• Mariana (9/5): Un lugar chill para relajar, compartir y disfrutar - El lugar tiene muy buena onda. India y los voluntarios son re copados y coincidí con George que vino a dar una mano y es lo más!!! . Me sentí súper bien con ellxs. El lugar está re chill para relajarse en el patio o en las hamacas. Las reglas están súper claras, la cocina muy bien organizada, la cama es re comoda y la cortina y el ventilador individual hacen que sea como tú mini pieza. Ame que tengan cafecito todas las mañanas :) Es lo único que puedo señalar, y es algo que tiene posibilidad de mejorarse sin dudas y es que en las habitaciones no había donde colocar las mochilas o cosas de uso para acceder a ellas cómodamente, estando repartidas en el piso o debajo de otras camas ya que el espacio era medio reducido. Pero le busque la vuelta y encontré una ubicación practica que no me implique agacharme para revolver buscando algo. Los lockers son escasos y están afuera pero vienen bien para guardar los objetos de valor o las cosas que se usan más en el área común.

• Julia (7/5): - The staff was very friendly and welcoming. India and Floriana helped a lot and were very responsible. It was also very clean, and the vibe was perfect for vacation. The tipi that I booked, needs some maintenance. There was a huge gap between the door and the floor, the mosquito net had holes, the door lock was broken, and I expected a bed instead of a mattress.

• Alice (9/5): Love love love! - such a vibe! felt right at home, super relaxt and so inviting. Very comfortable beds and the airco in the dorm in the night is delicious. Great taste in music which contributed so much to the atmosphere also close to the more local part of town so more easy to go to the best and cheapest sodas the fridge needs an upgrade - it is not strong enough there were lots of google chairs and 2 hammocks, i did long for a soft seat/ couch at some point

• Alicia (10/5): J’ai adoré mon séjour de 5 nuits dans ce petit hostel trop mignon. L’équipe est vraiment super sympa et compétente. Tout - Auberge très cosy et très jolie, où on peut à la fois avoir son intimité tout comme faire des rencontres. Les espaces extérieurs son bien aménagés et agréables. L’organisation de l’équipe est au top, et ils sont tous super sympas ! J’ai adoré mon séjour là bas (en chambre privée, que j ai rallongé d’une nuit dans un dortoir et ça s’est très bien passé aussi). Je reviendrais !!! Merci pour tout

It is super close to both playa buena vista and Samara so you can walk no problem

• Aimee (8/5): Cute & affordable! - This was the cleanest hostel of 3 that I stayed in while in Sámara! The manager puts in a lot of effort to keep it organized and cute! She does a good job keeping the kitchen organized for such a small space. Even though it’s further from the beach, it’s a calm atmosphere and still an easy walking distance to sodas and stores. Wifi is strong and the morning coffee is lovely. Beds were comfortable! For the number of guests, the kitchen is really too small - only 1-2 people can cook at once - and they need another fridge. It would be nice if there was a more comfortable hang out space as the chairs out back are pretty uncomfortable and everyone smokes out front.

En la habitación con aire acondicionado se prende muy tarde y cuando más se necesita está apagado, tienen pequeños ventiladores en cada cama, pero una sola toma, por lo que se ocupa en eso y no hay donde enchufar el celular u otros dispositivos a cargar.

• Nichole (7/5): - The dorm beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in! :) I appreciate the privacy, fans, lights and outlets in there. It's walking distance to everything. Kitchen amenities were good and they have a little backyard area that's nice. Samara was amazing and I spent most of my time outside of the hostel. Bathrooms and rooms are small/crammed - not many mirrors to get ready or anything. Water was cold. No one here was very social, was kinda a weird vibe but that might be the luck of the draw on who stays. They shut all the lights off on me when I was still sitting alone outside without telling me around 10 pm. Kinda awkward - maybe they didn't see me?

