Guest Reviews
- Marli (7/5): Nice location - Location Kitchenette not really a kitchen very small
- Debbie (10/5): We really enjoyed staying here. The bed was comfy, the room was lovely, great to swim in the pool and the staff were fri - Close to all the shops and restaurants as well as a short walk to the marina or beach. Loved the pool
and the room was just what was needed as we spent most of the day out exploring. The only problem was the annoying light in the tv when it was switched off. We now know why the wall plug was switched off except that was behind the microwave so a bit hard to get to in the middle of the night. đ
- Bern (4/5): - Very central location The room had a very musty smell in the hall way access and in the room, concrete outside deck looking onto a concrete wall and the apartment looked very tired.
- David (9/5): Stay was amazing staff fantastic especially when air con went out in power cut - Great location all facilities close Ramp into car park did damage to hire car
- Rhonda (10/5): Just perfect get away - The location and the whole experience was perfect Can't recall anything we didn't like
- Kathryn (4/5): -
- Rebecca (7/5): Good location, ask for a ground floor or above room. - Central location. Staff were lovely. My room was below street level and had a high wall in the courtyard, no other windows. Felt a little claustrophobic.
- Diane (8/5): - Location Pool and rooms need a massive refurbished
- Leeza And Luke (8/5): - Close to everything I needed. Building going on.
- Raewin (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Letitia (2/5): - Location was the only thing that kept us there We went down the stairs that read the garage/ rubbish / laundry area. Opening the door to the unit, it was so musty smelling I couldn't breathe. The air con was so noisy, I had to buy ear plugs asap. The cutlery was dirty as there is no dish washer, so I guess people just rinsed cutlery not washed it properly. Shower didn't have higher enough lip on closing so water just flooded the floor.

- Vanessa (10/5): Stayed with my husband for a short breaking Port Douglas - I love the pavilions. We say there a lot. Itâs a great property and right in the middle of town so easy walking distance to everywhere. Nothing it is well kept and maintained and the staff are fantastic
- TANYA (10/5): - Location Location Location is perfect
Walking distance everywhere. We didnât need to utilise car parking. Property a little tired, suited us and would stay again
- Maurice (8/5): Central apartment on McCrossan -
- Ashley malcolm (10/5): - Location Bed single ply tiolet paper
- bkermack (10/5): Mini break - Great location, clean room, very friendly staff N/a
- Karen (8/5): Great place to stay! - Location was great, restaurants & shops fantastic!
Clean & spacious!
- Edwina (9/5): -
- Annemieke (8/5): - The location was excellent, situated in the heart of Port Douglas, handy to the marina for reef cruise.
The room although a bit small, had everything needed for the short stay.
- Karen TUNKS (8/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): Perfect location, lovely rooms, exception service from staff. - Location was right in the main street, perfect. Room was very clean and well kept, pool was very well kept clean and inviting. Staff were amazing, so helpful in recommending places to see or go, they bend over backwards to help us in any way they could. The noise from building next door, but this was out of the Silkari's control, parking downstairs was a bit tight but again we were given information on best way to exit.
- Sue (7/5): Great location great staff rooms bit tired - Bathroom kept flooding out of shower area so we went through lots of towels to keep dry. As above
- John (7/5): Convenient location and pleasant helpful staff - The location was excellent and the pool was great. The room was small and the only place for our suitcases was on the floor. The room and bathroom needed updating.
- David (6/5): Great staff and very clean facility - Shannon was brilliant and moved us when we had a problem and the facility is kept very clean and is in exceptional condition great position in town There is an on going problem with the adjoining construction site the guys think it's funny to fire up a circular saw up at 7.15 and shout while banging hammers We were told that there was work opposite but not 1500mm from the balcony
Terrible behaviour from Northern Building and Construction Shannon is not able to do anything with these dinosaurs but when the work is done the Pavillions are great
- Avis (9/5): - Facilities were great, spa bath was wonderful and the kitchenette very well equipped. Shannon was extremely helpful and came out to assist to get my suitcase up the stairs at 00:30 at night!!! Some small damage to be repaired and a bit of extra cleaning, but I really loved the room.
