Guest Reviews
- Alisi (10/5): The lodge made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. It is definitely a place I will revisit. - Thank you for having us Sharon. Had an amazing experience at the lodge. I love how everything at the lodge is heartfelt & detail driven even to the smallest fixtures..service from the ladies Sarita and Ani were exceptional.. and your mindset of prioritizing fitness and health can clearly be felt throughout the lodge including the importance of sustainability. The lodge was safe and peaceful. Stay was short but very impactful.. I will definitely recommend the lodge to my families and friends & share this experience onboard to many of my workmates and definitely the guests who look forward to experience our Natural Fijian Happiness. I would say it’s a challenge to get to the lodge due to its very steep hills but it’s all worth it. The views are incredible.
- Shauna Ann (10/5): Wonderful - Very beautiful quiet and peaceful. nothing. All was great.
- Linda (8/5): -
- Ameera (2/5): Trapped and forced to pay exuberant amounts of money to travel to town. - Breakfast was large, but the same everyday and there was no choice for a change in the way the eggs were cooked.
Property was clean.
Wifi was limited - poor access. Location was the worst part of this place. It was on top of a hill with great views, but the only access was a 4 wd track up a steep hill. My son was unable to walk up the hill and so we were forced to rely on the staff to organize a taxi - they always used the same person and charged $40 fjd for a round trip. There were very limited food choices at the property and so we were forced to spend this money on a daily basis to access lunch and dinner options. It felt like we were trapped. Locals stated $40 fjd was a ridiculous amount of money to pay and I agree. The property has a 4wd but the staff stated they were not allowed to use it for guests. The road was a 2 minute drive so $40 fjd was completely inappropriate.
Cocktails are on the menu but the staff do not know how to make any. I asked for a wine and the staff directed me to open bottles in the fridge - unknown time these bottles had been open. So there was a limited choice for drinks as well.
I would never stay at this property again.
- Naidu (8/5): - The Amazing Views Food could have been better
- Roman (1/5): Strong recommendation: look for another place to stay. In our experience, this lodge was not transparent, unreliable, an - Stayed 5 nights with a friend
Unfortunately, our stay at Naveria Heights Lodge was not a good experience, and I would not recommend it.
First of all, the lodge is only reachable by a 4-wheel drive. Walking is not safe at all: the path is extremely steep, the stairs are slippery, guardrails are broken, and in some places there are even nails sticking out. We slipped and fell several times. Luckily, we only had bruises, but it could have ended much worse.
Because of the steep and dangerous access road and the need for a 4-wheel drive, you can barely leave the property. You are basically stuck up there. On top of that, there are hidden transportation costs: each short ride to the main road (about 2 minutes) costs 20 FJD per way, which is extremely expensive and was not communicated transparently.
I tried to book a massage during our stay. It was postponed multiple times, once for more than two hours, and in the end it never happened because the massage therapist could not come up due to the steep driveway.
We also asked for help organizing a dive trip. A staff member named Sunil told us everything was arranged with the dive shop and school, but it turned out it was not. As a result, we did not get what we asked for and still had to pay.
What worried us most: people in Savusavu town warned us about staying there, and unfortunately they were right. On our last day, we were even threatened by Sunil, who said they would keep our luggage if we didn’t pay extra fees. This made us feel genuinely scared and uncomfortable.
Overall, the situation became stranger and more uncomfortable with each passing day. This is especially sad because Fijian people are generally incredibly kind and welcoming, which made this experience stand out in a very negative way.
Strong recommendation: look for another place to stay. In our experience, this lodge was not transparent, unreliable, and at the end even threatening. We wish we had listened to the locals’ advice.
- Tahira (9/5): Amazing - The staff was amazing, especially Sarita
- Tony (9/5): Breath taking - Beautiful peaceful paradise the walk up to the property was stunning through beautiful native gardens. By the end of the stay the hill became a breeze 🤗 The property was great and Saritas daily fresh bread made breakfast delicious .
Sadly Sharron only arrived at the end of our stay she was a mine of local knowledge and would have been great to tap into
- Baljeet (10/5): memorable stay - breath taking scenery n/a
- Archal (10/5): - Good location, views and the hospitality with good and very friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay at naveria heights lodge.
