Guest Reviews
- Harley (10/5): Absolutely brilliant - The range of breakfast was exceptional.
The host was really nice.
Clean towels everyday, super clean and tidy.
Would definitely recommend.
Will be staying here again if I'm in the area.
Thank you for the lovely, comfortable stay 😊 Everything was brilliant.
- John (9/5): -
- Mary (9/5): - Lovely place in nice location
- Vikki (10/5): A haven of peace and comfort - My 4th stay here; i always book if down on business and it's available. Friendly. Super peaceful, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast in the room. Nothing!
- Elton (10/5): -
- Sjoerd (9/5): -
- Agnes (9/5): - Mooie schone kamer, alles aanwezig.
Goed geslapen, fijne douche.
Aardige mensen. Kan niks bedenken..
- Sam (8/5): Great little stay - Lovely setting, super hosts, lovely breakfast offer. The bed was pretty uncomfortable. The only downside for me was the mattress wasn't great and the curtains weren't black out. Minor tweaks could turn this very good to exceptional :)
- Carl (10/5): A lovely little spot to rest the head. -
- Gemma (9/5): Peaceful and tranquil location with lovely rooms - Decent sized rooms, beautiful and peaceful location and easy distance (with car) to nearby attractions. Was convenient that breakfast was provided in the room for us to eat when it suited us. Owner friendly and helpful.
- Gillian (10/5): Can’t wait to go back! - Very nice hosts and the property is gorgeous! In the Cornwall countryside with beautiful scenery and fantastic rooms! Couldn’t faint anything accept I had to go home! ….. absolutely nothing to dislike!
- Celia (10/5): - A truly wonderful stay. The room and especially the shower room are both small, but very well laid out. The shower is modern, with plenty of hot water. If you like peaceful countryside, the location is perfect. The hosts are welcoming and having the breakfast in the room means no stress in the morning! Nothing, everything was super.
- Caroline (9/5): Quiet Spot - Very clean room in a modern refurbished building which has four(? not sure) lettable rooms. The hosts are very welcoming but unobtrusive and the location is very pretty and peaceful. You are welcome to wander around the garden/farm. Parking is easy and breakfast is provided on a tray in your room with a small folding table, a kettle and a tiny fridge which contains milk, orange juice, yoghurt and butter. 15 minutes to the large supermarkets in St Austell and 20 minutes to Eden Project. The single room is quite small and sloping ceiling may not suit a tall person. Similarly the shower is small and maybe not suit a large person. Overall it was comfortable and good value for my short visit
- David (10/5): My stay was in a idylic place i really liked it - Breakfast was great just enough for me Everything was fine
- William (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): - Very nice just what I needed I was left alone it was lovely and peaceful
- Raindaisy (10/5): Lovely hidden little gem! - This is a lovely little gem ! I am solo and booked for 2 nights to be near my tourer , while I prepped it for summer , I was tempted to use the comfort for a little longer!
Beautiful room, clean , comfortable, large ensuite with big bath and shower attachment to wash hair .
Continental breakfast provided on a tray in room . I had fresh fruit and yogurt one morning.
Lesley , the host, has a wonderful garden and is a lovely warm welcoming host .
Definitely recommend if you want peace and quiet in a little cornish village with an amazing pub for good food a heart beat away. Near to the Eden Project, Heligan , Mevigissey and Charlestown.
- Robert1212 (9/5): Nice place to stay - Provided an excellent continental breakfast including croissant, yoghurt, muesli, porridge, corn flakes and a banana. Fresh milk and orange juice as well. Very clean place. Hosts were very friendly. Very quiet and remote location. N/A
- Cindy (10/5): -
- Bridget (10/5): Straightforward, comfortable and quiet. - Straightforward, comfortable. Just what I needed - quiet in a pleasant area near St Austell. I wanted to break my journey to Marazion to avoid Easter jams. This worked perfectly. Great to have proper milk in a tiny fridge and I liked having the breakfast there in my room, made the morning leisurely. I’ll probably be back. Nothing to dislike.
- Bart (9/5): Good value, peaceful, clean and well-provided for. - The room was clean and comfortable and the en-suite was similarly clean. The stay was excellent value for money. The surroundings are lovely and peaceful. The lady who met me was pleasant and helpful. It's a bit tricky to find if you've never been there before. A What3Words would help. A small pole to operate the skylight blind would also be helpful.
- Janet (10/5): Excellent - I had a really lovely stay here. Everything was great. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Perfect pitstop for a tired traveler - Quality room, lovely, simple and everything needed and more was in the room Nothing