- Kylie (8/5): -
- Marcela (10/5): - Amazing property! Everyone was so lovely. Shannon was very informative and shared amazing knowledge of recommendations to do in Port Douglas. Lovely customer service. Prices affordable. Room was tidy snd clean.
Parking in the hotel property was very narrowed and difficult to park, this was the only downside. However overall experience was excellent and enjoyable
- Susan (6/5): Not as hoped. - In the centre of town, great locations. The bed is terrible in room 1, got a lean to the left so nearly rolled out all night, and springs were âpingingâ in the middle of the night.
Construction going on at the back, not their fault, but so very close to the verandah which has been let go.
Car parking very tight.
- Carmel (10/5): - The staff were very accommodating when we made an error in our booking. They were exceptional in ensuring our stay was super comfortable!
- Brian (9/5): Enjoyed the location and closeness to shops - N/A Would have preferred walk in shower
- Jenny (10/5): -
- Paula (8/5): - Service and check-in, very friendly and professional.
- marlene (10/5): - Location, location, friendly staff, spacious rooms and lovely sitting on balcony, comfortable, quiet. Very happy would stay again.
- Jack (9/5): - Nice central location in the town. The staff and pool were lovely The bathrooms were a bit old. A few things were broken or on their way to being broken. The car park was also a little tight
- Margaret (9/5): -
- Maureen (9/5): Convenience plus - Great location. Fantastic staff ( Irish girls)
Off street parking Not the fault of the property or staff, and we were pre informed, but building works going on next door - literally feet away from, and overlooking balcony.
- Steve (8/5): We were pleased with our choice. - The location is great. Everything within walking distance. Pool was a little small, and not enough loungers.
- Lindsey (4/5): - Very cramped space for 2 people
Musty smelling room
Multiple attempts to see someone at reception
just a note in window saying Will be back soon
Could do with a makeover
Quite disappointed
Swimming pool looked dirty would not swim in it.
Parking facilities were good
Location was very good.
- Haselroither (9/5): - Central location was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful. Will be returning next year because of these factors. Don't have any negative comments.
- Lorraine (10/5): -
- Julianne (8/5): - Great position in town but it is tired and needs renovation
- Sue (7/5): -
- Horsley (8/5): -
- Kathryn (9/5): Fabulous - Great location, friendly, helpful staff, good facility for price, had everything we needed, quiet and relaxed Canât think of anything
- Philippa (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (10/5): Central, nice and great staff - Top floor unit at the back was very quiet and relaxing. Spacious apartment with wooden sliding door to close off bedroom if desired.
Sharp knives were not very sharp but that is always the case at motels. Ceiling fan in bedroom was a bit too low so it always felt too strong. Spa bath in shower was a nice bonus. Easy walking distance to everything on Macrossan St. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Lovely place.
- Evan (4/5): - Room was tiny and badly laid out. Lighting poor. Room was extremely small and the layout, especially the area for the bench, kettle toaster etc was terrible. Supposed to have a spa tub but it didnât work. Only savings graces were the location and the staff who were smiling and helpful.
- Liping (10/5): - The room was spacious and clean. We thought the limited front desk time would be challenging but they communicated well with easy instructions so no problem at all. The pool is a bit kiddish but I donot come to Port Douglas to swim in a pool. Parking space is tight but manageable.
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional - Was located near everything, not far to walk, close to everywhere i needed to go, staff was amazing, friendly, they go out of their way to help...
- Warrengday (9/5): Great apartment in centre of town - Young Irish Lady on reception was amazing: welcoming, helpful, great service booking return coach and not charging any money until booking confirmed. Room/suite was great: huge living room with kitchen in corner, separate bedroom with ensuite. Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. Balcony with view of a few trees. Balcony view was of concrete: big apartment building being built next door. Didn't use balcony as just had the view of a couple of big palm trees. Stayed here two years ago and view was of a whole mini forest of palm trees, but now a new building is going on up right next door.