- Dan 21 (10/5): - Absolutely fabulous 8 or so days at this little 'sanctuary' Sunita (sorry if spelt wrong) was just the most fabulous attentive host, breakfast on the deck every morning was heavenly. Driveway was steep as referred to in other reviews but I treated the hill as part of my daily steps and was welcome to shift a pound or two after the good eating.

- Tony (10/5): Sensational. - Unbelievable views over Savusavu and Mawi marina. Wonderful, friendly staff. Beautiful continental/cooked breakfast. It was a last minute booking, made quickly whilst on a yacht miles away. Didn’t really get a chance to read all the description, so probably missed any mention of the incredibly steep and long driveway from the road to the lodge. Not an ascent that should be undertaken on foot, with luggage!. 4WD taxi is not-negotiable. If it wasn’t such a last minute booking, I’m sure we could have properly organised collection with Sharon as she is incredibly accommodating. The view, and the experience is worth it all.
- Chris (10/5): Naveria Heights Lodge - The Lodge is located high up, overlooking the Nawi island and bay - stunning views!
The ambiance of the whole Lodge is wonderful - so relaxing.
- Nae (7/5): Make sure to secure the transportation if you are attending for an event - I loved the view and its deck! I visited Savusavu for the 5 days event. I didn’t know the venue was too far from the hotel. I needed a 4 wheel drive to commute since its hill is too steep. I missed two early morning events because of this. I didn’t have enough time to go back to the room to rest during the event, nor a chance to enjoy the deck and its view.
- Jonathon (10/5): A great place to start our trip to fiji. Wonderful people and an amazing view from the balcony. - Breakfast was delicious, served by a very friendly staff, and was more than enough food to start the day.
- Anjali (9/5): A one of a kind experience ! - Beautiful property, well maintained with attention to detail. Very aesthetically done.
Amazing view of the bay
Sharon has helpful suggestions for sightseeing in Savusavu
- Walter (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Justin (10/5): Fantastic! - The staff (particularly Sarita) were wonderful, very attentive and accommodating to the needs of the guests. They prepared beautiful breakfasts and dinners every night. The rooms were all unique and air-conditioned. The pool and balcony area had fantastic views. The path from the main road to the lodge was a little precarious, not recommended for everyone. There was an option to get a lift with hotel staff at a cost. Additionally, the lodge vehicle was in desperate need of replacement of serious maintenance, it lacked basic safety features such as seatbelts.
- Justin (9/5): Gorgeous Lodge - Loved the views, the friendly staff, the location, the room and the food. Very relaxed. The steep hill. You can usually get get a lift but at a cost. There is no way a 2WD car will make it up the road.
- Aija (10/5): Exceptional - Small nice lodge set in a beautiful location with incredible sea views ! Big enough air conditioned room with comfy bed. Private outdoor space! Friendly and helpful staff, especially Sunil and Sarina! Great trekking to waterfalls and lots of information about the island (Sunil again!). Thank you for great stay! Company of a friendly Juice! Lack of horizontal terrane for walks around the lodge - very steep walk up and down from the lodge
- Debbie (9/5): Beautiful place and host warm and hospitable. - Really appreciated the warm hospitality.
- Edwin (9/5): Great quiet get away at the edge of SavuSavu. - The view is simply spectacular. Private comfortable rooms. Pool with a view. Steer entry which normal taxis can have trouble with. Best to have the lodge book your taxi.
- Maury (8/5): Breathtaking approach - and Views! - This place is an adventure just to arrive. If you have a 4-wd vehicle, you can ascend the very steep road partway, then climb the rest with your bag, or they are happy to provide a lift up for a small fee. Kind of scary, but thrilling. The manager, Sharon, is very welcoming, and accommodating. My room was elaborately decorated in colourful Fijian accents; the bathroom was literally like a rock cave, as per photos! Nice toiletries, excellent towels. Bed was one-of-a-kind, the ceiling fan quite dramatic. Nice furnishings, all working. Amazing decor on the bed (fresh Bird of Paradise flower bouquet ). Shower is roof-less. The view from public areas is astounding. Breakfast was good local fare; didn't try dinner there. I wish I could have stayed longer! The WIFI signal was weak, couldn't do too much with it besides simple email. The road up is maybe not for everyone, but it is achievable with the right car and driver. You would need to arrange rides up and down the hill for traveling to town amenities. This place is best for staying at the location, not as a base-of-operations for frequent excursions. The view may just be enough! The bed flower had ants, but I just moved it, and wiped them away. Shower pressure and warm water was intermittent due to other demands. I'd still come again.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Great view and hospitality ! Thanks for making my 6 nights stay in Savusavu a memorable one :-)
Also very nice trip to rainbow reef ... such a underwater wonderland!
