Guest Reviews
- Candice (8/5): - Ella and her family were super friendly and welcoming! Always giving us advice on where to go as tourist and how to navigate Nadi. Our room was close to reception so not as much privacy but did not bother us that much. Overall was a good experience :)
- Grant (7/5): Good - Lovely large room, nice pool and friendly helpful staff. No breakfast, not sure if any food is available.
The motel is a long way from any shops, in the middle of no more.
- Géza Attila (1/5): Very bad! - Nothing. You can't relax, Bangladeshi workers are yelling and spitting at the construction site opposite, the manager and the hotel management don't care about the guest's comfort, they shout at 7:00 in the morning, don't ask the hotel manager for a taxi because he will cheat you! The pool is dirty and infectious, I got diarrhea, there is no cleaning, the noise of the planes is horrible, the worst hotel I have ever been to!😞
- shah (10/5): - The environment The water pressure was very low
- Nicolas (10/5): - Staff was really helpful
- Ravaele (10/5): - Facility was clean
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ilimeleki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madeline (4/5): Disappointing -
- Bryan (8/5): Convenient location. Comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Great Value! - convenient location. Comfortable. Friendly helpful staff.
- Gail (8/5): Very good - We liked the friendliness of Ella, who was wonderfully hospitable. She always answered any questions we had and was very helpful. We felt secure there. We liked the spaciousness and cleanliness and quirkyness of the villa. Good to have air-conditioning in two rooms. It took a bit to get used to the dark decor just at first, but then we found it was fine with the lights on, and cool.
- Tommie (8/5): Very good - Bed is comfy and interior design is quite nice. Ella is very warm and friendly. Ventilation is not that good. Facilities rather old.
- Tongia (8/5): Was good and worth the price and a central location from surrounding locations to visit - Location was great and the room size and Beds were comfortable and clean 👌 Probably food availability like a Cafe
- Leethur (5/5): Passable - The environment was wonderfully peaceful, and we had an amazing time at the pool. Sadly, my allergies to dust and fumes flared up during our stay it was quite uncomfortable.
- Lidefi87 (9/5): Nice place to stay and even nicer people managing it - Ella manages the property and she's a really nice and welcoming person, she made me feel right at home. The rooms were nice and had everything we needed, even a kitchen, which was great for me as I like making my own breakfast. There was also a pool, but I didn't use it because we were out most of the time.
The place itself is a bit out of town, but not too bad, we rented a car, so we could reach the city and the marina quite quickly.
I'd also recommend chatting to Ella more. I did not ask very much for advice as I'm often quite an independent traveller, but when sharing our day with Ella she almost always mentioned that she could have offered something to make our trip a bit easier. So make the most of her knowledge. There is not much public light around the area and when we first arrived it was very dark and I was a little concerned I may chosen the wrong place to stay. It was all good though as the place turned out to be quite lovely.
You could hear the airplanes going over the hotel as they land or depart from Nadi airport. I'm quite a heavy sleeper, so could not hear them once I was sleeping, but maybe it's not ideally for light sleepers.
- Itesh (8/5): Very good -
- Guy (5/5): Passable -
- Saffiyah (10/5): True Fijian hospitality - Fantastic place with excellent management.
Loved our stay, vinaka Ella for making my mums stay special, you're amazing 🧡.We'll be back.Vinakavaka Levu to you both.
- Sarit (7/5): The owner is really really nice! The room was an apartment. We dint have the chance to use the pool and the location nee - The apartment was big , lots of space and organized kitchen, AC. Wifi dint work so good
- Gregory (8/5): Very good -
- Sylvia (7/5): Comfortable and excellent folks . - Friendly people. Manager Ella is an excellent host. She went way above what is required of her. I went to Fiji with my spouses co-worker and his spouse, this group selected the location, private pick-up from airport and private car rental arrangement(because regular car rental was extremely pricey). I have read some “uncomfortable” reviews of the facility and of the manager by the group who selected the place. In NO WAY Ella asked for cash for the facility . Once the “the group” heard there is a fee for “Credit Card Payment “, he asked Ella to accompanying us to the nearest $ exchange place . By any means this is not a water front fancy resort . The “group” wanted cooking facility hence - you get what you paid for . Comfortable and economical. Facility was clean , the grounds were clean and even the owners who reside in another country(was visiting the pace)were excellent . The owner even made me a breadfruit dish that I haven’t tasted for 40 years! It was a bit darker for my taste . I do like airy facilities.
- Om (1/5): Bad - This place is in farm and literally nothing nearby. It has very poor road access. The property is managed by team who care about themselves and not customer. The property condition is generally OK but lighting and air conditioning is bad. The property manager ask for FJD cash so make sure you have money to cover stay.