- Wright (9/5): Great little hotel in the heart of Port Douglas - Location, in the midst of shops, restaurants, bars & near the marina.
Niamh (hope I spelled that correctly) on reception was lovely she was helpful & friendly.
I was pleased with the room, it was enough for a few nights, overlooking the pool & glimpses to the shops. The pillows were too high & uncomfortable, I should have asked to have them changed so I take responsibility for that
- Angela (8/5): Great location - The location is perfect if you want to be close to restaurants and shops. Short walk to the beach. Neve at reception was friendly and accommodating. We had a studio room which was very small but comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. The small studio doesnât have a kitchen sink. Would be good to have a dish. Bathroom isnât really suitable. Shower over spa is a bit difficult to get in and out of. No safety rail. Water pressure was poor.
- Sean (7/5): Great - Location was brilliant Construction work backing on to our balcony (of which we were told before arriving) but could sit on balcony during the day
- Ann (10/5): - Beautiful spacious 2 bed apartment in a very central location but still quiet in the apartment. Perfect location for shops, restaurants, bars, beach and easy pick up location for tours to reef and Daintree.
- Michael (10/5): Value for money - Great location, nice spacious apartment.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Kelly (8/5): Great location, but you will need to go up and down the stairs - Location was fantastic. The girl at reception was very helpful and friendly. The apartment was great and I loved the spa bath There was only 1 bottle of hand/body wash. Needs to be 1 in the shower and 1 at the handbasin. We were on ground level, which you had to walk downstairs to get to, which didn't bother us but may someone else. There is construction happening, which we were advised about, but the little patio will now look onto another building. The Shower could do with some maintenance, new shower head and somewhere to put soap etc.
- Daryl (1/5): Unacceptable - Location The building works were at our balcony, very noisy from 7am, dusty and the tradesmen radio and bad language was unacceptable. The room was musty, damp and dark due to the construction works. Curtains had to remain closed for privacy.
The manager was excellent, acknowledged our complaint and immediately relocated us to their sister property further down the street which was terrific and heaps better. Thank you for moving us to a better property.
- Mick (8/5): ideal location, well-designed and spacious - great location on the main drag, Macrossan Street, where all the restaurant and bar action happens; the apartment was very spacious, with an open-planned living area and a good kitchen the balcony was spacious but the view was mainly of another apartment block 20 feet away; the neighboring apartment block was under construction and radiated noise from workers' machine tools and music from their boom boxes, which meant that using the balcony during working hours wasn't really an option, but to be fair, we'd been warned about this from Silkhari before we made the booking; off-street parking, (in the basement carpark), was very limited
- Shawn (5/5): Passable - The location was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was not cleaned and the parking situation as I do not like parking my car out on the streets. It needs more parking for people who stays in the complex. and I have a lot of photos of the place where it is dirty but I only can upload four pictures. The property was not clean at all. as I am a cleaner myself and the property was not up to standards it was a lot of dust and mould.
- Mark (8/5): - Great location
- William (8/5): Very good - Central location, lovely pool, good size apartment.
Kitchenette.
Proximity to supermarket and restaurants. Lower ground floor, unable to dry clothes, even on outside deck.
Bed on wheels moves, we found putting the complement slippers under the wheels worked a treat.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - The space and location Looking at a building site from the porch.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Serena (10/5): - Great small place right on the main strip. Modern rooms and bathroom, close to the restaurants and shops so felt very comfortable here.
- Vanessa (10/5): Love The Pavilions - We have stayed at the pavilions before and love it and love the location and I love the new manager. Shannon and Niamh on reception was great as well. just fantastic people to deal with and gave us some great local locations to discover that we had never seen before. Nothing we love the pavilions
- L (10/5): Exceptional - Conveniently located, walking distance to everything.