- Annah Ntombizodwa (9/5): Enjoyed my stay - Quiet place, no noise, smart and clean. This place is well maintained, friendly and comfortable. No light where we park cars if you come late.
- Shona (10/5): - Idyllic and tucked away in the countryside, my room was cosy, warm and thoughtfully arranged, with a dainty little fridge stocked with orange juice and milk. The continental breakfast was delicious and generous, and the hosts were wonderfully welcoming, creating an immediate sense of ease and safety. Peaceful, picturesque, and a place I’d happily return to.
- Deborah (8/5): -
- Peter (8/5): - Leslie the host was extremely helpful in sorting out an issue with Booking.com Rather not say I will say neutral.
- Sally (9/5): Great place for a short stay in the St Austell area. - Fabulous setting, beautifully clean and modern room - small but with everything needed for a short stay. The continental breakfast was decent, with a choice of cereals, a banana, orange juice and a croissant.
Great to find such a nice a single room at a fair price. I found the whirring of the mini fridge a bit annoying - but I switched it off before going to sleep and the contents were still cool the next morning.
- Darren (10/5): I was working late so didn’t arrive until 11pm but was still welcomed and shown to my room, l also was leaving early but - Stunning location and peaceful
- Steven (10/5): Excellent Value for a short stay - lovely property, friendly hosts, quiet location, the double room with an ensuite bath was extremely comfortable, close enough to St.Austell for my work there, good WiFi too Hard to find on a wet dark winter night, could do with a reflective sign on the gate
- Richard (10/5): Amazing host, really accommodating - Location and safe surroundings
- Henry (8/5): Nice accommodation in a quiet countryside. Lovely hosts -
- Pollard (10/5): Kind and welcoming hosts - Kind and welcoming hosts Nothing
- Maureen (8/5): A most enjoyable stay which was very relaxing and beautiful! - Not quite what I expected. I didn't dislike anything.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Alastair (9/5): Very pleasant and peaceful, with a lovely comfortable room! - Continental breakfast in the room was very nice, liked that you could have it whenever you wished: lovely locaion with the farmlands to walk around as well! Phone signal could potentially have been an issue, as I wasn't able to get any connection - luckily the free Wi-Fi meant I was still able to stay in contact with my Mom!
- Larry (9/5): - Very well presented room. Modern en suite. Arrived in the dark, so could only appreciate the view of the water feature in the garden the following morning.
- Bart (9/5): - The owners are really friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Nothing.
- Rachael (10/5): -
- Stuart (10/5): Excellent, peaceful and comfortable. - Just what I needed for a short stay near St Austell. Hosts were very welcoming and easy to talk to. Room was a good size, quiet and comfortable. Nothing to fault and I felt right at home.
Great location, countryside feel but just a short drive to St Austell for everything you could need.
- Louise (9/5): -
- Ray (10/5): - It's a beautiful place to stay, surrounded by nature. My room was excellent. It was my second visit here and I'm looking forward to the third one. I liked everything.
- Bart (10/5): A gem - The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was bright and clean. Cold breakfast was supplied in the room and was more than enough for me.
The B&B itself is a beautifully renovated building in many acres of fields with nice walks. Quiet and pretty surroundings. One small thing. The tap in the bathroom sink only ran very slowly. The B&B was a bit difficult to find.
- Kelvin (10/5): Excellent location with clean and comfortable accommodation with very good continental breakfast. as - This place and accommodation was a pleasant Gem with a warm welcome by the host. Central location for my visit to Falmouth, St Catherine's Castle and St Mawes Castle. The Continental breakfast was lush with really good choices. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with brew kit and television. Would definitely recommend for other fellow Solo travellers. None applicable.
- Ashley (1/5): Terrible service, I had no access and no response from the contact number, I had to sleep in my car - Nothing, I was locked out I arrived at the property after a very long drive to find that it was locked, i tried calling the number provided and emailing the email address provided, both had no response. I had to sleep in my car as there was no availability anywhere else nearby.
the following day the owner contacted me and promised a full refund, I am still waiting nearly a month on, with no other contact from them