- Kris (10/5): Spectacular location, fabulous host and amazing stay! - This is a stunning property sitting high up on the hill giving it magnificent views over the bay. The property is beautiful maintained and Sharon, our host was magnificent. She shared her knowledge with us and made us feel completely at home. The staff were all very friendly and the homemade breakfast served on the deck was such a divine way to start the day. Oh that view! I could lose hours staring at it. I loved the pool and it was more than enough to dip in and freshen up. Our room also boasted a superb view and I thoroughly enjoyed a lazy morning from our bed watching the world go by. Sharon organised a massage therapist to come by and we had an outstanding massage on the deck of our room, such a treat to be massaged while hearing the wildlife and feeling the breeze! There is so much to love about this property and we will definitely be back! Nothing! Wish we had more days here to soak it all up.
- Myra (5/5): Definitely not for us…the hostess’ behavior is so unprofessional not our “cup of tea” she leaves an ugly bitter reviled - Ocean views were fantastic! The hostess /owner behaved inappropriately when we departed; kissed my husband goodbye on the cheek (we don’t even know her from Adam! ) ; she behaved inappropriately how she dresses around us…half of breasts were always exposed in a flimsy dress…after she changed from her work out clothes. She acts like she is nice with advising one thing good with touch of cruelty in her behavior/carrying-on.
She says she is very conscientious about health, a trainer, etc…and yet she has one of her driver pick us up from another hotel stay as a taxi service (which we paid for of course) in beat up truck with smog ridden exhaust, with mildew ridden all over on the ceiling of the truck. You can hear the driver was coughing and wheezing….i wonder where the those symptoms are coming from. The room we stayed in, the hot snd cold water showers were not operating properly in the room where we slept. You don’t know if you will get burned or get a cold shot; unpleasant!
We felt we need to tip -toe around this isolated 4-bedroom house and wirh spa treatments on a hilltop, and you either go to your room or to deck or the living room. You can sense her workers are at her mood-meter mercy. She has cameras in the living room by the kitchen sink and on the deck…and no disclosures to the fact .
- Alexandra (9/5): Breathtaking views, humble and sweet island lodge rooms with the best breakfast! - The breakfast was the perfect start to every day in paradise. Annie and the staff were really wonderful, and their kindness and hospitality really made the trip. The room was lovely and the view was breath taking. We had the loveliness private balcony, which we really liked to watch the sunset from. We never felt trapped even though it was a hike to get to, Sharon and the team were super helpful. The small pool on the property was lovely for a cool dip in the island heat and lots of sun beds to use. We loved our stay here! The air con having issues - but like I said, island life! Also just wish we had been a bit more organised and rented a 4WD straight away as climbing that hill or relying on the lodge driver was a bit tricky.
- Salome (10/5): Amazing stay with great views and food and wonderful people! - The Lodge itself and also all the staff were amazing! Even though the weather wasn't great, we had an amazing time at Naveria Heights Lodge. The view from the room was amazing and the food super delicious. Sharon was a great host and helped us out after we forgot our charger there to get it back. Her dog Zeus is also very cute :) and we got to go on a hike with him and Sharon.
We got a massage right there on the patio, which we can also recommend!
Also we did the river tubing organised by Sharon which was a lot of fun!
- Eva (10/5): Sunning down to every little detail. Nice owner and staff. Amazing breakfast. - The place is stunning down to every little detail. The owner and staff were very nice. Breakfast was amazing.
- Brenda (4/5): Disappointing - The staff were wonderful, and did what they could to make our stay enjoyable. A lovely breakfast each morning and we had dinner there 2 nights (due to the access of the premises it was easier to stay up at Naveria). Access is terrible, a very steep driveway that you cannot safely access Naveria Heights unless you are taken up and down by 4-wheel drive.