- L (10/5): Exceptional - Conveniently located in centre of town walking distance to everywhere. Staff extremely helpful. Great stay! Thank you
- Conor (9/5): Superb -
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (7/5): The unit was perfect for us, just missing a little attention to detail. No chopping board or decent knife. - The location was excellent, walking distance to everything The pool needs a good clean
- Jennifer (8/5): - The location was central and walkable to most things. The unit on the lower level, as I have mobility problems, allowed for easy access to unit, car parking and the main shopping and dining areas. we enjoyed our stay.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (10/5): Best little resort on the port - Rooms were so clean and huge and so close to the centre of Port. Easy access to carpark and room key after hours. Definitely will stay there again. A+ I couldn't stay longer
- Sheree (6/5): Pleasant - Location Tiny apartment no where to fit suitcase
No plug in Bathroom dirty old blinds in bathroom
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Glenda (9/5): Great place to stay, lovely friendly staff - Great location A little out dated, but very clean and comfortable
- Anne (10/5): - Large room with kitchenette and separate bedroom.
Excellent location. In the centre of the 'tourist area', steps to numerous bars and restaurants. Grocery store / bottle store 3 minute walk.
Covered secure parking.
Our balcony faced the rear of the property, where construction is underway on a new building. Not a problem for us (they advised us before our arrival of the construction to allow us to change) but, it may block the view when completed.
Great place to stay in Port Douglas.
- Christine (8/5): Lovely quiet stay, room was very clean and comfortable. Staff (Amy) was friendly, efficent and welcoming. Thank you - Location, Cleanliness, Staff Carpark was very unkept and smelt awful.
- Reeve (10/5): great - center of town stairs
- Lynette (9/5): Superb -
- Cassie (4/5): Needs improvement. - Decent Aircon and fridge size.
OK size room with large bed. Bath did not work
Fan did not work
Bathroom smelt really bad
Only view was scaffolding within touching distance of the balcony.
Bad paking spaces.
Only free to air Tv
- Warren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandre (10/5): - I can only describe my stay here as perfect. I had an incredibly busy schedule, with 2 full-day activities booked in my 2-night stay, arriving after midnight on the first day. This timetable does not fit well with the reception times for check-in and check-out, but after communicating my situation to the staff they easily offered me options to make it work, even keeping my luggage after the check-out. Here, let me specifically cite the manager Shannon, whose attention I can only qualify as delightful.
The rooms were large and comfortable offering all the expected amenities and prepared to keep you safe in such a tropical and wildlife-vibrant environment.
Regarding the location, for me it is also perfect, right in the middle of Port Douglas, with many restaurants and grocery stores just some steps away, and the marina where you board the boats to explore the Great Barrier Reef is just 10-15 minutes by walking.
This property will be first on my list for my next stay at Port Douglas.
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (6/5): Building site very loud - Location Pool area very basic
- Nik (8/5): Cute Hotel in town - Great location, right in the main street, nice and quiet.
- Alexander (7/5): Good -
- Rina (7/5): Good - The location was excellent - it was right on the doorstep of the main street and easy access to the main attractions. The reception staff, especially Sarah and Shannon were very helpful at all times. We booked the studio room. Overall, we would have preferred a slightly larger room for the length of our stay, which was 10 nights. Other issues included- no separate washbasin for plates, glasses, etc - we had to use the bathroom sink. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Also, with the shower located in the spa bath, we had to step in and out without access to hand rails, which was a bit difficult.
- Vena (8/5): Very good - The king size bed was great, nice size room
- Rachael (6/5): Pleasant - On Macrossan Small room
Tired
- Karon (8/5): Great location and good value. - Clean and comfortable, friendly helpful staff. My door lock was broken when I arrived so I couldnât get into my room, but the reception staff were great and got it fixed as soon as they could.
- Jarryd (10/5): Exceptional - They let me check in 2hrs early at no extra cost. Great communication, the room was clean and had everything it needed. No complaints
