Excellent except the safety concerns noted above - Location We are nearly 75 years old. ( 2. Safety concerns. ) A better walk way from the parking area to the lower unit would be safer ( The grass would be treacherous when wet.) Gravel or stone dust would be ok. It wasn’t a problem for us because we were home early. but the outside lights turned off around 11:00 pm it would have been dangerous for us getting to our unit with no exterior lights. Other than that the place was perfect. We hope to come again
- Masha (7/5): Nice for a short getaway from the city, but due to the poor noise cancellation felt overpriced. - We thought the view was very nice and it was great to be away from the city. Nice things to do in the area. It was big and offered a lot of space to move around. Coffee and tea supplied and appreciated. There was poor noise cancellation. We could hear either other guests or the hosts steps from above early in the morning or late at night. It took away from the feeling of a weekend alone. There wasn’t anywhere to clean the dishes except for the bathroom.
- KE (9/5): This is an old house, so cannot expect it has very modern facility. But wifi has strong signal, view is magnificent, own - The view is fantastic! The only con is that facility is kind of old.
- Jenn (10/5): An absolutely lovely and affordable escape - The room was cozy with an unbelievable view. The king bed was so comfy, the bedding luxurious and a lovely assortment of teas and coffee for us to enjoy in the morning.
The suites are just outside of downtown Meaford. It's an absolutely lovely town with fantastic and restaurants ( highly recommend the Leaky Canoe).
Irish Mountain Suites is a hidden gem and I can't wait to go back!
- Ishrak (10/5): - The view from the property specifically the sunrise view is amazing. Recommended in fall There was no water supply overnight. Apart from this everything was perfect.
- Sheila (10/5): We just had 1 night as part of a tour. Perfect! - Comfortable, quirky, great hot tub. Nothing!
- Divya (9/5): -
- Leonard (7/5): Enjoyed the stay; we were a bit surprised that it's not a bed and breakfast, having packed with that - Location. It's really lovely. Easy distance to Meaford and interesting sights. The unit looks a bit tired. Bulb missing in the bathroom, leaving an empty socket. Advertised hot tub jets not functional and taped over. Bathroom tap leaks around the base. Chair rungs are loose. Dollar store drinking glasses still had dollar Store labels on them. It's all repairable, and if done would improve the place significantly.
- David (9/5): -
- patricia (9/5): -
- Catherine E (9/5): - Gorgeous location. Relaxing hot tub that seems like it is in a tree house. All dreamers tried curdled the coffee till we gave up.
- Scarlettb (9/5): - Great location. Quiet, lovely view, peaceful. Short drive to whatever else you need!
- Deanna (9/5): Great expectations were met! - Very quiet, clean location. The bed was very comfy and the view spectacular. Coffee and cream was an added touch!
- Linda (8/5): - Good location and great views Outside light burnt out
- Pierre (4/5): It was quiet - It was only after we booked the Bed and Breakfast, and after the time we could cancel, and get our money back, that we were informed that they no longer served breakfast and we could not access the pool. The place was clean, however, it looked tired. The hot tub had a very strong chlorine smell....didn't use it.
The deck and chairs were dirty.
We had an earwig on the wall, had to kill it (I know it's the country).
It was not worth $259.90 - never go back
- Megan (8/5): -
- Ramon (9/5): Charming, quiet, up in the hill overlooking the lake. - Although we just stayed here for a night and spent most of the day in town, we were able to relax in its sunroom. We had a good view of the stars that night, and watched the sunrise the following day. The bed and pillows are of hotel standard. They are comfortable and soft. The whole unit is clean and well-thought of. The only downside is that you could hear the footsteps from the unit above. (Likely, next time we will book that instead.) By the way, I wonder if there is a hummingbird in the property coz I think I saw one.
- Nancy (10/5): Quiet and private - Excellent unit, total privacy, this is the unit, one of two, that is located in a separate building, although on the second floor. You must be prepared to carry your stuff up quite a few stairs. Very clean, offers not only air conditioning unit, but also a fireplace and outdoor hot tub on that second level. Views are spectacular. We were allowed early entry to dress for a late afternoon wedding. Not much, we were only there one night. It is on a dead end gravel road but not very far off the paved road.
- Nabajit (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): We spent our 18th anniversary and loved it! - Great view with private hot tub.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ted (10/5): Exceptional - The location was excellent. The guest suite was very comfortable and quiet. The suite was cold when we arrived it took a bit to heat up to normal temperature. There is no sink to wash dishes or filling a coffee maker.