When we first arrived we were picked up and driven up the driveway with our suitcases (you CANNOT take them up yourself, it is too steep). However, when we went to leave, we had to pay $20 FJD to be taken to the bottom of the drive.
During our stay there, we could pay $20 FJD to go up and $20FJD to go down the driveway. Otherwise walk!
The access I believe is dangerous, we walked down once, and certain places we had to walk sideways. I was really worried I was going to fall over.
I believe access should be supplied to and from the premises, if it is unsafe.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, Everyone was welcoming. Very relaxing stay
- Isabel (10/5): amazing , healing. - the view, the lovely staff, the breakfast
- Peter (10/5): Great location and very comfortable. Great value - Great location and fabulous views Nothing
- Ana (10/5): A lovely place to stay - Amazing views and great relaxing atmosphere. Great staff and breakfast Be aware of a big hill you need to climb in order to arrive to the properly. But if you want the views….
- Stephanie (10/5): Annie and Serita(the staff) were so welcoming. That plus the view made for a wonderful experience - The property is absolutely beautiful. The view is majestic. Sitting on the veranda for breakfast was heavenly
- Christopher (7/5): Good but some questionable prices - Beautifully designed space with great views. Sarita, the live-in manager, was extremely friendly and welcoming. The lemon juice on arrival was delicious and the breakfast was generous. The bed was comfortable too. The extra services aren’t good value for money. The $30 airport transfer is four times the cost of a metered taxi and hardly justifiable by the last hundred metres of ascent that one can also just walk up (albeit people with mobility troubles will find it challenging). A dinner billed simply as a lentil soup costs $45 - very steep even by Fiji tourism standards. And the 4% surcharge on credit card payments is above the standard 1-3% across Fiji (and many other parts of the world). For a 4* place I might have expected at least the airport transfer to be included in the price of the stay.
- Mate (10/5): Stunning views and professional staff - Stunning views (and sunsets), thoughtful design, tasty breakfast, very professional and courteous staff. I would definitely come back. Nothing to complain about. As stated in the description the accommodation is reached through a short but very steep walk from the main road, or with a 4x4 car, so this needs to be factored in for those who feel uneasy about a steep climb. Otherwise, the accommodation is well located, close and accessible by walk from the center of Savusavu.
- Dhirendra (7/5): Good -
- Karri (9/5): We would stay again. - The view is spectacular. There is an array of furniture to lounge on. The friendly staff welcomed us like family.
- Louise (9/5): Superb -
- Hinderikus (10/5): Exceptional - We had the most wonderful stay, wish we could have stayed longer. Sharon and her team made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
- Juerg (9/5): excellent expirience! - it‘s an excellent place to stay, cosy rooms, very cordial and helpfull crew, with superb views all over the bay. the access might be a bit complicated without a 4x4 car and not brave enough to drive up yourself the very steep track 😊 But they are glad to help you!
- Serena (10/5): Spectacular view, superb service and ginger tea for my sore throat. - An amazingly situated property, making the best of the beautiful Savusavu vista. We loved being here and the lovely Sarita made it even better with her warm smile. Our room was also super lovely with its own verandah and views - a gorgeous place!
- Daniel (9/5): Short stay at Naveria Lodge - Great location for our short stop in Savusavu. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Handy location for a short walk to town (make sure you're ready for a steep hill walk up to the lodge). The walk up the hill is worth it for the views at the lodge and if you're not up for the walk the staff will arrange for a 4WD transfer to the centre of town. Would have been nice to have a door on the bathroom.
- Raoul (10/5): We loved it and would come back happily. - Beautiful gardens, one of the best view’s on the planet, friendly welcoming staff, tastefully decorated rooms with art and tasty breakfast. These is a formed path down to the steep driveway through attractive garden. The driveway. As a solution for the pedestrian I strongly recommend that a formed/stepped walkway be extended down to the main road.
- Amelia (8/5): Very good - We felt very at home with the warmth, care and attentiveness of the beautiful Serita and Ani.
Naveria heights lodge is very clean and beautiful. Loved the views and quiet location Lack of warm water and trek up and down the hill or having to pay for a taxi when maybe this could be an option in the booking
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - The view is outstanding.