Was idyllic for me. All was very good

Lovely, spotless, tastefully decorated room. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. I wished I could've stayed longer. Would highly recommend. Nothing. It was all perfect.
- Clark (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Christopher (9/5): I had a very pleasant overnight stay here, and it is a lovely place. Would definitely come again. - The guest house was a lovely converted farmhouse barn, with a very picturesque setting. My room was small, but very comfortable. The breakfast was a self-serve continental breakfast provided in the room, but quite sufficient. I had a very friendly welcome from the proprietors.

- Emily (9/5): Solo female road trip around Cornwall - Very warm welcome from the hosts. I loved the fresh milk and orange juice and yoghurt and even butter portions in the mini fridge. Teas & coffees, biscuits, the continental breakfast of cereal, porridge, banana, croissant was nice, along with spreads was nice! Bedroom was clean, tidy and decorated nicely. Could park quite close to accommodation. Lovely grounds to walk around in. Stayed for 2 nights here. Good value for the price. No shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, but there was shower gel and handwash! I had my own shampoo and conditioner luckily. Other than that, it was a great stay. Slightly bigger towels would have been better.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Everything.Lovely room in very nice house out in the countryside.Nice TV worked well.Nice breakfast.
- Kersti (10/5): You will want to return, keep the secret! - The place is amazing, hosts are great making sure you are comfortable and giving travelling tips which were so useful.
I got a free upgrade and super nice continental breakfast. Satnav takes you to the opposite direction (narrow rd) once you need to take the final turn ...so maybe a more colourful bigger sign for ppl who are shortsighted like me.
- Sajid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yevheniia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alastair (10/5): Lovely - Lovely self serve breakfast and a nice quiet location. Host was welcoming and friendly. Good value for money.
- Stephen (9/5): Ideal bolt hole. -
- Mike (8/5): very good better than the average B and B - The breakfast whilst being seved in the room was very good and of good quality perhaps better signage as I missed the property first time coming from the original direction
- Richard (7/5): Good - Lovely location, friendly host. Very poor communication, emailed and left a voice message regarding check in times, both were ignored, on booking.com it stated that it had an excellent breakfast, it was actually a very basic continental breakfast, no one to meet me when I arrived no phone signed and no instructions where to go.
- Dewi (9/5): Superb -
- Arlene (10/5): Lovely hosts very welcoming, lovely cottage , very clean . -
- Emanuela (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Midweek break near St Austell - What a lovely, comfortable room in a great location, you're out in the country away from everything, such a relaxing stay. The host was so friendly, she made me feel so welcome , I'll definitely visit again. Nothing really!

- Federico (9/5): Welcoming and comfortable - Location, easygoing and welcoming host. Clean and tidy. Idyllic surrounding I would have a loved a larger bottle of water!
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (8/5): Lovely property and lovely friendly owners, very peaceful and comfortable rooms. - Lovely tranquil place, really peaceful, slept very well and lovely friendly staff. Very to close to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, which is where we were visiting. Unfortunately we couldn't eat most of the breakfast provisions that were provided due to not eating dairy, which was also in the muslie and oats that was provided and of course the croissant and yogurt. But the owner was very kind and brought apple juice instead of orange due to an allergy.
- Anthony (10/5): A countryside retreat in a charming property - Lovely quiet village location, very peaceful. Nice host, very helpful. Excellent continental breakfast choice 😋
- Celeste (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebikorek (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the cozy room and the views. There's nothing that I didn't like
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet. Private and ideally located for my work trip. Nothing
- Julianne (8/5): A little Gem in the outskirts of St. Austell - Love the fact that it's set in beautiful surroundings, and it's lovely n peaceful There was a slight odour of the room when I first entered, can only think it may have come previous occupant. Had to open Window a lot wider and spray with Air Freshener.
Just a minor issue that 1 bottle of water really isn't enough. Could do with either a Bigger bottle or at at least 2. As I do like my cups of tea. Also, lead on Kettle is very short making it a bit difficult to make a cup of tea.
- Vijayalakshmi (9/5): Superb -
- Kellie (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Lovely location with beautiful views and walks. Room was clean and very comfy. After a long working day nice bath to relax in. Host Lesly was so friendly. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

- Patrick (8/5): Peaceful and close to other nice places. Nice and helpful hosts - Lovely quiet location, peaceful and scenic.
- Susan (9/5): Pleasant Streams Barn is a beautiful location for a country holiday. - The location was beautiful, the grounds were full of lovely plants, many flowering, and animals on the farm. The hosts were kind and welcoming and directed me to a pub in the next village for dinner. The breakfast was continental style in my bedroom: pot of porridge, packet of muesli, packet of cornflakes + milk, yoghurt and orange juice in a little fridge. I could have booked a larger room, but the small room was adequate for my one night stay and I was happy with my accommodation.
- Edwards (10/5): Exceptional - The bath Nothing
- Kieron (10/5): Exceptional - Room exactly as described. Venue was beautiful with awesome grounds to wander round. Owners were some of the nicest people I’ve met. Please support their business!