Do not ask for airport pickup by property manager because it will be very expensive and they charged me about FJD 70. Taxi fare from Nadi airport to Tahals is about FJD 15 so instead take cab.
Do not ask property manager for rental car. They made sheddy deal to torture customer. I made mistake of trusting property manager to arrange rental car during my stay. This was worst experience because the car condition was horrible and got flat tire multiple times
- Bond (10/5): Lovely rooms and hospitality for a short stay and rest - Needed a room to myself after a lifetime of hostels before I traveled the islands.
Got a beautiful large room with a double bed and ensuit. Where I stayed theres I think 3 rooms that open into a shared lounge and kitchen. Small bottled water and carton of milk provided on arrival along with tea coffee and papaya during my stay.
Owners were lovely and took me to the supermarket when I arrived as it was during Diwali so they would have been closed the next day. Invited me to a member of staffs house for a meal on Diwali night. The location is remote but I kinda knew that I just wanted a good sleep. You can walk to the beach where smugglers cove/ bamboo is etc but I would only do this during daylight. So if you wanted to stay here and dine out in the evening you would require taxis
- Martins (10/5): Exceptional - Super nice place and super kind stuff working here. The best place I stayed ever. I feel like at home. I am very happy for my choice.
- Xiao (9/5): Super great hospitality! Thank you so much! - The owners were very nice people, top notch hospitality and made sure that we had everything for our stay. They organised trips to and fro different locations for us and even enquired about our safety when we came home a bit later one night. The location is close to the city and beach as long as you’re willing to drive or catch a taxi.
- Mollie (8/5): Very good -
- Filimone (9/5): Superb -
- Ramaninder (10/5): Really great experience. Ella is amazing host. Mr Tahal and rest of the staff didn’t let us feel that we are away on hol - Ambience was great. Felt like living with family. Ella look after us really well Just the location is too close to airport. You can hear planes flying late night as well
- Wilson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maksim (8/5): A special place for a special experience. It is worth checking. Particularly, the roof - - It is a very special place for a special experience. It is probably not for you if you like regular hotels. However, if you want something that you haven't met before, it is worth checking
- The hosts were very kind and let me install my ham radio antennas on the roof
- It was a nice idilic view and overall experience of the place - The electric noise from LED lamps or similar sources were high. It is not a problem for 99.9% of visitors but for ham radio, it was a problem despite a remoteness of location. It was something very local and LED lamps are a primary suspect for that
- Bryan (10/5): Amazing and beautiful place stay to spend holidays - Really loved the property, the design of it was like a cruise ship,it felt as if I was on a cruise ship. The interior decor was just amazing, the bedroom walls and design was like a luxury yacht, even the kitchen was fully furnished with everything available. Just so amazing and beautiful.Amazing place to spend holidays on weekends and worth the money. Very friendly and caring staff as well. As it’s a private property, so I guess if they had a mini bar or something so can have few drinks near the pool. Otherwise I love everything about the place. And very friendly staff as well
- Haley (10/5): Ella is a wonderful host! Very friendly and helpful with the local environment, thanks a bunch -
- Marta (9/5): Superb - Staff was really welcoming and communicative.
- Regina (10/5): Cozy stay with wonderful people - The room is huge with complete facility. Clean and spacious. It also has backyard where you can see beautiful sunrise every morning. This is a family owned hotel, so you can feel just like home when you stay there. The best part is Ella, amazing woman who manage this place. Ella had been soo kind, friendly, and helpful during my stay. She helped me a lot to book a day trip to the island. She was type of person whom you can always count on. I think every hotel needs people like Ella. Highly recommended place in Nadi. Nothing. Well there was no restos or cafes nearby but the hotel can always get you a taxi.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Ella and the driver were absolutely fantastic—so friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Their hospitality made my experience even better. I would definitely stay here again!
- Graham (8/5): We really enjoyed our stay & the hospitality provided by Ella. - Ella, the onsite manager, was extremely helpful & friendly. There were 8 in our group & we fitted comfortably in 2 spacious villas. Each of the 5 bedrooms had an ensuite. We enjoyed BYO drinks & snacks on the rooftop lounge or the covered BBQ area outside our villas. The property has a new swimming pool. Parking for our 2 vehicles was a bit tight but free.
- Luke (9/5): Comfortable and relaxing stay with a welcoming environment. - The property was very unique, as all three rooms we booked came out to one common area. This worked well for us as we had 5 people.