Staff we wonderful, if felt like being welcomed home
- Claire (10/5): Awesome -
- Jose (1/5): Dissapointing, wouldn’t recommend for the money. - The view was stunning and the staff on site was very nice. The owner seems money hungry and wants to take as much as possible and give little in return. The property is in a difficult area to get to and only 4 runner vehicles can get to it. The property has two separate options of taxis that can reach the location making it very limited to be able to get transportation. Plus they charge you $40 each way to get up or down the mountain which makes it extremely expensive to get In and out of the lodge. I spent more money on transportation that I did on per night for the room. Not only that they refuse to pick you up until the time of your check In. our check in time is 12pm and they wouldn’t even pick us up until that time making us arrive to our booking over an hour after our booking time. Check out time is between 9:30-10:30 am making it less time to stay with their transport restrictions. What’s worse they don’t even offer dinner or lunch there so if you want to eat you have to pay more money to get up and down the hill just to get food. Plus when having an issue with payment method, while trying to find a resolve, speaking to the owner was more argumentative and insulting rather than solution based discussion.
- Jessica (9/5): Stunning views and amazingly welcoming staff - Ana and Nani were absolutely beautiful and made our stay amazing. Ana woke up early every morning to make our breakfast before we left and our room was made and the light left on for our late returns at night. The views are amazing, the property is beautiful, it felt like home and we loved staying at Naveria Heights. It is quite a steep hike to the property but was well maintained but it gave us motivation everyday. The water had to run for a while to get hot which we didn't have time for in the mornings.
- Liam (10/5): One of the best views I have ever seen!! Staff are fantastic - Gorgeous view and everything inside the property is aesthetically pleasing. You will not find a single thing on the property whether it is a mug, plate, piece of art, etc and not think “that is nice” it is very well put together.
Staff are excellent and many have worked with the owner for a decade. Hill is challenging and the vehicle requirements mean you will need a special 4x4. There are stairs from the parking lot if you are renting a car. No easy non vegetarian options at the property.
- Monica (9/5): THE place to stay if you’re after a tranquil base to explore Savusavu - Owner, staff, owner’s dog, breakfasts, pool, VIEWS, location, pool, massage, atmosphere, rooms, security Not a thing
- Catbear (10/5): Exceptional - An impeccable oasis 10 mins from town and hidden high up only accessible by 4WD, Sharon has lovingly created a harmonious and exceptional lodge with different room types to enhance the wellness and peace of this tranquil paradise! Assisted by her wonderful team Ani and Seretha who are fabulous cooks, offering delicious and mouthwatering local Fijian food and sharing wonderful knowledge of their country and customs. Sharon offered an individual program and holistic guidance to suit my personal goals and is the no 1 host for watersports, trekking, hiking and all-over fabulous activities you can enjoy in Savusavu! Her gorgeous dog Zeus and local mongoose residents Harry and Sally, as well as Licky the gecko, enrich this stunning lodge! Sharon's attention to detail and passion for offering us a luxurious, unique and serene experience is unequalled in this hidden paradise!
- Melanie (10/5): Amazing stay in paradise - We really liked the accommodation. The view is bombastic. To get there from the road you need a 4x4 car or a little bit of walking. It took us about 10 minutes to get down to the main road + another 10 minutes into town. There are several good restaurants and shops in the town. You can either get back to the accommodation by taxi or by walking up: from road to accommodation approx. 15 - 20 min.
The breakfast was exceptionally delicious. Fresh home-baked bread, lots of fresh fruit, good coffee... (vegan options also available). The whole team was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. You can feel the attention to the detail. Thank you Sharon and Team for the great stay.
All in all highly recommended! We would have liked a change of towels during these 4 nights (but we didn't actively ask for it). An additional clothes horse to hang up the wet towels and clothes would have been helpful.
- Ella (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing hostess, beauty, location, breakfast
- Monique (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (10/5): Absolutely magical stay in a glorious homely luxury apartment with views of the gods - A gorgeous gem in the rainforest. Views to just exhale for. Beautifully designed and loved. Maintenance continued with gardeners and housekeepers. The breakfast was organic and homemade and abundant. Sharon was so welcoming and made us feel at home. We had the chance to take a tour with Sharon and the hike waterfall river and hot mud baths did not disappoint along with roti and amazing company. A must visit and stay. Bula Bula Bula xx Nothing absolutely gorgeous. The only thing to not was extremely steep hill which I adored but could be challenging for less mobile people. 4 wheel drive taxi or pickup needed
- Hallie (10/5): This place was perfect! So glad we stayed here!! - Everything was well taken care of, lovely host, & beautiful view!!
