Guest Reviews
- Eloise (10/5): Sweet little hostel with beautiful beach - I had a wonderful stay at Bice Hostel; comfortable bed, great food, and good location on the island. Thanks to the lovely team working there: Beth, Cath, Lisa and of course Will who was so welcoming and friendly ;)
- Maddie (1/5): False advertising / scam / photos aren’t real - 1. False advertising/scam - If you read nothing else of this review, please just read this bit which explains that this listing is a scam/ false advertising. We booked a double bed in a 3-person dorm as shown in the photos on this website. These photos are fake/of somewhere else. The dorm we were shown to had 4 bunk beds (including some doubles, so 12 people) squeezed into a tiny, dirty room - SEE PHOTOS. This is literally 4x the number of people in a room than shown on the photos and the room was disgusting. There were dead cockroaches laying in the mosquito net.
2. Boat ride payment - They charged us extra for the boat transfer from El Nido. As far as we can tell, every other place on the island offers the boat ride for free or it is included in the booking price. Either way, it’s annoying to have to pay cash unexpectedly.
3. Hoping for a hostel “vibe”? Don’t bother - We thought a hostel might have better atmosphere and we could meet likeminded people. That was totally wrong, as the hostel was completely empty. Obviously other travellers have a better intuition than us and didn’t book here in the first place.
4. No food included - Most other places on the island include at least a free breakfast. There is hardly anywhere to eat on the island, and also it is expensive so by not including breakfast here, Bice are setting you up to spend more money with them because you’ll probably just buy breakfast from them.
5. Value for money? NO - This place initially looks like a cheaper option than others on the island, but that’s all part of why it feels like a scam. Once you’ve paid for the boat transfers and all of your food because none is included, you end up spending as much (if not more) than if you just booked with one of the actual nice accommodations on the island.
6. Drinks served warm and flat from 2L bottles - This was so odd. We sat in the bar area while we looked at somewhere else to book and stay on the island.
- Emilie (9/5): Hiddden gem!! - Such a hidden gem. Private beach and walkable distance all around the island. You can ask to borrow googles and there’s free coffee and water, and the food is super good. The staff is super duper nice. I was playing volleyball and snorkeling with Don all morning. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. Only hiccup was that the shared car I was supposed to get, never showed up and had to wait 40 min for the boat.
- Wafa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaskirat (1/5): Stay here only 1 night - The staff First, be aware there are many Bice Camp accommodations. This is really not worth it in my view. There are so many other good islands in Palawan that you can easily skip this. I've made the mistake to book for 2 nights but 1 is totally all right. It's also very expensive (1200 for 1 night - 20 euros for a bunk bed). I also tried to cancel the last night but they were really not flexible at all. I even said that they don't need to give the money back, but simply pay with that they food that I ate.
Oh talking about the food, extremely expensive. 380 pesos for a vegetable curry, extremely expensive for the Philippines. And it's not even that this place is so remote, it's simply 15min away from several ports in the "mainland". Normally such type of food I could easily find it for 180 pesos.
For the boat they make you pay 400 peso to get over the island and back. Fairly expensive considering it's only 15min away.
On the positive side there is drinking water available and the staff is super friendly (but not the owner).
All in all, I would suggest to simply spend 1 night here.
- Paschalina (8/5): Great option for daracotan staying on that hostel - Not many people staying that was good!
Quite!
Not at the busy part of the island..
Friendly staff Taking care of the place during the day!
Not available island hopping because of the lack of participants.. check the other hotels around -I never had WiFi
-Prices of the selling products super expensive (there are 3 mini markets at the village close by to do shopping really cheap)
-I was not expecting hot water. I’m fine with that
-you pay for the boat to bring you on the island or take you back.

- Michael (7/5): The most lovely little paradise island and the accomodation is worth it, you got a lot of value for the price you pay - Great tranquil location, peaceful, quiet, mosquito nets, accessible from the rest of the island Toilet and showers outside, very sandy so difficult to get rid of sand
- Mathilda (10/5): Exceptional - Best staff ever, fun, respectful, and find everything you need Nothing it's paradise
- Marco (10/5): An idyllic escape to a beautiful island! - This hostel offers an idyllic escape with friendly islanders, a serene atmosphere, and the sunken shipwreck nearby—perfect for snorkeling without the crowds. Highly recommended!
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional island beach vibe! - This place offers a fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and clean accommodations. The stunning views and relaxing island beach vibe are exceptional!