The staff were extremely welcoming from start to finish. Showing us the room, answering questions and booking us a reliable taxi service. Everything was great however the showers lacked pressure and heat. This was ok for us as we only stayed one night, and the heat isn’t too much of an issue as you’re in Fiji!
- Anne (9/5): Great for port and airport access - Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Uniquely unuque design. One of a kind. Arranged taxi service. One room ran out of hot water. Location a little isolated.
- Bruno (10/5): Exceptional - Kindness of the people at every level.
I thanks M. & Ms TAHALS for their kindness and Ela MATAITINI for her professionnalism and kindness Everything was perfection, nothing to complain of.
- Helen (9/5): Great first night in Fiji, super friendly people! - Ella and all the other people at Tahals were super friendly. The sheets and towels were so clean and felt so nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had such a lovely stay! (
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanliness is top notch and essentials such as towels, soap, tp, tea, bar fridge and kettle were all provided unlike other properties that charge more for the room and don’t provide these things. Also has a wonderful view if you get the room at the very top. The bed was very comfortable and very clean. Had a well rested nights sleep. AC works great too especially with the heat in Nadi. The location and the receptionist are easy to find and welcoming. Not difficult to find now as they have a big sign outside to help first timers. Great place to stay in as it surely feels like home away from home.
- Nina (10/5): Excellent, warm, friendly, cozy. Ella & John took great care of us. Even though we arrived late at night, they took - Cozy, clean, affordable, super helpful, a warm Fijian welcome! Zero. All good.
- Oliver (8/5): Very good - This is a homestay like no other, like a ship on a field with very fancy interieur. The place is located on Fantasy Road, which fits well to the atmosphere of the place. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, especially Ella, who received me warmly and helped me to move in.
In essence, it is a vacation apartment with multiple rooms and all kinds of amenities. I booked only a single room and got a single room with in-suite bathroom, refrigerator and tea/coffee maker. All was very clean and well kept. The location is on a field, about 1 km from Queens Road and just a few minutes by car from Nadi airport (which is why you should expect to hear some planes). There lots of restaurants and shops along Queens Road. WiFi was fast and I could park my car safely on the premises. Recommended for a short stay or layover. Having your own transportation makes things easier.
- Kamila (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at Tahals villas was very special thanks to the very welcoming manager Ella. She has helped us every step of our way making our travel through Fiji much more comfortable and pleasant. The beds are very comfortable and the living area is very big, just for yourself. You can cook there, all utensils are there and great space to chill as well as it is surrounded almost by 360° windows. Great value for money and you can even do your laundry if needed. Thank you so much for all Ella. You have been an amazing host.
- Slameko (9/5): Superb -
- Aaron (10/5): Excellent - The staff is super nice and helpful.
- Francis (1/5): Bad - Not what I expected. It’s more like a home stay that’s a bit hidden away. For me, it was underwhelming that after reaching the property I immediately had to cancel our stay and move to another hotel.
- Ronzo84 (9/5): Superb -
- Mingfeng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (2/5): Very very disappointed and the charged us 4%for our trouble No compensation!! - Not much Bare electrical cable in shower cubicle. Hot water heater broken They forgot we were booked in for the night so all in darkness on arrival. Taxi driver would not leave us until someone arrived to let us in.
- Silvia (7/5): Ok stay, which otherwise would have been unpleasant, if not because of the host - The hospitality of the caretaker, Ella - who cares about all our needs The poor building quality, such as doors that are stuck, or handle that fell off with pointing screws out, hot water that didn’t work.. The facilities(TV that didn’t work) & amenities (such as hand soap, shampoo & conditioners that are using self-made packs with dodgy paper labels, or already used by prior guests)
- Flora (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Nadi - Fantastic place, really clean and comfortable. Friendly and welcoming.
- Willz (10/5): Boathouse Villa - Tahals staff were great! My husband and I were booked elsewhere...unfortunately that fell through and Tahals holiday villa took us in within minutes. Ella greeted us and made us feel welcomed. The hosts and staff were hospitable, the facilities were clean and spacious. We were aware of the planes going over but, we never heard it when we went to bed. It was perfect for us. Thank you Tahals There was nothing to dislike
- Mark (3/5): Superb??? What happened to honest reviews? - We picked this place for its proximity to airport and harbour as we were heading out to an island resort. It’s location is essentially between these two spots, but in the middle
Of nowhere. Down a lonely rural road, right on to a dirt road to arrive to a field with a gate. Our taxi driver was a bit nervous and couldn’t wait to get out of there, which was a little funny. Our room was in the back of a garage type structure, door didn’t have a lock or close properly. Construction materials everywhere. No food or drink, but Ella, our sympathetic and very kind host offered to walk us to the main road and in another 300 meters to a small
Mall that had a restaurant. Walking back in the dark on the rural road was interesting (thankful for phone flashlights). With the exception of the very sympathetic Ella - it was all a bit strange. Picture a home Made spaceship. Using poor materials, in a field.
strange ideas and poor construction. Which might be fun for some travellers, but definitely not on the “superb” end of the spectrum. There is a kitchen, so if you bring supplies and enjoy quirky off the beaten path, this may be your place. Lastly, maybe being the only guests added to the strange feeling.