- Rajeev (8/5): Overall, I felt the price seemed too high, so you are basically paying a lot extra for the panoramic views from the rear - It has been uniquely built, on top of a hill with some great views and kept immaculately clean. The location on top of a hill requires a 4 by 4 car to access, thereby costing extra for transport both ways.
- Sami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (7/5): NICE AND PEACEFUL BUT WOULDNT GO BACK FOR THE REASONS ABOVE . - AMAZING VIEWS, AND PEACEFUL LOCATION (FOR AN INTROVERT) BUT BASICALLY 'STUCK' THERE GIVEN THE HILL ACCESS. THE STAFF WERE FINE BUT REALLY PROVIDED THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM, OF 3 DAYS STAY, COOKED BREKKY DAY 1 ONLY , WE DIDNT JOIN EVENING MEALS (MAINLY VEG CURRY) ASKED FOR CUP OF TEA AND BISCUIT ONE AFTERNOON , GIVEN A TEABAG TO MAKE MY OWN AND NO FOOD AVAILABLE WITH IT NOT EVEN A CRACKER. GREAT PLACE FOR AN INTROVERT BUT OVERSOLD AS A LUXURY RESORT
- Pankaj (10/5): Spoiled and very cared for - Athu and Millie were incredibly attentive and caring. The property had a beautiful view, was very clean and well maintained, and had a very relaxed and home-like environment. The breakfast was wonderful too.
We also enjoyed the challenging walk down to town - it was an adventure, however it may be tough for certain guests.
- Noopur (10/5): Fantastic view and great hospitality - The property is located atop a hill and overlooks the bay. Gorgeous view and the ambience is perfect. We got the bamboo room with the pool right outside and the beautiful scenery behind. Property is a 5-mins drive to the town centre and eateries so it's super convenient. Only watch out is that you need a 4x4 vehicle to drive up to the property otherwise it's a long hike! The hospitality of the staff, especially Atu, Michael and Mili was exceptional as they looked after us very well and were available incase we needed anything. Overall, highly recommend! We'll be back hopefully soon.
- Zachariah (9/5): Really lovely guesthouse with fantastic staff! - The lodge is in such a beautiful location overlooking Savusavu Bay. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. The location is great and very close to town, but there is a steep incline driveway that only certain vehicles can get up.
- Sam (8/5): Very good - The panoramic breath taking view of Savusavu bay!!! The walk up to the property was a bit of a bother but great physically!
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional - Beautyful place and very friendly and warm welcoming staff. Incredible Breakfast with an unbeatable sight.
- Aileen (8/5): Peaceful stay with wonderful staff. - I had a lovely stay at Naveria. The staff were all so friendly and attentive throughout my stay. The breakfast and snacks were so fresh and delicious. It was a very peaceful place to rest and read a book while watching the sea. It is a long steep walk up a gravel road which can only be accessed by 4x4. There is a driver available for $20 per trip. It can be slippy going down. But the lodge has beautiful views being up so high.
- Naidu (7/5): Good - The lodge had a nice sea view from the balcony and even fom the bed in tbe lodge. The swimming pool was great and the furniture was comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The lodge room at transparent glass wall without any curtains from inside. This made us uncomfortable as there was no clear line for privacy. The bathroom and toilet is nicely built with great design but there seemed to be a drainage problem for the bathroom water outlet.
I may have missed out in the part or Naveria lodge did not place it on their website that one needs to have 4 x 4 vehicle to reach their property. If a customer does not have a 4 x4 vehicle then they surely do provide transport but that is seaparately charged.
- Chand (1/5): It’s was horrible to be honest to much drama with there stuff I paid mum massage $60 and one of stuff said I professiona - Bed room but no service room next day I chose because thought the property be like as in picture but car vehicle can’t go up we have use there taxi and pay $150
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing. It is up a hill where you have a beautiful view. With your breakfast it is just pure joy when you look out of the rest of the island. The staff was super nice and I really had a great time with the taxi driver. He literally drove me anywhere I wanted or needed to go. It didnt matter what time it was. Then only thing that was a bit challenging was the hill itself. When the taxi driver would pick me up and drive me up the hill it is okay. But when you have to walk it by yourself it is a big challenge. When I was there it rained a lot as well so it got pretty slippery as well. Other than that it was absolutely fantastic.