- Shelagh (7/5): Very beautiful scenery but can be pretty noisy - Very beautiful scenery and an amazing two person tub. The view from our room was incredible The room we had was the walkout basement of the main house so we often heard people loudly running above us or children crying in the early morning or evening.
- Gary (7/5): Good - Privacy.
Leaky Canoe.
Ted's
Hot tub Great as usual except for the military training exercises that occurred thru the whole weekend.
Cannon fire never heard staying there before!
- Orlando (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeanette (8/5): Very good -
- Nora (8/5): Some disappointments, but the view was great. We enjoyed our stay very much. - Although it was advertised as a bed and breakfast in all locations, the information received after booking, said that it was now an airb&d, whatever that is. There was no breakfast, but we found a great diner downtown. The wifi said no service. We used our own data
The jacuzzi wasn’t working
We did not meet the staff
- Sherri (8/5): Overall great place to stay and great price! - Hot tub was great! Very clean room, and great view. Bed was ok for comfort. Pillows could be upgraded.
- Howzer (9/5): Beautiful property in an ideal location. Great value. - This was a beautiful location on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the bay. Views from the property were amazing. Privacy and access was easy. The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Quiet and peaceful. Hot tub was hot and ready. We went in peak fall colour season. Colours were great. Room value was very good. We spent a fair bit of time relaxing on the attached deck just enjoying the fresh air and forest smells. We got the room with the hot tub. The jets only had one setting which were on low all the time and not adjustable. The temperature was fine, but a bit hot for my wife and could not be adjusted down. The view from the room is a bit obstructed by long grasses and the main house, but the bay is quite visible. We watched the sun rise from our room. There are spaces on the property to sit outside, but we were not aware of them until we were leaving.
- Lance (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Great view - Excellent view. Quiet. Easy to locate. Good size room. Would have liked to have a kitchen size sink to be able to wash dishes. A hotplate or small counter top toaster oven would have been a nice addition to the mini fridge and microwave oven. I understand that the 10 am checkout is the usual for this type of rental but would have preferred later like 11 am.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Schlingmann (7/5): Good - The room was clean and spacious. Exceptional view. The grounds were clean as well.. Should have a dimmer switch or a cozy lamp for the light in the main sitting area. Coffee was plenty with sugar but why no cream?
- Scarlettb (9/5): Beautiful, serene unit with everything you need! - Loved the location, beautiful spot. Clean, efficient unit with everything we needed. Serene, comfortable, private. Will definitely stay here again. Private hot tub was lovely and much enjoyed. Would be even better with controls for temperature and jets.
- Hani.b.osman (8/5): Very good -
- Freddy (9/5): Superb - View of lake and surrounding area
Roomy
Spacious bathroom, including jacuzzi tub and stand-up shower
Separate sitting area with couch Fairly minor points:
Bathroom had weird assortment - 3 lotions, 1 body wash, 2 conditions, but no shampoo. Friend in another room had no body wash but everything else. Pretty easy to fix
View from room partially obscured due to vegetation (was on bottom floor)
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - The place was quiet. Easy to find. We liked the view. Lots of light in the space. Nice outdoor space. Toiletries were supplied. Keurig and kettle were good to have. The rooms could be numbered or named. It would be good to provide powdered cream for coffee and tea.
- Shah (1/5): Don’t go here its not worth the money you pay and will grt a bad treatment from the owners as well - The view We waited an hour to get to our room since instructions weren’t clear which room to go to. There was no body wash, face wash, toothpaste and had to make many calls/msgs to the owner and got them the next day so we couldn’t shower that day at all after so much of travel. We weren’t able to turn on the AC after 11pm which isn’t mentioned in the booking amenities. The shower head and hot water tap was broken which we had to adjust to get hot water in the shower. Her cleaner trashed the room and sent a video to the owner saying we did that. She stole a plate and blamed it on us. They think we paid for a room so we’ll steal 1 plate which makes no sense at all.
- Laura (9/5): Would recommend as it is a hidden gem. - The room and bathroom was big and clean, view amazing. Nice that all the rooms were a little different. Outdoor space with deck very nice to enjoy a glass of wine. Provide some milk or cream for coffee in the morning. The room names were confusing when you get the directions to check in. Suggest adding a clarifying number to the name if it can't be changed.