- Dane (8/5): easy and comfortable -
- Charlie (2/5): Would not recommend! - Glad we only stayed the one night. Very loud of an evening due to dogs barking and planes landing.
You need a phone with service to be able to call for gate to be unlocked to let you in and out of property.
Room was full of dead flies and bathroom not clean.
Had to remind host to return our deposit, seemed they was hoping we had forgot.
- Emanuel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sarah-jo (10/5): Exceptional - Had the absolute best time at Tahal's. Ella was so kind and welcoming. Felt like home. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Ice cold aircon. Great place to stay in Nadi. Just a short taxi from the airport, harbour or main city centre. The complimentary coach as part of the Bula pass goes from the hotel directly across the road too.
- Alex (10/5): Everything amazing! - Unique place nearby the center of Nadi. Tahal and his family are so amazing hosts - you feel like at home. They helped us a lot and they are very kind and super nice people. They also drove us to the airport and helped us so much!
Thank you again Nothing. Everything exceptional
- Jonathan (3/5): If you don't mind airplanes flying overhead, barking dogs and road noise and noisy neighbors - Welcoming hosts, great air conditioning, clean room Super noisy, airplanes flying directly overhead from 5 am to midnight, barking dogs surrounding the property, lots of road noise, no hot water
- Kerryann (10/5): The Tahals were so warm , welcoming and friendly. Very helpful and easy to talk to. They made sure we were comfortable. - The room had AC and two showers which was perfect for myself and cousin .
We also had access to fully equipped kitchen. There were a few leaks on the shared kitchen when it rained heavily but the host were quick to resolve the issue.
- Rimesh (1/5): Bad - Very disappointing the villas are shared....does not mention Dat u will share with strangers ..who will feel safe....seriously think before booking..very deceiving
- Girovaga0 (7/5): Ideal solution close to airport - For what I needed, the location was ideal because it was close to airport and to Port Denarau. The bed was very comfy and the staff was kind and helpful The area is a bit isolated and the only restaurant is 20 minute walking far. You always need a taxi to go around and go back to Nadi downtown
- Leo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siu (10/5): Everything you need plus a lot of love! - This place was so much more than we could’ve imagined and it’s all because of Veena and Deepak. The owners are so incredibly kind. They shared so much of their knowledge, connection and love with us. Please make sure you take the time to get to know them. They’ve made our stay absolutely amazing! They call their guests family and that’s how they treated us. We felt very welcomed and loved. Also by their staff. We left with hugs all around!
The room and shared amenities were very clean and well maintained. The location can be found well with navigation and is in an area of the city with not too many surrounding houses. There is a nearby take-off strip from the airport which obviously you can hear, but it didn’t bother us. I highly suggest staying here!
- Zoltan (9/5): Superb - Safe, cleanliness, kind staff Distance from everything, closed gates
- Andrei (8/5): Very good - Good location - close to major routes, friendly staff, clean, aircon rooms with all essentials As we stayed there around Diwali holidays the celebrating turned a bit noisy at times
- Nonsokolo (9/5): Superb -
- Suzy (10/5): Great stay before and after if you wan to go to the islands. Very relaxing and lovely hosts. Clean and well kitted out. - Hosts were so friendly, kind and warming. Always making sore everything was good.
Very clean apartment. Kitted out well. Location was in between airport and town, so you need to rely on taxi.
However, Veena gave us a lift and waited while we went to the grocery store. So kind.
- Andrea (10/5): I stayed here twice - loved it more each time! - A very unique and creative design, with owners & staff that truly make you feel like family! I originally picked this for my layover in proximity to the airport (which it is also convenient for). But I returned for the one of a kind hospitality, and I invite everyone to do the same 😊
- Gauna (10/5): Exceptional - I love everything about the property.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Kerrie (10/5): Exceptional - I like the outdoors and the indoor settings.
Also friendly staff Aggie 💚♥️
- Tabua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Namoimalua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tinivata (5/5): Good - Clean Have to ask for gates to open when you want to go out in the evening
- Viliamu (10/5): I’ll be back again. - Very clean tidy and comfortable. Aggie the best manager.