• Marie (8/5): Très bien! - L'hostel est bien placé, a proximité de la plage, les parties communes sont grandes et agréables (deux jardins), les lits sont très confortables. L'hostel est calme, c'est parfait pour se reposer. L'accueil a été sympathique. Tout n'est pas toujours parfaitement propre, mais cela dépend aussi des hôtes. Les salles de bain et équipements sont un peu vieillissants. Les chambres sont petites.

• Dominique (10/5): super Hostel - Die Unterkunft mit Innenhof und Küche ist sehr schön. Es gibt Vorhänge und und Steckdosen am Bett. Das Team um Paula ist sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Es gibt Zimmer mit Klimaanlage für einen kleinen Aufpreis. Für mich was alles gut.

• Carola (6/5): Quite location, but not very clean - The hostel is at a quite, peaceful location but still in walking distance to the center and to the beach. Even on the weekend there was no noise and we rested well. The dorm beds are with curtains. The girls working there are very kind (especially Paula). The dorms are small and the volunteers are in the same room. So it’s already full with their stuff and not really space left for every guest (in my opinion should that be better organised/ for everyone some space under bed,…). No AC in the dorm. Be careful, although it‘s written on booking card payment is possible, it‘s not - just cash! And the rate is not the daily bank rate so they make money out of it, don‘t like that! The place over all is not very clean, although the volunteers are cleaning every day. Especially the kitchen utilities are very old and dirty. There are just 2 toilets for all guests and because the showers are in the same room, it‘s often occupied…
• Tatyana (9/5): - This is a lovely hostel with incredibly friendly staff. The location is wonderful with just a short walk to the beach as well as the main street. The staff, especially Jorgelina, was always available to answer any questions and eager to help out in any way they could.

• Laura (9/5): - I have stayed for two weeks in this hostel and I really enjoyed my stay. It's a bit outside of Sámara so it's quiet at night but everything is in walking distance. The owner is very kind and she really puts a lot of effort into transforming the place so you really feel at home, there are plants everywhere and you can sit in the garden. The dorms are quite small but that's okay. There could be a shelf or more hooks in the bathroom so you can put your clothes somewhere while showering.

• Daron (6/5): Very nice small place to meet good people. But the more premium rooms need to have AC. - Loved the other travelers and the very kind staff. Great place to meet other cool people. Very strange how the shared rooms have AC, but the private room which comes at a much higher cost does not. It’s upstairs so it’s very very hot and does not cool down. The window has to be open to make it livable and then you get lots of bugs in your room. Also strange for a modern hostel to only accept payment in cash in 2026.

• Seth (7/5): Mysigt - Väldigt mysigt hostel med sängar som hade gardiner så känns mer privat. Rena och fräscha sängar och toaletter. Social personal och mysigt hang out ställe nära till stan och stranden Köket var väldigt slitet och alla redskap väldigt slitna. Kändes inte så fräscha. Samt att i kylen som var överfull så hade vi ställt in en låda mat med namn på så som man ska göra. Men när vi skulle laga vår mat så hade någon slängt alltihop. Så köket var inte bra men i övrigt trevligt ställe.
• Elia (4/5): no es un bonito lugar - Lo que me gustó únicamente fue la ubicación ya que queda cerca del centro de Sámara Primero que todo en la página web de booking decía que este Hostel aceptan tarjetas de crédito/débito visa o Mastercard pero cuando ya había reservado el encargado de reservas me escribió que ellos solo aceptan efectivo por los momentos y yo no podía pagar en efectivo lo cual me parece que no están cumpliendo con lo que promocionan en booking. Y ya no podía cancelar porque me iba a tocar a mí pagar por algo que ellos no aclararon. Al final pagué por sinpe lo cual no es ideal porque no se sabe si pueden existir estafas fuera de booking y me tuve que arriesgar. Y yo sé muy bien que hacen este tipo prácticas para no pagar impuestos en el país. Otro punto que la habitación no contaba con aire acondicionado, contrario a lo que decía en booking. Otro punto a considerar es que hay que compartir baño, el cual ya luego en la noche estaba sucio todo lleno de arena. Entiendo que era fin de año y que algunos otros huéspedes también están festejando pero mantener la limpieza incluso en días festivos es primordial.

