Guest Reviews
- Roger (10/5): - Beautifully presented cottage, comfortable with everything you need. Nothing
- Grace (8/5): - Larger than expected, easy parking on the road outside- welcome gift! Very comfortable beds The shower had fairly low pressure and the towels are on the small side.
- JULIA EMMA LUCY (9/5): Cosy cottage with lovely ambience for short break with family. - Very clean accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the cottage was. The lounge was cosy. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped.
We enjoyed playing darts, although we think the darts there might need replacing soon.
We had a lovely relaxing stay over the Christmas break with our grown-up daughters. We would be keen to book a stay there again. One of the fuses in the kitchen appliances needed replacing. We didn't feel the need to report this to the owner until after our stay but when we reported it to the owner, he responded confirming he would attend to this promptly.
- Louise (9/5): Overall a comfortable, peaceful property - It was a lovely peaceful location Parking outside was almost impossible because of other vehicles (tractors) needing to pass - but we were able to park in the car park of the pub opposite. It was a shame that the pub was closed on the Monday/Tuesday of our stay, but it did mean we could park there and not feel as though we were taking up space from pub patrons.
- Geof (6/5): We were annoyed there was only 1 actual bathroom. Small room downstairs has a toilet & wash basin. - The cottage was a short walk from The Bubble Inn where we ate on the evening of our arrival.
Very good, bright, modern, clean kitchen.
Cottage was welcoming inside and the owners' instructions which we received beforehand were useful. We booked this cottage for 2 couples because it was advertised as having 2 bathrooms. When holidaying with our friends we always choose a property with 2 bathrooms.
The description on the website is misleading. Quote as follows:
"About this property
Comfortable Accommodation: Chapel Street Cottage in Coton in the Elms offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The property features a fully equipped kitchen, private bathrooms, and a cosy living area with a fireplace."
Please note, a bathroom is a room with a bath. This property has a bathroom upstairs, and a downstairs toilet/WC.
The narrow street made unloading and loading of luggage more difficult. We were thankful we were able to park off street in the Bubble Inn car park.
- Insharah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (10/5): It was a lovely couple of days, the cottage was perfect for what we wanted. Bottle of Prosecco in the fridge waiting whi - Lovely little cottage, had every thing we needed Nothing
- Zoë (10/5): Gorgeous cottage in a really peaceful area! - The cottage was absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. It’s beautifully decorated, very comfortable and to be honest, I’m gutted we were only there for two nights! That we didn’t book for longer!
- Leonie (10/5): Having such a beautiful place to stay made my wedding even more memorable. Magic! Thank you so much - Everything, it was perfect. Not much parking but that’s because it’s on a beautiful quiet little street - there is a pub car park over the road
- Ed (10/5): It would have been great to have stayed longer! - This property was ideal for our stay. It's a shame we weren't able to make better use of the facilities. One minor annoyance was that the pub over the road continued playing fairly loud music until about midnight on Saturday.
- Clive (9/5): Superb -
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Lovely cottage in a great location Would have been useful to have a spare front door key as we mislaid the key in the house. We were going to a wedding and couldn't get out of the front door!
- Amanda (9/5): home from home with every facility - Quiet pretty lane location near very nice pub (bubble inn)
lots of cooking facilities
comfy bed
netflix on tv no parking outside, lane too narrow would have been dangerous but pub car park 20 yards away was great
- Louise (8/5): Perfect bolt hole especially if attending wedding at The Hidden Hive🥰 - Lovely cottage in a very pretty village.
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything the cottage was perfect
- Webb (8/5): Character cottage in Derbyshire - The cottage had a lovely character, and being 3 bedrooms meant both our daughters had their own room, now they are getting older. It was very comfortable, and they loved the dart board. It needed a little more attention to detail with cleanliness.
- Dan (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (10/5): Lovely well appointed cottage, highly recommended. - What a beautiful cottage. Very well appointed with everything that we needed for our stay. Very clean and comfortable. Great location for excursions to Twycross Zoo and Lichfield. Loved the dart board!! Good meal at the pub opposite. Excellent communication with owners before our stay. Thank you!
- Hannah (7/5): Lovely cottage but inaccurate description led to disappointment. - Very comfy beds.
Lots of little extras in the kitchen - milk, coffee, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets
The washing machine was actually also a tumble dryer. Over sold -
Described as 2 bathrooms but only one bathroom and a cloakroom.
Although technically enough space to park a car it is only possible if you are happy to block half of the not-very-wide road.
Not enough wood / kindling to have a fire.
- Sam (9/5): Perfect - Property clean and spacious Parking tight
- Jane (9/5): Lovely stay pity we couldn’t stay longer. - The property was just what we were after for a 2 night stay for 3 couples. It was very wet this morning think t there should be a mat on the inside of the front door.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional! - Couldn’t believe what we got for the price we paid. Absolute bargain in January. Exceptionally clean, spacious, all the cooking equipment needed, good quality furniture throughout, very comfortable beds, very comfortable settee, easy access and a pub serving excellent food right over the road. The Prosecco and milk on arrival were a lovely touch!
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leas (9/5): A wonderful cottage to recharge your batteries. - The cottage was pretty, warm, and inviting. We had slept very well, and the bed and duvet were so comfortable.
We had lots of fun cooking in an open, perfect size kitchen while having a meal and playing darts at the same time.
The living room was a perfect ending to our family day out, with an open fire and a film. The settees were huge and comfortable for us all.
It's was nice to feel we were left on our own. However, if we needed advice or support. The owner was very quick and helpful, though, emails or text by phone.
- Craig (10/5): Would highly recommend - Location was ideal for what we needed over the weekend. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Little touches from the hosts were really appreciated. Will be travelling up a few times during the year due to daughters sports and if available will be booking again. N/A
- Jane (6/5): cottage did not spoil our break but it didn't enhance it either - Location was perfect for us as a central point for a get together. The kitchen and lounge were perfect. The log burner was a lovely extra. Pub only 33 steps away was a bonus Cleanliness was poor. Window in downstairs toilet was dirty and no hand towel placed there. The mats in the kitchen were lethal, no non slip backing tom them and nearly caused an accident.
Couldn't control heating and it seemed to be on all night.
Twin room had an ear bud on the floor behind the door, we left it there. Hope the cleaner saw it when we left. No mirror in this room.
Towels were too small for adults, you need the sheets.
Parking not great.
No matches to light the fire
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iain (10/5): what a great cottage with lovely garden for relaxing or smoking in - there was everything you need to have just like home to home,
milk in the fridge and persico for the gests lovely tv and heating was superb
beds and bedding were just great could not ask for more 100% to the ownwers not a thing as every thing
you needed was there
- Marcella (10/5): The best property I've stayed in - The facilities and cleanliness were fantastic. The little touches throughout the property made it feel special. Probably the best property I've stayed in and wouldn't hesitate to book again
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Great cottage, very clean, well equipped, and less than 1 min walk to a great pub! - It was very clean, well equipped especially the kitchen. Nice sized lounge, plenty of room for us all to sit including our daughter and husband and baby who came to visit us one day.
Quiet location. Nothing to not like