- Rosa (9/5): Social accomodation with gorgeous view - The view was amazing from the hotel.
The room was lovely, very comfortable with a mosquito net.
Michael the drivers was really lovely and would drive you anywhere although you will be charged for this at the end. Unlimited free water also which they filter rainwater for so that’s good!
Social accomodation so lots of going out for dinner together and activities.
- Venelina (10/5): Exceptional - If Savusavu area is the hidden gem of Fiji, Naveria Heights lodge and the surroundings are the jewel in the crown. A place of breathtaking view amids lush tropical vegetation, it urges you to slow down and embrace life fully. Everything was perfect - the view, the room, the breakfast, the hike in the jungle, the hike to the waterfalls and mud pools. Thank you, Sharon, for the experiences and creating this magical place that resonated deeply with me.
- Konstantin (8/5): Very beautiful and spiritful - Beautiful location, wonderful rooms, wonderful staff and food There was angebetetere down below making unpleasant noise
- Richard (4/5): If you need a stunning view and love hiking it’s a good place to go, if not, just go somewhere else - Stunning views, but be warned, the lodge sits on a hill about 100m above sea level. There is a very steep dirt track going up, 4wd only, And the lodge is serving lunch and dinner only sometimes, you have to go down to the village if you need anything. You can either walk, there are steps the last part up, but it’s a hard climb. There are one or two taxis that make the way though, but that takes you back around 20F$ each way.
The reward is stunning view from the deck, there is a little pool (not a pool really, just 3 by 3 meters in size) you can dip in and watch the bay. Just be careful walking around, the deck has no rails in parts and it goes down steep.
The staff is very kind and friendly, they will help you with anything. A big thank you to Millie, heart and soul oft he lodge.
Unfortunately the owner was out most of the time, so when the staff went home at 6 only the guests were left. It’s not that it‘s unsafe up there, but there should be someone around to take care of the place. And if the owner is in, it could be that the place goes dark after nine. So, no sitting on the deck, have a nice drink and enjoy a cool breeze.
And there are very strict rules, don’t dare walking around in shoes, and be warned again, there are surveillance cameras around the place (just for protection of the property, but one never knows, so be careful what you do).
Can’t say much about the rooms, a had the „studio“. Not what one expects for 225 F§ a night. A small 10 square meter room, a tiny bathroom with no door, and a lamp at the entrance hanging down to 1,5 meters height, so a banged my head a few times. It’s only 1,9 meters from floor to ceiling, in parts only 1,8 meters. So, it’s not for tall people. The „studio“ is underneath the side oft he lodge, it’s a bit noisy when other guests walk around on the deck. Not a room really, just a little den to sleep in. Just far too expensive for what you get, even if Savusavu is pricy, one can do better around there.
- Lauren (10/5): Beautiful location, food and even better staff!! - Tour guide Michael and kitchen staff were extremely generous and made our stay!! Breakfast was amazing - complimenting the beautiful panoramic view. We recommend doing the morning hike/ run with Sharon, as well as visiting the natural waterfalls, lakes and hot mud pool (watch out for falling coconuts!!) Extremely high surcharge if using card - make sure to bring cash!! also need to be very fit to walk up/ down the steep driveway.
- Keshwan (9/5): Superb - Location and rhe staff The driveway to the hotel is a NIGHTMARE.
Cars can't go up to the hotel.
It's a very steep walk about good 15 mins.
Unless u have made arrangements with management to get picked up.
If not, one has to walk up and down the hills.
In the night, u can't walk the driveway as there are no lights.
Unless u use a torch or light from ur mobile phone.
The bathroom has a curtain but no door or privacy from the toilet.
Wish there was a door to the toilet.
- Monica (10/5): Luxurious, cosy, treehouse - So much love and care in every element Nothing. I was prepared to struggle with the driveway but the walk up and down was fine!