• Kevin (10/5): Magic - The staff was absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful, they literally created a magic atmosphere in this place, they made my stay magic. I stayed almost a week instead of a single night! Very clean place, good facilities and the kitchen is complete. There’s free coffee in the morning. The only thing is you have to walk 10 minutes to be at the beach, but you pass by the river and have the chance to spot wild animals :)
• Ignacia (4/5): No volvería y no recomiendo! - Personal de recepcion amable Los baños estaban sucios todo el día, con olor a orina, papeleros llenos y la tina muy sucia. Creo que nunca los ví limpiarlos. No había instalación para agua caliente en las duchas. La cocina también estaba sucia, con el mínimo de implementos, muy antiguos y con restos de comida siempre. Me parece que la relación precio/calidad ofrecida en Booking no es adecuada para la precariedad del lugar. La habitación de 4 camas no tenía ventilador, solo uno portátil muy ruidoso por las noches. Olor a humedad en todo el lugar. La administración del lugar fue muy inflexible para realizar un cambio de fechas de tan solo un día, demostró que solo les importa el dinero y no la experiencia de la personas, mucho menos la recomendación.
• Licina (10/5): Peaceful - Argdivan Beach Hostel in Sámara is an absolute gem! The location is incredible, right next to the beach, and the atmosphere is super welcoming and chill. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and they are a great resource for local tips. Everything is clean, and the common areas are perfect for meeting new people. Highly recommend for any traveler visiting Guanacaste! I didn't liked that I couldn't stayed longer:(

It is on a very quiet street, and it’s such a small town it really doesn’t matter where you sleep, everything is a 5 min walk away maximum. Perfect budget friendly option. Super nice staff! Kitchen does the trick, and surprisingly the beds in the dorms I found really comfortable, which is always a plus. Nice personal fan too.

The volunteers and owners do their best to keep the space clean at least twice a day and are very communicative. Very comfortable beds with lights, chargers, curtains and personal fan. I loved it! • Nelson (10/5): Peaceful friendly budget accommodation - Wow what an awesome place! Pablo and Malvi are super lovely and helpful, and are busy creating a beautiful space for travellers. We stayed in the new tent platform out back - it was peaceful, cool and comfy, we slept great. Kitchen facilities are good, the hostel is clean and airy with different spaces to relax and loads of stunning murals to enjoy. The location is ideal, it's an easy walk into town/beach and had nice sodas and shops very nearby. Quiet back street that felt safe and has off-road parking right outside. Highly recommend!
• Marisol (7/5): Kind staff but dated, unclean facilities - The staff here are very kind and very helpful! Location of the hostel is just a couple minutes walk to the beach and bus station which was very convenient but also not too choose to the street to be loud and unable to sleep. Tap water is potable which was very useful in the heat. Good wifi throughout building. Outdoor areas were also very nice. I understand that the prices here may be higher because it's so touristy/there's high demand, but I don't think the prices accurately reflect the facilities and cleanliness. Some showers didn't function properly or have hot water and the private room was missing a window screen and it felt uncomfortable sleeping with it wide open but there was no way to get around it because of the heat. The staff were kind in making sure I was comfortable by allowing me to use an additional fan but only after I expressed concerned (the fan also ended up being partially broken and they offered to exchange it but I didn't want to take the working fan out of the common area). The smoking section was also somewhat close to the private room so on my last night I smelled smoke for a couple of hours which was unpleasant as I was trying to sleep. Facilities aside, I found the hostel to lacking in cleanliness. The soap dispenser was only refilled after I asked, the upstairs toilet, shower, and bath mat all looked unclean and stained. The private room wasn't properly cleaned before I checked in as I could see hair and dirt on the floor, trash in the trashcan from the previous guest, and dust on the nightstands. Likely due to the humidity but the towels, sheets, and pillows all had a somewhat sour, moldy smell to them.