- Harjeet (9/5): Superb -
- Theresa (8/5): Wonderful! - Location-private and beautiful view Nothing
- Lydia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): We came, we enjoyed hot tub, we watched TV, we slept, we woke, we left - Quiet, the view AC cover fell off, but clups were wore out
- A (8/5): Very good - Spectacular view
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (7/5): Good - The gardens and views of the bay. Spacious with separate living and bedroom Too hot in living room due to gas fireplace pilot light throwing too much heat. Should not be on in summer
- Frank (7/5): Good - Sitting area.Small fridge.Large bathroom with shower and tub Had to go down a grassy slope to get to the room.Carrying bag etc.Glad it wasn't raining as I'm sure it would be even more slippery. No outside light when returning after dark.Pethaps they want to maintain a dark sky policy but low level lights might be worth consideration. The famous view (as advertised )is becoming obscured by trees and shrubs that need to be trimmed back.No welcoming touches in the room.ie coffee and tea pods and sugar provided but no milk
- Connie (7/5): Good - This property was advertised as a Bed and breakfast yet I found out days before my stay that there would be no breakfast offered. Booking.com showed a pool yet I found out days before my stay that there would be no access to a pool. This was rather disappointing to me as I specifically looked for a play to stay that was Bed and Breakfast which offered a pool. I feel that Booking.com misrepresented this property. The air conditioning may as well have not been running as there was no cool air coming from it. The fireplace this time of year did not need the pilot light on adding to the heat of the suite. Otherwise, it was clean and appealing. See above comment
- Deepika (9/5): The stay was rejuvenating! - The instructions from the host were very helpful. The location and the views are amazing. Every spot in the property is scenic. Could have stayed for days. The hot tub was all set up and ready for us. Pillows were a little worn out (gave us stiff necks). Keurig probably needed descaling (not an issue though because you have multiple coffee shops very close by)
- Karen (9/5): We were completely relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, it was a first for my partner. - It's not a B&B anymore so that was disappointing but that was easily rectified. The room, the grounds, private hot tub were great, we really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend. One of the questions asked was staff, there is no staff, the family do live on the property but we had no cause to contact them while there. The only complaint was our room was adjoined to the owners living area, they have young children and a dog so we did hear them, not often though. The room could use more towel racks for drying, that's it for complaints.
- Diaz (8/5): The place was clean and nice, the view wasn’t as show es on the pictures because the suite is on the back of the main ho - It is quiet and peaceful, the jacuzzi and room was clean and all the amenities where as advertised The location of the actual suite is confusing, they could improve the instructions on how to get to your suite. The mane of the suite in my reservation was different from the one they sent on the directions so it got confusing. They should send you the description of your suite only and name tag the doors of the each suite for clarity
- Mary (9/5): Breathtaking views with a comfortable room. - The location is amazing. Breathtaking views. Confusion as to where our room was.
- Joseph (6/5): We enjoyed the room and the serenity. The view and the price was affordable. Need to update your w - We liked the room and the view was amazing. Hot tub was comfy. Having a mini fridge and microwave was awesome!!! Bed could of been more comfy. The couch sank down when sat on. No use of the pool when booking said it was included. No breakfast when booking said it was included. No fan in the room, just a heater. Need more clarity on rooms. Need numbers on rooms would be more helpful and efficient.
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Aziz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (4/5): Disappointing - The view is great and location No one is there to ask about anything. There wasn't any sugar or creamer for coffee. The coffee machine and kettle were in bad shape. The bathtub had a stripped tap. The pillows were horrible. This is our fourth time there. We always loved it but it doesn't look like it's being looked after anymore. We were very disappointed.
- Cherie (8/5): Very good - Beautiful view and nice room. Great location out of the way and quiet. The room was very drafty and chilly. Fell on the first night walking to our unit as the path was snow-covered and slippery. We had to do our own snow removal of our walkway, and no salt provided
We booked a room with hottub but we're unable to turn on the jets
- A (3/5): Don't come here - The view was nice, the bed was big and comfortable The TV was way too small, the hot tub wasn't worth it, and it started itching after 2 mins of me staying in there. Red everywhere.
- Scott (10/5): An amazing stay that will be repeated again soon. - The fresh air and atmosphere was great and well needed. The view opened up for us in the morning and was amazing, we would have booked a second night right then to take it in if the suite would have been available, but we knew it was likely already taken! The suite was clean and quiet and a relaxing place to kick back. The owners of this property know how to run an operation and it is evident upon check in. We will be back for sure.