- Dorris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was excellent. Fantastic views. Could not fault the local staff, they were very friendly and helpful. The climb up and down the hill from the main road. As the property is only accessible with a 4WD vehicle, transport from/to the airport should be included not an added extra
- Miker (8/5): Special place to stay with an access challenge! - Stunning location, most of the staff were outstandingly helpful and friendly. Great small pool. Breakfasts were great served on a deck with very beautiful views and sunrises. Parking is 90 meters vertical below the lodge unless you have a 4 wheel drive (then it is 30 m below)! If you walk from the bottom, it is like walking up to your room in a 20 story building. Gravel road is steep and it is easy to slip and fall on the way down.
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional - We had an amazing stay at Naveria Heights Lodge. We live in Fiji and this was the best place we've stayed so far! Atu and Mili were so accomodating and friendly, doing everything they could to make our stay wondefcul. The lodge is beautifully built and decorated, and is prestine! And the view....wow! Nothing like it, it's like a brain bath. The garden was beautiful and green & breakfast was delicious - homemade bread and museili! The room was fantastic and very well decorated. Thank you for an amazing weekend getaway from Suva!
- Anick (10/5): Exceptional - This room, the view and the place are an absolute paradise! Omg better than the pictures. Atu, Milli and Sarita are amazing hosts, they treated us like family and help us move around and took care of me when I got sick. The breakfast is beautiful and plenty. You need to try the dinner home-made cooking, delicious, local and made with love!
Savusavu is a small village. There is a lot to do on the island, but walking distance from the lodge you will find some restaurants, groceries and a few point of interest. We loved that this place is not full of tourist (yet) and carter to the local population instead. You need insect repellant. The room is well isolated, but once outside, there are mosquitoes!
The walk up and down to the lodge takes about 10min, it's steep and slippery. I would not recommend doing it with luggage. Only 4WD can do it, not taxi. Get them to pick you up.
- Leanne (7/5): I ended up staying for 7 days. The view was fantastic, staff lovely. - Breakfast was lots of fruit and breads with spreads. Occasionally got eggs as well.
Rosa and Jasmin could not do enough for us. They were courteous and went out of there way to make my stay great. The very steep gravel driveway. I am a reasonably fit 56 yo and found the driveway steep and slippery to climb as well as descend. there was a truck but that cost $20 each time we went up and down the drive. (Although my last trip was only $10) No other taxi's would go up.
Another dislike was the security cameras. I understand them on the outside for security but these were in the living areas, on the deck and over the plunge pool. It felt like we were being watched constantly. Very invasive. (they weren't in the bedrooms). One other dislike was the lights went out at 9.30 so you had to go to your room or play cards in the dark.
- Robyn (6/5): Pleasant - a feeling of being above it all, like staying in an eyrie. the steep access, requiring a four wheel drive vehicle, to a parking area then A steep walk up from the parking area to the accommodation.
a fare of 20FJD from a local to take you up or down if you couldn’t do the walk. I slipped while trying to walk down.
- Jason (9/5): Naveira is a relaxing paradise located in lush forest, impeccably presented with breathtaking views - Breakfast was excellent, loved the home3 made lemon drink very refreshing and the green juice Nothing - it was great.
- Pratibha (10/5): Exceptional - Property is amazing. Very clean. Staff are friendly. Sharon is a loverly host. Sarita and Atu are wonderful staff.
- Bruce (9/5): This was a unique experience , amazing views amongst tropical jungle . - Breakfast was beyond expectations and a real treat .
We basically got a full breakfast with fruit / yogurt , and then eggs and toast offered .
The Staff went beyond to see that we satisfied .
- Jenna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Sharon and Jeff are legendary hosts. Thanks for the hospitality and sharing some cool stories. I had a great time and I'm looking forward to going back again soon.
- Zbynek (5/5): Passable -
- Andrew (9/5): thanks for a lovely stay :) - the incredible views
friendly staff with excellent recommendations
lovely sun beds
awesome breakfast have to be prepared to get sweaty to make it up the hill if you walk to town
felt like thin walls so you could hear faint outside noises. not a major issue
- Andra (9/5): excellent - The views are stunning at the lodge and the staff are friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was excellent and overall the stay was pure bliss. The only caution I have is that the walk up the hill is not for the faint of heart but I will say it is worth it!
